I ask myself, and perhaps the Canadian government should look into this, what does Canadian Tamil Congress national spokesperson David Poopalapillai have to gain by telling us that his organisation routinely hears tales of woe from Tamils fleeing Sri Lanka.

I reckon his motivation for telling such tales of Tamil woe, has more to do with convincing the Canadian government to cut Tamil asylum seekers some slack, so that he can continue to get his fare share of the human smuggling pie, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam have their fingers in.

Yeah, I think Poopalapillai is on the action that is bringing asylum seekers into Canada by sea, where he benefits financially from it, and that what he is saying now about the Tamils cutting deals with dangerous people and putting their lives at risk, is nothing more than an attempt to protect his own financial interests.

Crooked in Canada believes that Poopalapillai is of the mind that the song and dance he is doing for the Canadian government now, will cause just enough tears to flow among elected MPs  for them to jump on Poops’ bandwagon.

What is it he wants from the feds to do again, cut the asylum seekers some slack, isn’t it.

Yeah, the feds do that and Poops reap the financial benefits that human smuggling brings him, not that the RCMP has found any proof yet that he is cashing in on the plight of those people who either support the LTTE, or who are merely economic refugees looking to build a better life in Canada where the ‘gettin’ is better than it is in Sri Lanka.

What the Tamils seem to be forgetting though is, that it is their actions in Sri Lanka that has made their lives so miserable there. They brought it on themselves.

Now they want to come to Canada where most of them are going to continue their fight against the Sri Lankan government while hiding behind Canadian values and morals.

How many bombmakers are among the people Poops is advocating for, and of them, how many of them have find their way into Canada via the back door already?  Who is asking that question? Who, if anybody from the Canadian Tamil Congress, is going to speak up about that risk to Canadians?

Poops is playing a f**king game, messing with our minds when he goes into his spiel about how bad the Tamils got it and had it in Sri Lanka.

Tamils are the makers of their own fate, and Poops wants Canada to save them so he can use them as a resource, to help the LTTE regroup beyond Sri Lankan borders.

He’s playing Canadians and their government when he says his organisation hears stories about  Tamils who are fleeing Sri Lanka being burned.

There is no law and order within the Tamil culture. They live by their own f**king rules. They do it in Sri Lanka and they are sure as shit are doing it in Canada, those protests where they waved the LTTE flag in their acts of civil disobedience in Toronto and Ottawa a while backing up my words.

Toronto commuters remember all to well the shit they had to put up with just before the LTTE tasted defeat in Sri Lanka.

David Poopalapillai, and this and everything else I have said about him so far is merely my own personal opinion,  is using propaganda to cash in on the plight of Tamils. His only concern is for protecting the cash flow (that would be the Tamils) for the LTTE and himself. He is self-serving.  That is my opinion about the low-life, and I’m sticking to it.

Briton slain over Internet love triangle

I met my ex-wife online in 2003, married her, and we are now in the midst of a divorce.

During our marriage I discovered that some of  what  my wife shared with me online, personal details about herself, values, morals, the headspace she was in, blah, blah, blah–well let’s just say the woman I met online and would later marry, wasn’t exactly the woman she claimed to be as I would learn throughout our marriage.

Of course, love being blind as it, I sloughed off the bad shit she put me through (she could same the same) after I arrived in Australia, wrongfully thinking that she was just going through a phase after breaking up with her first husband, that she would change for the better, realise that I was not one of  ‘those men’ from her past.

The hardest thing for me to swallow these days is, the fact that the personality I met in Tickle and spent hours each day talking to via Yahoo Messenger, not to mention the long distance phones made by her…Well let me just put it this way, I was played by a woman who presented herself to me as somebody it now turns out she was not, and probably never was. I kick myself for letting myself be played that way.

Red flags started popping up for me the day after she met me at the Coolangatta Airport.

What a story we both could tell you, now that we are, in the midst of a divorce. It has taken six years, but at least now, my wife and  I are out the mess.

FYI for those of you wondering if I presented myself online as the ‘real me’ in the hours and hours of conversations my wife and I shared online for nine months; absolutely–in fact my wife often carried on (telling everybody we met while we were a couple) about how much I was like the person she met online, that the kind of person I presented myself as being to her, was in fact the person she was married to. Don’t believe me, perhaps one day you might get the chance to ask her about that yourself.

Funny how she is singing a different tune now. That all changed when our marriage started to fall apart. That was right about the time she began making male friends in Facebook.

However, my story doesn’t compare to the story John Lorne McDonald’s ghost could tell, albeit in his story he never got to spend a lot of time getting to know the woman he fell in love with online and was ready to propose to when he flew to the Philippines to meet her.  There was no real learning curve if you know what I mean.

My own story pales in comparison to this poor guy’s story, and the only comparison I can make between his story and mine is that we both fell in love with a woman via the Internet who kept secrets from us; the secret my wife kept from me having more to do with what she knew I didn’t want if I was going to become romantically involved with her, and absolutely nothing to do with a secret lover–though she did have an ex-boyfriend who she would indulge when he called her up all hours of the night to you know, chat. He did that, despite the fact he knew that the woman he still had feelings for, was involved with another man she was intent on marrying.

The ex-boyfriend continued to call her even after we married, not getting the message, I gave him when I told him not to call her anymore; that his ex-girlfriend had moved on. I told him that during what I thought were happier times in our marriage. I encouraged my wife to do same, but she declined, making it perfectly clear to me that when it comes to men she would do whatever she felt like.

That said, it’s a good thing that my wife’s ex-boyfriend wasn’t as jealous as McDonald’s would-be-bride, otherwise I wouldn’t be around to share what I just shared with you. Like me, this McDonald guy got played big time. He’s dead now.

McDonald met his would-be-bride Nanqueen Romero in an Internet chat room.

Impoverished women from the Philippines, they are known to use matchmaking websites to find foreign husbands in the hope of finding a better life. Thinking that’s what Romero was up to online.

McDonald and Romero would have spent a lot of time together online getting to know one another. They would have talked about their hopes, their dreams, and then there is the more intimate and personal details of their past they would have shared.

That’s what couples who fall in love over the Internet do. Trust me, I know what goes on between a man and a woman who meet online, after all I lived through the experience.

Romero kept something from her Internet lover though, and in the end, it got him killed.

Anyway, the details of what went down between McDonald and Romero are sketchy, the story just breaking.

What Crooked in Canada does know is that Romero may have failed to mention during her online chats with her lover that, she had a boyfriend–an apparent jealous one at that. She would have been looking out for number one–that better life she was using McDonald to escape to, being her motivation to keep such a secret.

McDonald, upon his arrival to the Philippines, organized a party at which time he was going to propose to Romero.

The ‘secret boyfriend‘, Anselmo Locastales, is now in police custody.

He crashed that party and stabbed to death the man who was asking his girlfriend for her hand in marriage.

His girlfriend received multiple stab wounds in the attack, but was fortunate enough this time to escape with her life, this time.

The way this poor woman is being treated in Canada is f**king pathetic

So an eighty-seven-year-old Canadian war bride walks into the Surrey passport office more than 20 years after she began receiving her Canadian Pension Plan benefits and her old age security. There should be know doubt in anybody’s mind, working in the Canadian government that is, that Priscilla Corrie is whom she says she is and that having previously held a valid Canadian passport, well there should be a record of that too, right.

In the Surrey passport office, there stands before her ‘all these other immigrants who can’t even speak English, getting their passports.”  Mrs. Corrie, a woman who paid her fair share of Canadian taxes over 40 plus years at the very least, is denied her passport.

There is obviously something very wrong with that picture, Mrs. Corrie’s experiences compared to that of those goddam Tamil asylum seekers, painting a clear picture of just how wrong the priorities of the Canadian government are after they are elected to look out for and after, the best interests of Canadians and Canada first, while on the taxpayers’ dime.

Shame on the Canadian government for putting non-Canadians seeking government services, most of whom have no way of proving who they are themselves unless of course they are carrying forged and fraudulent documents, first. Like what a f**king slap in the face delivered to Canadians, never mind Mrs. Corrie.

F**k, the feds are bending over backwards to accommodate the MV Sun Sea boatpeople, and yet a deceased Canadian army veteran’s widow, a woman who not only was a productive member of society and paid her taxes, is denied something she possessed in the past, because she can’t provide the passport office with her birth certificate which went down with the ship her father was sailing on, and because she can’t provide proof of her entry into Canada in 1947.

So if that is the reason for denying this poor woman‘s passport application, how in the f**k was this woman able to you know, stake her rightful claim to CPP benefits, her old age pension, and how was she able to obtain a passport before?

Call it bureaucracy if you must and political indifference if you want to, but as far as Crooked in Canada is concerned, what the passport office is doing to Mrs. Corrie, knowing full well that she already exists in ‘their system’, is an affront to all Canadians who have been useful and contributing members of Canadian society for most of their lives; that being a Canadian taxpayer thing coming to the forefront of my mind again.

Human smugglers have one less Internet resource to shop from after online marketplace Craigslist closed down their controversial ‘adult services’ listing in the U.S.

It’s about f**king time as far as Crooked in Canada is concerned, but the move doesn’t go far enough–the black and white bar that says ‘Censored, an erotic service still active outside the U.S.’ backing up my mouth.

All is not lost for human traffickers however, those involved in the sex trade still able to shop outside the U.S.

Craigslist founder Craig Newmark doesn’t have the balls to do the right thing by those too naive to know better when it comes to the dangers lurking on the Internet, the Craigslist Killer who committed suicide last month coming to mind.

If Newark was willing to shut down the adult services listing in the U.S., what stopped him from doing it globally?  Hmm, Crooked in Canada is kind of wondering what he might have to gain by keeping the listing active in other countries.

Maybe it’s the attention he is getting, or, maybe he’s cashing in–you know, financial benefit. I bet that somewhere among his many associates, there might be a couple of individuals who are greasing his palm in other countries to keep the ‘adult services’ listing active.

There’s a reason he’s keeping those listing active in other countries, and I hardly think it has to do with ‘making a statement’ or standing up in the interest of the Internet community.

Having just seen a picture of the bloke, CG reckons that Newmark looks a little creepy, and that he might be the kind of person who is willing to compromise his own morals and values if there is something in it for him.

Crooked in Canada wouldn’t be surprised to hear later on down the track that Newmark has made financial gains from the controversial listing, just not in the U.S. where authorities have been breathing down his neck for sometime now.

Thinking that shutting down the U.S. listing was no f**king sweat off his ass.

Newmark hasn’t said why he shut down the listing, but a statement from chief executive Jim Buckmaster is expected in coming days. Of course, it goes without saying that Buckmaster is going to say whatever his boss tells him to say.

Newmark calls the shots at Craigslist and Buckmaster is merely his puppet. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say. I’m especially looking forward to hearing why they didn’t shut down all the adult services listings.

Last week 17 U.S. attorney generals fired off a letter to Craigslist in which they said women and children would ‘continue to be victimised in the market and trafficking provided by Craigslist’.

Another boatload of asylum seekers, the second in three days as a far as this blogger knows, has been intercepted by the HMAS Glenelg. There are 59  passengers on board and according to Border Protection Command, they are headed to Christmas Island where they will undergo health, security and identity checks, the latter two checks being nothing more than a farcical exercise in separating the bad from the good, and then sending their sorry asses back to wherever it is they came from.

Like seriously, how do they do that when the people they are checking out don’t really have to prove who they really are, only from where the come from and the purpose of their journey. It’s not like there is any way of finding out if they really are who they say they are, you know, coming from countries where accurate and credible files aren’t likely to be kept on every civilian born it those countries country.

Crooked in Canada reckons that there is no way of really knowing who the f**k these people are and what they have gotten up to in their homeland. All the investigators have to go on is what the asylum seekers tell them, and you know that they aren’t exactly go out of their way to tell the truth about themselves, not when it comes to convincing investigators that they should be allowed to stay in Australia.

There is no way of knowing who they really are, nor is there anyway of finding out what kind of national security threat they pose, and if you are naive enough to think otherwise, you’re dumber than a bag of hammers.

Like I said the other day, all asylum seekers taken into custody should be sent back to where they came from–no ifs, ands or buts about it.

Better to be safe than sorry later if you know what I mean.
