For my daughters, Halle’s 8th birthday she told me she wanted her party to be Purple, Pink and Black and a fun theme for her friends. So we decided on doing a Rockstar party with that color scheme and then also added some teal. From there I designs her Rockstar Printables  and we used the guitars and lots of Stars through out all her party decorations. We picked bold colors to really stand out and pop against the black.

DIY Projects: we did lots of DIY projects for her party, always fun and normally saves some money making the items yourself. First I made the Name Blocks, bought a 2×4 and cut it into 5in and 3in blocks and then spray painted them all black. I then used my handy Cricut and cut our her name using Glitter cardstock.  Second we made the glitter Star Garland , using our cricut we also cut out some glitter stars in 2 different sizes and taped them to clear fishing line. This garland was used for our back drop.  We also created the center pieces using our guitar extra larger  printables, hot pink tulle, and blume boxes, perfect for your table center pieces. We also made the Tassel Garland for the backs of the chairs. I had some paper mache boxes so I painted them pink and teal and we wrapped ribbon around them for the dessert table, to give the cake plates some different heights.

Dessert Table: Now here’s the fun table filled with all the yummy desserts. To start with I contacted some of my favorite vendors and sent them some sample printables so we could keep the same theme and colors through out all our desserts. Roni from Roni’s Sugar Creations sent me the most delicious chocolate caramels apples ( you might remember her apples from my daughters cowgirl party!) with big purple and pink bows and them we added small glitter stars to the middle of the bows. We put them on really pretty black trays we got from Nikka of Triple M Good Parties she makes really pretty cake plates and stands . I also got some amazing cake pops from Cupcake Cuties Bakery , we sent her some of our striped straws and we cut them down do fit perfectly for our cake pops, she added glitter swirl’s to each cake pop so fun and cute. Ang from Icings by Ang sent me the most amazing decorated sugar cookies, her art work on the rockstar cookies is stunning. Next I ordered some Fondant Cupcake Toppers to match our Printables from Rachel Skvaril of Fondant Fingers,  and they matched perfect. I also ordered chocolate covered oreos from Maria of Love & Sugar Kisses she incorporated our chevron print which was amazing on the oreos along with other designs to match. I stayed up late as always and did my midnight baking the night before the party to make some yummy Chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting to go on each side of the dessert table. I also go some bonier bites from the store and added left over buttercream frosting in star shapes. We Also added some chocolate covered hershey’s candy bars using our Printable wrappers  on each end of the table along with some hershey’s kisses with our printable rockstar mini stickers.

I just love how this John Deere Inspired Birthday turned out from Traci Tudor, She had did her son’s birthday last year using our Sock Monkey Printables, so when she contacted me again about doing a John Deere Inspired package I was so happy because I had been wanting to design one but just never got around to it. This gave me the push I needed and with some of Traci’s Ideas and mine we created the cutest John Deere Inspired Package. Traci took our printables and crafted them into such an adorable birthday party for her son’s 2nd birthday. I love all the details and DIY projects she made for the party.

Here’s what Traci had to say about her Son’s Birthday Party:

Living in the lettuce capital of the world, there was no better way to celebrate our son’s 2^nd birthday than by throwing a John Deere Tractor celebration. My mom and I planned all year long and couldn’t have made it near the success it was without Cupcake Express’ Printable Party Package!

One of my favorite ways to create excitement before the big day arrives is through creative and unique invitations. We gathered denim pants from our local Goodwill’s on half price Saturdays and stored them in trash bags until we had collected enough to make these adorable denim pocket invitations. Inside each pocket was a Cupcake Express Printable 3×5 Invitation with all of the party details.

Once the invitations were mailed out, decoration planning was kicked in to high gear. We started with making the adorable Tractor Crossing Signs and ordered a grand total of 16 dozen yellow and green bandanas which we used on the back of chairs and tops of tables as runners. Along the way I found Elizabeth with Posh Paper Creations who created tractor crayons which we placed on the tables as well as baggies of sunflower seeds for snacking.

And what party isn’t complete without a fabulous desert table! Ours included cream sodas with Cupcake Express’ Custom Bottle Labels, dirt pudding with fresh gummy worms, and of course rice crispy treat hay bales and chocolate donut tractor tires. To tie it all together we had dozens of cupcakes and Ashley with Bubba Sweet’s made us the adorable tractor chocolates.

To top it off we had two adorable cakes from Jaime with Yuma Couture Cakes. The stunning three teired cake had butter cream layers with mixed fruit fillings. It was just as great to eat as it was to look at. For my son, she also created a tractor tire personal cake just for smashing. Sadly, my propperly manored two year old wouldn’t go near it. We also had a very large, almost life size, tractor pinata that was gifted to our son by his Nana Blanca (babysitter). As you can imagine, it was a huge hit with the kiddos.

As for favors, each child took home a planter pot with seeds, gardening gloves, and a shovel inside. We tied them together with Cupcake Express’ matching Thank You Tags. For the adults, I created a recipe card that we attached to tractor shaped cookie cutters. Each recipe said:

Recipe for birthday boys:

1 bucket of dirt

2 cups of worms

1 tsp. of sweat

A pinch of germs

Mix together with plenty of Mommy’s love,

add a dash of bumps and bruises and

garnish with Daddy’s pride and joy.

Heat with sunshine and spread over a

lifetime of Birthday memories.

Love this adorable Vintage Radiator Springs Cars Birthday submitted by Nikka of Triple M Good Parties .  Nikka always puts so many fun DIY projects into her parties, some of my favorites are the big “tow mater” sign she made for the backdrop.  Along with all the neat rustic cans, picture frames,  and trays.  Hope you love looking at all her fun ideas as I did.

Here’s what Nikka had to say:

“My son Max is absolutely all boy and with him being all boy, he is obsessed with cars. All cars, but he really has a soft spot for the Disney Cars and he loves “Radiator Springs”. After talking with Lindsey from The Blue Egg Events, we decided we needed to go all out vintage and just focus on the town itself and not the race.

I took Max’s Tow Mater car into Home Depot and bought some paint to match the colors of his truck. I then painted everything I could to match. I painted (and made) a cupcake stand, cake pop stands, picture frames for food labels and of course the letters to spell MAX. I also used a lot of burlap. I hand stitched burlap together with red thread for the dessert table. I wanted the red to pop on the table, like Lightning McQueen. I wrapped old jars with jute twine and filled them with bright yellow daffodils.

I wanted the cake to look simple with just some tinted frosting. No fancy piping. I just spread it on they way my mom used to. Perfect! The editable cookie and cake labels made by The Blue Egg Events were a huge hit. They tied the whole Radiator Springs into the party without looking so commercialized.

Evie and Mallow made the most adorable cake pops. I placed them in some old painted soup cans and some diamond plated boxes. I put some brown sugar down to represent the desert sand. Miss Sweet Sends made the fondant cupcake toppers. Again they were adorable and tied in perfectly with Radiator Springs.

For the party favors, I kept the packaging simple by just using a brown paper bag. In the bag was a handmade soap tire by Favor Boutique by Angelique. I also included a homemade cupcake stored in an upside down Mason jar (inspiration here). I closed the bag with a painted clothes pin and a Radiator Springs sign made by The Blue Egg Events.Besides the love of all the creative sweets and printables for this party, my two favorite things were the soup cans on the cake and then of course my big Tow Mater sign. Lucky for me I know a lot of guys who have power tools and old tires lying around! Cachow!”

I had six days to prepare for the Lil’ Miss PURRFECT Hello Kitty 5th Birthday. Once my client showed me the invite and matching plates which I was to coordinate everything around, it was crunch time. Hence, I came up with the streamers that I had seen on 100layercake.com. This was a design that I had wanted to recreate and seized the opportunity since it suited this theme well. My sister in law helped me in a pickle with the design of the wrappers on the Hershey Bars. We personalized them by adding the #5 on them. I had a couple hiccups which is to be expected within a limited time frame, but I think the end result was “purrfect!”
