On this episode of Crimes Against Pop Culture we delve into the seedy parts of 1950's New York. Where Sharks and Jets are two opposing forces that snap their way through a fight. If you are into musicals, we think you will enjoy this one. It can be a bit heavy handed at times and some of the subject matter hit's a bit close to home even today.

I do have to let you know that during the podcast, when we come back from watching the movie the sound quality take a bit of a hit and you can't hear me. Luckily for you all it only lasts about 15 minutes and then my bonehead figures out that I had turned off the mic during our break and forgot to turn it back on.

Happy Boovember! We only recorded one episode for the month of October so we decided to carry the scary over to November and then we said that we might as well come up with a cool sounding name and Boovember was born. Although I'm not sure if anyone else has thought of it so let's just say we are borrowing it for now.

On this Episode of CAPC, Gerry and I watch, "The Fly". A horror classic with some very disturbing imagery. If you have a weak constitution then I suggest maybe just listening to the episode and skip the movie. Let's just say that if watching a person transform for a normal human being into a insect like creature is not your thing, then this isn't the movie for you. You should definitely still listen because we are far from disgusting.

Happy Halloween! Well not for another few days but it still is October and in honor of this horror filled month, we decided that we should watch some scary movies. We start it off with a bang and watch "Carrie" from 1976. This hour (?) classic comes from the twisted mind of Stephen King and is directed by Brian De Palma. This is another classic that passed Gerry by and apparently myself as well because I did not remember anything about this movie. I could have sworn that I had seen it before. Take a listen as we discuss how I think this shouldn't be classified as a horror movie. Find out what we do think it should be classified as. I have to say that I have watched some shitty movies in my day, but this comes really close to winning the WME (Worst Movie Ever) title belt. Listen as we rant about the plot holes, the aging of a favorite son and why one character looks older than when he was killed off. We also contemplate the Latin translation of a certain spherical body part. As with all the other movies we have watched, Gerry and I spoil the shit out of this one. So if you haven't seen it, watch the movie first or we will ruin the ending for you. ROCKY WINS!!! There, now you don't have to watch this shitty movie.

Ok, I don't learn a valuable lesson but I do think about it. For like a second.

Today, Crimes Against Pop Culture reaches a very important milestone: 100 episodes! That's right, we have hit the century mark! It only took us well over a year to complete this momentous occasion. It also took Gerry and I some planning but we were able to set a goal and accomplish it. For those of you who have stuck around, thank you! I know our fan base is very small but we hope that we have provided some hours of fun while at the same time sprinkling some knowledge of movies into your brains. This particular movie even had us venture out of the RRR Studios and into sunny Zenzinitas (Encinitas) to partake in a popular cult adventure. We actually went to see "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at a midnight show with a shadow cast! What's a shadow cast? Well, pop in those ear buds and take a listen! You might learn something.

A special thanks to all of you who were brave enough to join us on our trip down south. Just a quick warning about this episode: it's our longest episode ever. Clocking in at just under 2 hours. Yes, that's T-W-O! So listen for a few minutes, take a break or a nap and then come back for more. You know you want to.
