Thanks for being part of moving forward!

Thank you, everyone who was part of our Super Service Sunday meetings yesterday. I have only begun to hear from our team leaders about how your meetings went. It's always nice for me, as pastor, to be able to share the facts and figures there is just not time to talk about on Sunday morning. So, thank you, thank you, thank you for making these important meeting part of your week! Please be praying for your ministry team leader as we work hard to prepare for our Grand Re-Opening this fall.
How are you going to love this week?

Yesterday morning we talked about Jesus' command for us to love one another. We read about how Jesus love the people in his life. As you think about this week, who in your life is hurting? Who has a need you can meet? Who needs your encouragement to keep an eternal perspective? I want to encourage you to stop for about 2 minutes - set a timer if you need to - and think about how Jesus loves us. How does Jesus' love encourage you to love someone? If you thought of someone you need to encourage or meet a need for, stop reading this email and go take care of them. I promise this email will still be here for you to read later.

Construction Update

Work keeps moving forward! It's pretty shocking how much bigger our worship center is going to be, and these pictures are just the beginning. I can't wait for you to see how much more space we have! These pictures just don't do it justice.

An Opportunity to Serve

4th of July Fireworks

We still need a few more people to commit to helping with 4th of July. The Chamber of Commerce is renting 9 inflatable games and asked if we could round up volunteers to help take care of them. (They will be right outside our front door.) This will give us a GREAT opportunity to talk with people about CrossRoads and listen for spiritual questions. Please take a minute to let us know how you can help using the form below.Please note that we have a minor time change. The Chamber of Commerce will open their inflatable games at 5pm, so we have to change our times to 5pm-9pm. (Fireworks will be at 9:30.)

Improving Your Serve!

Thanks for being part of a great Sunday.

We had a great Sunday yesterday at CrossRoads. So many of you braved the rain to talk about prayer with us. I want to follow up the ideas we talked about by simply encouraging to make prayer part of every moment of your life. When you face a challenge this week, say a quick prayer asking God for his wisdom and power to excel. When you are frustrated, ask God to help you overcome. When you think of someone you love, ask God to work in a particular circumstance in their lives, or ask him for his direction and protection for them. And, as you pray, remember that God is our loving Father who wants to hear from his children and delights in working in our lives - always for our best and the best for his Kingdom. (The Bible tells us those are always the same thing by the way.) Don't miss next Sunday as we talk about Jesus' command to Love One Another.
Construction Update

Make sure to take a minute each week to peek in on our remodel. This past week they got the walls in place for our new children's classrooms. As you see progress, please remember we are working on raising an additional $10,000 to help offset the additional expenses required by the city.

Here are some pictures of the progress:

The first picture is the view from the future front door looking down the hall toward children's classrooms. The foyer into the worship center will be to the right (through our current wall). The next two pictures are of future children's classrooms. They are both easily twice the size of most of our children's rooms. The third picture is from the back looking toward the front door. When construction is complete, the current bathrooms will be just to the left (through our current wall).

Super Service Sunday THIS SUNDAY

This coming Sunday, June 29th, we will have a special Sunday to focus on improving all our areas of ministry. Right after church we will have lunch for your family. Then, we will take a few minutes to talk about where we are as a church and where we are going. Then, we will meet as ministry teams to work on serving better. We will wrap up no later than 2:30. I hope you can make it.

Your family can be part of changing the world... seriously!

Many of you were able to be part of our service this weekend as we told you about an exciting new opportunity to get involved with World Relief. World Relief is an organization that assists refugee families from all over the world settle into their new lives here in the Fort Worth area. We are putting together a team of people who will commit to being involved in the lives of new families for their first three months in our country. This is something you can do as a family to make a difference together. It's not too late to let us know if you are interested. Just send a note, and we'll get you more information: info@crossroadsfortworth.org.

COMING SOON

Youth Summer Camp, June 9-14

All teenagers (who complete 6th-12th grade this school year) are invited for a week of meaningful fun and making new friends this summer. Cost $200 for the whole week.

Pray for our teenagers as they get ready to go. We have several teenagers whose families cannot afford the expense of camp this year. Please let me know if you can help. If you have questions or are able to help, send a note: info@crossroadsfortworth.org.

TOMORROW, May 3rd, 8:00-3:00

Ladies, you are all invited for a day of service and fun that begins tomorrow morning (May 3rd) at 8:00 am. You will begin your morning with muffins and coffee at the church. Then, you will head to Cornerstone Assistance Network to serve helping their thrift store. After lunch at the Fort Worth Food Truck Park, you have some super-secret fun in store. Did you know God wants you to share incredible romance with your spouse? For some reason we often fall for the idea that all the fun stuff is over when we say, "I do." Nothing could be farther from the truth!

This Sunday morning we are continuing our series, Back to the Good Ol' Days, by talking about how we don't have to give up on those good ol' dreams about finding the person to be our best friend and romantic partner for life. Don't miss it. It's going to be a blast!

Invite a Mom for Mother's Day at CrossRoads

Mother's Day is coming up Sunday, May 11th. Make sure to be inviting your friends and family. We will have a special gift for the mom who brings the most people with her as well as a gift for one of our new guest moms.

I'm glad we had a full house this week as we talked about communion. What an incredible reality that God would use something as simple as bread and juice to miraculously convince us of the restoration and forgiveness we have in Christ. If you didn't get to experience it this week, come share communion with us this Sunday.

THIS SUNDAY: BACK TO ROMANCE

How many fairy tales end with: ...and they lived happy until they just didn't love each other anymore? Or, have you ever talked with a bride and groom before a wedding who told you they hoped to try real hard and make it last a good seven to ten years. No way! From the time little girls start hearing about princesses they begin looking for the handsome prince who will sweep them off their feet and give them their happily ever after. And guys, let's be honest, most of us dream of being that knight in shining armor who never turns his back on the woman he saves from life's perils. So what goes wrong? Are we simply incapable of keeping the promise that we make at the altar?

Wherever you find yourself in the world of romance, I want to invite you to come this Sunday to hear how life in Christ offers us new dreams and promise for romance that can last a lifetime!

LADIES' RETREAT - THIS SATURDAY, MAY 3RD

Ladies you are all invited for a day of fun and service this Saturday. All our ladies will meet at the church at 8:00 am and be back by 3:00 pm. The cost will be $15 plus lunch at the food truck park in Fort Worth. From a great crowd to good news to beautiful weather, I can't remember a better Easter at CrossRoads!

Thank you for being part of a great Sunday at CrossRoads. Except for a few seats up front, our 11 am service was packed. After some great music, we talked about the salvation God offers us in Jesus. What a wonderful reality - that Jesus received all the punishment we deserve when he died on the cross and not even death could defeat him! Wow, what an incredible moment we remember when we celebrate Easter (really, every time we come together to worship). Then, of course, we hunted Easter Eggs!

If you were encouraged our Easter message, don't miss this Sunday! We will be talking about what exactly happens when we share The Lord's Supper (or Communion) together. When we do something as simple as consume bread and a little grape juice, God shows up to do something supernatural in our lives. This Sunday we will will talk about how he uses this unremarkable ceremony to miraculously change us. I hope you can make it. Understanding this truth could, literally, change your life!

It's been a fun week as we have been preparing for a couple big Sundays!

Ok, so the weather kept the park from working out, but we had a great time anyway. Thank you Bryan, George and Chris for taking care of all that great meat! Thank you everyone who brought all the trimmings. All the food was great! The company was even better. I got a few minutes to get to know a couple new families. It was great to get to know you! Parents, it was fun to have your children in the service with us. I know we got a little silly with some of our music, but it was great to see the grins on your kids' faces. I hope all our Kids' Workers enjoyed a Sunday off. We REALLY APPRECIATE your service week in and week out. We couldn't do church without you!

Church moved to the Church Tomorrow - April 6

Weather doesn't look good tomorrow, so it's time to move Church at the Park to Church at the Church. Here's the plan:

Nothing has changed except the location. We will still begin at 10:30 (rather than our usual 11:00 start time). We will still have a special family service what lots of fun for your children and a great message about God's gift of joy for our families. We will still take time to tell our Preschool and Children workers "thanks" for the great work they do every Sunday. We will still have lunch together immediately following the service (about 11:15 or so). The only difference is that we will meet at the church rather than the park. So, re-invite your friends and family and let them know that we are going to have a great time, it just won't be at the park.

It's been at exciting week as we have been getting ready to have church at the park this Sunday morning. Just to make sure you are up to speed, this Sunday we will get together at 10:30 (instead of 11:00) at Linda Spurlock Park if the weather plays nice. We will make a call by lunchtime Saturday. We will let everyone know via Facebook and Twitter if we will be meeting in the park or at the church. Either way we will begin at 10:30. Our plan is to have lunch about 11:15. We will take some time to thank our Preschool and Children workers and preview Easter Sunday. It's going to be a blast. I hope your family can make it!
