Very Pleased - Gets the Job Done, October 22, 2011
I have used these filters in my whole house filter system for the last three years and have been very pleased with their utility. Our water system is fed by a municipal well and these filters have prevented dirt, sand and other smaller sediment from entering our pipes. For drinking, I have added supplemental charcoal filtering at the kitchen faucet and fridge. Finally, these filters easily last six months for us with no noticeable loss in pressure/flow.

We have been using these filters for 10+ yrs. We have a well and change the filters out about 3 sometimes 4 times w/in a yr. The town we live in is very small so the local businesses charge u a burial fee just for ONE of these filters. Well i bought 3 of these filters PLUS FREE shipping. Moved into home that had a well pump. Was told that there was not maintenance on the well. That was bad advice. The filter should be changed 2-3 times a year. Our filter broke and we had all kinds of dirt in the water when bathing. Ordered new filter and gasket on amazon and had it day and 1/2 later. New one works great. After I found that it fit our system perfectly I have signed up for the subscription so I should be getting a new one every 6 months. I also ordered a backup one to put on the shelf in case I need one sooner.

I waited 6 months before making my comments so I know it's not in my head. This filter has changed my life. My coffee and tea used to never taste right. It's been going on for several years and I was blaming the coffee and tea companies of cheapening their products. I was wrong. years. Now after getting this filter, I haven't had one bad cup of coffee or tea. My only regret is I haven't bought one sooner....much sooner.Also much cheaper HERE than in local stores.

The filter was easy to install with no leaks. The filter exceeded my expectations in terms to quality and durablity. The filter comes with a D20 filter but I also purchased the D30 because our city uses well water which has a bad taste and smell. I compared both filter and the D30 eliminated both the bad taste and smell.

I liked the idea of saving money spent on pitcher water filters. I bought this filter along with the Amazon recommended Watts faucet since customers complained about the other Culligan complete kit using a plastic faucet which breaks easily. This kit comes with a D20 filter, couple feet of 3/8" hose, two 3/8" 90 elbow quick-connects, and screws to mount to inside of cabinet.

If you plan on using this to filter all cold water from your faucet I recommend going to the hardware store to buy some brass compression fittings to adapt over to the 3/8" plastic tubing and then back again after the filter. It seems too many people are trying to get the quick-connect fittings to grip their copper pipe or tubing. In all honesty, I would not expect the quick-connect teeth to hold onto copper with high water pressure. The tiny teeth are meant to grip plastic tubing and once connected it's nearly impossible to remove without damaging it.

Likewise, if you're going to add a seperate drinking faucet you'll want to go to the hardware store to buy a brass tee which fits your current piping. Make sure the side takeoff of the tee is 3/8" compression which you'll use to run to the filter and then up to the drinking faucet. Connect your old faucet to the top of the tee. This is easy if you have a newer faucet with threaded compression nuts. Look for something called Adapt-a-tee which is a tee with a compression nut on one end and male compression threads on the other two ports.

Personally, I would prefer threaded fittings on this filter. I really don't see how it's worth trusting customers with the quick-connects when real compression fittings are easy to use and you can simply tighten them to stop leaks. I have no idea how long the gaskets last in the quick-connects and once put together they can't easily be taken apart. Most people don't even realize just how far they have to push for a complete seal.

Since I have a completely seperate line for my ice maker coming from the basement I bought a second filter for behind the fridge. I refuse to pay $30+ for a refrigerator filter that only lasts 6 months when these cheap babies last 12 months! To make things easier I installed the under-sink filter first, flushed the include D-20 filter element to get all the loose carbon out of it, and then re-installed the flushed D-20 cartridge into the fridge filter. It would be nearly impossible to get all the loose carbon out using the fridge water/ice system. Afterward, I installed a new D-30 element into the under-sink filter and flushed that.

Both D-20 and D-30 cartridges made our water taste better but I wanted the extra filtering for the faucet and will use the cheaper D-20 for making ice. The D-30 did slow down the water pressure a little bit compared to the D-20 but with our water pressure it's just right.

Excellent filter and easy installation. The compression fittings work great. I did not use this under the sink, but instead installed it behind the refrigerator. I expect the filter to last even longer since I will not be filtering as much water as I would under the sink. I did buy a higher quality filter to go with it. The water taste great!

got this dispenser and returned the pur pitcher. the pitcher's cover was way too hard to remove and the capacity was low. for this dispenser, fill it once and it last us several days until the next refill. the cover opens easily. worth it. water tastes great!

I bought this water dispenser for my apartment at school, which I shared with 4 other girls. It's a great size, fits nicely in the fridge, and consistently provided delicious water. My roommates had used the typical Brita pitcher before I brought this into the apartment, and they loved it. It doesn't have to be refilled nearly as often as a pitcher, and the design makes it easy to carry to the sink. I remember purchasing this product from Amazon last year for about $25, which was a great price. It looks like the price increased a bit, but it's definitely worth it in my opinion.

We already had a Pur water pitcher that needed a replacement cartridge. But instead of buying a replacement cartridge I decIded to get this instead as one filter came with it. The main reason was however that my mom is disabled and when she cked to tr counter in her wheelchair to get water it's hard for her to hold the regular pitcher and fill the glass to get water, especially since she has Rheumatoid Arthritis. It makes it difficult to hold the glass and the heaviness of a water filled pitcher. This solves that problem an the water tastes great as it should. My Mom was so thankful that she can now get water with ease on her own and dies have to have a glass already filled with water with a cover over it sitting on the counter! I imagine this would also be wonderful for small children as they could get water easily also. O you put this in the fridge (ours is outside) then you'll have fresh cold water to drink!

Here is the quick fix for a leak, March 15, 2011
If your My K-Cup leaks, slide the rubber gasket located around the top needle down the needle just a bit. It will take you 2 seconds and will totally solve the leak you may be having.

I didn't find this out on my own - a post in the reviews below helped me. I just wanted to repeat it because it was so easy and fixed the problem perfectly!

If you're new to the Keurig machine, you're likely enjoying the convenience and selection that comes with purchasing K-Cups. After the first few months or so you'll start loathing the trips to the store, feeling like you've been "had" by yet another kitchen gadget that ties you in to buying the special "thing" to keep it running. The re-usable K-Cup solves this problem AND brews up a better cup of coffee than any pre-packaged K-Cup. It does take some commitment; you have to clean the filter after (or before) each use. (No different than a traditional coffee maker, really) All in all, I strongly recommend this product. Well worth the $15.

We purchased a Keurig Coffee Maker about a month ago. I knew that purchasing the k-cups would be expensive, but decided to purchase one anyway. A friend of ours had a Keurig Coffee Maker and told me about the k-cup reusable coffee filter. I purchased one and we love it! We have found that you can get 2 cups of coffee out of one filter! And its much less expensive than purchasing k-cups! We still purchase k-cups, but using the filter helps us to save money. This was a great investment!

If you fill the filter with medium ground coffee to the rim and then gently tap down against the counter, the coffee will pack nicely. Then, insert your finger in the middle of the coffee to create a small indentation in the middle so that when you put the lid on it,the coffee doesn't come out of the top of the lid. Make sure that you have a good seal by adjusting the rubber gasket around the top needle of the machine. this will ensure a nice strong cup of coffee with no grinds in it. It took me about 5 times of tinkering with it, but I finally figured that this is the best technique.

Not perfect but I would buy again, December 19, 2010
I have owned one for at least five years and use it whenever I'm home for the day which is weekends and holidays. It's been reliable, trouble free, and makes a good cup of coffee. It is amazingly simple compared to the other single cup brewers on the market.

The included mugs (mine came with two plastic ones, not one stainless) are so so. Pretty much what you would expect for a cheap "thermal" mug. I just use regular 12oz coffee mugs.

The permanent filter is useless. Use #2 paper filters instead, #1 filters are too small and probably why some people have spillage. Also less dripping after the brew cycle with a larger paper filter.

Make sure the basket is seated correctly in the maker. If not you will end up with coffee going in the wrong places and a lot of dripping after the brew cycle.

I would buy another one if mine breaks. I find myself looking for them in stores just in case I need one. All in all very good value for around $15.

i bought this coffee maker 2 months ago and i just love it. i'm happy i can get a good coffee maker at such a low price. it is designed for making one person's amount of coffee, not for families. from putting coffee and water in, to getting a whole cup of hot coffee, it takes no longer than 5 minutes. what i like it most is that it has a permanent filter so that i don't need to spend extra money to buy filters.

Don't like the mug. Water gets in between the rubber trim and the cup body when washing it and puddles in there. It then drips out when you tilt the cup. Other than that it does what it says ut does. Makes good coffee for one person.

I drink a number of cups of coffee throughout the day. I never liked brewing a pot in the morning and letting it sit there for hours until I finished it. When the single cup coffee makers came out, I read the reviews and listened to people's comments. It seemed the Keurig product was highly touted so I went out and got one. I was immediately disappointed because the strong coffee only brewed in 5.25 oz. sizes. Too small for a huge machine. The larger sizes were essentially watered down versions of the 5.25 oz coffee because the k-cups are all the same size regardless of the size of the serving you want to brew. So I went online and did more research and this time I looked for a decent sized serving per brew. I happened upon the Black & Decker Brew N Go and was even more pleased that it came with a travel mug. I ordered one and have had it now for 9 months and I'm very pleased with it. It's easy to use and clean and the travel cup is really handy. This coffee maker may not be expensive but it makes a great cup of coffee.

water quality is an issue where I live. The Marcellus Shale drilling has caused high TDS (total dissolved solids) and this summer the water smelled very musty. I am very pleased with this pitcher. I was worried that the top would be loose as I had heard and seen with my friend's model, but the top fits perfectly and snug. It also pours nicely. I bought one for my boyfriend because he complained that he didnt like drinking tap water. When he got it, he told me he loved it and i had to get one for myself to see what he was talking about.
So far im not having any trouble with my pitcher. Even when I soaked the filter in cold water for 15 minutes, there werent alot of carbon particles.
I was very surprised because i held the pitcher of filteredd water in the light and saw clean and clear water. I cant wait to use it some more.

I bought this thing because the tap water in my college smell bad, and when I boil it, it has the white sticky stuff in water. Thus, I bought this water pitcher because it was cheap. It turned out a very useful one. Water is now clearer than ever that I thought it was strange when there was no taste in the water. However, this is small water pitcher so it can't feed the family's members enough. But since I am with my roomate in college, This pitcher provides more than enough for me.

I also preferred the previous version of this filter. I'm sure P&G changed it to be cost-effective. I'm still ordering it but am on the lookout for a better system. The filter cartridge tab was the reason I'd switched from Brita.
If enough people complain, maybe they will bring the previous version back.

The filter that came with the original Pur container worked perfectly, but these always seemed to start clogging up halfway through the month! And I don't mean filtering slowly, since I'm expecting these through gravity based carbon filters, but I mean straight clogged up after filling the lower tank halfway! So since they half worked, they get a half good rating. I'm also giving the benefit of the doubt that they normally work, since my first filter did. Semi approve.

The filters are individually packaged, covered in a nice reflective chrome foil wrapping that when opened reveals the cobalt blue Pur water filter. You must remember to remove the old filter before installing the new filter. The old filter unscrews in counter-clockwise orientation and the new filter screws into the pitcher's orifice in a clockwise orientation, reminding me of the adage: lefty... loosey, righty...tighty. It is easier to do this procedure while the pitcher is void of water. Then fill the pitcher up with water, wait patiently for the water to drizzle through and enjoy the joys of filtered water.

This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It fits nicely in my refrigerator and my water tastes GREAT. My raw water has a strong chlorine smell, but not with the PUR. Prior to buying this I was buying water in 5 gallon jugs. No more of that crap! I believe this unit will pay for itself in no time, and I'm saving a ton of space, as well as not lugging those jugs. Obviously, Im very pleased with the quality, appearance and performance of this unit.

I purchased the filter pitcher as well as the faucet filter, and both work great. The double filtered water tastes much better than most bottled water. The pitcher is a little slow, but we filter the water, then pour it into a regular one gallon pitcher. This way, you will always have cold water.

I have seen alot of complaints about this pitcher. It costs $10 and it works. What more do you want?

Reviews complaining about the Culligan pitcher must be mistaken. We bought a Britta pitcher at a local store and were really disappointed. Black pieces kept coming out of the filter, even after over a dozen rinse-throughs, and the water tasted terrible. The lid barely stayed on even when we weren't pouring. We returned it hoping to exchange it for another brand. Every store in town carried only the Britta. Finally we searched online for a different brand and found the Culligan. Pours perfectly every time, lid stays on tight even when there's still water in the top, and the water tastes great. I would highly recommend it over the Britta and in general.

Takes over 7 minutes to filter 2/3 of pitcher, January 25, 2010

I'm not sure what's expected but I timed the filtering: To filter one full load took 7 and a half minutes. That fills aprox 2/3 of the pitcher which is plenty of water for the dinner table. But I wouldn't call this thing the speed deamon of pitchers.
Bottom Line: It's a good deal for the price, the plastic is somewhat cheap, the lid does have a poor design but totally a non-issue as it will never fall off. buy it.

Best water possible, June 21, 2010

This filter gets it all but leaves the minerals, which is exactly what you want. Our tap water is sucked out of the Neches River in Texas and I have been to the site where the pipes enter the water--unbelievably gross. Who knows what has been dumped into it upstream for hundreds of miles. This filter is so efficient that you cannot tell, in blind taste test, between it and Ozarka Spring Water. Easy to change, long lasting, superior technology.

It's also super easy to install. What's not to like? We've had our filter installed 7 months now (you have to replace the cartridge every 6 months or 500 gallons, so this was our first replacement) and we've been loving it. We used to buy 2.5 gallon bottles from Arrowhead, but even from Costco, that was costing us about a dollar a gallon, plus it had a slightly plastic taste, and we had to recycle all those bottles (which is still inefficient even though they're recycled.) Now, with the filter, the water tastes much better and it's only a 35 dollar filter every 500 gallons- that's less than a tenth of what we used to pay! It's also worth noting that the tap water in our apartment used to taste terrible (we live in Los Angeles), and we'd first tried a Brita pitcher, but that did nothing to fix the taste. With the Culligan, however, all foul taste is gone and the water is quite delicious. For anyone thinking of switching from bottled to home filtered water, I highly recommend you go for it with this filter! (Oh a quick note- this is just the replacement filter- make sure you first get the full install version that includes the sink mount if you don't have one yet)

I purchased the Brita pitcher approximately 3 years ago. Since then, I have purchased many refill cartridges. I drink about a gallon of water per day, so my refills usually last approximately 8 or 9 weeks. I suppose that for someone who does not drink as much as I do, it would last many more weeks. The water tastes great and I feel confident many pollutants have been cleared by going thru the Brita filter. I recommend this product highly. BTW, I suggest you purchase the larger pitcher (I believe it holds 1/2 gallon) because the lid of the smaller size pitcher sometimes does not fit tight enough and can cause water spillage. Overall, I love my Brita filtration system!

This is the best price that I have found. These filters are such a great deal on this site and the only complaint I have is not knowing when to change the filter. Didn't the Brita filters use to have a dial that points out when to change to a new filter? I love Brita filters (and the jugs) for the taste (or the lack of it) that it gives my tap water. I use it all the time and when I accidentally drank a glass of unfiltered tap water, I could taste the difference!

Have city water, my eyes would burn when I got water in them, when I got water in my mouth it tasted like crud, my skin was dry and itchy, and to top it off my sinuses were bothered after taking a shower. This shower head has taken care of ALL these issues and to top it off the shower head itself is great-the water pressure has improved.

Regards to a couple of the comments I've seen;

"Great quality, easy to install, poor angle of spray".
If you have two wrenches you can angle the spray where you want it. Takes some adjusting and a few extra minutes, but you can get the angle where you want it.

"This would be a great product if the part that connects to the shower pipe was made of metal instead of plastic, ..... cracked when tightening it."
If you have a rag of some sort you can place that over the plastic pieces and tighten with a wrench; just be sure not to over tighten-gently and smoothly tighten the pieces. Plus, so many other showerheads on the market have plastic pieces; it's really no big deal. The quality of the head itself is good.

I was excited to get this item,especially after hearing that it removes chlorine. The only thing that really irratates me about this item is that the most important part is made of plastic. the part that the handle hangs on needs to be attached to the half inch pipe coming out of the wall. the part is plastic to metal. it's also undersized,which makes it crack in half. especially after you apply the tape to the metal pipe from the wall. I couldn't use it and had to use the old one,which is plastic,chinese plastic,but a little thicker Culligan should get there s**t together and do some improvement. I'm sick of chinese products. all crap !
And I'm not goung to waste my time with amzon to try and order anther plastic piece of crap that's undersized. waste of time

I've only had this showerhead for about a month and out of that month I've been away for 2 weeks. The times I've used it I have not seen a really big difference. I bought it because I hate it when I get out of the shower and my skin feels so itchy from all the chemicals in the water. After I installed this showerhead I did notice a little less itchiness, maybe it was a placebo effect, who knows. The showerhead was very easy to install (less than 5 minutes) and the price at amazon was the best. The filters are also very inexpensive and are supposed to last for about 6 months depending on the usage. I don't know if there is an accurate way to test how good it filters the water but for now I think it's better than nothing.

Developed a crack
I've been a previous owner of a faucet mount PUR filter that lasted for over 4 years before it finally broke. I purchased this particular model thinking that it would also last, but I was disappointed. A couple of months later, it deveolped a hairline crack just below the filter indicator. I thought I just might have accidentally hit the housing, so I purchased the same model again. Well, this same crack appeared, and now I have contacted P&G. I am seriously thinking of purchasing a different brand.

Good at first but breaks after a year.
So this is my second PUR water filter mount. Both were this same model. Right out of the package they work great. It's not entirely necessary as our water is already clean out of the faucet, but it does remove any particulates that may reside in the distribution piping and home piping, as well as removing the chlorine residual that is in most tap water. After about a year, coincidentally just as the one year warranty expires, the valve that bridges between the faucet and the filter begins to degrade. Now even when the filter is turned off, water still flows through the valve and through the filter thereby dramatically decreasing the lifespan of the filter since water is always flowing through it. This is a POOR engineering design that should have been addressed by this company. This is the reason why I'm giving it one star. I figured my first filter was just a fluke, but this problem was confirmed yet again on my second filter.

My recommendation:
1) Go for a faucet mount that you don't have to physically turn to activate. I feel that the repetitive action of turning this up and down multiple times a day leads to premature fatigue of this product.
2) Don't worry so much about ancillary features like lights, etc. The filter is what you should be concerned about since this is what is polishing your water.
3) Look for NSF Certification. NSF 42 is for aesthetic effects. Even better is the NSF 53 is for removing health related contaminants. NSF 58 is for reverse osmosis filters which removes even more chemicals than the 53, however I feel this is a bit overkill for a home filter.
4) Go for a product that has at least a 3 year warranty. That way you don't have to keep spending $30+/- every year on the same darn product. I'm surprised that this product has a 5 year warranty when the same model in my local Home Depot only had a one year warranty.

After doing some more research, I've found this product here:

Price isn't too bad and it is certified for NSF 53. The KX Matrikx PB1 filter has an ABSOLUTE pore size of 1 micron, which removes giardia and cryptosporidium as these guys are larger in size than 1 micron. Be careful of filters that claim a NOMINAL pore size of 1 micron as these can let 20-30% of particles greater than 1 micron through.

Relatively inexpensive way to filter water
I was pleasantly surpised to see just how easily this filter installed on my kitchen faucet. Although I had great tasting water before its installation, I feel better now knowing that the water is "cleaner" than before. There are only two drawbacks that I see, namely, the filter often gets in the way when filling a pot for on the stove, and the replacement filters are not cheap---they each cost about as much as HALF the price of the original filter system. I have had my filter system for a bit more than three months, and the replacement indicator just became visible...time to spend money for a new filter cartridge!

Fast Water Flow; Great Taste
I've purchased the D40 filters in the past. They are good to reduce lead and other major contaminants in the water. However, the water flow is quite reduced due to the extra level of filtration. They only last for 4 months and the flow decreases as you use the D40.

In contrast, the D30 lasts 12 months, still has a great filtration profile, and the water flow is much faster and easier to cope with. In fact, I can hardly notice any difference between the hot water and the cold water now, compared with when I had the D40, and the cold water was annoyingly slow.

I recommend this filter over the more expensive D40 for everyday use, unless you have tested your water and found it to have lead. Then I'd use the D40 for health reasons, but not until then. There is no added benefit to the D40 in terms of water taste, or protection from microorganisms, compared with the D30.

cost effective filter
This product is the most cost effective among the Culligan home water filters. It last 1 year (or 1000 gallons) and performes well.

The D-30 cartridge severely restricts water flow and nowhere on the packaging does it indicate this. I had to return them to amazon for a refund. Am using the D-10's with no noticeable reduction in water flow/pressure. Suugest that Culligan come up with some indication of water flow for each of their water filters. If water flow is not an issue for you, then the D-30's are probably fine.

We use this filter for our well that has lots of sediment, It is hard to find in our area. Great price, we order 2 at a time since we have to change the filter every month.

Making private well water fit to drink
While it's unrealistic to think there's a single all-purpose filter that will do the perfect job on any particular well, this filter comes closer than any others I've tried. Its rather short effective life can be extended on some wells by putting a sediment-only filter upstream from it.

Culligan Replacement Filters
What is there to say? The filters work as they are supposed to work; we have a lot of iron and sediment in our well water, and the whole-house filter really makes a difference; the filter lasts about 4 months.

Good Water

Best water filter for the money !
It is true that you may have to toss 5-6 pitchers after installing a new filter, but the water is outstanding. Please check what the Brita removes as compared to the Culligan. The Brita is a "taste and odor" only filter whereas the Culligan actually removes chemicals as well. Using a Brita may make your water taste better but it is not helping your health.

Water taste is bad initially!
I got these despite everyones complain. But what others say is right. The water tastes terrible initially. I think one has to throw away 4-5 gallons of intial filtered water so the taste becomes normal. But after that it tastes good.

Don't buy
The company charges more for these Culligan D-250A filters
but ships the cheeper non Culligan brand filters.

well worth the $30, January 16, 2008
I was saving up to buy the Aquasana showerhead filter, trying to rationalize spending $80 on a product just because our water smells a little funky. I researched dillegently about all of my shower-filter options, read all the Amazon and other sites reviews I could find, and while there was a lot of hype about Aquasana, the real user reviews made me question it's durability, value, and also, it wasn't very pretty.

Then I discovered this Culligan shower filter. It's a little bigger than my regular showerhead, but that's more the massage settings than the filtration unit. It's shiny chrome and looks really nice in my shower. It installed in about 3 minutes and has worked beautifully for the last 2 months.

My main reason for buying this was bad smelling water. This filter got rid of all the odors in our tap water (the metallic tap water smell and the super nasty hydrogen sulfide/rotten egg smell that only got worse the hotter the water was). But it's also improved my skin and hair condition. All this time I had thought I had dry skin and damaged hair. But not anymore. I never would have thought to blame the water!

The 5 massage settings are nice, but I find I like the regular spray shower setting. I was worried that a filter may impact my water pressure, but it actually seems to have improved. The highest-pressure setting on this is almost too much pressure, but it might be good for a theraputic massage.

This was a fabulous find for only ~$30. The quality of the showerhead alone would be worth that, even without the added bonus of filtering out all the yucky stuff.

I have battled eczema and extremely dry skin for a lifetime with countless moisturizers, creams, special body washes, etc. Who know my biggest enemy was my shower?! Now, for the first time ever, I can use regular BAR soap--if you have eczema, you know that this is a major coup! I can see a real difference now when I showered elsewhere on a holiday visit--I'm back to feeling like my skin was a flaky mess. I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone with dry skin and/or eczema. BIG difference, January 6, 2008
This shower head filter has made an enormous difference on my skin and hair. I have terrible eczema and extreme dry skin in the winter--I can't tell you how much money I have spent in my life on body wash, moisturizers, etc. But I think all along my biggest problem was the quality of the water. Now I hardly use any moisturizer and can actually use BAR soap...if you have dry skin or eczema, you should know what a coup this is! I can also see a HUGE difference when I take a shower elsewhere, like visiting my mom's--it feels like I have an itchy sweater on when I don't use the filter!

This is a great filter, just make sure you buy the showerhead to go with it. It does a fantastic job of filtering out the chlorine, and it lasts for quite a long time. If it does begin to clog, you can simply reverse the filter to flush it out which makes it last even longer.

I love the culligan water systems. A Water Faucet Filter That Actually Works!
The Brita faucet filter does an excellent job of filtering out impurities from tap water -- that is, when it manages to stay attached to the faucet. However, in my experience with it (two years and two different models), a tremendous amount of my valuable time was wasted trying to reattach the filter after it would repeatedly fall off. Although I have no direct experience with the Pur faucet filter, my understanding (drawn from other reviews) is that it suffers from the same problem.

Happily, after purchasing the CULLIGAN Faucet Filter several months ago, I can now report with confidence that it is plagued by no such similar defect. In other words, once attached, it remains firmly in place, and works every bit as effectively as rival brands. So for anyone who has tried those other brands and encountered endless frustration in endeavoring to keep them attached to the faucet, my advice is: Don't give up just yet! Try the Culligan model. It's solidly built, competitively priced, and replacement cartridges are readily available from Amazon. For me, at least, the Culligan at last put an end to the gratuitous, time-wasting burden of having to continually reattach a recalcitrant water filter.

Okay, tried Brita. That fell apart. Tried PUR. Lasted longer but on wrong tap on it and its a fountain all over the place with leaks from the connection / unfixable. FINALLY...Culligan.

Very good filter
I got my first Culligan faucet filter (FM 15) about 2 years ago after doing quite a bit of research. I finally chose the Culligan over Britta and Pur after reading Consumer Reports regarding their testing of water filters. The Culligan filtered out more impurities and the filter lasted MUCH longer than the others. Best of all it was cheaper back then, I don't know if it still is.

I've been very pleased with the filter with one exception. At my old apartment I had great water pressure. I guess too great for the filter. After about 9 months of use the plastic casing started to leak. The good news is that Culligan warranties the filter so I just took it back to Sears (where I got that one) and they gave me a new one. Thus, I still give it a five even with the problem since they warranty it.
Simple & convenient but not the best taste
This is a tiny filter that's super-easy to install and use, and doesn't get in the way of using your faucet for washing dishes, etc. I like that its default mode is unfiltered - the filter toggle is held on by water pressure, so when you turn off the tap, the filter turns off too - this means you don't end up using filtered water when you don't need to. However, the taste of the water is really not as nice as the previous Pur filter I used.

good product
We have been using these filters for 5 years now with our whole house filter. Our well water has a lot of iron in it and these filters do a great job of keeping it out of our inside lines. We do have to change the filter about every 4-5 weeks, depending on how much it rains, but that is just because of the sediment and iron in our well.
Vastly improved water flow through my sediment filter
I was shocked at the improved water flow through my sediment filter (the old filter was approximately 6 months old). Great price, I will keep buying these forever.

Great tasting water and affordable
The Culligan 2650 was easy to install; I installed it within 20 minutes, provided the hole on my sink was already there for the faucet. The instructions walked me through everything, even have detailed instructions via pictures for the lazy reader. Comes with an ergonomic long reach faucet. The new design on the lead free faucet looks almost like the ones they have in Lowe's for $50. Filter unit warnes user with audible beeps and LED lights to indicate when filter needs changing (uses a 9V battery, included). So far, this is the only unit that I know that removes MTBE's, VOC's, and more at a low cost of $32 per filter cartridge replacement set (500 gallon filter life, Pentek brand name at filterpros.com). I avoided Lowe's and Home Depot water filters b/c they use proprietary filters, forcing consumer to buy expensive filter cartridges. All other pressure fed water filters I know use $40+ filter cartridges (i.e. Aquasana). I switched to the under sink filter b/c my Pur faucet head filter keeps leaking, and I got sick of replacing them after the third time. I get filtered water at less than $0.07/gal, and I get great tasting water in an instant; it fits my needs perfectly.
Excellent water and system, sub-par fixture
We bought this after wanting to get away from bottled water which is expensive and not environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, the local water is less than desirable (terrible taste). The reviews here tell the tale already - it's easy to install and it's also easy to change out filters (and you can choose the one you want as you see there are many levels of filters for the system). Again, the system was easy to install but the fixture is horrible. It's plastic so while trying to install on the sink area the base of the plastic broke from the fixture itself. Not cool. To improvise I put it back together with super glue but this is obviously not recommended - I did it because I didn't want to undo what I already started. I've already replaced it with a Watts fixture which is cheap but is all metal and it's working much better and I'm not worrying about someone with heavy hands breaking it off and having water going everywhere. The system now is working well and the water it's delivering is great. Looking forward to using this for a long while.
Flooded my kitchen
After 11 months of service the plastic stem of the faucet broke and flooded my kitchen cabinet and the basement wall. I have yet to see the warranty response, however I highly recommend a Watts Premier Chrome Non Air-Gap Faucet to install from the start. Otherwise, filters are cheap, the water quality is good. But Culligan going for a one or two dollar saving using plastic faucet part under strain vs. the liability of flooding a house demonstrates very bad judgment from Culligan.

Super convenient
I've previously owned the type of filter where you have to remove the casing, scrub it, leave bleech in it for what feels like forever, grease the "O" ring, etc. etc. What a hassle for some clean water. This product is sooooo much easier to use - you can change the filter in minutes. Highly recommended.
Awesome!
Love the product. I can definitely tell the different before and after install the product. The water taste much better. It's very easy to install, just a little pain on making the whole on the sink. Other than that it's very very awesome and very reasonable.
not enough water volume
I live in Shanghai and I needed better drinking water so I decided to try this product out. It works great, no more taste after I installed it, however, I agree with some of the other comments where it says that they had to replace it before the 500 gallon mark. I am also trying to look for a larger water volume product such as a 1000 gallon filtering capacity becuase throwing away the cartridges is such a drain on the environment (they are rather huge) so I am now looking at the preferred 250. Anyone used that before?
