Hey Cupcakes! I hope you’re all enjoying your Friday…I know I am. During spring and even throughout Summer I usually wear pretty bright and bold colors. It’s something about the warm weather that makes me want to “pretty up” around that time. For some odd reason though, I decided to wear something a little darker today. I’m usually not too much of a fan of the monochrome look…but it can work depending on the person. An outfit like this is usually reserved for grocery shopping or other errand runs, but if accessorized more it could work for a date or a night out with friends.

The black and white jersey skirt was purchased from Forever 21 and the halter top was brought from a store called “Q”. Yeah…that it, just Q. It’s a new store featured at the Fox Hills Mall in Culver City (If you’re familiar with it great!!! I need a new shopping buddy!) I saw a girl working at another part of the mall wearing an adorable peach colored halter top and had to stop and ask her where she purchased it from. She then directed me to this brand new store. Most of the stuff looked like stripper gear, but there were a few gems hidden. The shirt was only $8.00 while the skirt cost about $15.00.

On another note, I am in need of serious help with my picture taking skills! I’m sure some of you expert bloggers have friends or significant others that help you with taking pictures for your blog…but what about you forever alone ladies like myself? I think I got hit on by a car full of adolescent thugs, a bus full of elementary kids, a woman and an old guy. After a while I just said screw it and threw in the towel hence the small amount of pictures. I need to find a quiet place to take my photos so that I won’t be harassed!!

Please tell me I’m not the only one with this issue and feel free to share your freaky blog photo taking horror stories in the comment below!

Hello Cupcakes! Happy Monday to you all!

For this post, I will be showcasing this lovely little dress that was purchased specifically for my sisters Champagne party.

If you are unfamiliar with what a Champagne party is, let me break it down for ya:

A Champagne Party is a pre prom gathering usually at someone’s home. Family and friends gather to see the youngin’s (Damn I sound old) off to the prom. There is usually finger foods and good music.

I had a great time reconnecting with family and got to view my lovely little sister in her jaw dropping dress (more on her dress a little later)

This dress had a bit of sexiness to it without being overtly so. I usually don’t wear green, but I loved how the color and the print just popped! Since the dress had so much going on, there really wasn’t any need to over-accessorize. I was able to keep it uber simple by wearing my favorite gold watch from Nordstroms and a pair of dangling earrings purchased from Forever 21.

Now on to my ridiculous amount of pics...

Now...for the Prom Girl!!

I'm just saying...I might need to borrow this dress one day. Not sure where I'll wear it to, but I'll figure it out.

Hey cupcakes!!

Today is my moms birthday so I decided to actually put on clothes and makeup on this lazy and relaxing Sunday afternoon. Since my closet is full of dresses, I wanted to show out by wearing this lovely little number. Flowing maxi dresses are my usual statement but I could not resist showing a little leg for once.

So I enjoyed brunch today with a friend of mine, and of course I had to go all out in the makeup and outfit department. I really wanted to play up my lips and eyes and match those color with my nude dress and pumps.

Christmas time is here!!

One of my favorite holiday's just passed us by. I know this post is hella late, but I'm still trying to get my blogging groove back. It's always been a family tradition to meet up at my Aunt and Uncles place to celebrate our Mardi Gras themed Christmas party with the whole family and it was an absolute blast! Although this was the first time that I didn't purchase or receive any gifts for the holidays, I still enjoyed my day and family immensely. Here are some pics of my lovely family!!

This skirt was purchased from Target for about $20.00. Not only that, but I actually picked it up from the kids section. Don't even try to judge me either,lol. I made sure that I got a large so that it could fit. Even then, the elastic was struggling to stretch :/

I really had to showcase this shirt that I recently purchased from ASOS. I’ve been looking for a statement piece for a while now, and I’m so glad I’ve finally found it! It’s such a great quality tank and it’s totally comfortable too.

Sad thing is that I’ll probably have to retire the tank and shorts for a while since it’s cold as FRACK here in Los Angeles. (Warm weather please come back so that I can pull out my cute summery dresses!!)

Purple-licous lip color

Hey dolls!!I'm back...once again. I know, I know. I'll get it together eventually.

I'm usually boring when it comes to my lip color selections, but I've decided to go a little crazy all of a sudden.

Since purple is my all time favorite color, i've purchased these two lovely lipsticks from Mac - Up the Amp and Pervette. Now, the Pervette color is a bit sheer, so adding another color or gloss would work perfectly for this color.

Up the amp is a very powerful and stand alone lip color, as you can see here:

Hello my lovelies! I thought I'd switch it up and do a post about my never-ending mess of a closet. We'll not the full closet since its a work in progress...but you'll get the idea.

There's really not much room in my apartment but it's a little easier to deal with a smaller space when you have great storage.

These Bins are super afordable and easy to fit in small spaces. I used this particular one for my Makeup since I've run out of counter space in my bathroom. My bathroom is literally a hop skip away from this area, so it actually works for me.

I got this super long and whimsical dress from my go to place, Forever 21.

It's a Crepe Chiffon Floral Maxi Dress in Royal/Green with a smocked waist, short sleeves and mock button placket. The retail price is $24.80. It's a perfect Summer dress!

You may not see it due to my horrible picture taking...but the dress is about ankle length.

I love soft and neutral nude colors. The simplier the better. I'm more of a "dab a bit of eyeshadow on my lid with my finger" kind of girl, Especially if I'm doing something mundane like grocery shopping. Here's a look that's extremely easy to do and fabulous!

I used my Sephora "Hawaiin Beach" "Hawaiin Beach" all over my lid. It's highly pigmented and long lasting.

I also used the top 2 colors on this ELF palette.

1. For the inner part of my lid and brow bone

2. Very outer corner

I purchased this at Big Lot's for $4. Who would've thought a junky craptastic place like Big Lot's would have cool makeup?!?

I just purchased this cute little bugger from Bed, Bath and Beyond and I decided to test it out today. You all know that I'm obsessed with all things cupcakes so buying this was a no brainer for me.

It comes with 4 cute little frosting tips with a bag and instructions with all kinds of decorating tips too!

Of course I had to get it in pink, duh!

I brought this itty bitty cupcake liners from Target. All in all, it takes about 5-8 minutes for the Cupcakes to cook and this thing get REALLY hot fast.

I started off with a dollop of Milk Chocolate cake then I added a bit of Pink Vanilla frosting...

I just wanted to add a bit of "Ummph" to my cupcakes :) After the Pink Vanilla I add another layer of Milk Chocolate. That way, the Pink Vanilla is a nice little suprise inside the Cupcakes.

I made some delicious Cake Pop's today and decided to share it with you Cupcake's!

I started out with some regular ol' Chocolate cake and then destroyed it. I felt some kind of way about doing that :/

I then added Chocolate fudge frosting to the crumbled cake.

You then form your cake mix into cute little balls.

Dip your Pop Stick into melted chocolate before putting into the ball. This will keep the stick from coming out.

I put my cake pop's in the fridge for about an hour before dipping it in chocolate.

Use melted Chocolate to coat the Cake Pop's. I used not only the typical "Brown" chocolate color, but White and Pink as well.

♥Eyebrow Tutorial♥

Here's a really quick Eyebrow tutorial. I usually wear my brows ridiculously thick yet shapely, but I decided to shape them up a bit more then usual...

These are the tools that are used!

I know it seems like a lot, but it's worth it. Plus all of them are extremely affordable♥

You want to start off by brushing the hair in the shape that you want. I then start to tweeze...

Then use a razor to get the hair above the brow. I've heard over and over again that this shouldnt be done...but screw that. It gives me a clean look so I'll continue to do it :)

Use a brown or black eyebrow pencil to shade in any sparse area's. You can also use an angled brush with an eyeshadow color that matches the hair on your brow's.

I actually prefer using a black pencil. My natural hair color is a really light brown color, but my brows are super dark. Using black really makes them pop.

Next, I use an angled brush dipped in concealer (The concealer used in Boing from Benifit) Using the concealer, I draw a line above and below the brow...Like this:

After blending the concealer here is the final look...

♥ Spring Make~Up Look ♥

Spring is here so I decided to do a pretty and colorful makeup look ♥

I think really bright eye-popping colors are absolutely gorgeous so here's a taste of what I did:

The colors really work well together!

Here's exactly what I did to get this look:

I started off with my NYX in Milk.

Overall, it's a great product to use before you apply your eyeshadows to make the colors really stand out and pop. I usually apply this product with my finger then I blend, blend, blend!

As you can see, A little of that NYX (Milk) is near the brow bone. I love to use it as a highlighter for that area.

I used NYX in Hot Yellow. Extremely affordable and it's Highly pigmented to deliver intense color and long-lasting wear.

It's also formulated to be used both wet and dry...but I used it dry here. You may not see in the photo, but this eyeshadow has a lot of BLING in it. Glitter went everywhere on my face,lol!

-K, back to the tutorial. I just used the Yellow eyeshadow to color all over my eyelid.

Next, I used a pretty Orange color which covered most of the lid. As you can see, most of the Yellow still peeks out on the inner corner.

The orange eyeshadow used is from Ruby Kisses in Sugar Cookie. I got this from my local beauty supply for about a dollar. That should show you that you don't have to hurt your pockets to look fabulous.

...And finally, I used a bright almost sea green color to line the bottom lash line.

This color is Lagoon Sparkle also from NYX. I used my NYX Milk right under it as well to make the color more noticeable.

To complete my spring look I added this Peach...almost Pink-ish color to my lips.

The lipstick is Peachy Scene for Maybelline.

Here's a tip. I would use gloss after applying this lipstick. If you don't you'll be left with incredibly dry smackers.

So, Here's the final look!

Easy right!?! I'm pretty sure I spent like 5 bucks for all of the shadows used and about $8 for the lipstick.

Sooo...I just got my 1st and ONLY tattoo and I still don't know how to feel about it.

On one hand I completely love it. I think it's super adorable, but I also catch myself "side-eye'ing" it wondering why in the ever loving hell did I do this.

I mean...I'll be an old gray lady with this shit on my finger. I guess I'll just be a really hip granny then.

What's really funny is that I've never been in love. Yep, I said it. NEVER. I think something in me is broken,lol. I've never felt anything more then pure "like" for the opposite sex. Hopefully that'll change soon♥

Welp...there it is. In all it's large glory on my "screw you" finger.

♥Pink Cupcake Eyeshadow Tutorial♥

We'll you ladies probably know by now that I love Cupcakes and the color pink...so why not do a Pink Cupcake eyeshadow tutorial.

I'll just hush my font now and let you enjoy...J/K

I started off with NYX jumbo pencils in Milk and Pearl.

Here are the Pencils below. Yeah, the picture is sideways...Damn you Blogger!!!! As you can see, I'm too lazy to fix that too♥

This is just a picture to show the Jumbo pencil colors blended onto the eye.

I then added a pearly pink eyeshadow over the whole lid. It almost matches the color of the NYX pencil and really makes the color pop when used together. Here's the eyeshadow that I used below...

This product is Sephora's own brand. It also has a few gorgeous purple colors included!

I then added a Hot Pink color to the outer edge of the eye.

This is also from NYX. Extremely affordable and the colors are super pretty. As you can see I used that dark pink on the far left corner for the outer edge.

...And here's the final look with eyeliner, mascara and a few lashes!

Simple huh?

I used this Mac Longwear Lipcolor in Pink as well. It's a two step application. You apply the color, Let it dry a bit then apply the gloss. It stay's on FOREVER and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I tried to take it off after about 15 minutes and it took the longest to even get the color off of my lips. Even then, My lips were incredibly sticky and gummy afterward.

Pro's

Stay's on for a very long time

Mac has a collection of really gorgeous colors

Won't feather or smudge

Con's

Very drying product. Lips were peeling after use.

Hard to take off the lipgloss

The "Clear" side of the gloss is the only thing worth using.

I probably wont buy this product again. If I need to refresh my gloss I'll just go with another product♥

♥ Cupcake Couture & Forest Green Eyeshadow♥

I decided to try out this new pretty green eyeshadow that I got for about $2 bucks from a Beauty Supply store. I'm not usually a green fan, but I thought...Why not? The color worked out perfectly in my opinion!

The color is Lagoon Sparkle from NYX. I also used Milk from NYX for my browbone and the inner corner of my eyes. A dash of a glitter black eyeshadow on the outer corner finished off the look.

This is the lipcolor that was used. Just a basic glittery and clear gloss. It's a high shine lipgloss that is extremely moisterizing.

I usually layer it over other lip colors just to "Up" the shine factor, but I decided to use a basic color for this look. I didnt want to overpower the eyeshadow too much.

Although I really love this gloss, the scent has a type of chemical taste and smell to it.I can't really put my finger on it, but it wasn't very desirable.

Here's the final look♥ Check out the pearl earrings that match the pearls in the necklace!

Here's the Necklace that I have on in the picture. It's so girly and cute. The soft flowery fabric and pearls are very feminine. I love wearing it! It's from Forever 21 and extremely low in price.

So, I recently had a few first time experiences. My first time in Vegas and my first time on a plane.

I usually get dissed when people find out that I have never done any of those things:

"You live in LA and you've never been to Vegas?!?!

-or

"You're how old and you've never been on a plane?!?!"

I've always been terrified of the thought of having to sit in an enclosed place thousands of feet in the air, so the fact that I have never entertained the idea of taking a plane anywhere shouldn't suprise people that know me.

I will Greyhound and Carnival Cruise my ass to wherever I need to go.

I will never be one of those people that goes to Vegas, Get's drunk...then forgets what I did the next morning. I will be one of those girls that will stop in the middle of the crowded strip to take a picture of myself ♥
The Las Vegas thing is a toss up. I mean, I'm not much of a partier or gambler so why should I go? Boy was I wrong. Las Vegas is like Disneyland for Grown up's....I had an amazing time! I'm literally itching to go back even though I just came home. Here are some pictures of my fabulous 2 day trip in Sin City:

♥ Easter Dessert! ♥

I ran across this recipe and I'm planning on making these little cutie pie's for dessert on Easter ♥

I thought I would share these with you Cupcakes!

Choose any colors you like, but use food coloring sparingly. One drop at a time.

To make: 50 minutes

To bake: 30-35 minutes (+ 45 minutes cooling in oven)

You Will Need:

3 egg whites (medium)

3/4 cups superfine sugar

1/2 tsp cornstarch

1/2 tsp lemon juice

Food coloring -- red, green, yellow. Use a toothpick to add one drop at a time.

Makes 30 meringues. Bake at 250˚F

1) Separate the eggs. Crack the eggs over a large bowl and separate the whites from the yolks. You only need the whites.

2) Whisk the whites. Whisk the egg whites to stiff peaks. Be careful not to overbeat, since they will start to look lumpy -- a little like cotton balls.

3) Add the sugar. Add 1 tsp of sugar to the egg whites; whisk. Pour in a second and continue whisking. Add remaining sugar, while whisking to stiff peaks.

4) Add lemon juice. Whisk in the cornstarch and lemon juice until just combined. The meringue should look smooth and glossy.

5) Add a little color. Divide the meringue into 3 bowls and color each one with a couple of drops of food coloring. Fold the color in using a spatula.

6) Make meringue swirls. Spoon the meringue into a piping bag and squeeze to make swirls onto 2 cookie sheets lined with parchment. Make each one about 1 inch across. Now bake in the oven.

7) Bake the meringues for 30-35 minutes, until firm on the outside. Turn off the oven and leave them for a further 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool.

Serving suggestions: When the meringues are cool, sandwich them together with whipped cream or softened vanilla ice cream.

I just recently went to Sephora and brought a bunch of much needed items. Lot's of face and lip goodies!

First up is this cute little Brush set. The set comes in 5 brushes which includes the one in the picture, an eyebrow brush and 3 that are used for your eyes. I am utterly in love with the Pink color on the brushes and and the Golden handle ♥

The whole set cost $3.50 at Forever 21

One of my favorites is this face Illuminator from Nars in Orgasm.

This product gives off a strong pearly glow on your skin. I personally put Primer and Foundation on first...Then I put the Nars Illuminator all over. After that I "Dot" a second layer on my Cheekbones and Browbones.

This gorgeous lipstick is actually from Victoria Secrets. It's has a pretty nude color with a bit of pink in it.

Look at that lipstick tube! Isn't it to die for?♥

At last we have this Gloss from Buxom.

These are available in 5 shades and you can get them in these "Chubby" little pots. The lid can also be used as a Mirror! A fabulous way to check your make up :)

It's free of Parabens and contains Vitamin C and E...It also doesnt have any type of flavor to it.

I usually have to put a nice little helping of it on my lips to get this shockingly beautiful Purple color. When you first apply, it may look a little pink starting off...

I also think it's supposed to be a lip plumper as well. I didn't see much of that going on...but it may be because my lips are already pretty plump on their own,lol. Here are a few pics showing off the Buxom Gloss. I may do a tutorial of the Eye Makeup which includes a bit of Purple and Pink!
