Three new online exhibits opening in January - March

Crimson Laurel Gallery will be opening three new online exhibits in January, February and March. The first of the exhibits opening on January 15 is "Damn Fine Valentine" and features great gifts for him and for her. The second online exhibit opens on February 15 and is "Push, Pull" featuring great extruded ceramic work by Hayne Bayless and slip cast pieces by Tom Spleth. Our third online exhibit on March 15 is "Encore" and it features great new ceramics by Alex Matisse.

Christmas in Bakersville

We are having unseasonably warm weather in Bakersville and no snow is scheduled until Christmas day. We will be open daily until Christmas day from 10am to 6pm. We offer free gift wrapping on all holiday purchases. We will reopen on December 26 and be open daily through December 31. Great December Shopping Weather!

We have had a fantastic December. The weather has been very mild this year and this weekend also looks great for holiday shopping. Crimson Laurel Gallery has a great selection of holiday gifts and we're adding new work daily. Recent additions include ceramics by Matt Kelleher, Anderw Massey, Leslie Bradsher, Joe Comeau, Molly Lithgo and Alex Matisse and we also have new pieces coming from Jack Troy. We have also received new jewelry from Matt Willig, Marvin Jensen and Deb Karash and we have new pieces coming from Lisa Cimino. We have a great selection of holiday ornaments from Lisa Bruns, Barry Gregg, Billie Ruth Sudduth and Jim Charnesky.

We just received a new piece from Virginia artist Deborah Roger's entitled "Everyone's a Piggy". This whimsical piece is $695 and can be shipped in time for Christmas. Free gift wrapping is available for this and any purchase at Crimson Laurel Gallery throughout the holiday season.

TRAC Studio Tour December 2, 3 and 4

The Toe River Arts Council Holiday Studio Tour will be held on December 2, 3, and 4 and this year's weather is fantastic. This is a great opportunity to visit Mitchell and Yancey counties in Western North Carolina and shop for fine handmade art and craft for the holidays. Crimson Laurel Gallery of Bakersville, NC was named to have the Best Video, Podcast and Mobile Promotions in the Nation by NICHE magazine’s 2011 Top Retailers competition. Winners were announced in a ceremony at the 2011 Buyers Market of American Craft at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md.

This years fall leaves are outstanding. The mountains around Bakersville are exploding in beautiful fall colors and temperatures are comfortable.
