Opera at Eastgate Theatre

The Eastgate Theatre in Peebles has been able to secure live relay from the Covent Garden of the Royal Opera House for a whole programme of performances. This is the first time that you can attend a live performance in Peebles, albeit relayed, of masterpieces like Romeo & Juliet.

Although the tickets for the first performance are obviously selling quickly, Cringletie has been able to secure a number of tickets. So, if you want to combine a unique theatre experience with an equally unique Cringletie experience, don't wait too long, but take advantage of our combination package of both for £250 in a Classic Room.

This includes Bed & Breakfast, a pre-theatre dinner, and coffee with petits fours after you are back from the theatre.

Dining in the Sutherland Room

The Sutherland Restaurant at Cringletie Hotel is open for dinner from 6.30 to 9.00 pm, seven days a week. As one of the top Peebles Restaurants it is open to both residents and non-residents. A variety of menus are available including an excellent value lunch menu, dinner menu and Chef Patrick Bardoulet's wonderful gourmet tasting menu.

The extensive table d’hôte menu changes with the seasons, using the finest local produce so that the cooking is enhanced by the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. We grow a lot of things in our own Victorian Walled Garden such as soft and hard fruits, a large variety of herbs and carefully selected vegetables; all tended by Cringletie’s gardener.

Our philosophy is to bring to your table the very best of modern cuisine, prepared with Scottish produce and dishes with real flavour for you to enjoy in a spectacular setting.

Available daily is our seven course tasting menu, a sublime feast of some of the best cooking in the Scottish Borders.

On Sundays, this favourite Peebles restaurant is also open for our popular, traditional lunch. Again, this is open to non-residents as well as those staying in the hotel.

We regularly host and organise weddings on an exclusive use basis only, with Cringletie becoming your ‘home’ for the duration of your stay. The exclusive use charge is inclusive of all accommodation, the public lounges, dining room and full Scottish breakfast for upto 26 guests in nine bedrooms, three Junior Suites and one Master Suite (usually reserved for the Bride & Groom). One of the 12 rooms is adapted to cater for wheelchair users and there is a lift which accesses all the floors of the House.

The bedrooms range in style from romantic turret rooms to grander suites, each with stylish furnishings that reflect the colours of the Borders countryside. No two bedrooms are the same - except for the high standards of comfort they offer.
Inside, our graceful reception rooms and elegant Sutherland Restaurant provide the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast and other celebrations. Our location close to Edinburgh city and Edinburgh Airport (half an hour’s drive) makes us convenient for flights to your honeymoon destination too.

The Borders region has a lot to offer and Cringletie House is the perfect location for our wedding guests to explore this beautiful part of Scotland. Special Winter Weddings 2012-2013

In Winter, November to February, we are able to offer you reduced rates for exclusive use.

November is the month for bonfires, fireworks etc. In the November wedding we include Chinese lanterns for you and your guests to release.

December of course is Christmas month; what will be more romantic than having a wedding in a beautiful country house hotel in festive attire! This is just what we are offering this month.

February traditonally is the month for love and lovers; a perfect month to get married at Cringletie with beautiful red rose petals on the tables for the wedding breakfast.
