/images/resized//article_26137_615x0_proportion.png?1369404338
Amazon announced on Wednesday that they would soon be launching a new service called Kindle Worlds, which would allow fanfiction authors to publish their works on the Kindle store and receive royalties from sales. They've made deals with the owners of the original content ("World Licensors") to allow independent authors to create their own stories and characters within that world and share the profit from their creations. Depending on the word count, authors can earn between 20 to 35% of all base net revenue.

Tags: amazon, amazon-kindle, author, fan-fiction, fanfiction, gossip-girl, kindle-worlds, paid, the-vampire-diaries, write

Comments

A key blocker for any Waze acquisition has been apparent investor conflict over the terms of any deal, with questions about whether the crowdsourcing platform - Waze would move fully to the U.S. or keep R&D in Israel causing disagreements.

This summer, as Budweiser donates up to $1.5 million to the Folds of Honor Foundation*, the brand is crowdsourcing to help choose which U.S. states could receive a portion of the proceeds. The iconic brand is asking adult beer lovers to:

-Download Blippar from the iPhone store or Google Play.

-"Blipp the Bowtie" by opening the app and aiming the smart phone screen at the Budweiser bowtie logo found on all Budweiser packaging, including the new "red, white-and-blue" packaging now in stores.

-Pick a U.S. state to help determine where a portion of the philanthropic support could be directed.

Project Travel partners with academic institutions, non-profit and third-party program providers to help more students and program participants go abroad, while directly advising them on how to successfully peer-fund and offering online international education resources. The fundraising platform launched its private beta in January 2013 and has been honing the online experience for travelers in preparation for its public launch. Taking advantage of current web design trends and online crowd-funding best practices, the platform offers a user-friendly way for Project Starters to connect with potential donors and supporters.

That's not the case with SkyMotion, which benefits from inheriting the large database of users who had downloaded previous versions of the app. We don't have to build a database of observers from scratch," said Sky Motion Research CEO, Maxime Julien. "We're one of the most sophisticated weather apps on the market."

Open Garden fundamentally changes the way existing spectrum is used and the turnkey product helps solve the long-existing challenge US carriers are facing called spectrum crunch.

"Open Garden shatters the current perception that spectrum is forever limited and that Wi-Fi access will always be compromised. Historically, the more devices on the cellular network, the weaker the connection becomes for everyone," said Open Garden's CEO and co-founder, Micha Benoliel. "Because Open Garden has an entirely new and radically different approach to providing mobile Internet connectivity through its software, the network improves as the number of connected devices grows."
