My daughter has not yet retaken the ACT but feels that this system will have her more prepared than when she took the exam previously.
I feel that it contained very useful information and I feel that a flashcard style study style is best used for my daughter. She has not yet taken the exam so I can't comment on it's helpfulness in obtaining a specific score on the exam.
There is a lot of cards!!! All of them where useful!
seem very detailed and a lot of information. Paper is a little thin but useable. My daughter is super organized and will get great use out of them. Will be great to pick up for a quick study here and there

One of the finest prose stylists of the 20th century, in a delightful set of stories about eccentric englushmen.
Good book
I love P.G. Wodehouse. His detail, humour, so much fun! One of my favorite readers of books on tape is Nigel Lambert, he is a master voice actor. Although I am fond of Jonathan Cecil's readings of Jeeves and Wooster, Nigel Lambert manages to hold his own here. Lambert brings out the droll wit of Wodehouse, and makes me feel like I am right there with Lord Emsworth popping old Baxter with the air rifle. What a great romp!
A collection of stories by the inimitable PG Wodehouse. Especially hilarious is THE CRIME WAVE AT BLANDINGS.
If you've never read P.G. Wodehouse, this selection of stories is an excellent place to start. His use of language is superb. He proves that funny is funny, regardless of when it was written. You can't go wrong with any story or book featuring Lord Emsworth, Berties Wooster, or Uncle Fred. Buy this, then buy them all.
While the "Wooster and Jeeves" collections are perhaps best known, some of the most enjoyable and funny Wodehouse "tales of woe and mirth" are contained in this collection. Lord Emsworth of Blandings Castle will quickly become one of your favorite characters of Wodehousian humor. The poor soul is overwhelmed by most everything in life and yearns only to be left alone so he can garden and nurture his pride and joy; The Empress of Blandings, a quite large pig. Sadly, he is tormented by his sisters to behave in a manner befitting his title, a task of which he is incapable. You will find yourself empathizing and sympathizing with this poor soul as he is thrust into situations he simply has no ability to control or cope with. I have the hardback book of this collection and wish they would produce the editions of all the "Blandings Castle" stories so I have them readily available as I travel.
Here is a delectable series of stories for the Wodehouse fan. His humor and graceful, imaginative prose style bring me to ecstasy--on a quiet level. Occasionally a laugh will explode as it did recently during a cross-country flight, the only laugh to puncture our hours of endurance in a fully packed plane. Wodehouse is good for forgetting your surroundings.

This is not a great edition if you are not already familiar with Renaissance drama conventions or even this play in particular. I assigned it in a Renaissance drama seminar, and was disappointed by the cursory critical introduction and especially the lack of depth in the footnotes. Where the footnotes were useful was Shakespearean comparison, but my students struggled with a lot of the other references. For example, the significance of apricots as diuretics/labor inducing was never explained, and the pun in the original manuscript (where it is spelled as apricocks) is at best alluded to. Similarly, there is no explanation of madmen as entertainment - either as a literary trope or a reference to Bedlam Hospital. In short - the text itself is perfectly fine, but for newcomers, there will be some fairly inexplicable scenes and incidents.

A tragedy like Shakespeare's MACBETH or HAMLET. Dark, steady, and developed story and characters will keep you engaged.
Love it. This classic play is well presented and the extra material was very helpful in understanding the characters and plot.

I read this for the first time in my English Honors class in sophomore year in high school as homework and I was intrigued by the tragic tale of the Duchess and her beloved Antonio. Truly a romantic tragedy without overdoing the romance. Definitely a well recommended book!
Good travel edition of this work. Play is witty and saucy, with gore to satisfy the most bloodthirsty reader.
This Jacobean masterpiece really should first read in a annotated copy. This book does have a glossary of some terms, but it is difficult to navigate having to jump from the text to the final section. That said, if the plot of the play is too much for the modern reader to absorb or believe, which I doubt, the pure poetry and powerful imagery of the play makes it a worthwhile experience. It it should stimulate any aspiring play write. The cruel humor of some of the lines are certain to bring a grim smile. "Diamonds are of most value, They say, that have pass'd through many hands. Whores by that rule are precious."
"...One met the duke 'bout midnight in a lane
Behind Saint Mark's church, with the leg of a man
Upon his shoulder; and he howl'd fearfully;
Said he was a wolf, only the difference

The Duchess of Malfi is John Webster's masterpiece, and justly renowned as the Jacobean drama par excellence. A young widow, rich and beautiful, secretly marries her steward, against the wishes of her brothers, a cardinal and a judge, who have insinuated Bosola, a convicted murderer, into her household as "intelligencer." One brother, Ferdinand, is insanely jealous of his sister

Unlike the edition of The White Devil, this edition has some notes and glosses. Coming as they do at the end, they seem like crossword clues without a crossword

This book managed to cram alot of information into a small amount of space. It remained objective, which is a positive. It was very thorough yet specific. I enjoyed it. IT wasn't even THAT boring to read.
This book is easy to read and very topical - refreshing to have insights from professionals working in the trenches.
This is an excellent book for teachers in all areas of education. Since reading is the basis for all learning, this book is very useful for classroom teachers, parents, reading specialists, and other readers who would like to become more efficient at reading a variety of texts as well as developing independent skills within the process of reading, rather than after-the-fact. Specifically for teachers, this book outlines basic strategies that can easily be used in the classroom. For students with minimal reading ability, the strategies are explained with the use of academic language that many disabled middle school and young adult readers would appreciate as lifelong strategies to use in a variety of reading contexts. I appreciate the fact that while the authors gave credit to instruction of the past, they provided reasons for change in application as we move students toward a world of problem solving and decision making. In my opinion, I cannot think of any other way I would want to teach my students to read and develop a sense of purpose and love of learning. I'm sorry that my teachers did not approach reading instruction with such a worldly view. Not only am I a better teacher, I am also a better reader.

Working in competitive international business I've read tons of negotiation books, but the Master Negotiator deserves credit and I am happy to recommend this invaluable book. It obviously comes from a practitioner who knows what's happening out the in the world and is right to the point on what matters in negotiations. Most importantly, though, and in my opinion invaluable is the fact that the author views the process from a cross-cultural experience angle. The dominant Fisher-Ury approach might be sufficient for American purposes, but in my company we are working with Russian, South American, African, Arab and Asian counterparts and do have ongoing internal negotiations, not to talk about approaching customers and suppliers. Therefore, the Master Negotiator is a must-have book for any professional negotiator and we are planning to invite Dr. Talab for a key-note very soon.
i have purchased Dr. Talabs book 2 days ago and nearly read it. very practical and useful!!! easy to read and implement in every-day life practice!!! highly recommended!!!
