De Strawanza ist ein Gypsy-Jazz- und Weltmusik-Ensemble aus dem Bezirk Rohrbach im oberen Mühlviertel (Oberösterreich).

Gypsy Jazz trifft Weltmusik — kreativ, virtuos und voller Leidenschaft. De Strawanza entführt in das Paris der 1930er-Jahre und zu feurigen Rhythmen aus aller Welt!

Für den Überraschungsmoment sorgen außergewöhnliche Instrumente — das selbstgebaute Susiphon, ein Vintage-Mikrofon mit dem Schellack-Klang der 1920er-Jahre, und die Drehorgel. So entsteht ein Klangbild, das es so kein zweites Mal gibt.

Seit 2010 ziehen De Strawanza als musikalische Weltenbummler durch Europa — vom Pariser Gypsy-Swing der 1930er bis zu Rhythmen aus aller Welt.

Woher der Name kommt

Unser Name stammt vom Mühlviertler Dialektwort „strawanzen“ — umherziehen. Genau das tun wir – und zwar mit einem wichtigen Zusatz: wir „strawanzen“ mit Frohsinn! Ob man uns Strawanza, Strawanzer oder De Strawanza nennt — gemeint ist immer dieselbe Band.

Terence Hartnett is a comedian and cancer survivor fresh off of his third sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with “1 Ball Show.” A regular at Caroline’s on Broadway and a 2022 selection for NY Comedy Festival’s Comics to Watch, his mix of personal storytelling and tightly written material can be enjoyed by diehard comedy fans and sensitive story lovers alike. Comedy Clubhouse called his show “Insightful, emotional, and laugh-out-loud funny!”

In 2024, his latest Edinburgh Fringe show, “1 Lung Run” won the European Comedy Award for “Best Show”!

As a new Wiener, Terence has hilarious and outrageous opinions about European humor, trains, restaurant service, culture shocks, and sausages. His new hour depicts an outsider’s perspective on the food, culture, language, and a–holes of Austria from one of America’s (and now Europe’s) most talented up-and-coming comedians.
