NCIS Episode 7: Devil's Triangle

It's been a long time since I posted an update on this very blog and I apologize for long delay because of the busy schedule I had right now but rest assure an update will be posted weekly when I can.

NCIS Episode 7 is entitled the "Devil's Triangle" as it involves Jethro Gibb's AND FBI Agent Tobias Fornell's ex-wife Diane who is now married to Victor Sterling who works for Homeland Security who went missing. Since both of her ex's where working for law enforcement agencies so she decided to approach them both first.

This is the second time that the show featured one of the Gibb's ex-wives (the first ex-wife to appear would be Gibbs' fourth and final marriage was to Stephanie Flynn on Season 5 episode 3 entitled "Ex-File"). This episode is quite hilarious because of the tension between the Diane and her ex-husbands. The case when the team was able to find Victor Sterling which was held captive by the suspects.

My Impression on Ted Danson's debut on CSI

My impression on Ted Danson's character D.B. Russell is a bit loose and lighthearted person yet has good balance of investigating skills comparable to CSI New York's Mac Taylor. Although he is still adjusting to his new team, it has shown that he can get along with other members of the team while maintaining authority over team (like treating all members of the team for breakfast is one).

As a long time CSI follower, Danson's character might be the best person to lead the Las Vegas graveyard shift since Gil Grissom (Dr. Raymund Langston may have some of the scientific skills similar to Grissom's yet his character has dark side to which "alienate" some of the show's fans).

Criminal Minds: Core members are back

I am glad the that producers of Criminal Minds has decided to bringing back the whole cast to the delight of the most fans as Season 7 has started. The premiere episode of new season is considered a closure to last season's finale on which lead to people thinking that Paget Brewster will be leaving the show permanently while A.J. Cook will be coming back to reprise her role as agent Jennifer "JJ" Jarreu- but I assume with this development, it might be better for the show to keep the core cast intact for now.

For those who are wondering what would happen with Agent Ashley Seaver (played by Rachel Nichols), According to Wikipedia, Nichols's contract was not included for season seven, and her character departed the show off-screen. It was mentioned during the episode that he was being transferred into another unit within the FBI.

Alana De La Garza Returns on CSI:Miami; Mac Taylor's late wife finally revealed

CSI: Miami and New York franchises will have a similar feature on there upcoming seasons as both shows' lead protagonists will feature their respective late wives. Alana de la Garza will reprise her role as Marisol Delko-Caine. Her return to CSI:Miami will play a part in resolving last season's cliff-hanger, in which Horatio was also shot. So, does Marisol appear in a dream? Who knows CSI Miami season 10 will premiere on September 25, 2011.

On a similar note, CSI: New York's Mac Taylor (played by Gary Sinise) will also have some "flashback" treatment from her late wife Claire Taylor which will be played by Jaime Ray Newman (of General Hospital and Eastwick). Claire died during the terrorist attack will appear in flashbacks during the show's Season 8 premiere, which honors the 10th anniversary of 9/11. CSI:New York returns on Sept. 23, 2011.

Ted Danson to replace Laurence Fishburne on CSI

This news really caught my attention:

"In a surprise casting, multi-award winning actor and television icon Ted Danson has agreed to join season 12 of ‘CSI’. Danson will take the place of Laurence Fishburne – who announced he would be leaving the series last month." -- Screenrant.com

What the hell is the producers of CSI thinking? I mean they could have literally save the show by getting the person to be the face of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and that is William Petersen to reprise the iconic character Gil Grissom. Every CSI fan would agree with me on this one.

I get it. Ted Danson can give the show some new direction but heck they already did that with Laurence Fishburne which was okay but still the rating are not as good when Grissom was still the man,

JJ coming back to Criminal Minds for Season 7 and 8

Criminal Minds fans and specially those who are fans of SSA -Media Liaison Jennifer "JJ" Jarreau (that includes me) will be delighted as A.J. Cook has sign on to return to show as the series regular for two seasons.

This would be a great news since they need another female agent on the team and there no one more suitable than JJ herself. She will also be a good compliment to new agent Ashley Seaver (played by Rachel Nichols) as she is basically Emily Prentiss' "replacement".

Sofia Curtis does a reprise too [Spoiler Alert]

As if we had enough of former CSI cast reprising their roles on the show another former regular cast Louis Lombard will reprise her role as Sofia Curtis now a deputy chief on the upcoming remaining episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Lady Heather is back on CSI

If Gil Grissom's brief appearance was exciting, CSI episode 19 entitled "Unleashed" will feature the once loved dominatrix now a professional psychiatrist Dr. Heather Kessler or as we know her as Lady Heather played by the lovely Melinda Clarke. What make this episode a bit more exciting on my part is the initial tension that has brought in when Sara Sidle and Dr. Raymond Langston interviewed (Lady Heather, I mean) Dr. Kessler regarding a case to which she is involved.

Another thing that makes this episode more interesting was Heather's help on how Dr. Langston can catch serial psycho "The Dick & Jane Killer" Nate Haskell. Lady Heather sure has a thing for the show's main protagonist (albeit in a non-romantic way).

Breakout Kings and White Collar added to my list

Here's a new twist to my TV series show that I have been watching as of late. I have been watching police procedural shows that pertains to a more "conventional" methods of catching the bad guys. And now I have two new shows to add my "TV Shows to watch" bucket list and these are Breakout Kings and White Collar. The theme of this shows are basically federal agencies are using the unconventional methods of catching criminals by using the same criminals in exchange for reduced prison sentence and/or avoid solitary confinement altogether.

White Collar is a USA Network television series created by Jeff Eastin, starring Matt Bomer as con-man Neal Caffrey and Tim DeKay as Special Agent Peter Burke. It premiered on October 23, 2009. On September 27, 2010, the USA Network renewed White Collar for a third season with 16 new episodes. The show's main protagonist Neal Caffrey a con-man, forger and thief, is captured after a three-year game of cat and mouse with the FBI. With four months left while serving a four-year sentence, he escapes from a maximum-security federal prison to find Kate, his ex-girlfriend. Peter Burke, the FBI agent who initially captured Caffrey, finds him at a dead end in his search and returns Caffrey to prison. This time, Caffrey gives Burke information about evidence in another case; however, this information comes with a price: Burke must have a meeting with Caffrey. At this meeting, Caffrey proposes a deal: he will help Burke catch other criminals as part of a work-release program. Burke agrees, after some hesitation. Through the successful apprehending of several white-collar criminals, Caffrey has proven to Burke that he will help him, and that he will not try to escape again. This begins an unconventional but successful partnership.

Breakout Kings on the other hand is a virtual polar opposite of White Collar in terms of the type of criminals they employed and the methods use to capture is somewhat of "blue collar" and the federal agency in connection are the US Marshals. The story goes like this: In order to catch escaped convicts, a squad of U.S. Marshals makes a special deal with several current prisoners . If they agree to help, their sentences will be reduced by one month and they will be transferred to a minimum-security facility. However, if any of them should try to escape, they will all be returned to their original prisons and their sentences will be doubled. The show premiere last March 6, 2011).

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour Review

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour is CBS's new spinoff of one of their hit TV series Criminal Minds. The new series is almost similar to the main show but this time the group is more of a "rapid response team" called Red Cell and they are reporting directly to the director of FBI. What makes this group differ from the parent series is that they are quick to create profiles and are more direct-to-the-point. This unit is lead by Agent Sam Cooper (played by Forrest Whitaker) his colleagues are Agent Beth Griffin (played by Janeane Garofalo), Agent Jonathan "Prophet" Simms (Michael Kelly), Agent Gina LaSalle (Beau Garrett), Agent Mick Rawson (Matt Ryan) and Tech assistant Penelope Garcia (which is still played by Kirsten Vangsness) rounds up the group. Emily Prentiss does a "Horatio Caine"

Criminal Mind's Season finale has thrown a "Horatio Caine" scenario as Emily Prentiss faked her own death so that she can go after the Ian Doyle with the help of former BAU colleague Jennifer "JJ" Jarreu. Initially we thought that Paget Brewster will also be "cross-out" because of her death to find out there's a "mind game" that is being played to catch Ian Doyle in the end. The finally is basically a cliffhanger that will setup a final showdown between Prentiss and Doyle. I really approciated that the producers decided to guest A.J. Cook on the show. Personally, I would really hope that the show's producers would decide to bring JJ back into the show.

Any idea of Paget Brewster leaving the show is deemed "premature" in my opinion.

Gil Grissom is back on CSI! ... as a Guest and in Skype

Rachel Nichols becomes a regular on Criminal Minds

Last December 2010, the producers of Criminal Minds has decided to add Rachel Nichols (which she plays FBI Cadet Ashley Seaver). So far she's been doing fine but her character is still well received by most since most fans still can get over the loss of Jennifer "JJ" Jarreu (played by A.J. Cook) from the show.

I would hope that the producers of the show develops her character more turn her into a full fledge agent.

Van Pelt-Rigsby love team on the Rocks

NCIS Semi-Spoilers

NCIS Fans might wanna brace yourself for upcoming episodes next month as we are gonna expect at least a good run down of episode which features the following story arc.

A two episode arc about Dr. "Ducky" Mallard's past including a past "fling" with a former NCIS agent named Whitney Sharp (which will be played by Catherine Dent).
Ziva David will get a major rival in the person of Liat, a Mossad Liaison charged with keeping Ziva’s dad out of harm’s way. Liat will be played by Israeli actress/model Sarai Givaty. (I can now imagine Tony Dinozzo's face when he gets a glimpse of this new chick on the show).

A Resolution to Wendy Simms Departure on CSI

Episode Two of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation yielded some resolutions aside from the episode case in hand. It also yielded the resolution to the Wendy Simm's departure of the show to which she said on the show that she has a new job as full-time CSI agent on Portand, Oregon and sadly said goodbye to Hodges.

My speculation on this is that in the near future, there is a possibility of her coming back to CSI not as a lab rat anymore but as an experience crime scene investigator. And since Marg Helgenberger will leave CSI by the end of the season, I won't be surprise if Liz Vassey returns now as a CSI to fill in the spot Helgenberger left.

Farewell Jennifer Jarreu

Criminal Minds episode 3 was basically a sad episode to watch not because their current case was not solve (it was solved), it's because it's the last episode we will see AJ Cook on the show (making her the 3rd major casting chance after Mandy Patinkin and Lola Glaudini left the show). I am a bit relieved that AJ Cook's character has a chance that she can comeback in the future as her character was just "ordered" to transfer her services to another branch of government to which Hotchner (even Erin Strauss) has no control of the situation.

Well at least her character was not killed off.

Peter Cambor is slowly leaving NCIS:LA?

I have notice from the last two episodes now that Nate Getz (played by Peter Cambor) is doing some secret trainings with Heddy's permission. And on episode 3, Nate decided to go overseas (to an assumed Middle Eastern country) on a special assignment to which we can expect on the upcoming episodes.

However there are no report of Cambor really leaving the show...Yet. My speculation is that they might add Mike Renko back (played by Brian Avers) as a permanent cast to add more "action" to the show or it's a possible storyline surrounding Nate Getz.

The sight of having another main cast leaving the show might give the fans a very depressing mood since not all has gone over the loss of agent Dominic Vale (played by Adam Jamal Craig).

Criminal Minds Season 6 episode 1

The conclusion to the last season's cliffhanger is basically a typical episode of any Criminal Minds episode but there's somewhat a slight preview of this to come for this TV show. If you haven't read my previous post, AJ Cook (on which she plays FBI Agent Jennifer (JJ) Jarreau) will be leaving the series and the upcoming episode will be her final episode in a sort of tribute to her character. On this episode, JJ was forced by her team leader agent Hutchner to be the hostage negotiator for this case to which she did very well yet gave her somethings to think about.

Sela Ward's first episode on CSI New York a Success

For those of you who are wondering who's the new beautiful CSI on CSI:NY and where did Stella Bonasera go? on the season premiere of CSI:New York, both questions was answered as the episode started where last season ended - to very quick resolution in my opinion - as Shane Casey's days of hounding the Messners ended in very nice fashion courtesy of Lindsay Monroe-Messner (won't go on details on this for those who weren't able to see the episode yet).

Now back on to my previous topic. Where's Stella? (spoiler alert here) Stella Bonasera has officially move to the city of New Orleans to lead the CSI group on that area (this would be a nice possible spin-off CSI city if the producers plan of adding another one). And for the next question, "Who the new babe who replaced Stella Bonasera?" Well she's Detective Jo Danville from Virginia (played by the lovely Sela Ward).

My first impression on the character is that she a cool and smart lady and in my humble opinion, an "improvement" over Stella's character but this is just my initial impression as it's still a long way to go if Jo Danville can really replace Stella in the hearts of every CSI:NY fans. She command's respect to which she has showed that on this episode while solving the current case. In terms of Sela Ward's performance, she did very well on his very first episode showing her veteran acting skills to go with her very nice looks.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - Season 11 - Episode 1

Justin Bieber has officially started his acting career as a possible "bad guy" as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's season premiere started with a bang (pun intended). As with the previous season, CSI has a knack for having a very long series arcs (similar to last season's Dr. Jeklyl murders) and this one won't be different except for a new the new CSI added in the cast in the person of bomb expert Kacey Monahan (played by Sienna Guillory) which so far was impressive and has practically eased the loss of Liz Vassey on the show. Still, I would hope that she will last unlike the previous "babe" CSI on the show ( Lauren Lee Smith and Sofia Curtis).

I will Miss AJ Cook on the upcoming Criminal Minds season

Call me a purist or what when a major character in a top grossing TV series leaves it usually break up the dynamics of the show unless a very good replacement is being added which is a common and prevalent events on prime time TV shows. Earlier this year, the producer of the show Criminal Minds had announced that they will drop AJ Cook (who plays liason officer Agent Jennifer Jarreu) and cut back scene for Paget Brewster because for "creative" reasons.

For long time Criminal Minds fans this a major blow to the show. This is the second time a well-liked character in CM has left the show ( the first was Agent Jason Gideon played by Mandy Patinkin but was well replace by Joe Montegna's character David Rossi).

Eddie Cibrian Leaves CSI: Miami

Now this is a sad news for the lady fans of CSI: Miami as Eddie Cibrian (who plays the hunky Jessie Cardoza) will not be back on the 8th season of the show amidst the return of Adam Rodriguez (who plays Calleigh Duchesne's love interest and fellow original member Eric Delko) as a regular cast.

Marg Helgenberger to Leave CSI

Marg Helgenberger (who plays the hot Catherine Willows) has announced that she will be leaving CSI after the 19th episode of the 11th season of the said show.

It's unfortunate that the show's original cast is starting to leave the show but that's life. I would hope that Marg's replacemenr after the 11th season would be as hot or even better similar to what is happening on CSI: NY.

New babe Sienna Guillory joins CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

With the reports that Liz Vassey (who plays the lovely DNA lab tech Wendy Simms) not coming back for the 11th season of CSI, the producers has announced the addition of a new BABE (Ballistics, Arson, Bombs and Explosives) expert which is gonna be portrayed by Sienna Guillory. Guillory also made this announcement on her twitter.
