H&M+ is here!

I don't usually write much on plus size fashion news, but think this is definitely worth sharing...

H&M+ has finally launched in the US!
H&M's BIB (Big is Beautiful) line was recently revamped to HM+ and launched in the US! The line will include styles in sizes 14-24, and only be carried in select stores. (EDIT* You CAN in fact search online which stores will have it! Their store locator has a dropdown where you can filter which categories you want to search for.) I'm also expecting it to be available online when their US online shopping website launches in the fall.

In their own words, "Following the success of last year’s Inclusive collection, H&M was inspired to extend parts of the main line to include all sizes. So this Spring, H&M+ makes its debut – bright, colorful and stylish pieces that go effortlessly with your everyday wardrobe. Some of our favorite items include a silky color-blocked pink blouse, striped tunics and a versatile navy parka. With H&M+, we want to celebrate every confident and fashionable woman around the world!"

Here a few items that H&M has indicated will be included in their plus size line:

First impression? Cute. I really like the camel/pink t-shirt. So perfect for spring! The parka is kinda "eh" but I imagine that there will be some really cute, standout pieces. I can't wait to see what other goodies they'll have! Trying not to get my hopes up but I can't help it! :P If anything, it's about time someone gave Forever21+ a run for its money!

So tell me, will you be shopping H&M+ in store? Better yet, has anyone already seen the new stuff? I'm dying to know!

***UPDATE: The 3 stores closest to me will NOT be carrying the plus size line. Way disappointing. Just like Forever21, I'm thinking that they're placing the plus size line at smaller, lower traffic locations. So lame. Either way, I'll be out there this weekend to check out the line and I'll report back! :D Can't wait!

Jason Wu for Target Kitty Tote Giveaway!

Those of you who know me in "real life" or, even on twitter, know that I'm kind of a designer collaboration NUT. That being the case, I WAS one of those crazies who lined up at 7:30am for the opening day of the Jason Wu for Target collaboration! I didn't have that great of luck in-store opening day (not aggressive enough, I think! :P), but I did stay up the night before to order items as they became available online. :)

Isn't this totally cute??? This canvas tote retails for $39.99 and is one of the more coveted items from the collection. It's a pretty substantial size, perfect for school, the beach, and everyday use! Women were SNATCHING these from each other in the store! It was kinda vicious. lol. Luckily, I got this online, so no fighting! hahaha

I've been obsessed with this hot pink skirt of late. I loved the one Gap was selling, but theirs only went up to a size 14 (sad face). Thankfully, I found this amazing one from Old Navy (up to size 20), and of course, since it's Old Navy, it was wayyy inexpensive, at less than $25! Love. Paired the skirt with a super stark black and white sweater--I love how the vibrant all the colors look together. :D Also wearing the bracelet my sis bought for me for Christmas. ♥!

I've also recently become a nail polish-aholic. I've added maybe 11 polishes within the last month! Scary, but I love them all! Most of my new colors are from Julep, one of those nifty little box-a-month dealios. I can tell my membership is going to be dangerous. lol! Also, if you guys know of good nail polish blogs (with swatches, reviews, etc), definitely let me know! I have some catching up to do. ;)

Anyway, let me know what you think of the skirt! It's a step out of my comfort zone but I love it! :D

I love the vixen-y vibe of this Rachel Pally top. The cutout sleeves and high neckline paired with a keyhole opening are decidedly more provocative than I usually wear, but I kind of love it! Staying true to my girly aesthetic, my faaaavorite feature is the bow at the nape of the neck. So cute! I'm so tempted to wear it backwards with it tied more loosely for a "secretary blouse" effect. hehe. :P

The skirt is from leathercult, which @_franceta raved about on twitter! (Side note: THANK YOU, for finding custom leather skirts that don't break the bank!) I could do with much less poufiness in the skirt, but overall, I love it. :)

Also, I will wear these shoes until they (or my feet) fall apart. Love them.

Rachel Pally designs the kind of amazing, effortlessly chic styles I constantly daydream about wearing. Everything from her collection flows beautifully, and always feels amazing on, so when her team reached out me to me test drive a couple pieces, I was beyond excited!

The Meme dress I'm wearing is absolutely stunning in person--the cool icy color and gorgeous cut are perfect for all four seasons (in Cali at least), and the modal jersey makes this dress feel both incredibly luxurious and more comfortable than pajamas! I could lounge in this all day. I love how easily it transitions from casual with sandals and beachy accessories, to dressy with some statement jewelry and attention-grabbing shoes. Oh the possibilities!

Hey guys! :) I was lucky enough to be included in City Chic's second Blogger Lookbook. I'm wearing the Animal Corset Dress, and I absolutely love it! I'm not really a print-wearing kinda girl, but I love the subdued animal print on the slightly shimmery denim. :)

I had a whole post ready to go, talking about how obsessed I am with finding odds and ends from the Missoni x Target collaboration, chunky knits, and all the goodies I want to bust out for Fall, but the news of Steve Jobs' passing has overshadowed all my usual frivolity.

In memory of Steve Jobs, I wanted to post one of my favorite quotes. This came from the commencement address he gave at Stanford university in 2005. I try to always keep it in mind when making choices, and it's led me to some of my favorite moments in life. I hope it can do the same for you.

Shiny shiny shiny! I fell in love with this shimmery kimono-style cardigan when I stopped into Zara a couple weeks ago. Little did I know that I'd be leaving a trail of sparkles wherever I go! Turns out, the lurex/shiny threading used sheds sparkles everywhere. lol! I'm like a modern day Hansel and Gretel. Just follow the trail of glitter! haha.

White after Labor Day! Global warming totally negates that outdated rule though, right? Because it's definitely still in the 80's and 90's here in Cali. Also, the blazer is actually a light blush tone that I'm absolutely in LOVE with, primarily because of how much it reminds me of Céline (the French design house, not the Canadian, fabulous though she is).

Also, I finally got around to DIYing these shorts I tweeted about a while ago! I know I'm super late on the trend, but I'm pretty sure these are going to be essential on my trip to Thailand. It was really easy, too! I just grabbed an old pair of jeans that were a little too loose for my liking, and cut the legs off (I used my H&M shorts to figure out what angle and length to cut at). Then, I made some 2 to 1, water to bleach solution, dipped my newly shorn shorts in, and waited! FOREVER. lol. Then I got kinda bored and started splashing upward and adding water for a more subdued effect than the Dries Van Noten pants that inspired this little hack job.

What do you think? :D Any other DIYs you recommend? I rather like getting crafty!

Kept things minimal and airy for one of those days so hot you'd rather be passed out half naked in front of a fan. Which is what I imagine it'll be like when I'm in Vegas this coming week for WWDMagic! I'm really excited to be attending and I hope to share with you guys at least a few photos of what's going on! :)

I know it's a fashion event and people are going to be dressed in amazing clothes, but I kinda of just want to show up in shorts and the thinnest tshirts I can get away with wearing in public. 108º weather and I just don't get along very well, lol!

Oh well, a sneak peek on the styles that'll be coming out Spring 2012 will be so worth the heat!

All the Fall fashion floating around has me wanted to layer and layer (and layer), apparently. It was way too hot for this outfit and I pretty much wore it for an hour before succumbing to the heat and changing. I'll definitely be wearing this look a lot when it gets colder though!

Anyway, I celebrated my 24th birthday this weekend (it was last Friday). Thanks twitter and FB friends for the crazy amount of birthday love! ♥ The weekend was a much-needed break from everything, and Summer birthdays are, of course, the best excuse EVER to eat ice cream cake. YAY! haha

Lane Bryant T3 Denim Review

While attending the FFFWeek Lane Bryant Blogger Conference in New York, I was thrilled to see that they were revamping their denim offerings with a new line of jeans! T3, which stands for Tighter Tummy Technology, boasts a built in elastic waist that doesn't actually look like elastic. It's also got some mesh-y inner lining where your stomach would be. The design itself is sort of hard to explain but trust me--it's pretty cool. The jeans claim to mold perfectly to the body, eliminating muffin-top, and definitely making for a comfortable pair of jeans.

As a bit of a denim junkie, I was super excited when Lane Bryant got in contact to have me review a pair of the T3 jeans. Upon receipt of the jeans I was glad to find that they had stuck to a simple, dark wash with a slightly flared cut.

Pros:

These jeans fit amazingly at the waist, though for overall size, you could probably size down for a snug fit.
The wash is a perfectly dark, classic wash, and the length is good for people who prefer flats. I typically wear a 32" inseam if I'm wearing flats, and would only need to tailor these slightly.
The high rise of the jeans does a great job of eliminating muffin-top, and is quite good job at "sucking you in," if you're concerned about tummy issues.
The innovative stretch design minimizes gaping at the rear. Even though it isn't an issue for me since I don't have much of a rear end, the Lane Bryant Conference's T3 demo definitely showed that the T3 technology was successful.

Cons:

As someone who prefers her jeans on the fitted side, I wish the leg had been cut more narrow. It's a personal preference, but I just like my jeans that way.
Similarly, I wish the jeans had a longer inseam. I prefer to pair my jeans with my highest heels or wedges, and these are cut way a bit too short for me to do so.
The rise of this jean is extremely high (we're talking up to my natural waist--2 or 3 inches above my navel). The high rise is good for "sucking in," but I find it a little restrictive, especially if you're wearing these somewhere you'll be sitting for a long time. Rise is just another preference though!

Overall, I think the design of the T3 jeans is totally genius--the denim's elastic waist is comfortable without looking maternity, and I love that the LB design team has kept the washes classic. I really hope the LB team releases some new cuts--I'd love to have these jeans in a lower rise and maybe a skinny leg or a flare with a longer inseam!

Shopping Spotlight: My-Wardrobe

A recent online search landed me on my-wardrobe.com, a high-end e-commerce site based on the UK. They don't carry plus size clothing options but there are SO MANY gorgeous shoes and accessories that I'm dying to add to my wardrobe and accessories closet! :D Here are a couple of my favorite items:

Sam Edelman Leopard Petty Flat Ankle Boots: $285
Barbour Olive Wax and Leather Tarras Satchel: $163

I loooove these boots. How amazing would they look with shorts and an oversized white T or even a little black dress?? It's pretty amazing how neutral and versatile leopard print can be. At $285, they're definitely on the pricier side, but the quality looks amazing, making these boots a totally good buy.

Another fave from the my-wardrobe site is the Barbour messenger bag. The leather looks like it will only get better with tons of wear, which I find is the case with most designer brands such as Barbour--the more you wear it in, the softer and more personalized the bag gets!

The nautical-y, shinny metallic weave of this oversized sweater is pretty much perfect. It would look just as amazing paired with skinny jeans and flats as it would paired with a frilly skirt and gorgeous heels! I've also coveted the Sam Edelman studded heels for ages but haven't bitten the bullet. Maybe they'll be a birthday present to myself! hehe :D Same goes for the equally gorgeous Anton Heunis necklace! Such a statement-maker.

The line is online only and H&M has not set up a US shopping site yet--a super sweet blogger friend of mine was kind enough to send me a few pieces from Sweden! (Thanks Jenn! ♥ ). On the bright side, H&M should start US online shopping within the next six months or so. Yay!

San Francisco was amazing. I think we did every single tourist attraction possible, which, for only being there 4 days, was quite the feat. My favorites were the tiny shops everywhere (picked up some beautiful artwork), amazing food (hello cowgirl creamery!), and gorgeous views.

My take on color blocking! I've been wanting to try a loud, colorblocked look for a while but the items in my closet just weren't working for me. When this dress arrived from Asos, I just knew I had to figure something out! Anyway, I hope you like what I came up with. It's definitely not one of my usual looks but it was lots of fun to put together. :)

Ooh, side note, I promise I'm not this pale/fluorescent! haha. I took these photos kinda late in the day and my camera settings ended up being kinda wonky. I have zero photo editing skillz (yes, with a "z") so what I have is what you've got! Live and learn, I guess! :P

Just a quickie! Some photos from the weekend. Wearing one of my most favorite tops everrrr. Had it hanging in the closet for about 3 months now. The straps are about an inch too long so they have a tendency to slip (my tailor to-do list is about 30 items long). This American Rag crochet vest I got on super sale ($13, I think!) from Macy's did a pretty good job at strapping those unruly things in place.

I obsessed over this Calvin Klein dress for the longest time before stumbling upon it for 60% off during one of Macy's epic one day sales! I love it to death but am half-scared to wear it since it's 100% silk and I'm so accident-prone. Anyone have tips for taking care of silk? I need help. Badly.

The jacket was also a steal at just under $25. I love how slouchy and drapey and awkward the front is. It took the boy a minute to figure out that it's supposed to be longer on one side...he thought I was just wearing it wrong. lol.

Anyway, I can't seem to get back in the groove of work and blogging after my not-quite-long-enough vacation in San Francisco. I'm sitting here daydreaming of sunny walks on the pier, awesome seafood, and little shops overflowing with the most gorgeous handmade knick knacks. At least I have my sister's visit and my mini trip to Vegas soon. Summer is meant for vacation!

Any of you lovelies have fun plans for the Summer? I'll be living vicariously through you guys for the next month until my Vegas trip! :)

Who would've thought that you can walk into Kmart and walk out with this outfit? I didn't until I walked into the Kmart on 34th in NYC! I love the LYS line, even more so now than when the it was first released! The new designs are more on-point then ever, and I am so psyched to see that their Fall/Holiday 2011 collection is going to be just as fierce.
Another huge plus? I ♥ their social media team!

Anyway, I apologize for being so behind! Trying to play catch-up at work and sifting through the 700+ photos I took during FFFWeek has had me completely swamped!

I just wanted to drop a quick note that I'll be in NYC for FFFWeek starting Wednesday! :D I'll be at the Sunset Cruise, Lane Bryant Blogger Conference, Kmart LYS Bloggers Brunch, and Finale Runway Event, so if you'll be at any of these events, definitely come say hi! :D

Okay. Still need to finish packing! There is soooo not enough luggage space for all the things I want to bring! I almost wish I'd bought those bags that you can vacuum pack your clothes into. lol!

Can't wait to see everyone in NYC! :D
