Khan is from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and has built up an impressive domestic career with Abbottabad, for whom he debuted in January 2007. The record acquires greater sheen given that Abbottabad are among the weaker sides on the circuit. Those performances have led him to Pakistan A selection, for whom he has been impressive in two series now, never less than when taking nine wickets in a 'Test' against Sri Lanka A in Hambantota in September 2010.

Since his first class debut in January 2007, Abbottabad, Junaid has scalped 29 wickets in his first six games in an impressive average of 18.79.

It took an e-match, 13 to 77 against Peshawar in November 2007 and even scored 71 against subsequent Rawalpindi.

As per reports, the two sports stars have been in an affair for the last six months, which had led to Sania''s earlier engagement to break.

Sources said that the mother of Shoaib Malik went to Indian city of Hyderabad Deccan where she met with the family of Sania Mirza and finalized Shoaib and Sania''s marriage.

This may be recalled that earlier engagements of both Malik and Mirza had come to an end.

Malik was engaged with Ayesha Siddiqui also from Hyderabad Deccan on June 3, 2002 while Sania on the other side was engaged with childhood friend Sohrab Khan which ended in January 2010.

The wedding ceremony of Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza will take place in India while the valima reception will be hosted by Malik on April 16 or 17 in Lahore.

"I desire to get married soon. You will soon get some good news but it depends on my family. I fully expect to get married this year," Shoaib had said in a recent interaction with the media.

Asked if it would be an arranged marriage, he said, "No can say what will happen, but it will take place with the concurrence of my family."<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/267103677990155234-8836017917175858097?l=cricketplayers-info.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

He has batted in every position in ODIs since his debut in 1999. He began at Test level batting in the lower-order and was even used as an opener, astonishingly, proving himself to be an adept one. As an offspinner in the modern mould, everything about his bowling, from short-stepping run-up to the doosra, bear striking similarities with Saqlain Mushtaq (though not as obviously gifted). And the action isn't clean enough - he has been reported twice at international level - once in October 2004 after which he played primarily as a batsman for the next six months, before undergoing elbow surgery to correct his action. And he was again reported in November 2005, after which he underwent elbow surgery again in early 2006. But it is his intelligence and versatility that mark him out and make him so vital to Pakistan's future. After Bob Woolmer's arrival, he became one of Pakistan's most intelligent ODI batsmen, regularly marshalling chases from one-down, setting up platforms for big totals as a thruster, scoring runs in vital matches and being at the heart of Pakistan's ODI resurgence. He is an uncomplicated batsman, with checked drives and cuts and useful slogs when needed. Against India, both in 2005 and 2006, all these qualities came to the fore. Yet, he can still come in at number six as he did against South Africa in 2003 once and blast 82 from 40 balls. More significantly, he has settled at Test level, scoring a vital, match-saving hundred against Sri Lanka at Colombo. Injuries kept him out of Tests against England and South Africa but as he returned to the ODI side with a World Cup looming, his batting intelligence was again shining through.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/267103677990155234-9191191749385218250?l=cricketplayers-info.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

<p><b>Bowling style</b> Right-arm fast-medium </p>
<p><b>Umar Gul</b> is one Pakistan fast bowler who has earned a good reputation in the past few years. Gul has the ability to maintain an excellent discipline with the new ball and his outswingers are a deadly weapon in his armoury. Gul isn't in the Shoaib Akhtar mould in terms of pace, but his outstanding control and ability to extort seam movement single him out. Also, his height facilitates him to extract bounce on most surfaces and from his innate back of a length, it is a valuable trait.The Peshawar born bowler had a good start to his international career, but an ankle injury ruled him out for the next few seasons. He came back into the side as a fitter bowler and has never looked back since. In the absence of Akhtar and Asif, the right-armer has done an excellent job of leading the Pakistan attack. Gul is an important element in the new generation of Pakistan’s pace battery.</p><div style="padding: 0px 0pt 5px; width: 470px; margin-top: 10px;">

As the International Cricket Council (ICC) rescheduled the Champions Trophy following the Bomb blast in Marriot hotel in Pakistan and the Australian team refusing to play in Pakistan citing security concerns, the second edition of the Champions League Cricket Twenty20 next year has been postponed by two weeks.

The second edition of the Champions League Twenty20 was earlier scheduled to be held from September 25 to October 10 next year but it will now be held from October 10 to 23 after the ICC rescheduled the Champions Trophy from September 24 to October 5, 2009.

"This (rescheduling of Champions League Twenty20) was a goodwill response to a request from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to consider new playing dates for 2009," a joint statement of the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI), Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa said today.

The good news is Twelve teams will take part in the competition.

The inaugural Champions League Twenty20 will be held in India from December 3 to 10 this year. Eight teams -- winners and runners-up from the domestic Twenty20 competitions in India, Australia and South Africa, plus the Twenty20 champion Sialkot from Pakistan, and Twenty20 champion from England, Middlesex, will contest the 2008 Champions Twenty20 League.

The tournament has a USD 6 million prize fund, out of which the winning team will get USD 3 million.

Misbah is known for his cool headed batting especially under pressure.
<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://cricketplayers-info.blogspot.com/2009/09/misbah-ul-haq.html"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 121px; height: 171px;" src="http://www.cricinfo.com/inline/content/image/407583.html?alt=1" alt="" border="0" /></a>
At the age of 33, Misbah was chosen to play in the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in 2007, filling the middle order spot vacated by Inzamam-ul-Haq. He had been regularly making runs in Pakistani domestic cricket and in the years before his recall he was consistently one of the top run scorers at each season's end, with his first-class average briefly climbing above 50.

Misbah was one of the stars of the tournament, playing a large part in many thrilling run chases. The first was in the group stage against India where he scored a half century in a tied match. He was run out attempting the winning run off the last ball of the match. In their Super 8s encounter with Australia he was named Man of the Match with an unbeaten 66 off 42 deliveries to see his side home with 5 balls to spare. Another unbeaten innings in the semi final against New Zealand saw Pakistan book a spot in the final against India.
<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://cricketplayers-info.blogspot.com/2009/09/misbah-ul-haq.html"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 170px; height: 173px;" src="http://pakistaniat.com/images/misbah-ul-haq.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>
He played an instrumental role in Pakistan's recovery in the inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20 final against arch-rivals India, with 3 consecutive sixes. The sixes came off Harbhajan Singh's last over of the match. With 6 runs needed to win off 4 remaining balls, Misbah tried to scoop the ball over short fine leg, but was caught out by Sreesanth.

Misbah scored his maiden Test hundred against India at Kolkata in the 2nd Test of the 2007 series. After India managed 616 in their first innings, Pakistan were at 5 for 150 in reply and in danger of following on when Misbah and Kamran Akmal put together a match saving 207 run stand. Misbah finished on 161 not out. In the 3rd &amp; final Test of the series, Misbah made another fluent century this time finishing on 133 not out.

2008 began with some high points for Misbah as he was elevated to the post of Vice - Captain of the Pakistan team and was awarded a Grade A Contract. Since returning to International Cricket for Pakistan, Misbah has gone through a sustained patch of prolific run scoring. In his last 5 Test Match innings for Pakistan, he has notched up 458 runs at a very high batting average of 152.67 against India.In his last 5 ODIs as well, Misbah has made 190 Runs at an average of 63.33 &amp; in Domestic Cricket for Punjab, he has amassed an astounding 586 runs at an average of 195.33 with 2 centuries and his highest first-class score of 208*.

An orthodox batsman with reasonable technique, Misbah-ul-Haq caught the eye with his unflappable temperament in the tri-nation one-day tournament in Nairobi in 2002, scoring two fifties in three innings, including one in the final against Australia. But before Pakistan could hail him as a possible middle-order mainstay, Misbah's form slumped - he didn't manage a single 20-plus score in three Tests against Australia and was duly dumped. Pakistan's abysmal World Cup campaign - and the wholesale changes to the team in its aftermath - gave Misbah another chance to redeem himself, but he did little of note in the limited opportunities he got.

Even though Misbah had not represented Pakistan for about three years, a run-filled domestic season, followed by club cricket in England, and Inzamam's retirement from ODIs prompted the board to award Misbah a central contract in July 2007. A month later, he was surprisingly picked, ahead of Mohammad Yousuf, for the 15-man squad for the Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa. He repaid the selectors' faith by finishing the tournament as Pakistan's best player and nearly taking them to victory in the final. He was duly named in the team for the Test and ODI series that followed against South Africa.

Born October 7, 1984, Lahore, Punjab
<br>
Current age 24 years 343 days
<br>
Major teams Pakistan, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lahore
<br>
Playing role Batsman
<br>
Batting style Left-hand bat
<br>
Bowling style Right-arm offbreak
<br>

He started in the Under-17s and quickly progressed through to Under-19 level, although at the time he was much younger than the age limits suggest, making his senior debut for Lahore Whites in 2000 aged only 16. His talent was noticed immediately, which led to him being given a place in the Pakistan A team against England soon after. However, instead of rushing straight for the limelight of international cricket, he got his head down and consolidated by playing consistently for his region and the youth teams, until the Pakistan selectors finally drafted him in 2003.[2]

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Batting Style<span style="font-style: italic;"></span></span>

An accumulator, he works very hard for his runs without indulging in too many big hits; his stats showing only two international sixes to date (12 September 2007). He is most famous for his wristy strokes.[5] He scores a lot of his runs between backward point and extra cover. He uses his superb wristwork to angle the bat, placing the ball into gaps using the pace of the ball to his advantage; a very good technique for ODIs where it is best to keep the scoreboard ticking all the time. He also has the ability to cut the ball very fine down to third man if there are no slips, especially against spin bowlers, as he showed to great effect in his above-mentioned innings of 108 not out. These are his specialities, but he has large range of shots. However, many commentators have expressed that his defensive technique has flaws, and that he is prone to playing at balls outside off-stump which should be left.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/267103677990155234-8970196788960117892?l=cricketplayers-info.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

Imran Nazir is an aggressive batsman though his technique has been found useful to Pakistan, but when in full swing he is a sight to watch. An accurate timer of the ball, he has the ability to carry out his natural game regardless of the match situation but is quite liable to get out quicker as the pressure builds upon him. A meagre average of 25 in one day cricket suggests that Imran has been unable to make the step up to international, despite being given numerous chances by the Pakistani selectors. He is also an orthodox leg spinner but very rarely does he have the opportunity to bowl, or maybe he is not tempted by the prospect of bowling.

LAHORE - ICL rebel players, opener Imran Nazir and all-rounder Rana Navedul Hasan have staged a comeback in the Pakistan national team for the five match one-day series against Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy later this year while controversial and always-unfit fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar failed to impress the selectors as the initial team was announced by the PCB here Wednesday.
The Pakistan Cricket Board announced a 16-member team for the Sri Lanka ODIs beginning from July 30 while a preliminary 30-man squad for the South Africa Champions Trophy from September 22 to October 5, which was shifted to the country from Pakistan due to security reasons.

Mohammad Asif (born 20 December 1982 in Sheikhupura) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is primarily a right-arm fast-medium bowler. Early in his career he was compared to the Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath, known for extreme accuracy.

After impressing in domestic Pakistani cricket, Mohammad Asif was fast tracked into the Pakistan test squad and made his first appearance against Australia in January 2005. He bowled 18 overs without taking a wicket and Australia won by 9 wickets.

Asif was subsequently dropped from the side but returned a year later in January 2006 for the home tour against India. In the second Test, Asif bowled 34 overs and took the wicket of Yuvraj Singh. It was the third Test in Karachi, however, where Asif would make headlines. After a poor batting display by Pakistan, Asif took 4 for 78 in the first innings, including the wickets of V. V. S. Laxman, Rahul Dravid and, once again, Yuvraj Singh, to help Pakistan take a six-run lead. Asif returned in the second innings with three clea<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://cricketplayers-info.blogspot.com/2009/08/mohammad-asif.html"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 450px; height: 527px;" src="http://www.india-server.com/news-images/mohammad-asif-in-champions-trophy-squad-9414.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>n bowled wickets of Virender Sehwag, Laxman, and Sachin Tendulkar to lead Pakistan to victory. His series against the Indians was blighted by a fine imposed by match referee Chris Broad for overappealing and premature celebration of a wicket

Pakistan Friday recalled dope-tainted fast bowler Mohammad Asif for the Champions Trophy in South Africa, bringing him in place of under-performing all-rounder Abdul Razzaq.

Chief selector Iqbal Qasim announced the 15-man squad for the elite eight-nation tournament for which seasoned all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been promoted as vice-captain in place of misfiring middle-order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq.

The wickets are usually bouncy in South Africa and the conditions offer both swing and seam movement for fast bowlers, which is why we have selected five pacers for the 15-man squad,” he said.

Asif, who last played for Pakistan in April last year, is back to spearhead the pace battery that includes Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and youngster Mohammad Aamer. The team includes only one specialist spinner – Saeed Ajmal.

Asif, who tested positive for banned anabolic steroid nandrolone during the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last summer, is currently serving a one-year ban for doping that ends Sept 22.

Also known as Rana Naved

Batting style Right-hand bat

Bowling style Right-arm medium-fast

A right-arm fast-medium bowler capable of generating good pace with late swing, he is a genuine strike bowler although prone to leaking runs. He often bowls the reverse-swinging yorker in one day cricket and has good control over changes of pace. Rana is also a useful attacking lower-order batsman with 3 first class hundreds.

He paid the ultimate price for a poor run of form in 2007 (which featured a career threatening injury sustained for Yorkshire CC) – not only was he dropped from the Pakistan team, he failed to secure a Central Contract, which ultimately proved the catalyst in him joining the ‘rebel’ Indian Cricket League (ICL) for the 2008 season, where he made a huge impact as batsman and bowler.

Voted the ‘2008 Man of the Tournament’ for the guiding the Lahore Badshah’s to the ICL Championship, Rana Naved is arguably in the best form of his career.

Rana is back at Yorkshire for his second season there and has recently been released from his ICL contract. Future international availability though is still up in the air.

Muhammad Aamir (born 13 April 1992) is a Pakistani left-arm fast bowler, hailing from Gujar Khan, Punjab. He is a highly thought of young prospect, making his international debut at the age of just 17 at 2009 World T20 and played in every match in the process of helping Pakistan win the World Cup. Aamir was youngest player to be competing in the tournament.His debut was against England. He is mainly noted for his whippy action which generates notably quick pace and swing.

Aamir was first picked out as a pace prospect by the renowned Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram at a pace camp back in 2007. Aamir, then 15 years old, went on a tour of England with the Pakistan U19 side and was one of the leading bowlers, taking regular wickets at a low average. Aamir then played in a tri-nation tournament featuring Sri Lanka and England, he again excelled with his pace and swing bowling. Due to injury he played only a limited part in the U19 World Cup in Malaysia in 2008.

In March 2008 he made his domestic debut for the Rawalpindi Rams whilst also representing theNational Bank of Pakistan. His debut domestic season resulted in him taking 55 first-class wickets for NBP. He took a lot of top order wickets and those of players in the national side. This strong domestic form resulted in him being selected for the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup. In the final of the Twenty20 World Cup Aamir bowled a wicket maiden in the opening over of the match, taking the wicket of Tillakaratne Dilshan who was later named player of the tournament.

Pakistan legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram expressed his concerned for the future of Pakistan cricket in the current security situation but says the talent is still being produced in his country.

"We all, every Pakistani, is worried,” Akram said in the weekly ICC Cricket World audio show. “Until some teams eventually start touring Pakistan then only Pakistan cricket will flourish. There’s a lot of talent there. We showed that during the ICC World Twenty20. Talent is very much there but first and foremost, they have to play more cricket,” he further said.

Pakistan recently introduced a 17-year old Mohammad Aamir in the ICC World Twenty20 and his brilliant show in the tournament has drawn munificent praise and earned him a maiden call up to the Test team for the series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan Cricket Board handed a central contract of category 'C'.

The runs didn't cease to flow for Umar Akmal, the younger brother of Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran and Adnan, in his maiden first-class season. In a triumphant 2007-08 for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Umar failed to score in his first outing but then went on to amass 855 runs from nine matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, at an average of 77.72 and an impressive strike-rate of 90.18. He showed a penchant for both brisk and big scoring, with knocks of 248 off 225 balls and 186 off 170. In January 2008, he was picked in Pakistan's Under-19 team for the World Cup in Malaysia. He was the leading run-getter - with 255 runs at a strike-rate of 123.18 - in a tri-nation tournament involving England and Sri Lanka in the lead-up to the World Cup.

The runs didnt cease to come from Umar Akmal’s bat another day when it was merely a practice contest for some but for Akmal brothers and selectors it was a matter of relief. At Tour match between Sri Lanka A and Pakistan, Umar Akmal hurried to his century at a run rate of 135.52 conceding 76 odd balls.

Pakistan were dissappointngly 129 for 6 when Akmal, youngest brother of Kamran Akmal stepped in. This 19 year old lad started cautiously and then it was all but not less than a mature display of power and class with 3 sixes and 7 fours. Together with Abdul Razzaq he put up a century partnership at eighth wicket and brought Pakistan close to victory which never happened. The victory could have been a big confidence booster but still team is happy with the way Umar Akmal staged the show.

Umar’s previous record till now is splendid. Before coming to Sri Lanka, he was part of Pakistan A squad touring Australia where he scored 283 runs at 94.33 in the unofficial Tests against Australia A and 155 at 51.66 in the three one-dayers that followed. In 2008, he was picked for Pakistan’s Under-19 team for the World Cup in Malaysia. He was the leading run scorer with 255 runs at a magnificent strike-rate of 123.18 - in a tri-nation tournament involving England and Sri Lanka in the lead-up to the World Cup.

Younus Khan made his international debut in an ODI against Sri Lanka at Karachi in February 2000, and has since played over 150 ODIs for Pakistan. He has also played in over 50 Test matches. Younus was one of the few batsmen who retained his place in the team after Pakistan's disastrous World Cup campaign in 2003, but lost it soon after due to a string of poor scores in the home series against Bangladesh and South Africa. He came back for the one-day series against India, but failed to cement a place in the Test side.

It was his return to the side in October 2004, at the pivotal one-down, against Sri Lanka in Karachi that laid the groundwork for his emergence as a force in Pakistan cricket. He was the top run-getter in the disastrous 3-0 whitewash in Australia immediately after and on the tour of India, for which Younus was elevated to vice-captain, he blossomed. After a horror start to the series he came back strongly, capping things off with 267 in the final Test. It was his highest Test score and came off 504 balls in the first innings, to set up a series levelling victory in Bangalore.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Younis lifts Twenty20 World Cup at Lord's</span>

Pakistan won their first major title in 17 years when they stunned Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the World Twenty20 final at a sell-out Lord's here on Sunday.

Seamer Abdur Razzaq claimed three wickets as Pakistan bowled and fielded aggressively to restrict Sri Lanka to 138-6, then coasted home easily with eight deliveries to spare.

Shahid Afridi hit an unbeaten 54 off 40 balls, his second consecutive half-century, and former captain Shoaib Malik made 24 not out during a match-winning partnership of 76 for the undefeated third wicket.

Pakistan, runners-up to India in the final of the inaugural World Twenty20 in South Africa two years ago, ended Sri Lanka's unbeaten run in the tournament with style.

Pakistan last won an offical multi-nation tournament in 1992 when Imran Khan's team lifted the World Cup by beating England in the final at the Melbourne cricket ground in Australia.

The win by Younus Khan's team gave Pakistanis back home reason to cheer as the cricket-mad nation has been deprived of international tours due to security concerns in the volatile nation.

The International Cricket Council has already ruled out holding World Cup matches in Pakistan in 2011 following the militant attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore on March 3.

Afridi paid tribute to skipper Younus.

Shoaib Akhtar (Born 13 August 1975 in Rawalpindi, Punjab) is a Pakistani cricketer, and is one of the fastest bowlers in the world, earning him the name Rawalpindi Express. He set a world record by clocking 160.9km/h (100mph) twice. His ability to bowl fast yorkers, well disguised slow balls, swinging deliveries (including reverse swing), and sharp bouncers have made him lethal even on dead pitches. Shoaib akhter is a great bowler and being in club one night shud not be a obstacle in his career or to throw him out from the team. Shoaib made a strong comeback in his first game in the IPL for the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Delhi Daredevils. Defending a low score of 133, Shoaib took four top order wickets which ultimately led to the Daredevils being restricted to 110. He ended with figures of 4-11 from three overs, a performance which earned him the player of the match award.
