It Shall Not Rain

Most of the remaining humans think it is the year 10,024 by the ancient Christian calendar, and there are many different opinions how long humans have lived on this planet.

Regardless, there is consensus that they cannot survive here much longer. About half of the rivers, lakes and oceans have evaporated and are now permanently trapped vapor in the atmosphere, never to reach the land as liquid again.

Estimates are in two or three thousand years no liquid surface water of any kind will exist on this planet, salt or fresh. It will not rain, and it is unlikely it will ever be cool enough for morning dew to form on anything

Plant foods and animals can only live around the beaches and banks of remaining fresh water lakes and rivers. Fish and sea birds a rarely seen near the very briny shores of salt water. In the deep water way offshore; fish, birds and sea mammals are said to exist. Few people say they have ever seen them.

Very little fresh water makes it to salt water seas. The shores are hundreds of miles from where they are shown on ancient maps from the 5,000's. In many places animals and humans could walk across salt flats to get to what was once called continents, if they can carry enough water and food, and survive the oppressive heat.

Some have tried, but none have ever been heard from again.

Every day is spent searching for food and fresh water. In some places people have dug deep tunnels into underground aquifers to the water level to collect and preserve it underground. A couple thousand years ago, in tunnels 50 feet underground, the year-around temperature was 65 degrees F. Today the air in our water tunnel is 76 degrees and so is the temperature of our stored water.

A small bowl with one inch deep of water sitting open outside in the shade where the temperature is usually in the mid 90's day or night, will evaporate entirely in less then 15 hours, faster if the wind blows, but it rarely does. Lakes and rivers are losing water to evaporation at about .6 of an inch per day.

Swamps, estuaries and ponds have nearly disappeared completely. We are told at the north and south poles surface ice is entirely gone, very little surface water remains, and there is only a few hundred square miles of permafrost existing in either place, and glaciers disappeared from high mountain north facing canyons a thousand years ago. Pipelines run for thousands of miles from remaining alpine lakes to underground storage reservoirs far from where glaciers once persisted.

It is not believed that any humans live near the equatorial belt, now about 5000 miles wide, surrounding the planet .

Very few animals or plants are believed alive in that zone.

Cities where millions of humans once lived have been wastelands of deserted salt flats for at least a millennium. No one lives at the new coastlines, few even risk a journey there.

Sea salt is plentiful, fresh water is scarce and very valuable. Many lives have been lost guarding supplies of fresh water.

This morning along our creek bank potato size yams were discovered because wild pigs had dug them there. While digging some for our feast tonight a wild pig returned. We captured and killed it, and its been cooking underground, and will be ready to eat in about 4 hours. All meat must be cooked and eaten the same day it is killed, or preserved in salt, or cured and sun dried, and packed in fat, and stored under ground.

We don't have cold storage, no electricity, no ice, or anyway to keep things cold or frozen.

Over many thousands of years serious attempts were made, some violently, to get governments, armies, societies, clubs, and gangs to stop fighting climate changes and prepare for an ever warming planet.

No amount of pleading worked to dissuade them from thinking humans could reverse the inevitable growing power of the sun or stop earth's molten core from erupting, or counteract the tidal forces of the moon.

I guess they thought just forcing human behavior changes, killing all the non-believers, or wasting huge sums of wealth, or praying to some Gods could change astrophysics, gravity, and atmospheric chemistry.

Some how humans had made these problems, and humans could stop them, or reverse them. Of course they all were and are dead wrong, and have been since the early 2,000's.

The demise of human-kind on this planet is inevitable!

Socialism, Which Rights You will Lose?

200+ years of gains and benefits; autonomous lifestyles and the freedoms and liberties that allow you to decide everything that matters to you and your life.

You won't like having the government dictate what, when, where and how you work, live and play; and what you are allowed to think, do, see or say; even, what you can eat and how much of it you can buy or have, and what clothes you can wear, what colors, and when.

Who you are seen with, where you can go and be; and what you can discuss; what you can buy, what you can own or use, and how long you can use it after you pay the special use taxes.

Voting rights are taken for granted by most of the modern world and held sacred. One person, one vote that counts for the candidate or issue you choose. In Democracies and many representative republics your choices are secret and fairly certain to be counted accurately. There are usually many candidates from various parties and philosophies and initiatives of many conflicting views.

In most Socialist countries, if you are fortunate enough to be among those allowed to vote, alternatives to the party in power and ideas different than the ruling party dogma are very infrequent. Often, the only possible vote is for or against the leader in power. Few voters survive long after voting No. Rarely is there a viable alternative candidate to vote for, and influential supporters of them often don't make it to a ballot box, or their ballot is disqualified because they are found mentally incompetent, or charged and convicted of serious crimes making them ineligible to vote from the asylum or prison.

In most Socialist countries, you can buy a TV, but you can't watch it without an annual permit. Then you can only watch government authorized programs.

In some countries you can buy music and a player, but you can't play it at a gathering of your friends in public or privately, without an entertainment permit and annual fee. You can't play or listen to restricted or censored music or performers.

In some Socialist and Communist countries you can get on the waiting list for a tightly controlled and monitored government cell phone, or a restricted and monitored computer or tablet with limited Internet access. If your not an active ruling party member, your wait might be painfully long, like decades.

In some socialist countries you can't buy or have anything not on the authorized list. And if you can get it, it's usually only available in the socialist party colors, often black and some unnameable color.

If you save up something useful, and the government stores run out, you can't sell yours to those that can't get any. If the government finds out you horded it, they will confiscate it for distribution to loyal party dignitaries, not your ailing parents or sick friends.

Get used to shortages, outages and ancient versions of consumer products and medications.

Ownership rights to anything you create, perpetual rights to anything you buy, ownership of any resources you discover are non-existent. If you concealed that you have them, they will be taken and you will be punished as a threat to your comrade's and the socialist party, and possibly mentally ill, or needing another indoctrination session or two.

Those who have gained special rights because of historical mistreatment, or deserving addition help overcoming defects and deficiencies; you will lose them. If you work tirelessly for the party in power you may get a few back. If you gained privileges because you are different, forget them.

Everything belongs to the party in charge, or will; if they discover you have it, it will be seized.

Think long and hard before trading freedom and opportunity for free stuff you could buy if you had your own stuff or your own money back.

Cut Spending, Freeze Hiring!

Freeze replacement hiring, freeze hiring to unfilled slots authorized in the previous two administrations.

Do it immediately, and keep doing it until the burn rate is less than incoming revenue!

Shrink the number of Civilian Employees, Executive Appointments, and contract employees by 5% per year until every Agency, Department, Bureau, Commission, Institute, and Office has cut at least 10% of the employees of record as of today. Eliminate all the vacant billets.

A few years ago I went through the annual budget and the actual expenditures two years after the end of the fiscal year (minus very secret projects, and some other well hidden stuff) and I easily found 1200 programs and organizations that were not required by legislation or regulation.

Some hadn't done anything useful since the late 1920's, and some sprouted recently from a feeling that "the Government" should do something about an actual or imagined vulgarity of real life that needed a just correction on behalf of the embarrassed parties, even though no known citizen had sought any such adjudication.

Some need to be collapsed back into their parent organization. BLM back into Dept. of Interior.

Some need permanent closure or just don't fund them. For instance; PBS, PBR, Institute for the Humanities,

Some need serious mission and staffing re-evaluation (i.e. Dept. of Energy, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Commerce, except; ICC moved to IRS, and Import/Export Bank to Federal Reserve System).

Some never should have been the "Governments" business. No insurances, not the un-Affordable Care Act, not Social Security, Disability, Medicare, Medicaid, Flood Insurance, crop insurance; any other insurance product that requires conservation of funds locked up where no idiots in Congress can take the reserve funds for any reason and obligate the general budget to cover the benefits plus lost interest on what was set-aside funds.

Some were made even less effective, slower and more expensive by "Government" meddling.

Basically; smaller, less expensive, less intrusive Federal Government.

Stop the idea that government needs to fix every consequence of poor choices made by individuals.

Important Infrastructure Projects

Here is my suggested list infrastructure projects that will prevent tens of thousands of needless deaths, and hundreds of billions in public and private property damages, and prepare for the impacts from non-human caused climate changes.

1. Replace all on-grade railroad crossings with over/under passes, so that no trains or vehicles ever have to stop for each other again.

2. Improve large scale fresh water collection, treatment and low evaporation long-term storage.

As the sun continues to grow hotter toward eventual super nova, the liquid surface water zone will move passed the Earth. All surface water will vaporize into the atmosphere leaving no lakes, rivers, or oceans anywhere, only deep under ground aquifers or huge carefully constructed structures preventing evaporation will contain any water, including salt or contaminated water.

3. Vastly increase electrical generation capacity and decentralization, especially increase non-hydrocarbon fuel generation, by nuclear and chemical fuel cells.

As Sun activity continues to increase, much more robust air conditioning and much larger and more robust super refrigeration for food storage and long-term preservation will be essential for any continued human habitation on Earth.

4. Actually put all electrical power generation, storage and distribution in underground conduits, tunnels and caverns.

5. Actually perform long overdue repair and replacement of roads, bridges, airports and harbors.

6. Actually provide high speed Internet access to all US citizens and legal aliens.

Fake Election Interference and Fake Hackings

Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) you can appear to be any persona you have created, or any actual person, located anyplace in the world with an Internet accessible device.

You can use any software functions that will work on the Internet, and make it look like a real person caused it to occur.

A moderately trained Network Specialist, or a novice Network Engineer can easily make a hacking or failed attempts look like they are being made from any place in the world, let's say Russia, even if initiated from within the same network from which it was sent (Virginia, New York, DC); or any device, anywhere, and remain virtually impossible to track beyond the VPN server chosen, like let's say Brazil, Czechia or Russia.

Let's imagine that a political party and a candidate's organization wanted, demonize their opponent.

If they had a couple competent non-citizen Information Technologists working for them that could escape the country with software files and data evidence to their former homeland without a likely deportation process back to the USA; in case something went terrible wrong. Send the evidence and a less visible participants home at the first sign of trouble. The IT guys would clean up servers, device, files and software not already safely in a third world homeland where they have other documents and contacts ready to hide them.

Leaving behind the fake trail of Russian looking attempts to interfere in a political campaign. Leaving fake stories of candidate misbehavior and fake correspondence suggesting collusion with Russians to interfere or attempt to hack files of their own party or campaign, or easily plant dis-information intended to disrupt voting on social media platforms barely disguising the fake origin appearing to be Russia

Then with all the easy evidence gone, you would need only remove and replace with clean drives and memories on the actual devices of origin; and destroy a couple old hard drive and memories.

With the people, and money safely hidden in let's say Pakistan, and all possible hardware and most software destroyed; there would no way to implicate the opposition campaign and candidate of anything but being victim's of a terrible conspiracy to collude with Russians to steal the election from a popular, but losing candidate.

It would be as easy to do, as it was to imagine.

Censorship, Why the Cries for it?

I hear, view, or read things everyday that offend, aggravate, or disgust me; but I will not ever call for censorship.

I would prefer no censorship for anything written, spoken, or created to be viewed by any individual citizen of the United States. No matter how vulgar, disgusting, hideous, violent, immoral or inciting of hatred it maybe, it's just images and words; however, not all of it should be easily available to young children.

It's not actions, it's just free speech.

The 1st Amendment, like each of the first ten Amendments is very important to me; and has been eroded dangerously close to destruction in the last 100 years.

Supreme Court Justice, Louis D. Brandeis once wrote; "The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding."

People who should know better are clamoring for censorship of people whose comments they don't like, not just the words and images, but with intent to silence them.

The government, the state, or legal agencies thereof, should not act to censor free speech in any form by any citizen with full rights intact.

Of course, all legal rights to recover restitution for damages from slander and liable should be actively pursued in the courts.

The facts are that people tell awful lies about people they don't agree with or like. I suspect more than 50% of those who testify in court under oath also lie, some for no good reason. It's called perjury.

All other organization (media, unions, businesses, NGO's, Foundations, etc.) and all other people within the jurisdiction of the USA; should not be allowed to act in any way to censor the truth of any free speech, no matter what is said or implied, except for conspiring to act to overthrow any of our freedoms.

Internet, social media, and emails are media publications and should not be allow to censor any truthful opinions or expressions of free speech, no matter what their silly personal opinions are.

Freedom of Expression for all citizens and legal residents under the jurisdiction of the USA!

It's our 1st Amendment Right!

More Socialism, Ignorant!

Our country has more social programs than it can afford now. We have more socialist tendencies than our culture should tolerate.

None are working well, most do have enough revenue to pay their benefits without general tax revenue transfers. Most will be in massive deficits in a few years, some have had 100's of billions of dollars of debt over several years.

We have granted tax exempt status to way too many organizations, Churches, Unions, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) and Foundations, many of whom do little or no social good, but for laundering the monies of the rich, to exempt themselves from income and profit taxes they should be paying. Not to mention phony expenses that do nothing to accomplish the avowed purposes of their charters.

IRS needs to have cracked down on them long ago.

Now the ignorant, but well-meaning are clamoring for more Social Programs that cannot possibly be afforded from any source, National, State or local.

Stop! look at the history of Socialist Countries and large scale socialist programs. They all eventually run out of other peoples money, benefit outlays always exceed projected revenues.

They are poorly managed, constantly allowing new benefits without new revenue. And ignoring the warnings from knowledgeable Actuary's about insufficient future revenue volumes and sources.

You want benefits?

Learn to do things people might need or want.
Get a job or two. Go to work.
Learn to manage your life and your money sensibly.
Spend less than you make.
Carefully invest most of what you save.
Save some for unpredictable expenses.
Save some for known future expenses.
Spend your whole life learning new things.

The 2nd Amendment

"shall not be infringed."

What follows is my plain English understanding informed by Federalists Papers, Supreme Court opinions for and against, and intellectual writings separate from court opinion, and my own opinion formed by the aforementioned and 7 decades of thoughtful deliberations.

My analysis is drawn from the understanding of the meaning of words, ideas and history, at the time Madison wrote it and events since.

First, let's examine the phrases set apart by commas, which I assume is what the framers intended.

"A well regulated militia," to me means a militia kept in check. I think the biggest concern at the time of the adoption of the Bill of Rights as Amendments was having armed citizens able to resist tyranny from any opposing force, even Local, State or National police and military organizations gone rouge attempting to violate the most basic human rights enumerated in the Constitution.

Secondly, "being necessary to the security of a free state," means regulated by an opposing force of citizens to secure the conditions that allow the existence of a free state. Without an armed force powerful conspirators could become tyrannical and run roughshod, violating every preciously secured right over isolated locales or the entire country.

Next, "the right of the people to keep and bear arms," is the right of a free people to secure, protect, and assure a free state by keeping and bearing arms as necessary; not a militia, but in opposition to unlawful gangs or lawful militia gone bad.

Finally, "shall not be infringed." means precisely what it says. Nothing is authorized that modifies this right of a citizen; not significantly, or not slightly, shall not at all be infringed upon.

A Supreme Court decision established that convicted felons and crazy people should not have this right that the 2nd Amendment plainly and definitively states, "shall not be infringed." I do not disagree that convicted violent felons might be stripped of this right, but crazy could easily be determined by the state to be anyone that opposes the party in power at the moment.

There are lots of mental and emotionally challenged persons that function without danger to the state or other citizens; to strip this right from them without empirical evidence of potential harm to themselves or others, would be infringement which "shall not" be allowed. Tyrants, bigots, zealots could easily select a chosen behavior or affiliation and demonize it often and loudly, saying the poor souls who have chosen badly are crazy and therefore should all be stripped of their 2nd Amendment Rights; imprison them and seize their lands, personal property (guns and ammunition), livestock, and accumulated wealth, without the due process rights assured in the Constitution.

A few examples of groups of affiliates that could easily be demonized are, National Rifle Association members, Meat-eaters, non-Christians, elected politicians, teachers, or American Socialists Party, Green Party, or Radial Extremists Democratic party members, or any identifiable group could be characterized and easily determined to be "Crazy".

Incidentally, I would submit there are several mentally ill persons in Congress in any year, House and Senate; and most assuredly many in the party that nominated them, by any reasonable definition of the term "crazy".

The millions of people who admit to owning guns, and the millions who do not, but use them for hunting, competitive sport shooting, home protection, collecting, or just because they have the right to; have about 400 million working and non-working personal property firearms that have never killed or injured anyone. This estimate does not include the military, National Agency Assault Teams (DOJ, TSA, IRS, NSA, etc.), or State police/militias.

In no case did a firearm load itself, aim itself, or fire itself. All events absolutely required deliberate human action prior to the resulting death. No unloaded weapon discharged a single solitary cartridge.

USA's Biggest Problem

Ignorance!

It's startling to see how ignorant our nation's people, old and young, have become in just 60 years.

History, culture, finance, economics, health, general knowledge, simple science, renewable v sustainable energy, climate change, common sense, forethought, politics, courtesy and human dignity, understanding, open-mindedness, wisdom, analytical evaluation, thoroughness, thoughtfulness, intellectual inquiry have all suffered badly or declined to the point of absurdity.

Here are a few summaries of many recent examples:

First, in the recent national mid-term elections, voters elected an alarming number of avowed socialists. Apparently, not realizing that their programs and policies will raise the prices of everything that touches their daily needs and wants, i.e. food, housing, transport, clothing, medicine and care, all services, entertainment, travel, and everything else. Plus, halt innovation, constrict supply and resupply, and curtail the variety and volume of goods and services available.

Increases of unnecessary national regulations, and repressive taxation made necessary by aggressive interference and massive over spending of a larger more dictatorial National Government should be permanently avoided.

Our Federal Government repeatedly spends way more than its likely revenue.

This must cease immediately, it's idiotic. Thousands, maybe tens of thousands of programs and policies, do not require any National Government involvement, nor have any of them been successful by any measure.

I challenge anyone to name one thing, not specifically enumerated in our Constitution, and produce evidence that it has been accomplished better, faster or cheaper by the US Government. None are efficient, most are not even effective, all are fiscally irresponsible, many are completely irrational.

Next, climate change. Its true Earth is a planet of dramatic climate changes. A few hundred million years ago, Earth was an ice ball. Since its inception our sun has grown hotter and hotter on its way to eventual super nova in a few billion years. In 10 to 12 million years Earth will pass out of the liquid water zone, no liquid water on the surface of the planet. Before that occurs, humans will have moved on in large numbers. Increasing volcanic activity will make it more and more inhospitable long before then. In a few million years solar and volcanic activity will demonstrate that humans are powerless to effect either in any noticeable way.

The senseless gnashing of teeth and the wasting of billions of dollars will yield no noticeable effects upon the rate of climate change. In the mean time we should focus on trying not to disrupt normal atmospheric physics and chemistry. Before you limit carbon by sequester, remember this planets life forms are nearly all carbon based, just saying.

Humans and all their activities just aren't that significant.

Next, Renewable and sustainable energy. I guess most people are confused, at least partially, by the time frame. Relative to astrophysical processes, human life span and written human history are infinitesimally small bits of time. Even data from a few scientifically discernible events and historical conditions are minimal and sketchy when older than a few million years.

My point is, over astronomical periods of time all energy ever used or currently known of by humans, is renewable. New natural gas, oil and coal are currently being recreated under swamps, in the tundra, under the the seas, in river deltas, and everywhere huge deposits of organic materials are decaying under pressure. Huge quantities of methane (natural gas) escape to our atmosphere day and night world wide from the land, seas, lakes, tundra, and volcanic eruptions without any human activity.

These familiar organic energy sources should be ready very soon, less than a couple hundred thousand years.

If capture and collection technologies continue improving at historical rates, abundant reasonably priced energies, including discoveries of new sources and types, will be readily available for tens of thousands of Earth years.

Incidentally, sustainability can also be assured by the chemical manufacture of any fuels we may need, and in vast quantities unimaginable by today's standards. Including chemical, radiation, and magnetic energies currently in use; known, but not in use; and not yet discovered. We can also make water, which will become more and more scarce, very expensive, and much sooner than energy.

Two hundred years ago we had not figured out how to use electricity.

One hundred years ago no one could imagine using radioactivity safely.

Fifty years ago no one had heard of black holes, neutrinos, or quasar waves.

A few years ago several new light and energy spectra were detected apparently being emitted by our sun. Today, we still know very little of their potential usefulness.

Next, protests, demonstrations and community activism. Some simple suggestions are in order:

Once you attract the attention of the appropriate media; have an articulate spokesperson ready to describe the problem you believe needs correction. And, make sure the terms you are using have definitions, if not, provide one. Social Justice, I still can't find a rational definition anywhere. There are lots of circular logic sociology babble, but none are intellectually usable.

Then, present a solution you're willing to discuss in public civilly with opponents, if any exist.

Then, be an active participant in bringing about useful changes.

State the problem, suggest a solution, work to make it happen.

I think the problem might be called Social Injustice, however that might be defined. The solution might be called Social Justice, carefully and logically defined. As long as the solution isn't kill police officers, or demonize them just because of their uniforms and jobs, or make them stop questioning and arresting suspected criminals; or take all the money from anyone who has saved some, and give it to anyone who says they don't have any.

Otherwise, all the work of attracting attention has been wasted; except for those who just wanted to be seen on TV and in Social Media acting like they want to help, just to get some shallow notoriety.

Finally, personal finances, home economics, common sense, and forethought. Incidentally, we used to teach these subjects in schools.

When did it become acceptable to spend money (cash) you don't have, or you're uncertain you ever will have by a specific future time (credit cards)? Apparently, there is misinformation widely believed that nothing will happen to you if you don't pay what you owe. Wrong, pain and misery will always accompany your poor choice to spend money you can't or won't pay back when due. The misery from a single episode can last a few decades up to a lifetime.

Budgeting, accounting, frugal/not wasteful spending are all essential and critical. Choose wisely, be conservative, spend less than you make. It's called savings. Why?, things happen, unexpected things go wrong. Work toward emergency savings equal to six months of living expenses, some of which can be used for the unexpected, like vehicle repairs, short term illness, lay-offs or lost jobs.

Save separately for predictable yearly expenses. Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries come every year, be ready for their costs. Vehicle licenses, insurance and maintenance; home and appliance maintenance, health care, pet care; and filters plug up and things wear out. Think ahead, many future expenses are certain, maybe not entirely predictable, but sure to occur. "Be prepared" incidentally, it's the Boy Scout motto.

Forethought, you don't have to think ahead trying to anticipate events good or bad, but you should. The difference between choosing poorly and choosing wisely, is a lot of pain and misery; maybe for the rest of your life.

My Life and Guns

I was born in 1946 in South Dakota, and spent my first few childhood years on a sheep farm.

Guns were an everyday necessary tool. Predators and vermin plagued our sheep; coyotes, foxes and weasels killed their share of our livelihood. Dad killed as many as possible with a trusty 22 semi-automatic, which I still have.

It's never shot or killed any man, woman or child; nor did my father, who safely discharged more than 16,000 rounds through it. He also hunted ducks, pheasants, geese, and deer that we ate providing much needed nutrition.

I received my first BB gun for Christmas at 6 years old, Dad taught me gun safety Christmas Day.

For my eighth birthday I received a 22 caliber pellet pistol. I wore it out after several repairs 5 years later.

At nine, Dad gave me Mom's over/under single shot 410/22 to use. It shot a lot of delicious quail and rabbits.

At ten, Dad said I could use his 300 Savage to hunt deer. I killed, gutted and skinned my first buck that season.

By eleven, my Grandfather had given me his old double barrel, side-by side, open hammer, 12 gauge shotgun. He almost never gave anything away.

On my 12th birthday, Mom and Dad gave me a 9 shot, 22 caliber, western style, revolver and custom holster. I slept with it near me and loaded for 10 years when I had worn its action out after about 12,000 rounds.

Since then I have rarely been without a loaded hand gun at my side.

Two years later, my father and I bought a Savage, model 99e, lever action, 243 caliber. Very fast, very accurate; a great deer rifle. I shot 37 Mule deer bucks and 2 does, which were donated to the needy and the Humane Society. A few years back I gave the rifle to my oldest son, he still has it.

I shot in Trap Shooting competition for fifteen years, running 100 straight, eleven times in 3 different State and Regional Championships, shooting about 55,000 rounds in practice and competition

Today I have and use several long guns and several hand guns. I have had for many years, and still have a Concealed Carry Permit. I test fire hand guns nearly every month, long guns a couple times per year.

I never had to shoot anyone; I've come close to it a few times.

My guns have never deliberately or accidentally shot, or shot toward, anyone. Never transported themselves or ammunition anywhere, never loaded themselves, never aimed themselves, never fired themselves.

In 66 years no one has ever been harmed by any of my numerous guns, and never will. They are inanimate tools.

In the same time; many evil, ignorant and careless people and governments have murdered, maimed and injured millions of innocent people, and some guilty ones, with a wide variety tools including guns.

For some reason, some very ignorant people think the problem is the guns.

People wake up!

Guns cannot kill anyone!

Preparing for Climate Change, not fighting it

In this Solar system, Earth is certainly a planet of Climate Change.
During its history our planet has undergone many rapid and robust
climate changes.

Historically, and currently our sun gets hotter and hotter on its way
to eventual Supernova. The sun is the primary source of energy
and heat on earth. Earth's orbit is in the zone where water can
normally be a liquid, not always vapor, not always solid ice.
The Liquid Water Zone is moving away from the sun as it grows
hotter. I’m told we are about 60% away from the very cold
always frozen boundary, and 40% from the too hot, no liquid
water on the surface boundary.

Physical proximity and solar chemistry realities mean; in a few
billion years no liquid water on this planet's surface, and not
much else anyone would recognize.

That means there is little if anything mankind can do about
persistent warming.

The next most important source of heat and energy on this
planet is it's molten core and tidal forces from our beautiful
singular moon.

Volcanic eruptions spew heat, various gases, pyroclastic
ash and debris, and molten lava heat blobs and ribbons
onto land, under seas and under ice fields in about 20
places, plus or minus a few, around the world day and night.
Thanks to our moon’s tidal forces on earth’s crust and core,
our molten core and its related products can always find
their way to the surface and into the atmosphere.

I can’t imagine anyway the inept, incompetent and
uncooperative creatures on this planet could do
anything to change planetary, solar, or cosmic physics.

What should humans be doing?

First, stop thinking we collectively or individually, can
do any perceptible thing about the powerful planetary
and solar forces of the cosmos.

Next, make plans and conserve resources needed to
avoid the effects of climate changes. Like; changes
in food growing regions, increased energy generation
for food distribution and long-term storage and much
greater habitation air conditioning; more energy for
making and moving clean water to widely dispersed
human populations.

Enormous infrastructure needs will increase
dramatically as people migrate toward polar regions
to avoid insect borne diseases and low nutrient foods
as the Tropic and Subtropic regions grow wider and
hotter. Waste handling and treatment, crowd control,
policing and punishment; medical treatment and its
training, facilities and equipment must expand
exponentially in new regions with many new demands.

Next, some new social systems; nothing like the weak
ineffectual national and world systems of today.
Reliable and sustainable for millennia; in some
incorruptible organizational way to assure that wealth
is conserved, set aside, safe guarded carefully,
and wisely disbursed to accomplish the gigantic
projects and programs needed to sustains human
population in the late stages of mankind on this planet.

This planet will get hotter each millennium, regardless
of what human populations do or do not do in their
imaginary fight with the global climate.

The only logical effort is preparation for cataclysmic
impacts; opposing cosmic forces by tinkering with
climate manifestations is wasteful, ignorant and futile.

Save for, and be prepared to, make massive
adjustment as changing climates and their
advantages and penalties will certainly impact the
unprepared and immobile very harshly.

Be prepared to move toward polar regions and
away from sea level coastal regions.

Humans vs Solar Physics; who are the easy winners?
Solar Radiation and Gravitational Forces.

Humans are not powerful or knowledgeable enough to manipulate the sun, the moon, our molten core or the chemistry of our atmosphere.

Don't pick fights with cosmic forces we barely understand and can't effect!

It's not Gun Control

The issue is not gun control. The issue is people control.

I’ve been to many schools in the past 60 years. Very few had even the simplest effective security measures. Many had silly signs telling visitors to check in at the office. Some had bored teachers reluctantly hanging around gates not verbally challenging anyone’s reasons for being there trying to gain access.

Only one new school in Las Vegas, NV had single point access, enforced by fencing and barricades, into an Administration building with architectural features that prohibited further access without interaction with assigned staff.

Single Point Access being the first point.

This same facility and grounds were completely surrounded by an 8 foot chain link fence topped with three strands of barbed wire. The vehicle gate and people gate were adjacent each other and attended by a uniformed guard with what looked like a Taser and a spray repellent. The grounds were supervised by two assigned staff when children were present. They were attentive, vigilant, and physically and verbally active. Either of them may have had concealed lethal weapons as well.

The second point being; active, assigned, visible Security Staffing.

Cameras were visible inside and out. I assume they were monitored and recorded. If not, it was a tragic waste of money. At least six cameras covered the entry point, playground, playing field, and outdoor common areas. All hallways, walkways and classrooms had visible cameras.

The third point being; complete visual surveillance of all facilities inside and out.

It did remind me of some minimum security detention facilities I’ve seen. But most security devices and structures that could be reasonably incorporated into architectural features had been.

The point being security features and human behavior were considered and planned for in advance of construction, not an afterthought.

The presence of a patrol vehicle and uniformed visibly armed guards patrolling the perimeter would have been an additional measure I would strongly suggest anywhere; inner-city, suburb or rural setting.

Visibly Armed is the point.

These features and staffing taken together should change the mind of any amateur with evil intent. It might not discourage a hardened criminal or experienced terrorist. Not many of those have attacked schools, so far.

These features need to be present always, not 20 minutes after a mass shooting when millions of dollars of police, sheriff, FBI, emergency response equipment and personnel are all over the place accomplishing little, if any, preventive security.

Maligning People with Phobia Names

I’m not afraid of much; but in recent months I’ve been labeled by politicians, celebrities, media commentators, and supposed journalists with every popular, politically correct, phobia I had ever heard of, and some I had not.

Let’s get some easy one’s dispelled first:

Homophobic; I’m not now, nor ever since early post adolescence, had any fear of homosexuals of any definition. Genetic abnormalities have always fascinated me. I took, like many undergraduate students, Human Genetics and Abnormal Psychology with enthusiastic interest in the huge numbers of human behavior and physiognomy variations.

Xenophobic; I had to look it up. No one in my rather large family, and no one in my work or social circles had used the word in my 65 years of paying attention. It is defined as fear of foreigners or the unfamiliar. I grew up in the tourists industry and worked there a third of my life. I have travelled to, worked and studied in 34 foreign countries. I have always sought the unfamiliar with curiosity, and for comparative analysis of things I felt, witnessed, or believed. Never once was I afraid to learn something contrary to what I had thought, or to consider thoughtfully someone else’s values or views.

Bigotry; as a student of life-long learning obsessively since childhood, it is very doubtful to me that I have not considered carefully every thought, belief or value I have encountered differing from and often modifying my own beliefs. A fear of learning something new or contrary to held beliefs is something I can’t imagine.

Misogynist; had to look it up too. My fascination with and consideration of women’s values, behaviors, feelings and beliefs is boundless and still intrigues me after 65 years of observations and 52 years of marriage to the same woman. I have always enjoyed working with and being with the women in my life, and I have always tried to be thoughtful and considerate of their amazing skills, talents and intellect. I’ve always encouraged female contributions, achievements and confident independence. Hatred, envy, control of women, not in my list of behaviors.

Now on to a harder one and excessively used one in recent years:

Islamophobic; as a student at a famous Christian University I was required to take a class in World Religions. It was the most interesting “required class” I’ve ever taken. I read all the major religious writings in English, studied their leaders, prophets, deities and histories. I chose as my term project to read the Koran, accounts of Muhammad's life, and his attributed writings, and report what I learned. It was an A+ paper.

What I learned did not instill one moment of fear of Islam or Islamists. I have no irrational fear of any terrorists regardless where they come from, or why.

Those who have attempted to malign me and others by insinuating subhuman behavior or motives by name calling me are way off base.

Implying mental deficiencies because I and many others that voted for President Donald Trump are uneducated is ludicrous. In my case, with 4 college degrees, 2 science and 2 business 1 an MBA; and many other “deplorables” I know, voted for President Trump having multiple graduate and postgraduate degrees. It is utterly ridiculous to assert that only the non-college educated voted for Trump.

Another elitist miss-perception of those they disagree with politically.

It seems like an attempt to ease their own anxious misunderstandings, by ascribing motives to others that they don’t have using neuro-linguistic programming language to demonize and disparage those they think they disagree with, rather than earnestly considering why they themselves may have chosen poorly.

They may be the ones with an irrational fear of knowledge, not one of the listed phobias here, but one I think creates many social and class bigots.

Here might be my only phobias, in order of the scariest first:

Elected politicians, deadly poisonous snakes; but I repeat myself, and poor vehicle drivers, and very large unruly crowds. I know why I fear elected politicians, poisonous snakes and poor drivers, so I guess those don’t count as irrational fears.

So, fear of large crowds (Agoraphobia) may be my only inexplicable fear, in that I have never been hurt or seen anyone harmed by a large crowd. It has always occurred to me when in crowds, that crowd behavior could easily result in unintended injuries or deaths, sort of like poorly written and unnecessary enacted regulations and laws by a crowd of elected and un-elected government officials.

I think the evidence of history shows that “Unintended Consequences” have often harmed the innocent and unaware.

I guess, I have no irrational fears!

Abundant Health Care is Cheaper

The current Government Health Care program (Insurance, taxes and regulations) and its planned amendments do nothing to reduce the cost of Health Care. The current efforts, when fully executed, may lower the cost of Health Insurance slightly.

The focus of all this thrashing about concerning the costs of Health Insurance are badly misguided.

Health Care costs are what matters. Nothing is being done about Care costs and nothing is planned to be done.

Millions of people must travel hundreds of miles to get to very limited modern Health Care in the rural parts of many states, in the inland west and central states.

Health Care costs, once you account for taxes, regulations, restrictions, administration, patents on medicine and equipment, corruption and cronyism, are about Supply and Demand.

Good old supply and Demand market forces.

The past 7+ years much has been done to increase Demand. (ObamaCare) And if it can be believed, millions of more people have easier access to insurance coverage, and therefore millions more demanding much more care. (scarcity)

Scarcity of supply + (plus) rapidly increasing demand = (equals) unnecessarily high prices + (plus) ignorant subsidies and arcane unnecessary government regulations = (equals) the foolish mess we have now!

Little, if anything, has been done to increase supply:

No additional funding to educate more doctors per thousand people.

No increase in the rate of nurses trained per year, say an additional 10,000.

No increase in the number of Physicians Assistants, say 10,000 more annually.

No rapid increase of new Hospitals, expansions, (5,000) or branch clinics (10,000). In fact many have been restricted, closed or withdrawn from rural locations; or stripped of diagnostic capability.

If lower Health Care costs are desired, lower Health Insurance won’t do it. It just increases Demand.

What’s needed is increased Health care supply.

More facilities, many more doctors, more PA’s, more nurses, much more widespread modern diagnostic equipment, and modern communication for remote analysis. More widespread medical transportation and many more emergency medical response personnel.

With an overabundance of actual Medical Care, you will see dramatic declines in care costs.

And simple easy access to good modern Health Care for all our citizens, for less Federal tax money which is currently being wasted on subsidizing ridiculously over priced Health Insurance.

And maybe a lot less fraud and a lot fewer extremely wealthy doctors, hospitals, medical associations, and insurance companies.

If you must subsidize something, make it abundant Health Care.

More Health Care, not more insurance

Affordability or accessibility to Health Care is what's needed, and little has been done to improve either.

Not more access to Health Insurance that fewer people that actually have to pay can afford now.

It's simple supply and demand.

For many decades little has been done to train and educate extra Physicians, Nurses, and more recently Physician's Assistants. It's consistently been made harder and more expensive to become any of these.

Less supply

Much was done the past eight years to close hospitals and clinics restricting access in much of the less populated parts of the country, making Health Care both less available or affordable for many.

Much has been done to increase demand for Health Care.

Advertising new medicines, new ailments and diseases, new treatment, new research; along with an aging population, and constant government advertising for Health Insurance, and a constant political and media campaign insisting that Health Insurance is a constitutional/human right for those who can't afford it, whether they are citizens, or not.

More demand

Anyone who has studied economics will tell you; more demand than supply, prices will go up quickly.

More Additional government requirements, more unnecessary costs; means higher prices.

Higher prices means less affordability and less access.

What's needed for faster, better and cheaper Health Care; and perhaps Health Insurance?

More Health Care! Train more Physicians, Nurses and PA's! Encourage more medical facilities (Hospitals and Clinics) especially in rural and remote locations.

Decide what's more important?

Poor and elderly people without Health Insurance, or getting actual Health Care.

Access to actual Health Care; or Public Broadcasting, National Endowment for the Arts, Department of Energy, Bureau of Land Management, Farm/Crop subsidies, Department of Education, The Boundary Commission, and poverty, mental illness, and drug abuse encouraging programs.

People with serious pre-existing medical ailments getting actual Health Care; or weapons the military has already told you they don't need or want, and politicians getting repeatedly re-elected.

More diagnostic equipment, labs and staff; or more taxes, regulations, political campaigns and media advertising.

I think we all know the answer.

Help those who really need it, and drop the ridiculous, self serving, useless, and archaic regulations, regression programs, destructive practices, corrosive waste and corruption, and punitive excess bureaucracies, and oppressive taxes

Drop the income redistribution scheme known as Affordable Care Act, Government Health Insurance, or whatever neuro-linguistic crap you come up with next.

If it was insurance, you couldn't manage it anyway. It's just another oppressive mandatory tax and another wasteful Ponzi scheme.

Federal Government, Much Smaller!

Many Fewer and Much Less

That’s what I think is needed and quickly.

Many fewer Departments, Agencies, Divisions, Bureaus, Institutes, Offices and Committees, and many fewer named and unnamed meaningless subdivisions.

Much less of the things specifically enumerated by the Constitution as Federal Government, and none of the things not listed.

Especially not those reserved for the several States; and none of the things you think the people would want so they might vote for you. None of things special interest groups or lobbyists tell you they want that are not enumerated in the Constitution as Federal, and very few of the things are enumerated.

Cut actual spending to no more than revenue received. Never add anything to the National Debt again. If you don’t have it, you can’t spend it. Use all surpluses to pay down the National Debt. Repeal the authorization to borrow, you have proven repeatedly you cannot manage borrowed money. You can’t even manage regular tax revenue

Reduce Federal regulations to very few meaningful (meaning they accomplish their stated purpose without unintended consequences) and cost efficient (meaning they cost less than they are worth to all affected parties) determined by a consortium of professional private sector accountants of well known integrity.

Reduce Federal Entitlements to the minimum helpful allotment. Reduce associated staffing. Limit lengths of eligibility specific each kind of aid. It’s a hand up!. Not a lifetime contract.

Phase out all Federal Government Insurance programs, Social Security, Medicare, Disability, Loan, Flood, Crop, and Tornado, etc. Get the Feds out of the insurance business; they’re are not authorized and they’re very poor at it.

Stop borrowing money to fund deficit spending. Stop creating money unsupported by our economic value.

Repeal most taxes, simplify the remainder. Establish a single tax rate percentage. Stop taxing income. Tax expenditures of every kind from every source, individual, business and all non-profits.at a single rate whether you like the product or service, think its good or bad for people, or just don’t like it. Start at a fraction of 1%, never to exceed 1% for any reason.

If you buy nothing, you pay nothing!

Repeal all excise taxes and hidden taxes; or make them known by labeling every affected product or service with the hidden tax amount so everyone can see how much is tax and how much is actual product costs, and repeal most.

Collapse most organizations into their parent Departments, substantially reduce missions and staffs. Repeal massive amount of enabling legislation and regulations, severely cut all budgets. Size staffs at no more than 80% of remaining missions and functions.

Stop buying or seizing land and building facilities. The Federal Government owns or controls much more land, equipment, material and buildings than can possibly be used, especially in the States west of the Mississippi River. Sell all land and property not used for valid Constitutional purposes for 2 years or more.

Close the Bureau of Land Management. Absorb its few meaningful functions directly in Department of Interior.

Halt all new facility construction indefinitely and cancel all facility expansions.

Cancel all Federal Government hiring, cancel all replacement hiring, cancel all new recruitments, appointments, or labor contracts. Severely limit volunteers.

Stop doing most all of things the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches initiated without any significant forethought the past 85 years.

Virtually all of them have failed to achieve their once noble purpose, and have since become gigantic, hideously bloated, zombies doing much more actual damage than any imaginary good.

If it's not equal liberty, equal justice, or equal treatment for all; I'm against it.

Attention! Presidential Candidates

What do you plan to do about the following?

1.The oppressive Federal tax burdens; direct or hidden in the price of goods and services.

2.The huge explosion of tyrannical Government regulations.

3.Enormous National Debt and continued deficit spending.

4.Ineffective control of all National borders.

5.Equal justice and equal taxation rates for ALL.

6.Worldwide terrorism.

What I want you to do:

Cut Federal budgets to no more than last years budget in ACTUAL DOLLARS; all spending, discretionary, non-discretionary, and black projects and ops(all spending is up to you and Congress and is therefore, DISCRETIONARY!), except for those already receiving insurance BENEFITS like Social Security and Medicare; fund them by additional discretionary cuts. No Means Testing for wealth or Poverty.

No more annual deficits. Keep cutting budgets until the National Debt is substantially “Paid-off”. No budget increases, even for inflation, until National Debt is less than 5% of annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP)..

Repeal and reform nearly all Federal Government Regulations, and all Executive Orders. Accurately determine the total true and complete costs to the taxpayers and consumers for those you keep.

De-fund hundreds of Federal Agencies, Departments, Programs, Projects, Bureaus, Offices, and Committees.

Evaluate all and repeal most Federal Excise taxes; and all tariffs, subsidies and embargoes.

Repeal Federal minimum wage laws. You’re preventing young people from learning to be useful workers.

Veto 95% of all laws passed by Congress; we already have way more laws than are needed. Only sign laws that apply equally to all citizens; including you, Congress and Executive appointees.

Repeal or phase out over three years all income tax exemptions and deductions; including all special interest carve-outs, credits, tariffs and subsidies.

Establish a single Federal Income Tax percentage rate applicable to all individuals, businesses and organization (including nonprofits, unions and churches; except for funds spent on their avowed purpose). Return to equal tax treatment for all under the law.

Tax all political contributions to Federal office candidates as income from individuals (if not already after taxes) excess revenue of organizations (nonprofits, churches, unions, foundations, etc.) and profit of businesses.

Stop subsidising behaviors and circumstances we want discouraged with ENTITLEMENT payments

Eliminate or significantly reduce Foreign Aid bribery and other transfer payment bribery to all recipients.

Stop special privileges and exemptions based upon sex, religion, ethnicity or nationality; allow limited exemptions for the verifiable disabled, aged, or in-firmed individuals.

Secure our borders, all of them, with traditional and modern devices, adequately train and vete personnel, and use effective modern procedures. Exclude all illegal invaders or intruders regardless their nationality or place of origin.

Build more prison and jail cells. Many criminals are avoiding punishment for their criminal behavior because of ineffective apprehension, inconsistent prosecution, sloppy sentencing, and overcrowding. Keep arresting criminals and incarcerating them, regardless of their apparent race or ethnicity, until all are being punished appropriately for their behavior.

Punish officeholder corruption relentlessly regardless of the stature, history, popularity or party.

Stop partisan treatment from the IRS and Justice Departments, or keep cutting their budgets until they stop arbitrary punishment of those with beliefs they dislike.

Punish officeholders that incite rioting and violence. It’s already a crime.

Stay out of foreign countries with whom we have no treaties or occupancy agreements. Do not occupy other countries any longer than it takes to kill them, blow-up their stuff, and load up our people, equipment and supplies and leave. Don’t stay around to train anyone, keep peace, re-built their junk or monitor elections. It’s not our business. Selling democracy is not our job. Do not repair anything or pay reparations! Do not apologize! Punish them and get out!

If you must build or repair stuff, do it here; keep peace, do it here; guard a border, do it here; monitor elections, do it here; pay reparations, do it here!

A Just War

What a brilliant writer and thoughtful patriot and citizen! I agree with this view and believe it is consistent with our few true incidents of Foreign Policy interests or National Security attacks in more than six decades. I think only one of the current Presidential contenders has the courage to speak out against all but the most necessary defensive wars, I hope he continues. Defending our homeland and its freedom and prosperity are critical; but interfering with, invading, occupying or attacking those who have not and could not threaten our sovereignty,is absurd.

Protect and defend our homeland and its wealth, health and freedom; stop interfering where no national security or international policy interests exist.

Use the enormous savings from that new policy to defend our borders, pay down our hideously oppressive debts, and benefit our law abiding citizens.

Isn’t it odd that as a nation we insist upon respect for our sovereignty and the sovereignty of our allies, but violate our allies with little justification, and violate non-allies and enemies with even less forethought.

We proclaim our sovereign rights loudly and threaten those that would violate our boundaries aggressively, but tolerate foreign invaders and occupiers who come here with less violent intentions, like to steal our prosperity, to corrupt our social services, or molest our innocent and ignorant.

Stop! Our behaviors show others that we do not respect sovereign rights; our own or those of other nations.

Since at least 1965 we have interfered in foreign countries in many affairs, events, and behaviors that were and are within the rights of sovereign peoples and nations with virtually no rational justification, except some unexplained nation interest or paranoid national security exaggeration.

Stop! It looks and sounds utterly ridiculous to those we violate, some of our allies, and most of our own citizens.

Leave nations and their people alone to solve their own problems in ways that suit them, even if it’s ignorant, dangerous and destructive; even if millions of them are injured, sickened, or murdered.

It’s their problem; not ours. We didn’t chose poorly for them, or we should not have; hopefully, they chose idiocy by themselves.

Our National security interests that would require invasion and occupation of any other sovereign nation are very few; an attack by other sovereign nations upon the lands of the United States, and upon the citizens and their property; or similar destructive attacks upon those we have agreed to assist if that event occurs; or massive destruction and genocide of innocents incapable of self-defense.

Otherwise, mind our own business. Yes literally, protect international commerce where the businesses and properties of our citizens and their lives and health are under attack, or trade agreements exist with sovereign partners that require us to defend them.

Otherwise, we have no obligation to correct the ignorant mistakes of other nations or their citizens, nor build their economies, or construct schools, hospitals, sanitary system, prisons, or anything else for them.

We need to correct our own national mistakes, build our own infrastructure, educate our own people, care for our own people, protect our own inalienable human rights.

Terrorists and others prone to bad behaviors that endanger our citizens, or their property and rights, or national needs, should be quickly hunted down and brought to swift justice; i,e. captured and punished, or killed where they are found.

Do not move into foreign nations, invited or not, and stay to help them solve what we think their national problems might be.

It’s not our concern! Find the bad people. Punish them appropriately. Load up and move out. Explain it, but do not apologize. Don’t fix or pay for any damages.

The damages and misery are their costs for having us fix what they should have fixed, so we didn’t have to use our resources and risk our people to provide a just outcome for them and our protection.

It’s easy people; their losses and misery are not our problem, even if we have a ratified Treaty obligating us to defend them….helping them all by giving them our nation’s wealth is not in my national interest.

The “Great Satan” negotiates with Iran. Am I the only one finding this completely idiotic?

Apparently, some in the western world feel Shia Muslims will honor agreements spoken or written and signed, that are not in their best interests economically militarily or politically with any non-Muslim is ignorant, demented, severely impaired and mentally ill, or all the proceeding.

Has this Administration, its minions and supporters gone completely nuts?

Muslim’s cannot honor any agreements made with infidels, signed or not. Their spoken or signed words are meaningless. I believe binding agreements with non-Muslim’s are completely invalid under their laws.

Their word has never been good, spoken or signed, with the “Great Satan”.

The Shia Muslim leaders of Iran do not intend to comply with any terms, especially those that limit their progress toward nuclear weapons, regardless what is said or written to which they may appear to agree.

Even if some agreement is reached; how could it be enforced? What penalty, what cure, what punitive measures would be prescribed in the agreement; economic sanctions? Sanctions have never once changed Iran’s intentions since 1979. Their public acts of deceit have become more clever, but their intentions remain constant.

Iran’s leadership only understands heinous violence, hideous mayhem and massive destruction.

Only one thing will work to correct their non-conformance with any nuclear non-proliferation agreement; that is the assured destruction of all that is Iran. Its leadership, the whole of its peoples; their homes, businesses, hospitals, schools and Mosques must be obliterated.

They must understand that we will use the severest cure at the first evidence of any transgression, no matter how slight.

Anything short of the likely use of heinously unfathomable destruction and their virtually total annihilation will compel them to comply.

Shia Muslim sympathizers and inept government officials, beware; you are just a useful idiot for them.

Climate Change Questions

Yes, the history of this planet shows constant climate changes, some very quickly and cataclysmic for previously existing lifeforms.

I believe our sun will grow hotter and hotter on its way to eventual super nova, but I cannot find how quickly it's getting hotter.

I am quite troubled by the data I can access regarding Global Average Temperatures. I would like to find annual average air temperatures; highs, lows and means, collected at various altitudes from reference points representing the geographical distributions of water and land, using reliable calibrated instruments and standard procedures; collected reliably over at least 100 years. All I seem to find is manipulated data, no raw data, no collection points, no representation rational.

I wonder why we don’t use all meaningful data points; we have the computational capacity to average all?

The data might not illustrate their points as compellingly as their beliefs .

Question 1. When and where were the first reliable worldwide near ground or near sea surface air temperature readings collected with correct procedure, instrumentation and documentation?

Question 2. When were the first International Standards for calibration and measurement of near surface air temperatures created and agreed to?

Question 3. How many sample points are routinely collected now; how many were also sampled routinely in 1900, 1800, 1700 or earlier?

Question 4. How are globally representative sample locations chosen? (geography, population demographics, random lat/long, 70% over water 30% over land, and how is bias avoided)

I’ve read many studies and summary reports of studies since 1989. I reviewed and commented on about 140 of the better reputedly scientific Global Warming and Climate Change studies for my employers over more than 30 years, retired since 2008. Most did not exhibit much conventional scientific method, many did not use raw unmanipulated data or rationale for chosen/excluded/averaged data extrapolations. Less than 40 studies adhered to conventional scientific method, explained rational data point choices and methods, or drew conclusions supported by the data presented. Many had clearly manipulated data to support their desired conclusions.

Question 5. What method is used to determine energy output changes from the Sun adjusted for the Solar Activity Cycles?

Question 6. For how many years do we have reliable measurements of various solar radiation components reaching earth?

Question 7. At what rate have they increased or decreased?

It matters because our sun is the primary source of atmospheric heat on earth.

Geothermal Input

I believe the next most important source of earth's atmospheric warming is geothermal escape from earth’s core and crust; magma, gas, ash and lava, venting and eruptions.

Question 8. What percentage of global atmospheric temperature comes from geothermal contributions?

Question 9. Has its influence lessened, increased or stayed the same for the past 100, 1,000 or 10,000 years?

Question 10. By what measurement methods was that determined?

Question 11. Has core magma average temperature changed measurably the past 100, 1,000 or 10,000 years?

Question 12. Determined by what method?

Question 13. Excluding human activities (life, industry, food production, wastes, etc.) what are the other life forms and their atmospheric temperature contributions?

And finally, human life contributions which I believe have been severely exaggerated in relative importance when compared to natural astrophysical (sun), geophysical (earth), and atmospheric (air/water vapor) physics and chemistry processes, known and unknown.

Question 14. What percentage of near surface atmospheric heat can be attributed to human life and all of its associated needs?

I believe the sun has grown hotter and will continue, as predicted, to slowly grow hotter for billions of years until supernova. I think magma and volcanic activity will rise and recede following peak solar cycle outputs; slowly increasing with solar output. I think human and all other life form's contributions will remain stable, insignificant, independent of the earth’s carrying capacity, and not positively impacted by any human efforts at unnatural atmospheric or climatic interference.

Don’t pick fights using artificial methods with natural processes you don’t understand well!

Stop Terrorism

Lately there has been a lot of discussion about preventing terror attacks by experienced novices and very experienced warriors; and a mountain of commentators, journalists, the well-meaning, elected officials and other morons and idiots. Few of them seem to understand much about severely inhumane violence or the history of successfully ending undesirable violent conflicts.

So, here are a few historical and personal observations about very basic evil behavior and a “How to List” to end terrorism from religious extremists or other primitive bigots.

It is clearly intended to be and is completely incorrect; socially, legally, intellectually, culturally, morally, ethically and politically.

If you have a delicate psyche or are just troubled by severe mayhem and mass homicide, or don’t what to know what’s necessary to stop the chain of escalating successive events of terrorist violence:

If not, what follows is my assessment of what has worked historically with easily observable examples. Some that you have probably not seen or heard of in more than 50 years, if ever.

First, a few general observations

Dead people cannot commit crimes of inhumane violence or terrorize anyone.
Their dead siblings, spouses, parents, children or associates cannot commit crimes or terrorize anyone in retribution; they’re Dead.
If non-participants fear they will be tortured, dismembered, eaten, burned alive, drowned, beheaded, repeatedly raped and publicity murdered, etc., or actually see people being tortured and murdered and it’s widely known; they will avoid terrorist affiliations.
Exchanges of minimally escalated mayhem stops when one group of active participants commits a most unimaginably heinous act on an enormous scale, killing and maiming large percentages of participants and non-participants, and is believed likely to continue doing so unless all hostilities are halted. (i.e. Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings - WWII, Sherman’s March to the Sea - Civil War, Kit Carson’s conquest of the Navajo - Indian Wars)
The perpetrator is unwilling to listen to accusations from allies, enemies or individuals, and seems unaffected by condemnation by nations, religions, cultures or world organizations, or their spokespeople.

These kinds of things work when carefully and correctly executed in large circumstances and small, like Atomic bombings in Japan, or John “Liver-eating” Johnston (Jeremiah Johnson movie) Plains Indian conflict in the Montana Wilderness, circa 1850-1880.

The United States has not effectively used hardly any meaningful strategies in 70 years, choosing instead something called “limited warfare” an idiotic oxymoron from which sprang elaborate and moronic “Rules of Engagement” ensuring a long list of win-less conflicts through the present day anti-terrorism charades.

My suggestions for annihilating terrorism:

Preposition Combined Services Assault Teams, equipment and supplies near all likely future terror event sites.
Train and prepare for joint mission assaults upon terrorists regardless of the geographic location.
When positioned and upon any credible intelligence, attack the location with multiple assault teams killing all there except a few high value principles, if there; collect all useful intelligence devices; destroy all infrastructure; destroy all assets; contaminate all food and water sources; flatten all possible habitation and exit quickly.
Aggressively Interrogate high value assets, when no longer useful, execute them.
Publish accounts of the attack with pictures taking credit for all illustrative factual aspects. Do not comment or reply to any other source accounts, except to discredit them as terrorists sympathizer's lacking first hand knowledge, and blame the terrorists and them for any dead captives.
Repeat all the above with increasing frequency, ignoring all commentary, individual, national, or international organization. Quickly elevate the ferocity and heinousness.
Do not apologize for anything, even something bad, even if it’s true!

Our incompetent leadership has abandoned what works for the nice, feel-good, political and social correctness of the well-meaning.

Merciless, unrelenting, heinous punishment works, choosing self-imposed artificial limitations does not. Don't worry about Terrorism's new recruits; if you are killing enough of them fast enough, new recruits will be very scarce.

And remember, when they are dead, they can’t terrorize anyone.

Your Legacy, Mr. President

If you or anyone else wanted to get an analytical sense of the value of your Presidency.

You need only ask and answer two simple questions to quickly depict the gist of your legacy.

Two easily quantified answers will lead directly to a clear picture in any one's mind.

Two numbers will exhibit your contributions to the hard working, tax-paying, law-abiding citizens of our country.

The first simple question is; How many people were working full-time (40 hours per week of more) for wages when you took Office as President?

The second simple question is; How many citizens are working full-time for wages today?

The difference between the beginning your temporary tenure and now is quantifiable as a positive or negative number.

The answers are:

Then 106* million 46.4% and now 113.44* million, 47%, a plus 0.6% increase in the number full-time workers working for money in 6 years! The current number includes a increase of millions being paid from tax money or working for organizations that never pay any income taxes.

The difference, Mr President, indicates the value of your contributions.

A minuscule increase of 6/10ths of 1 percent, nearly invisible, virtually insignificant.

* these numbers pending additional confirmation because working non-citizens, working prisoners, and questionable governmental and special tax-exempt employee numbers seem to be misrepresented. The difference between then and now may actually be (0) zero or (-) negative.

You’re Only Owed What You Earn

You should only be paid what you can prove you’re worth.

Not some amount you imagine, or some imposed minimum wage just because you are alive, sucking air and capable of reproducing.

Get an education, learn a skill; go to work. If you consistently prove you are worth something; you will be compensated based upon the value of your contributions.

If you think you are worth more; explain your value to the boss and ask politely for a reasonable raise.

If you don’t get it, work harder, follow instructions and rules, be on time ready to work, get more training and education, be a pleasant helpful worker. Ask what you are not now doing, or what you can do better.

If that doesn’t work, apply elsewhere immediately and effectively for a better job.

When you get a better job; quit the old one and move on politely.

Another word or two about Minimum Wage laws; they are unwise, destructive, erode self esteem, and one way or another are a false indication of a workers' or a jobs' actual value.

Individuals have the right to work for free; if they want. Or for some amount of money they agree to, or for food, housing or medical care, or training and experience, or to help others, or just for fun; if they wish.

Government decided wages leads to Government decided prices; then to Government decided everything; what you wear, what you eat, where you live, when you work, what you do, if you get medical care, if you get a car or a coat and what color it will be, who you can be seen with and what you can say in public and in private.
