DOCUMENTARY REVIEW: A/K/A TOMMY CHONG

Take a good look at how our government operates in this revealing documentary, A/K/A TOMMY CHONG. Tommy Chong, famous half of the CHEECH & CHONG comedy duo was systematically targeted in 2005 by U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and his underlings in the Bush Administration. Perhaps they wanted a high profile person of which they could make an example and further their careers. The government used "entrapment" which is supposed to be illegal.

I have personally witnessed government vendettas perpetrated upon a couple of my friends and mentors... not because they did anything illegal, but because our government and it's attorneys wanted to make an example of them to scare others. When I asked one of my friends, "Does our government have the RIGHT to do what they did to you?" He replied, "NO, but they DO have the POWER to do it"! That was in 1998.

As Tommy Chong says at the end of this documentary, (paraphrasing) "I wasn't an activist before they sent me to prison, but I AM ONE NOW." When people ask him what was it like in prison, he says, (paraphrasing again) "Don't worry, you'll find out".

THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES - BOOK REVIEW

This is a touching novel about daughters & mothers, sisters and the Divine Feminine by Sue Monk Kidd. THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES is about a daughter's journey to come to terms with the loss of her mother and her search for a mother's love. The wise black woman, August Boatwright, offered Lily this sage advice, " You have to find a mother inside yourself. We all do. Even if we already have a mother, we still have to find this part of ourselves inside."

In OUT OF AFRICA, Isak Dinesen, said, "all sorrows can be borne if we put them in a story or tell a story about them." My writing A MOTHER'S JOURNEY: To Release Sorrow and Reap Joy helped me deal with my sorrows. It deals with a mother coming to terms with the experiences of her life and the decisions she made which broke her heart. While reading THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES, I was able to experience the feelings of a daughter who thought she was abandoned by her mother which is the other side of the coin in my own story.

This novel is a healing necessity for anyone who has lost a mother, or a daughter or a sister or ever felt abandoned by them.

In THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES, Lily thinks, " I knew then that no matter how hard you tried, no matter how much you thought you could leave your mother behind, she would never disappear from the tender places in you."

I am grateful for this wonderful novel which has touched my heart in ways that cannot be explained. Let it touch yours.

THRIVE: What On Earth Will It Take?- A Documentary - Review

I just watched, THRIVE, one of the most informative and eye-opening documentaries I have ever viewed. I recently heard about it from my publisher and friend in Oregon, so I ordered it from Amazon for $20. This film should win the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE if not film awards all over the world.

This documentary if filled with information which will change the way you see yourself, the earth, the galaxy, energy and life itself. All the people of the earth can THRIVE. We can be a part of making that happen. Watch through to the end so you can see the solutions and how you can make a difference.

In this time of transparency, when the Light is being cast into the Darkness we are able to see clearly what has transpired on the earth for a very long time to cause suffering for most of the population of the world and how WE can be a part of the SOLUTION. See the THRIVE MOVEMENT website.

Open your hearts and minds to the possibilities of what each of us can do in little ways to make a difference and to bring peace and prosperity to our world. YES WE CAN!!!

The Magnesium Miracle - Book Review

Recently I heard about THE MAGNESIUM MIRACLE, a new book by Dr. Carolyn Dean, M.D. N.D. and ordered it from Amazon.com

Over the past 10 years I have experienced some of the "miracles" that magnesium has brought into my life and the lives of my friends. I have been using a topical magnesium gel which is sold online by GLOBAL LIGHT NETWORK. Mainly, I had been using Magnesium Gel to alleviate pain and to relieve heart arrhythmia. I had no idea that many of my other discomforts/symptoms could be caused by magnesium deficiency until I read THE MAGNESIUM MIRACLE. I found that I had 16 symptoms directly linked to magnesium deficiency as I perused the list in Dr. Dean's book. The more I read, the more I learned. I couldn't put the book down. I felt hopeful and grateful for all the research Dr. Dean had done to compile such an important book for the world.

According to Dr. Dean's book, magnesium is a mineral that "regulates more than 323 enzymes in the body" and is essential to the healthy functioning of the human body. The soils in American have been depleted of this essential mineral since the thirties according to a government report (Senate document no. 264, 1936). Since the body cannot make magnesium and a diet high in sugars, dairy and processed foods as well as smoking, alcoholic drinks, prescription drugs and stress all leach magnesium from the body. If this "essential" mineral, magnesium, is not replaced by supplementation, the deficiency can result in many degenerative diseases. The list in THE MAGNESIUM MIRACLE is extensive.

Most doctors are not aware of the widespread existence of magnesium deficiency for many reasons. They are not taught about this in medical school, probably because pharmaceutical companies can't make any money selling magnesium and can make lots of money selling drugs to

I had been depressed for weeks in spite of daily sunshine, water, and rest. During the day I felt that I didn't have the strength in my legs to even climb up the steps into the motor home. After reading, THE MAGNESIUM MIRACLE, I began taking 900 mg of magnesium citrate crystals dissolved in water ( 1 tsp - 2 times a day). In less than 24 hours I felt "happy" and the weakness in my legs was gone. I went to the gym and walked half a mile around the track and worked out on ten exercise machines without any difficulty.

Because taking magnesium orally can cause loose stools, I began taking about 2 ounces of Therapeutic Bentonite Clay solution ( 2 T. in 16 oz of water) each day. Bentonite Clay is also available from GLOBAL LIGHT NETWORK. Using topical MAGNESIUM GEL or MAGNESIUM OIL ( 1 tsp per day applied to the skin) does not cause loose stools. It takes about 3 months with this dosage, to get enough magnesium into the body to counter the deficiency most people have.

In the midst of this amazing time in history, I found THE DIVINE MATRIX by Gregg Braden, to hold the answers to understanding how we can maneuver through these challenging times and make a difference. Author, Gregg Braden explains what the Divine Matirix is and how we can "talk" to It and understand how It is "speaking" to us. This book can help us to create the life we desire to live.

THE EXPECTED ONE by Kathleen McGowan

THE EXPECTED ONE, though fiction, left no doubt in my heart and soul that the stories of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Judas, John the Baptist, Salome and others, as told by Ms. McGowan in THE EXPECTED ONE, are true. This novel could better be labeled "creative non-fiction!"

Having personally communicated with my own Spirit Guides and Others on the Other Side, I know, in my heart, that Jesus (Easa) and Mary Magdalene spoke to Kathleen McGowan directly. It surely was Ms. McGowan's DESTINY to bring forth these books. When the world wants to call people crazy when they "see" and "hear" and "feel" Those in the Spirit World, it takes a lot of courage to share these things. Bravo, Ms. McGowan!

After 2000 years, it is time that the world be taught the "Way of Love" as Jesus taught it. Ms. McGowan IS the "Expected One" of our time.

All three of Ms. McGowan's books, THE EXPECTED ONE, THE BOOK OF LOVE and THE POET PRINCE touched me at my core.

I am grateful to be acquainted with the Mary Magdalene, I have known on some level, through The Arques Gospel of Mary Magdalene as shared in THE EXPECTED ONE. I want to read her entire Gospel now.

Mary Magdalene's account of the "days of darkness" surrounding the Crucifixion in THE EXPECTED ONE triggered deep emotions of grief and sorrow in me.

It is no wonder that Kathleen McGowan's books have become "International Best-sellers". I anxiously await her next release. I know that it will become a personal treasure as her first three books have become for me.

Book Review: Dream When You're Feeling Blue by Elizabeth Berg

DREAM WHEN YOU'RE FEELING BLUE by Elizabeth Berg touched my heart at a deep level. It brought me even closer to my parents who had lived and loved through the sacrifice and uncertainty of World War II.

My handsome father was wounded in France in early 1945 and lived with the physical and emotional scars of war for another fifty years. My beautiful mother made the best of everything until she left this earth and joined my father almost a year ago, just ten days before her 91st birthday.

Ms. Berg's book helped me to understand the life that my parents had lived during that difficult time and why my father never talked about the horrors of war.

I was one of the lucky "war babies" for my "daddy" came home, when so many "daddys" DID NOT.

I thank Ms. Berg for this fine, poignant novel about the "Greatest Generation" and the difficulties they endured and lived through. Ms Berg's novel captures the emotional torment so many couples were subjected to through their forced separations. It is fortunate that we have her book to reflect upon when those who lived through WW II are dwindling in number; and the memories are being lost to the ethers.

Book Review: "Wild Fire" by Nelson DeMille

Nelson DeMille is one of my favorite thriller authors. So that being said, let's get down to his book "Wild Fire".

It is a fascinating and thoroughly engaging fictional story involving the state of affairs regarding terrorists, middle eastern fanatics, the rich and powerful attempting to co-opt National Policy, and dedicated detectives trying to restore order and prevent disaster.

Nelson DeMille's strengths as a writer are in full force here. His novel moves along at a fast pace, with generous information to the reader to make the issues credible and believable. He is informative and direct on point, wasting no space to allow the reader to wallow in technical or boring details. Suffice it to say, DeMille makes it real and threatening, exciting and current to the issues we face today.

Nelson DeMille also writes his characters as flesh and blood. No artifice here. These are guys and gals you can get to know, and you feel as though you do know them. Genuine and heartfelt are the relationships and as any couple would know (even those who are not in law enforcement or the FBI).

I have to admit, I found the story and issue of MAD (the Cold War
policy of Mutually Assured Destruction) as detailed in "Wild Fire" a fine piece of story telling. As a child who grew up under the threat of nuclear retaliation, it was a chilling reminder of where we stood against the Soviets. I dare say, as an option we may (or should?) consider using it against terrorists and the middle eastern states that support and sponsor them. Certainly as a story it adds thrilling angst and calamity on a global scale, not just to a locale.

I highly recommend the book "Wild Fire" by Nelson DeMille. A fine fast paced read, excellent characters, and a thrilling ride of a story. I would not be surprised if it is optioned as a Hollywood movie in the future.
