This crochet pattern could make a lovely dress for your little one this Summer. You can pair the top with jeans and the skirt with any other T-shirt. Mix and match your wardrobe to turn one dress in to many. The top and skirt have lacy patterns but not big enough to show any skin . You can wear the top as it is or with a T-shirt inside. The lacy pattern is so easy to work and uses no complicated stitches. The shoulder strap can be adjusted and tied at the back in a bow. The skirt has an elastic waist with the tie added for embellishment. The top has no side seams and has a button closure at the back. The flower pattern is also included and you can choose whether to add the flowers or not. I found that it works well with certain colors and not with others.

The pink and blue pair is worked in worsted weight yarn but this pattern is written for DK ( size 3) yarn. Pattern using Worsted weight, size 4 medium yarn will be added to this pattern shortly. Once it is updated all the buyers will get a new copy including both the versions.

Alana Lacy Scarf, Free Crochet Pattern

Once the summer sets in I am always thinking of crochet projects that are wearable on sunny days and a lacy scarf turned out to be the perfect project to feed my crochet addiction. You can hardly see me without my scarf and I think it is the perfect accessory to dress up any plain outfit. looking for a mother's day gift? Why not whip one of these real quick? It is a fast growing crochet pattern with all the big gaps and the repetitive pattern would put you at ease instantly. I tried them in acrylic and a blend of cotton, the cotton one came out gorgeous with more stitch definition as you can see in the purple scarf. The red one I whipped up with some leftover baby acrylic yarn and still looks beautiful and light.

The pattern is worked in DK weight yarn with a G (4.25mm) hook. It has tassels at the end and is 60 inches long and 6 to 6 1/2 inches wide. It is very easy to add to the width of the scarf as all you have to do is keep repeating the rows. The tassels at the end are easy to add and you can add as many as you want.

This is my first dress pattern and a lot of work went in to finding the right dress measurements, presentation and adding the finishing touches. The lacy skirt part looks so much prettier in reality and works up really quick without a lot of stitch counting. It is one of those patterns you can work while watching television. I have kept the bodice free of any shaping to make it easier to work and added an adjustable waist tie for a perfect fit. The dress has a border at the hemline which is the same color as the bodice.

Looking for a last minute Christmas gift? This cowl worked in Super Bulky Yarn works up in an hour! Make a pair of matching fingerless mittens using my free pattern and you have a precious pair. This cowl uses only single crochet stitches and requires only basic crochet skills.

I am using super bulky yarn in a crochet pattern for the first time and really enjoyed it. I used Wool Ease yarn from Lion Brand. They come in a range of lovely colors. If you are looking for a cheaper option, Michaels in house brand would be a good substitute. The gorgeous wooden buttons were bought from JoAnn Fabrics and makes the perfect accent. The bigger the button, the better!

When I made my first try of this pattern, the buttons were just for embellishment and were not used for closure. Then I thought it might mess up your hair when you pull it down your neck and thought of making the buttons functional. The crochet pattern uses a braid made with four strips. It involves repeating the same two steps and is a no-brainer once you get the hang of it.

I really enjoyed working on them as the details are so easy to add on a bigger shoe unlike the baby ones which can easily look overdone. Fur is the new fad this season. Fur on hats, mittens, boots, sweaters, you name it! This is my first pattern using fur and the response from my facebook followers was simply put, overwhelming! 978 people liked the picture I posted and staying just short of the magic number 1000. It got me really excited to write this pattern and for the first time I have decided to publish a separate pattern in Toddler sizes as well.

The pattern is far easier than my Classic Snow Boots Pattern with the furry border doing all the work in making it look stylish. I have used Eyelash yarn from Lion brand which is soft despite its spiky appearance.

If you are not comfortable using the eyelash yarn on baby items, Red heart Cloud yarn would be a good alternative. I will be posting a picture with that option soon.

I have always loved Polka Dot fabric and this hat pattern is my crochet version of it. Does polka dot hold its own charm or does the attraction lie in the fact that we subconsciously associate it with Minnie Mouse? It is surprising how a brand name can become so larger than life that it takes the place of the actual object itself. Now that I have seen the connection, I would definitely be making a few in darker color combinations. I had always wanted to try my Bella Ruffled bag in Fuchsia but never found the time. Now, if there were more hours in a day……….

This hat has been a joy to make and gave me the Eureka moment for cracking down how to work a polka dot pattern in crochet. The pattern uses bobbles and Spike Sc and can be classified as advanced beginner. Since the pattern describes with pictures how to work a bobble as well a a spike sc it should be easy for beginner level crocheters too. Please note that a bobble is not a popcorn and is far easier to work though they both look quite similar.

When I designed the flip flops for girls last summer there were some blog readers who asked me if I would make one for the boys. Some readers even went ahead and made the girl's flip flop design in boy colors like blue and brown to suit a boy while others thought the design was very girly with its bumpy strap. So this summer, I decided to make a boy version for my flip flops design. The shoe looks like flip flops at the toe side and a sandal at the back. I had started working on this crochet pattern for boys last summer along with my girl's sun hat pattern but never quite got down to publishing it. I had lost all the written instructions and just had the hat samples left with me. Feeling lazy to rewrtite the pattern, I tried guessing the stitch counts from the finished hats but it was a total disaster! Now I know why people buy patterns and don't try to wing it by looking at the picture. The pattern which looks quite straightforward poses its own challenges when you finally sit down to write it down. This crochet pattern can be used to make hats for both boys and girls. The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches but it can be tricky working with three colors. I have given tips in the pattern to make working with three colors comfortable. I would suggest you use one very bright or dark color and one neutral. Color is changed every round and the yarn is not cut off at the end of the round but carried inside the hat to pick up later which minimizes weaving in the ends. The pattern includes the flower and the braided tassel. If you choose to use only two colors then your hat will have vertical stripes like the black and white shown at the bottom of this post.

Whippig up this crochet pattern was so much fun because I have always had a fetish for bags. I am not in to any other accessories but choosing a bag has always been a herculean task for me. When I started crocheting seriously, bags were my first love. I have no idea how I shifted gears to baby booties. I have always loved bags with ruffles but never owned one and this could be my first. I have left the bag unlined but you can line it if you wish to make it last longer.

This bag is the size of an oversized clutch and just big enough to hold your essentials. The bag is 13 inches wide at the base and 9 1/2 inches tall including the handle. The bag is worked using worsted weight ( size 4 medium yarn) and an H(5mm) and G (4.25 mm) crochet hook. You need to know only the basic crochet stitches and hdc2tog decrease to make this bag. The pattern explains how to work a hdc2tog. The bag is quick to work up as the ruffles use double crochet stitches that makes your work grow quickly.

A lot of you made great suggestions about which colors you would choose for the bag. Some even said they would make each ruffle in a different color. I had decided to stop designing booties with Orchid Sandals and move on to hats and other accessories. I guess designing booties will always be my first love! Since I made this pattern after taking a long break from designing booties, it seemed like a lot of work. You can make this hat in two contrasting colors like I did or make it in just one single color. I have included the pattern for making corkscrews as well as pom poms in the pattern. I suggest you make it with corkscrews for babies and with pom poms for kids and adults. The hat with its stripes would look great on a boy or man without the pom poms too. You can adapt it for a boy or girl by varying the colors. The hat is easy to work up and will leave very few yarn tails. Every step is clearly described with pictures.

Free Crochet Pattern for a Woman's Boa Scarf

I love the grape color used in this scarf and was planning to make a matching hat but before I could grab a couple of more skeins, this color was discontinued ! Well, I am glad I could at least finish the scarf after I frogged a couple of my other projects. I see the stitch on this as a kind of faux loopy stitch that is way easier to work than the original. I can easily visualize this stitch pattern on a throw pillow. If you would make this scarf what colors do you think it would look good in?

The scarf is quick to work up and you need to know only the basic crochet stitches. Pattern uses an I (5.5 mm) hook and worsted weight (size 4 medium yarn) or Aran in UK. I first made this scarf last winter but never found the time to publish the pattern. So here is another one of my UFOs finally seeing the light of the day! For those of you who are not familiar with the crochet jargon UFO didn't mean that I tossed it flying out of the window. It means an unfinished object in crochet. Frogging? It means ripping off your work. The usage came from the fact that "rip it, rip it" sounds like a frog's call. Crochet sure is a fascinating craft, isn't it?

Crochet Pattern for a visor beanie or hat, newborn, baby to adult

This is my fifth hat pattern and I am incredibly happy that it can be adapted for a boy as well. In the boy version the visor is worked in a slightly different way. The flower on the girl's hat is quick to work up and makes a stunning embellishment. If you are making it for a woman you can omit the flower and opt for wooden buttons instead. This hat will keep you warm and make a great photography prop as well. So choose your own colors and make it for every member of the family, young and old!

The pattern includes all sizes from Newborn to Adult. It has instructions for the girl and boy versions and the flower as well. Pattern is worked in worsted weight yarn (size 4 medium), the UK equivalent of which is Aran. It includes pictures of every step to make it easy for even beginners. You need to know only the basic crochet stitches for this one and it works up really quick. It is written in standard American terms.

This is a simple pattern with no frills attached. No other design underlines the principle 'style is minimalistic' more than this one. A great color and a simple flower just adds the right amount of pizzaz. This is worked with worsted weight yarn and Hooks H(5mm) and F(3.75mm). I used Loops and Threads impecabble worsted and Red heart worsted for my samples. Pattern includes instructions for four sizes- 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 months. I love being able to have a pattern that can be used for everybody in the family, so I designed another unisex one. Change colors to make it for your girl or boy. You can work it in a single color and it would look just as beautiful. If pom pom is not your style you can omit that too. I love the texture on this one and I am sure you will too. Scarves are probably the first projects a beginner crocheter would take up. It would give them lot of practice in working the stitches while making something useful. This hooded scarf can be your favorite fashion accessory for winter while keeping you warm and cozy. It is made using a single strand of worsted weight yarn and double crochet stitches making it a quick and easy crochet project. The ridges on the hood give it added texture but you can easily skip that step if you wish. I chose a simple edging for my hood but you can change it to suit your taste. You can try a reverse single crochet edging, a shell edging or even a picot one. I love this mustard color and think the scarf would look great in grey, green or cream as well. You can even work your scarf in the same stitch pattern as your hood. I would love to experiment and make this in a striped pattern, making the ridges in a contrasting color. Lately I have gotten interested in the history of the accessories I make. True or not, here is what I found out about ear flap hats. I had got several requests for hat patterns last winter but never really got the time to design anything other than booties. My dream is to ultimately have all types of patterns for babies, be it booties, hats ,dresses, bibs or blankets. This is one more step in that direction and I had to try really hard to step out of my comfort zone of designing and photographing booties. I figured that photographing dark colors like brown can be as tricky as white but believe me if you ask me my favorite among the two above, the brown one wins hands down. The picture fails to capture its real beauty.This beanie has a nice lacy texture with the gaps kept small. It should be perfect for the not so cold weather. The pattern comes in all sizes from newborn to adult. So you can make it for all the girls and ladies in your family! It works up really quick and is suited for all levels of expertise. The ruffly nature of the flower makes it stand out even with a single layer of petals.

Pattern uses Hooks G ( 4.25mm) for size 6-12 months and Hook H (5mm) for all the other sizes . It is written in standard American terms. Pattern includes all sizes from newborn to adult.
