Challenge #59: Is it Blooming outside?

With strange weather hitting everyone around the globe, you might have noticed some flowers starting to bloom. Have you? If they are not blooming in your garden, they WILL be blooming on your projects this week. This week's challenge is to have AT LEAST 3 flowers in it. You may choose any kind of project and any kind of flowers, but we want to see them bloom on your project!

Our DT has been working like little bees making sure we have a wonderful bouquet of samples.

The tutorial that I am sharing with you today is a fun one using Sizzix Bicycle Framelits and matching Hero Art Stamps, from the CropStop Store, on recycled plastic. I keep a whole cabinet of cardboard from mailings and plastic packaging from scrap goodies to test out ideas just like this. I really like how my project turned out and hope that you do too!

"Scor Tape" with Rosemary

Do you have bottles of loose glitter sitting around collecting dust? I have lots of them, because frankly, I hate using them and having glitter all over the place.

Well, here's an easy and fairly clean technique to use up those loose glitters and add sparkle to your cards!

You'll need Scor tape (the sheets work awesome for this technique), loose glitter, and a sharp craft knife.

First, you'll want to color up your image. I used the fabulous Craft Concepts 5th Avenue Glam, Sophia's Garden Embossing Folder and embossed the image onto white cardstock. Then I colored the sky and grass with chalks.

Next, I turned the cardstock over to the backside, and using a sharp craft knife, I cut out the areas where I wanted to apply glitter. (Flowers and butterfly)

Now, you will want to grab your Scor Tape...the stickiest stuff ever!

The Scor Tape Sheets would be perfect here, but all I had was the 1/2" roll.

Apply the Scor Tape over the cut outs.

Turn your image over, pour your loose glitter over the sticky areas, and press the glitter into the Scor Tape with your non manicured finger. You can use this technique with various types of glitter, small beads, Flower Soft, Fun Flock, etc.

Shake the excess off in the trash. You may have to gently rub off the surrounding glitter with a tissue.

Here's my finished glittery and sparkly easel card!

I used the same technique on TGF Merman Ian's hair.

There are so many uses for this awesome technique. I hope you try it out on your next creation!

Time for our 2nd challenge of the New Year! This week, we want to see a quote on your challenge project. There are lots of "quotables" to be had. Whatever you choose, be sure to give credit to the owner of the quote. Visit the RULES tab in the blog sidebar to be sure your entry qualifies for our gift certificate prize!
