No doubt cancer is an ever growing serious medical concern in the US and around the world. www.CureMyDiseases.com has decided to focus on the less chronic non life threatening diseases such as Allergies, Constipation, Fungus, and Gout. Undoubtedly, we will add more diseases and disease information. However, we have made a strategic decision not to mix life threatening diseases with those that are.

Having one of the diseases or ailments that we cover are no doubt serious, but when an illness becomes life threatening, it is clearly a whole different matter.

Where to find Cancer Information?

There are various online sources for information on all types of cancers. Likely, the largest and most resourceful is by the American Cancer Society. The site is huge and packed with information. It is very verbose and has somewhat of a sterile approach.

On the other extreme is SparrowHawkSeries.com. This site rarely pulls any punches and is graphically in your face. The pictures are either of real cancer cases or highly detailed illustrations. The articles are written for the lay person and should not be relied on beyond getting an overview of the particular cancer. The site also covers Diet and Hair loss in the same manner. Definitely worth checking out and being woke up to the realities of cancer – it may even save your life or the life of someone you care about…

Foot fungus comes in several forms, it can be found on athlete’s foot and fungal infections that invade the toenails. Home remedies can help you with your discomfort as it gives you easing results just like that of prescription medicines. Home remedies can treat mild to moderate cases of foot fungus while severe cases may need a doctor’s attention. Home remedies can be cheap and easy to use.

They are just found in homes as they are just basic human necessities bought, but are used for a very different reason. It is practical as you can save money in treating your foot fungus as these remedies are as effective as prescription medicines.

Foot Fungus

Foot fungus can be found on nail fungus or athlete’s foot. Foot fungus is a fungal infection that can affect one or more of your toenails. Foot fungus on nail fungus can start off as a white or yellow spot on the tip of your toenails or fingernails. Nail discoloration can happen when the fungus spread on your nails.

An athlete’s foot is a foot fungal infection that infects the skin. Athlete’s foot can happen to anyone as not what its name suggests. Symptoms of athlete’s foot include dry skin, itching, burning, and redness of the feet. The symptoms are often apparent in the skin between the toes, where the infection usually starts. Blistering, peeling, cracking of the skin, and bleeding may occur. Sometimes the infected skin can appear white and wet on the surface.

The fungus that causes athlete’s foot can be found on floors and clothing. The organisms require a warm, dark, and humid environment in order to grow. The infection spreads by direct contact with contaminated surfaces or objects.

Foot Fungus Home Remedies

Tea tree oil is an example of a foot fungus home remedy. Tea tree is one of home remedies for foot fungus as it has natural antiseptic properties that you can use to fight fungal infections. To apply tea tree oil, just put the oil directly onto the discolored spot of your nails several times a day. If it is a skin-based fungus, such as athlete’s foot, mix 3 parts of tea tree oil into 1 part aloe vera gel, and rub the mixture gently to the infected area of your skin. Do this at least twice a day. Tea tree oil as a fungus home remedy can take about six to eight weeks for it to get rid of the fungal infection.

Another in the list of home remedies for foot fungus is the use of baking soda. Baking soda neutralizes the stinging, burning and itching that is a signature symptom of most types of foot fungus. This allows the fungus to heal without being further irritated by you scratching the area. Dump 1 tbsp. of baking soda into a small dish, and then add enough water to make a thick paste. As the water and the baking soda thicken, apply it on your infected area. Let it dry for ten minutes then wash it off with cool water.

Dry your feet with clean towel and apply a light dusting of cornstarch to soak up sweat and other moisture that can irritate the fungus. Repeat the treatment two to three times daily until the fungus disappears.

Salt soak is also one of the home remedies for foot fungus. A salt soak can soothe and heal sores related to athlete’s foot. Dissolve 2 tsp. of salt in 1 quart of warm water and pour the mixture in a shallow basin. Soak your feet in the salt water for five to 10 minutes, repeating the treatment several times a day until your infection fades.

You may not know this, but yogurt is a foot fungus home remedy. Buy the plain, unsweetened yogurt that contains a live culture as it can be used as foot fungus home remedy. The acidophilus bacteria present in the yogurt stops the spread of fungus and terminate the existing fungus that causes the infection. Use cotton and apply the yogurt gently to the affected areas of your feet, then let the yogurt dry completely. Rinse the crusted yogurt patches from your feet with warm water. Repeat the treatment up to three times a day, if desired.

Home remedies for foot fungus includes the use of mustard powder. Mustard powder contains powerful acid that will kill fungus. Add mustard powder to warm water and soak your feet for 30 minutes. Do this at least twice every day until the foot fungus disappears completely.

The condition of having a fungal infection of the nail is termed Onychomycosis . It is the most common disease of the nails and constitutes about a half of all nail abnormalities. This condition may affect toenails or fingernails, but toenail infections are particularly common. Aging is the most common risk factor for onychomycosis due to diminished blood circulation, longer exposure to fungi, and nails which grow more slowly and thicken, increasing susceptibility to infection. Nail fungus tends to affect men more often than women, and is associated with a family history of this infection.

Fungal Nail Infection

This type of fungal infection develops on nails continually exposed to warm, moist environments, such as sweaty shoes or shower floors. Nail fungus isn’t the same as athlete’s foot, which primarily affects the skin of the feet, but at times the two may coexist and can be caused by the same type of fungus. As the finger nail fungus spreads deeper into your nail, it may cause your nail to discolor, thicken and develop crumbling edges which is an unsightly and potentially painful problem.

There are different classifications of nail fungus depending on type of fungus and manifestation which may have somewhat different signs and symptoms. In general, however, you may have a nail fungal infection if one or more of your nails are thickened, brittle, crumbly or ragged, distorted in shape, dull, with no luster or shine, and a dark color, caused by debris building up under your nail. Infected nails also may separate from the nail bed, a condition called onycholysis. You may feel pain in your toes or fingertips and detect a slightly foul odor. Once a nail fungal infection begins, it can persist indefinitely if not treated.

See your doctor at the first sign of nail fungus, which is often a tiny white or yellow spot under the tip of your nail. An infection with nail fungus may be difficult to treat, and it may recur but fingernail fungus treatment is now developed with the aid of specialized medications and home remedies for mild cases.

Treatments

Recurrent infections are common in nail fungus which makes it hard to find the effective fingernail fungus treatment sometimes. The treatment is classified accordingly depending on the health related factors possessed by the individual having this fungal problem. Over-the-counter antifungal nail creams and ointments are available, but they aren’t very effective. To treat nail fungus, your doctor may prescribe an oral antifungal medication.

Studies have shown the most effective treatments to be terbinafine (Lamisil) and itraconazole (Sporanox). Doctors recommend oral medication for those having diabetes, history of cellulitis, and those who are having pain or discomfort from the nail infection. These medications help a new nail grow free of infection, slowly replacing the infected portion of your nail. Recurrent infections are possible, especially if you continue to expose your nails to warm, moist conditions. Antifungal drugs may cause side effects ranging from skin rashes to liver damage. Doctors may not recommend them for people with liver disease or congestive heart failure or for those taking certain medications.

Other fingernail fungus treatment options include antifungal lacquer, topical medication, and surgery. If you have a mild to moderate infection of nail fungus, your doctor may prefer to prescribe an antifungal nail polish called ciclopirox (Penlac). You paint it on your infected nails and surrounding skin once a day. Your doctor may also opt for other topical antifungal medications. You may be advised to use these creams with an over-the-counter lotion containing urea to help speed up absorption. Topical medications usually don’t cure nail fungus, but they may be used with oral medications. If your nail infection is severe or extremely painful, your doctor may suggest removing your nail.

A new nail will usually grow in its place, though it will come in slowly and may take as long as a year to grow back completely. Sometimes surgery is used in combination with ciclopirox to treat the nail bed.

Home Remedies

Many alternatives can be done as a fingernail fungus treatment but this is only applicable for the mild stage of nail fungal infection. The severe stages are dealt by the doctors which require close monitoring and intensive treatments. The fastest way to get rid of toenail fungus or fingernail is the mixture of vinegar with three percent hydrogen peroxide. This is mixed together in equal parts. When the mixture is done, you can soak your feet or fingers with the infected nails until there is no fizzing and when there is minimum discoloration. Some people will feel as slight pinch after awhile.

This is then followed by getting your hands soaked in bleach. A strong concentration is one cap per half glass of water. Stir and soak and leave your finger with fungus for about thirty seconds. Rinse in water and dry it and follow this with a mixture of vaseline and tea tree oil combined in equal portions. Put in on the fingernail and put on band-aid and leave it on for a whole day and repeat the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide again, followed by the given mixture of vaseline and tea tree oil again. Do this procedure for at least three to four days and the result must take effect within the said period.

Band-Aid is not absolutely required depending on circumstances. It just helps you save time in preventing the reapplication throughout the whole day. You can reapply it for a whole week to keep that tea tree oil -vaseline throughout the day. In case of a toenail, especially if you use tennis shoes or shoes that prevent air circulation or no sunlight, then it Band-Aid and vaseline-tea tree application maybe necessary. For those who have fingernail fungus, avoid using any nail polish as most colored nail polish covers up the fingernail, causing or encouraging fungus growth.

Getting your hands expose of fungus and sunlight is helpful. In countries where weather is cold, people often use dark gloves; however they are often not laundered. Try to get gloves laundered once a day, if possible using bleach or other bleaches such as sodium percarbonate or the old standby of sodium perborate. If symptoms persist, there is still a need to consult your doctor.

The body normally hosts a variety of bacteria and fungi. Some of these are useful to the body. Others may multiply quickly and form infections. Fungi can live on the dead tissues of the hair, nails, and outer skin layers.Fungal nail infections are most often seen in adults. People who often go to public swimming pools, gyms, or shower rooms, and people who sweat a great deal, often have mold-like infections. Antifungal nail polish is often the next treatment choice for people who are suffering from this condition.

A fungal nail infection causes the nail to become thicker, deformed and discolored becoming yellowish or even black. People with nail fungus are embarrassed and even ashamed of how their fingernails and toenails appear to others. If the case of nail fungus has not progressed, then antifungal nail polish may do the trick. Antifungal nail polish is one of the nail fungus treatments that can be purchased over the counter without a prescription.

Prevention

There are a few things people can do to prevent nail fungus, especially on elderly or on those with diabetes. The first line of defense is to ensure both hands and feet clean and dry. Others thing you should do are make sure your nails are reasonably short, wear good socks, synthetic materials are preferable when you’re walking on wet areas, as it can keep feet dryer longer than socks made from wool or cotton, use foot powder or antifungal spray for feet, wear gloves when washing or using a lot of waters, don’t pick skin around the nails as it can expose tissues under the nail to fungi, don’t walk barefoot in wet and dirty places, make sure the manicure and pedicure procedures are performed properly with sterilized equipments, don’t use nail polish and artificial polish too often, as they can trap moisture, don’t touch infected nail too often with other fingers, as infection may spread and exercise regularly and eat healthy food to maintain a solid immune system.

When you take prescribed drugs, all advisories and precautions must be heeded, especially if side effects can potentially happen. Diabetics must maintain a more rigorous dietary control to encourage desired healing effects. Nail fungus can also spread to caregivers if precautions are not obeyed. People who care or bath an affected individual must wear gloves at all times.

Diagnosis

If a person is suspected to have nail fungus, the doctor or nurse will take a nail sample from the affected area for further examination. After the type of fungus has been identified, the doctor can prescribe the most effective treatment. Close and careful observation is necessary to a person who is suspected to have nail fungus. After a positive diagnosis, treatment should be performed as soon as possible to prevent permanent damages to nails or secondary infection on the skin around or tissue under the nail.

If nail fungus is untreated, infections may spread to other nails and if the person doesn’t follow a correct treatment procedure, infections may recur when the condition is favorable for fungus growth.

Antifungal Nail Polish

The doctor will prescribe an antifungal nail polish. It’s painted on the affected nail and the skin around the nail once a day. After seven days, the accumulated antifungal nail polish layers are removed with alcohol and new layers of polish are applied for the next one week. It is proven to be effective on 10 percent of the cases and may take one year for the affected nail to heal completely. Appropriate diagnosis and medication are necessary to successfully treat nail fungus, in the meantime precaution should be exercised to prevent the condition from spreading.

Overall, the outlook of healing nail fungus is good if patients agree to follow the doctor’s prescriptions, but often it can take months to achieve a complete recovery. Healed patients are risky individuals, as relapse is more likely to happen on them. However, with enough precautions, it can be prevented.

Gluten is the protein found in whole grains such as wheat, rye, barley and possibly oats. Gluten is a significant ingredient in breads, cereals, cookies, cakes and crackers, as well as many other packaged goods. If your child seems to have a rash that is recurring, it is important to seek out pediatric attention to determine what the underlying cause of that rash may be and what you can do to alleviate it.

For many children with allergic reactions, there is a risk for acquiring a rash in response to a food allergy. Because gluten allergies are more common than in decades past, more and more children are developing a gluten allergy rash in the hours after eating foods that are high in gluten. When seeking out pediatric attention for your child’s rash, it is important, therefore, to ask about the possible risk of a food allergy related to gluten and what you can do to alleviate the health complication.

Celiac Disease

Celiac disease is described as an inability of the intestinal track to absorb the nutrients that a child needs to thrive. When products containing gluten are ingested, an immune reaction occurs in which the intestinal lining is attacked, preventing proper digestion and absorption of food. Gluten allergies cannot be outgrown like other food allergies. When a child has been diagnosed with celiac disease, she must always remain on a gluten-free diet.

If children are suffering from the following physical symptoms relating to digestion, a gluten allergy rash may be present Consistent cramps, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, weight loss, delayed growth and development, foul-smelling stools, nausea and/or vomiting, constipation, iron deficiency, fatigue due to poor digestion and absorption of necessary minerals and vitamins, intestinal or other digestive ulcers, including those in the mouth, and Osteoporosis

Gluten can Affect Mental Capabilities

Many still believe that gluten sensitivity can cause autism. Although this has never been scientifically proven, there does seem to be a case for eliminating gluten from the diet of children with autism. Gluten-free diets have been shown to improve the symptoms of the disorder in many individual instances. Conversely, children who have gluten allergies can display autistic-like symptoms, as well as symptoms associated with many mental disorders. Here are a few psychological signs of gluten intolerance irritability, depression, attention deficit issues and forgetfulness.

What Parents can Do?

Parents who suspect their child of having a gluten allergy rash must have him tested by a pediatrician or allergy specialist to know for sure. Before making an appointment, parents may want to keep a meal diary, noting recently eaten foods and behaviors and/or physical symptoms that follow. If wheat or other gluten product intolerance is suspected, remove the food from the child’s diet and continue to monitor for symptoms.

If they disappear, try reintroducing the food after two weeks, and watch for symptoms to return. Armed with this useful information, parents of an affected child can be proactive in the discussion of food allergies with their family doctor. If a child is proven to have celiac disease, the next step will be to ensure that gluten products are eliminated from the youngster’s diet. This can be very difficult effort as most of today’s packaged foods contain gluten, but replacing these foods with rice products or other substitutes is worth it.

A marked improvement in the child’s physical and mental condition will be seen almost immediately. Making a timely diagnosis and enforcing a strictly gluten-free diet is the only method to limit the danger and damage caused by this condition. The number of children who are being diagnosed with gluten allergies is growing. However, doctors often do not suspect a gluten allergy in children, and therefore often miss this diagnosis.

When people say they are shellfish allergy iodine they may be saying so for a lot of reasons. One of the most common of these is that people are allergic to shellfish, which has been used synonymously to describe iodine allergy as well. There is a possibility that a shellfish and iodine allergy may occur in the same person, but the two are typically unrelated, with shellfish being a response to proteins in the fish. What this tends to mean is that unless a reaction has occurred specifically to iodine, most people can’t tell they’re allergic to selfish, by inferring a connection between iodine and shellfish.

What is Shellfish Allergy?

In the misconception and correlation of shellfish allergy iodine, let us differentiate what shellfish allergy really is. Shellfish allergy occurs more often in adults and older children. It can appear at any age and can be caused by foods that had been previously eaten without any problems. Most people who are allergic to one type of shellfish are often allergic to other types of shellfish. Many people with shellfish allergy will not lose the allergy.

The severity of symptoms can vary widely from one person to another. Mildly allergic persons may have itching and a few hives while severely allergic persons may experience severe, life-threatening symptoms such as breathing problems or swelling of the throat. Symptoms of shellfish allergy usually appear within minutes to two hours of eating shellfish.

Symptoms may include, skin reactions such as hives or eczema; allergic conjunctivitis or itchy, red, watery eyes; gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea; airways symptoms such as wheezing or coughing or runny nose; and, angioedema or swelling of lips, tongue, or face. Shellfish allergies may cause a severe reaction called anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a medical emergency that requires immediate medical care.

What is Iodine Allergy?

As we have defined shellfish allergy above, let us define iodine allergy to further distinguish shellfish allergy iodine. The term ‘iodine allergy’ is used frequently and usually refers to a history of an allergic reaction to iodinated radiological contrast media or possibly a contact allergy to povidone-iodine. A misconception has arisen that allergy to seafood is caused by the iodine content of fish and shellfish. An iodine allergy would be an immediate response to iodine on the skin or iodine injected in a contrast dye to take better X-rays. In general such exposure would cause immediate anaphylactic shock in those who are allergic.

A patient might show very labored breathing and the tongue or throat might swell. Treatment is an injection with epinephrine to stop the histamine reaction. An actual iodine allergy is extraordinarily rare. Some show signs of sensitivity to iodine with nausea, flushing, fever, or some labored breathing. It would be greatly useful if people who were about to undergo testing with radio contrast media could simply have a trial run or skin scratch test to determine if they were allergic to iodine.

Relation of Iodine and Shellfish

Why do we keep relating these two into a single condition of shellfish allergy iodine? Iodine is not an allergen. Atopy is the one in general cases that confers an increased risk of reaction to contrast administration, but the risk of contrast administration is low, even in patients with a history of iodine allergy, seafood allergy, or prior contrast reaction. Allergies to shellfish, in particular, do not increase the risk of reaction to intravenous contrast any more that of other allergies.

One of the reasons people feel they may have an iodine allergy is if they are allergic to shellfish or simply fish. Both shellfish and other fishes are a rich source of iodine, but often those allergic are not responding to the iodine in the fish but on its particular protein. However, if one has a shellfish allergy, there is a slightly increased risk of iodine allergy as compared to those who doesn’t.

Allergy is an abnormal reaction of a sensitive person to certain substances, like food or drugs, heat, or physical stimuli that by themselves are not harmful. It includes production of IgE antibodies and release of histamine what results in typical allergic symptoms. People with allergic rhinitis were determined to meet criteria for migraine headaches far more likely than people without allergic rhinitis. In fact, those with allergies were approximately 14 times more likely to report migraine headaches compared to those without allergies.

Types of Allergy Headache

There are three kinds of allergy headache. One is migraines, which can vary from mild to severe. They are usually accompanied with throbbing pain, pain on one side of your head, sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, vomiting. Sometimes migraine headaches are hereditary. There are two different types of migraine headaches: common and classic. A classic migraine is severe and the duration is long.

There are usually signs of a classic migraine coming on, such as an aura, which can be partial loss of vision, a funny odor or strange sound. Common migraines are usually not as severe as classic migraines. The duration of a common migraine is usually shorter than that of a classic migraine as well. However, it can be just as disabling as a classic migraine. There are also no auras that precede the common migraine.

Another is the cluster headaches which begins suddenly and are more common in men than in women. A cluster headache usually lasts about forty-five to ninety minutes, but can be a few minutes or even hours. They also usually happen at the same time every day for several weeks, which is known as a cluster period. The cluster period usually lasts about four to eight weeks and can take place every three or four months. Cluster headaches are accompanied by pain around one eye. The painful eye and that side of your nose can become red, runny and swollen.

The third is sinus headache, which is the commonly felt. This is because typical allergy causes the sinuses to get inflamed and swollen, thus obstructing connections among the sinuses and nasal cavity. Continuing mucus secretion increases pressure in the affected sinus, causing pain in cheeks, teeth, forehead, and top of the head or elsewhere in the head.

Headache Prevention

Allergy is an immune disorder and the only cure is prevention. And because you can’t eliminate allergy you have to know how to prevent its occurrence and the headache and other symptoms it may cause. One way to prevent allergy headache is to avoid things that cause allergies. For some people, this can be certain foods, while for others it is things in the environment, such as pollens, molds and dust mites.

No allergy no headache! In order to avoid allergens that cause allergy headaches, it is usually necessary to make some changes in your environment. Consider changing your diet as well. Find out what your headache triggers might be by eliminating possibly problematic foods from your diet. Most importantly, see your doctor before taking any medications for allergy headaches. Sometimes, allergy headaches can be so painful they are confused with migraines. Getting an accurate diagnosis and know what is really wrong is the secure move.

Treatment

The best treatment in allergic headache is treating the allergy. It has been suggested that the aggressive treatment of allergic rhinitis, which may include nasal sprays and allergy shots, may help treat and prevent headaches in those people who appear to have allergic triggers to their migraines. Alternatively you can choose to address the symptom of the headache itself rather than the cure.

That could mean simply taking a painkiller such as a paracetamol, or it could mean massaging your temples and forehead to relax the muscles in the area. Just closing your eyes in a darkened room can also often help.

We all love the summer sun. The tropical heat and the beautiful waves of the beach are the special things we want to live by every summer. But most of the time the sun ruins our skin, and sadly some SPF containing lotions causes us much more damage than the sun can bring. Good thing there is Piz Buin Allergy with SPF that could be of great help to people who seem to have allergic reactions to other sunscreen lotions.

About Piz Buin

Piz Buin Allergy is specially developed with dermatologists to protect sun sensitive skin. PIZ BUIN® Allergy combines advanced UVA/UVB sun filters and Calmanelle which is a unique shield complex, proven to help strengthen your skin’s resilience. Formulated with a powerful antioxidant, Calmanelle, it reinforces the cell defense against UV rays and helps to increase skin cell tolerance to the sun. It is available in a wide range of SPF’s and formats for various skin types and situations.

Calmanelle is a unique shield complex proven to reinforce skin cell defense against UV rays and increase tolerance to the sun. It incorporates two main ingredients which are a powerful anti-oxidant that helps to stimulate the repair capacity of skin cells and a gentle soothing agent specially developed to treat sensitive and itchy skin.

Piz Buin Products

Piz Buin Allergy could be in lotion, spray or face cream. All these are made to suit your sun protection needs and lets you enjoy the summer heat without the worries of skin damage. The lotion is especially developed for sun sensitive skin, it absorbs quickly and provides hours of moisturization. It soothes sun sensitive skin and helps prevent your skin from peeling. The best part these lotions are water resistant. It is recommended that you apply it before sun exposure. Fully body application requires about 3 tablespoons. When you reduce the amount applied it lowers the level of protection significantly.

Reapply as frequent as you can, especially after sweating, swimming or toweling. The spray is especially developed for sun sensitive skin providing hours of moisturization. It soothes sun sensitive skin and helps prevent your skin from peeling. The practical spray allows an easy and even application.

Application should be done as frequent as how the lotion is, but you have to shake it well before using. After the full body application, you face should be protected as well. Your face would be the first to be exposed to the sun but it requires a milder ingredient than that of your body. Especially sun sensitive skin needs special protection. The cream is especially developed for sun sensitive skin. It absorbs quickly and provides hours of moisturisation. It soothes the delicate skin of the face and keeps it silky soft.

And just like the lotion and spray, it is water resistant. Full face application requires about 1 teaspoon of the cream. Spray and lotion are available in SPF 15, 30 and 50, and face cream is available in SPF 30 and 50.

Piz Buin Allergy Reviews

Piz Buin allergy has a pleasant fragrance, not too overpowering or sickly sweet. It is easy to apply and absorbed quickly. It does sweat off and wash off quite easily but no different to any other medium SPF Sun Lotion we usually use. Some who claims to have photosensitivity claims that this is the only SPF lotion that could help them enjoy the sun without the skin damage after. It surely lives to its promise of protecting your skin throughout the time you spent under the sun.

Although some may claim that it is somehow expensive than the others, but it is built to protect your skin no matter how sensitive it may be to the UV rays of the sun.

Chlorine is one of the most abundant elements in nature. It is naturally occurring and present in large quantities in nature. In our daily life, chlorine is used as a disinfectant and bleach that can be used to clean substances in our homes. It is also used in measured quantities in water to prevent contamination and spread of water borne diseases. Hence, the term chlorinated water that is used to describe water that has been purified with addition of chlorine.

It is also used extensively in swimming pools to prevent the spread of infection among the users of the pool and to keep the water clean and pure. Some people are allergic to chlorine, but they may not know their allergy exists until they are exposed to the chemical. Allergic reaction to chlorine is a type four allergy, also known as a cell-mediated or delayed allergy. After being exposed to chlorine, one can tell he is allergic to it by watching for certain signs and symptoms. An example would be when you felt like you are having an asthma attack after a swim in the pool, the same shortness of breath, tightness in the chest? This could be an indication that you are allergic to chlorine. Although very rarely fatal, an allergic reaction to chlorine can cause moderate to severe discomfort in many people.

There are several different ways an individual can get exposed to chlorine such as direct contact with skin and eyes, inhaling or breathing in chlorine fumes, or ingestion. In order to successfully identify an allergic reaction, you must be aware of the symptoms. Chlorine allergy symptoms can be classified into different categories based on the various body parts or organs adversely affected by it.

How can Chlorine be Harmful to Our Skin?

Skin is living and breathing, and it absorbs everything it comes in contact with. Chemicals are directly absorbed into the bloodstream and while cosmetics and aging creams come under scrutiny for better regulations, cleaning products are not that fortunate. Most commercial cleaners contain harsh chemicals that strip away protective bacteria and alter the ph balance.

Chlorination kills bacteria, parasites and harmful organisms. Most people would never smell the chlorine in their water. However, small amounts over time could cause occurrence of chlorine allergy symptoms. Chlorine will bond to the skin and hair, destroying your body’s’ natural balance, which in turn can lead to immune disruption.

Chlorine Allergy Symptoms

Chlorine allergy symptoms are the following: Unusual dryness of the skin is perhaps the first exhibited symptom of chlorine allergy. the infected area feels tight, itchy and goes red, and in some cases may even begin to peel. Another is eye irritation, which occurs if one’s eyes consistently become itchy, red, dry or watery after coming in contact with chlorine, there is a possibility that person may have a chlorine allergy.

Exposure to chlorine affects the respiratory system of an individual. These people generally suffer from symptoms mimicking asthma, like wheezing, coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, a feeling of tightness in the chest, and in some extreme cases maybe get a feeling of suffocation. And in cases of ingestion can cause gastrointestinal complaints.

A direct, accidental ingestion of a chlorinated substance can cause nausea and vomiting. It is also a common symptom if chlorine fumes are inhaled in any way. This may also lead to dizziness or delusional feeling in some extreme cases. In inhalation of chlorine fumes person’s nose becomes itchy or stuffed up chlorine allergy could be a possible cause.

Prevent Chlorine Allergy

To cut the risk of any chlorine allergy symptoms, start avoiding harsh detergents and chemicals in commercial cleaning products by making your own cleanser or purchasing organic products. Switching to organic cotton towels, bedding and clothing will help to avoid exposure to any chlorine byproducts. And more importantly, use a filtering system to minimize the amount of chemicals in tap water.

Nail fungus is a fungal infection in one or more of your nails. An infection with nail fungus may begin as a white or yellow spot under the tip of your fingernail or toenail. As the nail fungus spreads deeper into your nail, it may cause your nail to discolor, thicken and develop crumbling edges. There are different classifications of nail fungus, which may have somewhat different signs and symptoms.

In general, however, you may have a nail fungal infection, also called onychomycosis, if your nails are thickened brittle, crumbly or ragged, distorted in shape, dull, with no luster or shine, and has a dark color, caused by debris building up under your nail. Infected nails also may separate from the nail bed, a condition called onycholysis. You may feel pain in your toes or fingertips and also detect a slightly foul odor.

Nail fungal infections are typically caused by a fungus that belongs to a group of fungi called dermatophytes. But yeasts and molds also can be responsible for nail fungal infections. Nail fungus occurs more in toenails than in fingernails, because your toenails are usually confined in a dark, warm, moist environment inside your shoes, and has lesser blood circulation that it makes it harder for your immune system to detect the problem.

This may cause permanent damage to your nails. It also may lead to other serious infections that can spread beyond your feet if you have a suppressed immune system due to medication, diabetes or other conditions. Fungal infections of the nail pose the most serious health risk for people with diabetes and for those with weakened immune systems. Nail fungus can be difficult to treat, and repeat infections are common. OTC antifungal nail creams and ointments are available, but they aren’t very effective and most cost much.

Sometimes, because current treatments can take a long time to work and aren’t always effective, people turn to home remedies. Lavender oil for nail fungus was said to be effective and some other home treatment like vinegar and vitamin E oil.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil for nail fungus. This oil kills nail fungus because it has anti-fungal properties that inhibits fungus from growing. Place a one drop on the nail that has Nail Fungus and rub it in. It is suggested that you should do it several times a day, especially if you have nail fungus on your fingernails, because you wash your hands throughout the day and will wash away the Lavender oil.

Vinegar

While there’s no direct evidence that a vinegar soak can cure unlike lavender oil for nail fungus, some studies have shown that it can inhibit the growth of certain bacteria. Soaking your feet for 15 to 20 minutes in a mixture of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts warm water is how it is suggested to be done. Be sure to rinse well and pat your feet dry when you’re done. You can soak your feet like this daily. But if your skin becomes irritated, try soaking only two to three times a week. It is important that your nails be dry and clean, because fungal infection develops more in a moist and warm environment.

Vitamin E

If lavender oil for nail fungus or vinegar kills the fungus, you will have to remedy the effect the fungus had brought to your skin and nails. Vitamin E will help you with this. Apply Vitamin E oil to affected nails once or twice daily. It may take awhile to show progress, but as your nail grows back it will be healthy and fungus free.

When you’ve been diagnosed with allergies, life won’t be the same anymore. We love to eat shrimps, lobsters, crabs, sea shells, and almost every sea food. There are enticing, flavorful, and a superb delicacy, but sadly you are diagnosed to be allergic to all kinds of seafood. One bite of that yummy goodness of steamed shrimp can cause anaphylaxis and in worse cases even death from anaphylactic shock. Allergic reactions are no joke, they are not just a bunch of red itchy stings on your skin, they can be fatal.

But if you have allergies to almost every good food serve on the table, would you just settle for a glass of water? Yes, allergies limit us to enjoy the flavors of life, but would you allow it? Definitely not. Life is too short to not try everything and anything. Cure for these allergic reactions have been made pharmaceutically. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride is the generic cure for all those allergies, and every Wal-Mart store has it in the form of Equate allergy relief.

This anti-histamine is your instant relief for that runny nose, watery eyes, and itchiness. This relief has its perks and drawbacks like any other anti-histamine drug in the market, and we have to be knowledgeable of such things for us to be both relief from the allergy and the risks.

Allergy Awareness

Be aware of your allergies. You may think that only one food or substance can cause your allergic reactions, but you’re definitely wrong. Allergy is caused by allergens, and allergens can be anything that your body’s immune system is hyperactive of. So if you have an allergy to peanuts, you might as well check if you’re allergic to other legumes.

Thus, it is a must to get tested for other substances. Upon having the test, keep the list with you all the time so that you would not be exposed to these allergens by accident. Awareness to your allergies is the first and basic precaution to prevent the occurrence of allergic attack.

Be Prepared

Having allergies means that anytime of the day you might have an attack, thus it is best to have with you an anti-histamine drug like Equate allergy. But sometimes we tend to be hard headed and think that being cautious of the allergens is enough to prevent dangers of an anaphylactic reaction. With that philosophy in mind, you’ll end up in a hospital bed probably intubated.

Allergy is a traitor disease, you might not have that allergic reaction to white meat on your skin test, but suddenly you develop such and have a dangerous allergic attack, and you were definitely caught by surprise. Having anti-histamines ready and on-hand keep you safe from this dangerous surprises.

Drug Cautious

Anti-histamine such as Equate allergy has side effects that we have to be aware of. The most common is marked drowsiness. Upon taking anti-histamines, you would feel light headed and sleepy, thus it is important that you are not engaged in any activity that can cause accidents such as driving. Because this drug can cause depression in your somatic system, substances such as alcohols, sedatives, tranquilizers and other depressants should gravely be avoided, for it may cause too much brain depression that could have danger in leading to coma or even death.

When used on children, excitability may occur. When pregnant or lactating, a physician should be consulted when taking this over-the-counter drug. If you are diagnosed to have glaucoma, enlarged prostate, emphysema, or bronchitis, you have to be cleared by the physician to take anti-histamines to relieve your allergies. It is important to be cautious with allergies both with the symptoms and their cure.

Wondering how you got that itch after eating that Asian noodle and why wheat-free bread suddenly causes you skin redness. The alternate substance that helps us avoid allergic reaction to rice and wheat may and possibly can cause us the same allergies. Buckwheat is used as a substitute for wheat, rice and rye. It is used in baked products such as bread, pancakes and biscuits. It is also used to make noodles and porridge. Buckwheat is even used in filling pillows.

This weed is grown almost worldwide, but is especially common in China and Iraq. Buckwheat is largely consumed in Asian countries, in particular in Japan. It causes allergies due to a glycoprotein that it contains that causes an adverse immune response known to us as Buckwheat allergy.

Symptoms of Buckwheat Allergy

Symptoms of buckwheat allergy are dependent on how buckwheat was used in a product. Ingested products with buckwheat produces food allergy symptom and buckwheat chaff used in pillows can cause nocturnal asthma. So what specific symptoms do we note in this type of allergy?

Skin rashes are a common symptom of an allergic reaction to buckwheat. A mild skin rash may be pink in color, hot to the touch and itch. A more severe reaction may include hives. Hives are raised, pale, red bumps that last for up to a day. They will go away on their own but can be extremely itching. Sometimes, they may burn or sting. Swelling and bloating can occur with a skin rash or by themselves.

If the swelling is in the face or throat, it can easily constrict the airways making it difficult to breathe which may cause an asthma attack as well. Another symptom is eye redness or better known as Allergic Rhinoconjunctivitis. It is the inflammation of the membrane covering the white part of the eye. Redness will appear on the white part of the eyes. The eyes will normally be itchy and causes tearing. And the worst symptom reaction to allergy is anaphylaxis that can lead to a fatal shock if left untreated.

Prevention

Avoiding allergens is the best prevention to any allergic reaction. So how do we avoid buckwheat allergy? Do we not eat every noodle, bread, pancake, and food containing buckwheat? Definitely!

When we are food shopping or dining outside we have to specifically ask if the food we buy or served to us has had ingredients that contain buckwheat. We have to be strict in checking the details of the food products we ingest, because a small amount of allergens may cause our lives.

Staying in other places like hotels should may us cautious of the type of pillow filling they use. We have to be sure that the pillow we use is not made of buckwheat chaff. Some beauty centers use flour or cereal containing products in there pampering and facial sessions we have to check if this products does not have that certain type of protein that is present in buckwheat and other wheat, rye and rice that we are allergic to.

Treatment

Know that you are allergic to buckwheat. Get a skin test for buckwheat allergy and all your allergies. If we are allergic to one substance it is a big possibility that we can have an unusual response to others as well, so it is better that we are knowledgeable of this.

Treating of allergic reaction is symptomatic. This entails that we have to consult medical attention as early as possible when we are experiencing any sign of allergic reaction.

The factor behind allergens to trigger an allergic attack to children is that some may have not been diagnosed properly and may be misconstrued as simply being loose stools or diarrhea as symptoms manifested.

The best way to remedy coffee allergy is to find means to prevent them altogether. It can be done by having a list handy for you to be made aware of the substance that may cause or trigger an allergic reaction. It is also strongly suggested that if an allergic reaction does occur, immediate intervention should be done to not further delay any needed intervention that may prevent anything to aggravate the said condition.

Medications as Allergy Cure

When an allergic reaction happens, usually the mucous membrane in your sinus cavities becomes inflamed, usually triggered by a substance that that particular person is allergic to. As a result of this inflammation, the air and mucus inside your sinus cavities blocks the exchange of the air and mucus membrane, creating a vacuum which leads to pain, discomfort, and a great deal of stress for you, usually manifested immediately after ingesting coffee.

It has been said that people with cell membranes that are weaker than others make them more vulnerable to allergic reactions because weak cell membranes can easily break causing the stored histamine inside it to break, thus causing the coffee allergy when in fact, it is your body that is making it susceptible to the many allergens out there.

The use of antihistamine medications does not necessarily mean they function to act directly upon the pollens that may cause the allergic reaction, thus, are not considered one of the best remedies and cure for coffee allergy to be used. Making it the last option with regards to curing allergies is what most experts and medical professionals suggest. Not only are these drugs considered harmful when taken in excess, it also is very pricey.

Remedies and Cure

Even though it may seem to be more accessible and more convenient to simply be just relying on medications to cure allergies, the use of antihistamine as a cure is not strongly suggested by many experts. One of the many reasons is the bothersome side effects it has which include: fatigue, dry mouth, drowsiness, dry eyes, and inattentiveness. Finding the best remedy for coffee allergy is essential to immediately relieve the symptoms manifested by bouts of allergic attacks that may be experienced.

Drinking basil tea or hot lemonade also works well as natural remedies for relief of your caffeine allergy. Natural remedies and allergy cure for caffeine allergy symptoms are not only safe and affordable but are also effective in its own turf. The best natural remedy by far, is to drink plenty of warm water with apple cider vinegar or Oregon oil added to it. If you want to mask the taste of such, you can add honey or milk, provided that you are not allergic to any of the said ingredients.

Changes in your lifestyle should first and foremost be observed such as avoiding coffee altogether if you are aware that drinking such can trigger an allergic reaction. Also, finding alternatives to coffee may also be. Honey and tea may be good choices instead of your daily dose of caffeine.

Coffee Allergy in Children

If the parents have had history of manifesting coffee allergy symptoms back in the days, expect that the child may have the same allergic reactions when time comes. Statistics have shown that parents with known allergies to some substances may automatically render their children allergic to the same substance as well.

It is important for parents to be made aware of ever having coffee allergy symptoms in the past as one precautionary measure as not to put their child’s health into compromise and to be assured that an allergic reaction is well avoided and prevented form turning into a full blown allergic reaction can not only help the child, but the parent as well to make him ease through his childhood years easier and effortlessly on both involved.
