FLORENCE - Two men who were working on renovations at the Florence Police Station are in jail after they were accused of taking 48 pounds of marijuana from the evidence locker.

Scott Raymond Burgert, 45, Old Cloverdale Road, Florence, and Bradley Thomas Jones, 40, Calhoun Street, Florence, are both charged with first-degree theft of property and trafficking marijuana, Florence Police Chief Rick Singleton said.

Singleton said the theft was discovered Tuesday and an investigation was immediately launched.

“Upon completion of the (remodeling) project, an audit was conducted (on the evidence vault) at which time it was discovered that some of the evidence was missing,” Singleton said. “An investigation was launched and information was obtained that implicated the construction workers who had been working in the vault.”

Authorities said the department received a tip that helped lead to the arrest.

Burgert and Jones are being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on bail of $30,000 each.

ok so you are going to seriously steal pot from the evidence locker and think that the cops are not going to notice. Ok so maybe you could have skimmed a little of the top and they would not have notices, but 48lbs??? really??

R.C. Gaitlin, 21, walked up to two patrol officers who were showing their squad car computer equipment to children in a Detroit neighborhood. When he asked how the system worked, the officers asked him for a piece of identification. Gaitlin gave them his driver's license, they entered it into the computer, and moments later they arrested Gaitlin because information on the screen showed that Gaitlin was wanted for a two-year-old armed robbery in St. Louis, Missouri.

This one is extremely funny to me because I just moved to MO.

David Posman, 33, was arrested recently in Providence, R.I, after allegedly knocking out an armored car driver and stealing the closest four bags of money. It turned out they contained $800 in PENNIES, weighed 30 pounds each, and slowed him to a stagger during his getaway so that police officers easily jumped him from behind.

Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kathryn Hill was arrested after selling a bag of oxycodone pills to an undercover officer. The officer also seized $1300 in cash that he suspected had been used for illegal drug activity. When asked where she got the money, she offered up a perfectly logical explanation. She told the officer "the tooth fairy gave it" to her. She's busted.

From Manatee, Florida comes the story of Raymond Rowe who was pulled over by the cops for speeding. After writing out the speeding ticket, the officer asked our bozo if he had smoked marijuana recently. He responded that he had smoked some the previous evening and then invited the cop to search the car. The officer checked the car and then searched our bozo. When the cop noticed a soft object sticking out of his buttocks, our bozo said, "Let me get it." He then proceeded to pull out a baggie containing 4.5 grams of marijuana. The officer continued his search and found another baggie in the same area. He pulled it out and found the baggie contained 27 pieces of rock cocaine. It was then that he offered up the Stupid Explanation of the Week. He told the cop, "The weed is mine, the white stuff isn't." Unfortunately he had no reasonable explanation for how the white stuff got there. He's busted!

Wow really? He offered the cop to search the car knowing he stuffed crack down his crack, Oh wait what am I thinking that wasn't his just the pot was. LMAO

Stupid criminal for today comes from Redwood City, California, where an unidentified 19-year-old walked up to a police car and asked for a ride. The officer asked him if he was carrying anything illegal. Our bozo replied, "Yes," before backtracking and changing his answer to "No." The officer decided it might be a good idea to check him out and he found a baggie of cocaine in his pocket. Busted! Next time he should consider calling a cab.

These two sleepy hooligans are Kyle Burress (top) and Allen PIerce (bottom). The two allegedly got drunk, busted open a storage container and hauled off to a grassy area with something soft to sleep on.

When the cops got to the scene, they only had to follow the trail of cushions, backpacks and other abandoned goods left behind by the thieves as they headed off to sleepy-time.

According to the police, they didn't so much as stir when one officer started taking photos.

So what one guy says to the other .... Hey man lets steal some cushions and back packs to sleep on. We can get away with it. This will be so cool. And the other guy says ok lets do it? Wow I think the really stupid part is that they leave a trail for the cops to find them.

Amber Jackson from Indianapolis, Indiana pretended to be pregnant with twins. No big deal if she was just shoving a pillow in her shirt to impress her friends – but Jackson was doing it to steal money from prospective adoptive parents.

The 28-year-old non-pregnant Jackson received more than $6,000 in financial assistance from several adoption agencies plus a couple from Laporte Indiana, a couple from Columbus Indiana and from yet another couple from the state of Utah.

Her game fell-apart when it was realized that she had falsified medical records and other documents. She had moved the supposed due date of the twins from January 16 to March 22 and March 30 using three Social Security numbers and five different dates of birth for herself.

Jackson, who has five “real” kids of her own - was arrested and charged with three counts of forgery, four counts of theft and three counts of adoption deception.

Did she really think she could get away with it? What was she going to do, Steal 6 kids to give to the adoptive parents? Any comments on this?

Two California men had what they thought was a great idea for making a few bucks -- breaking into a 40,000-square-foot building and stealing copper wiring from the vacant building. They ran into a bit of a problem by picking the wrong time to break into the Antioch, California, building.

When James Ayers, 26, and Frederick Guilliee, 38, decided to break in to the building, the Antioch police K-9 unit was using the building for a training exercise. A police officer was hiding inside the building for the police dog to practice trying to find him.

When the K-9 officer shouted out that a dog was about to be released and anyone inside should come out or risk being bitten, Ayers surrendered immediately.

The two were arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary.

Talk about your bad choices, and dumb bad luck. These guys should have just stayed at home in bed. What do you think?

Kenneth Bonds, 45, is not a big fan of the pants on the ground look, a fashion statement born from a conspiracy between wanna-be teenage hard-asses the American underwear industry. So when he saw two kids working the look in his neighborhood, he decided to do something...

The boys, ages 16 and 17, were on their way to a candy store in Whitehaven, Tennessee. That's when Bonds decided to yell at them to pull their pants up because, well, they looked like assholes. He was only trying to prevent their further assholism.

But as soon as they got a safe enough distance away, the kids called Bonds a "fat ass" and told him to shut up, though we're guessing they used more colorful diction than that.

If you've ever been mouthed at by a junior tough guy, perhaps you realize how infuriating this can be. There's something about a would-be bad-ass that brings out the dragon in grown men. And this is where Bond got just a little bit out of control.

The boys passed his house again on their way home from the store. But instead of cuffing them around to let them know they're pussies, Bond went with the nuclear option. He emerged from his home with a gun and shot the 17-year-old in the ass.

Apparently this is a technique often used in the fashion world to express displeasure at the look someone's rocking. I believe it was first invented by Tim Gund in an early season of Project Runway.

The bullet went through the kid's butt and out his thigh. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to completely recover. Something tells us he also may reexamine his accessorizing to the tough guy look.

Bonds, meanwhile, has admitted to the shooting. But his lawyers are expected to mount an aesthetic defense, claiming the boys were knowingly inciting any 45-year-old man by working a look that moronic.

There's a reason why jails and prisons surround their facilities with razor-wire fences. Namely because they will rip the living shit out of anyone who tries to climb them. But Clayton Thornburg thought he could defy this basic fact at the Durango Jail in Phoenix...

He was in the slam for a slew of property crimes when he decided to make his break. But being a moron, he figured he could make these charges moot by climbing the five -- count 'em, five -- razor-wire fences surrounding the jail. The funny thing is he actually made it -- kind of.

For some reason the crack jailers didn't notice him scaling the 15-foot-tall fences until he'd made it into a neighboring impound lot. But by that time, the razor wire had torn off all his clothes save for his socks, leaving him bloody and naked on his flight to freedom.

He was arrested just minutes after escaping. How the Maricopa County Sheriff's department didn't notice a naked man climbing all those fences, we're not sure. But after being sent to the hospital, Thornburg was thrown back in the slam. He's now looking at an extra five years, basically a year for each minute of his freedom.

John Mayor, a 45-year-old from New Haven, Connecticut, is from another school of thought...

He was at the Chowder Pot Restaurant in Branford soaking up some delicious American-made liquor when Monte Freire (pictured top) approached the bar to order a beer. Freire, from Nashua, New Hampshire, was in town with his buddies for a baseball tournament when they decided to stop by the Chowder Pot for a late supper.

But it seems Mayor wasn't happy that Freire rooted for the Boston side of the historic Red Sox-Yankees rivalry. The two began to argue, as baseball fans will do. But instead of manning up and going their separate ways -- do you really want to fight over who roots for the more virtuous set of millionaires? -- Mayor pulled a knife and stabbed Freire twice in the neck.

He then tried to bolt the building, but a manager chased him out back. By the time police arrived, Mayor was chucking his knife in the woods, then began fighting with Freire's friends.

This adorable family attending a wedding in Madison, WI stopped to take a picture and got PHOTOBOMBED by a guy robbing their bags. The amazing part? The photobomb was all the evidence they needed to catch him.

After seeing the image on the camera moments later (good thing for digital!) they alerted the police and caught the guy later that day with all their cash, credit cards, cameras, and an iPad.

Authorities say a Pittsburgh-area man robbed a bank wearing a woman’s blond wig, fake breasts under a sweater and clown pants.

Swissvale police say 48-year-old Dennis Hawkins of North Braddock was sitting in a parked car covered in red dye from an exploding packet in a bag of money when he was arrested Saturday.

Police Chief Greg Geppert says Hawkins robbed the bank at gunpoint, using a toy BB gun he had shoplifted from a store.

Geppert says Hawkins then entered a woman’s car. She got out, took her keys and alerted police. Hawkins was found sitting in the car.

He is being held on $230,000 bail. It’s not clear whether he has an attorney.

Maybe someone should tell him if he is going to cross dress he needs to get rid of his facial hair at the vary least. Oh yeah and some better cloths would be good too.

A laboratory technician who allegedly tried to make a quick buck by stealing samples from the sperm bank where he worked has been arrested after a suspicious doctor tipped off police.

S. Mohite, a laboratory worker at Cryobank in Aurangabad city in western India, and a relative, Anil Mohite, tried to sell 101 vials of sperm to a doctor in Mumbai for around $625, Aurangabad police chief Krishna Lal Bishnoi said Tuesday.

The laboratory worker was identified as Sunil Mohite, according to another police official Mohsin Khan.

The doctor declined — then called the police, who arrested the pair Sunday, Bishnoi told The Associated Press.

"The doctor contacted police because they (doctors) usually refer patients to infertility clinics for treatment. They are never approached with sperm vials on sale," said Bishnoi.

Mohite "must have thought he would steal the sperm and establish his own contacts to sell the vials," Bishnoi said.

Cyrobank could not immediately be contacted for comment "Bizarre is the word that comes to mind," said Dr. Aniruddha Malpani. "Anyone would have a hard time selling sperm vials. They must be stored in a liquid nitrogen container. It doesn't make any sense."‘Bizarre’ case

Infertility experts in Mumbai were astounded by the alleged theft.

Malpani said infertility clinics have their own sperm banks and that patients are referred to the clinics by gynecologists.

"An unlabeled vial is worse than useless," Malpani said.

Most clinics pay registered sperm donors about $125 for 10 samples, comprising 20 vials.

The Mohites will be charged with stealing and cheating, and each face up to seven years in prison if convicted, Bishnoi said

In 1997, Deon Francois and his wife Chaamel were married. After five years of trying to conceive a child, the couple went to NYU medical center for help. Deon gave a sperm sample in July 2002. However, before the process could be started, the couple split up in April 2003.

In December 2003, Chaamel presented a notarized release to NYU and underwent in-vitro fertilization. A daughter, Nazir, was born in November 2004.

Deon claims that his signature on the release was forged. The notary claims that Chaamel stole his seal. She claims that Deon knew she was going forward with their efforts to have a child.

After the child was born, Deon was ordered to pay $400 a week in child support payments.

Deon has asked that criminal charges for the forgery not be pressed against his wife.

Deon is now suing his wife, the notary, and NYU, who, he claims, should have destroyed the sperm when he stopped making storage payments. (He claims that his wife kept up the payments until the in-vitro fertilization).

End of story- so far.

Devil Tries to Kill His Landlady!! Duh

28-year-old Jesse Thornhill from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has a surgically altered face that includes a nose job and implants in his forehead to make it appear as if he has horns, piercings in his eye sockets, sculpted indents for sideburns, tattoos for eyebrows, and a graphic wolf neck tattoo. He thought he could run over his landlady with a car and get away with it (he kinda stands out).

According to Thornhill's mother, who lived next door, her son had been having some disagreements with his landlord. That's probably the most believable part of this story. Luckily, she was able to jump out of the way before the car struck. Thornhill was arrested last week (no need for a lineup there) and was later bailed out. He will likely be charged with assault with a dangerous weapon -- the car.

I guess even he devil has trouble with his landlord. The only thing that would have made this story funnier is if he yelled out the window, "I am sending you to Hell, where you can pay me rent, and I wont fix a thing!"

DUI Twice in under 3 hours?? Really Duh

Elsa Veisor, of South Windsor, was first arrested early Saturday around 1:08 am, with a blood alcohol content twice the legal limit. According to reports, the arresting officer found Veisor, who appeared to be drunk, behind the wheel of a running, parked car. Police charged Veisor with driving under the influence, and confiscated her license for 24 hours.

However, shortly after being released on $1,500 bail, cops who responded to the original call found the same woman they arrested earlier driving about a half mile from where her car had been parked. Cops say Veisor was given a second breathalyzer, which registered slightly lower, but was still over the legal limit. She was arrested a second time at around 3:50 a.m., charged with operating under the influence, and operating with a suspended license.

How stupid do you have to be to get arrested for DUI, get released, drink some more, and drive again in under 3 hours?

In Colorado Springs, a man walked into a little corner store with a shot gun and demanded all the cash from the cash drawer. After the cashier put the cash in a bag, the robber saw a bottle of scotch that he wanted behind the counter on the shelf. He told the cashier to put it in the bag as well, but he refused and said "Because I don't believe you are over 21." The robber said he was, but the clerk still refused to give it to him because he didn't believe him. At this point the robber took his driver's license out of his wallet and gave it to the clerk. The clerk looked it over, and agreed that the man was in fact over 21 and he put the scotch in the bag. The robber then ran from the store with his loot. The cashier promptly called the police and gave the name and address of the robber that he got off the license. They arrested the robber two hours later.
I wonder if this guy even realizes just how stupid he is. I mean really your robing the place and you are going to give the clerk your ID yo you can steal a bottle of scotch? But then on the other hand that was some quick thinking by the clerk, and I bet he did not even get a "good job" or a "thank you" from the company.
