The first thing that grabbed my eye in this wedding…shoes! Now, I’m not your typical girl–falling head over heels (no pun!) for a fabulous pair of shoes. Actually, shoe shopping is one of my least favorite kinds of shopping to do. I think it stems from when I was little–they never had my size or width and all I really wanted to do was ride on the merry-go-round at the shoe store. Also, after living in Cayman for so long, there is a lot more flip-flop action going on a regular basis.

Anyway, the color of these shoes are eye catching. Such a beautiful shade of purple–they aren’t just your regular bridal shoes now, are they?

By the way, I am loving this purple and yellow color palatte. Two rather strong colors and really gorgeous as a combo!

Simple and absolutely gorgeous!!!

Crystal Blue Monday Mini :: Shoe Check

So a few people commented on last week’s fashion post about the shoes and how they are not appropriate for the sand. Yes, I agree–one would not walk in stilettos down the sandy aisle however, one may want them for the reception and dancing the night away!

If that is the case, here’s a solution–have a shoe check at your wedding! That way, your guests can feel comfortable and appropriate taking their shoes off and putting their feet right in the sand!

Here’s a cool one I found on–guess where–Pinterest, of course!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Lindsay and Jonathan

Morning lovelies! How is everyone on this fine day? Hope all is well and you’re gearing up for a great weekend!

We are excited to share this beautiful wedding with you today–just loving the colors and the fine details–I know you will too! These two are high school sweethearts (awwww!) and chose Cayman for their wedding because, as they say, it represents their relationship–”easy and breezy”! How great is that??

How about this sunset colored bouquet? The calla lily-rose combination is beautiful and the colors really do mimic the early part of sunset. Gorgeous!

I have never seen bridesmaid dresses like this…in a word AWESOME! I absolutely love them!

Loving the charger plates and the menus–look at the little drawings that accompany the words. Too cute!

The ceremony took place at the Westin beach on Seven Mile Beach with the reception at the Wharf. The couple and their guests enjoyed a fabulous meal, some island-y cocktails and danced the night away!

Using overseas providers

In today’s Cayman Compass there is an article regarding photographers coming off cruise ships and how they do not have the right to work in the Cayman Islands unless they have been granted a work permit.

You can read the article here but the point they are making is not limited to cruise ship photographers.

I bring it to your attention since many of you are in the planning phases of your wedding and you might be considering using providers who are local to you and flying them to Cayman for the wedding festivities.

We are lucky enough in Cayman to have a wealth of talented providers who time and time again prove they are amongst the best of the best. From photographers to florists to musicians to beauty, and everything in between, not only will you find a provider who can help you but you will absolutely not compromise anything with regard to creativity, talent and quality.

And if you do still decide to bring someone, make sure you know the legal requirements and have all of the paperwork and documentation in place.

Crystal Blue Monday Mini :: Fashion

I know–don’t fall off your chairs or anything. This might be a first for me, posting something about fashion. Here’s why…I am absolutely not a fashionista. I admit it and embrace this fact and therefore, I am truly scared to ever post anything about fashion up here in the event that it is “so 10 years ago!”

Now I’m not saying I’m the perfect candidate for TLC’s “What Not to Wear” but hey, who wouldn’t want $5,000 and two fashionistas showing you how to dress along with hair and makeup? I wouldn’t turn it down.

Anyway, enough about me…today’s Monday Mini is a little ensemble I found that I thought would be perfect for a destination wedding! For a casual bride, a bridesmaid or even a guest. Hope you enjoy!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Eliza and Davis

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you’re all having a good week. Today’s real wedding of Eliza and Davis has it all…Vera Wang, bow ties, and of course, a beautiful couple!

I love this first photo…I count 6 cameras in addition to the photographer’s camera. Paparazzi are here!! I love all of the different shades of blue worn by Eliza’s bridesmaids and who wouldn’t think that hair is gorgeous?

In keeping with nature, Eliza chose whites and greens for the flowers. Celebrations did a wonderful job putting together these beautiful arrangements!

These girls are the cutest! I love the sand bucket, but even more, I love their smiles!

This photo really reflects the style of the day. Eliza told me she was looking for simple and elegant…how much more simply elegant can you get?

Crystal Blue :: Why did you choose Grand Cayman for your wedding?

E&D :: Cayman is a special place to the Maxwell (Groom’s) family. Davis’ Aunt and Uncle, own the Aggressor Fleets and lived in Cayman for 30 years. Davis came to Cayman to work on the Cayman Aggressor for a year. Once we decided to have a destination wedding we knew Cayman was the perfect spot! Not only sentimental but also absolutely beautiful.

Crystal Blue :: Tell us about your dress! It’s absolutely stunning!

E&D :: I actually wore my sister- in- law’s gown! We are the exact same size and she had the most beautiful Vera Wang gown. I change the style to make it fit for the beach and not a church ballgown. I also scalloped the straight tube top, and shortened the bow and train. I had a veil made to match perfectly with lace around the edges to have something of my own!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Paris and John

I’ll give you one guess as to why I fell in love with this wedding at first look. That’s right folks, hhheeellloooo, it’s my signature color! How fab is that???

Paris and John were married at Grand Old House with not only the beautiful blue water as their background but beautiful aqua blues throughout!

Walking down the aisle to Mike Lamay on the steel drum–you can’t get more Caribbean than that!

I love how their names are etched in to the sand bottle. Instantly turns it into a keepsake from their ceremony!

Now there’s that background!!! Absolutely stunning you two–thank you for letting us share!
