While on your fitness and weight loss journey, there are going to be many challenges that you’ll have to conquer so you can succeed in achieving your goals. Unfortunately, many of those challenges are going to be from friends, co-workers, and family members.

So I acknowledge that it takes a lot of guts to get out there and start achieving your goals. The process is not easy and it’s not fast and you’re going to have to endure a lot of pain and heartache from the actions of people around you, even when they are your loved ones.

If the world was simple and your friends and family members were aware and all-loving they would support you 100% in the way that you need to be supported.

But let’s face it, people are screwed up. They have a lot of baggage that affects other people around them and that includes you. They are going to pull you into their world of baggage and you’re just going to have to deal with it like a SuperHero Goddess that you are.

Here are some ways jerks, friends, and family members try to destroy your deepest desires to change your body, your health, and fitness goals.

Sabotage Your Weight Loss and Fitness Journey Tactic #1 – Making comments either directly or passive-aggressively.

The more you’re out there, making an effort to change your health and body the more likely people are going to comment. It could be in a positive light but most of the times it’s pretty negative.

Know that this is going to happen and you can’t really force people to change their jerk status. Understand that this is your life, so you’llneed to create boundaries.

Here are examples of the experiences of a few Curvy Goddesses and how they handled it.

“A few times that I attended a Zumba class I had people tell me that I dance pretty good for being a big girl. Stupid remarks like that give me more motivation. I love myself no matter what size I am.” — Erika A.

“It’s the eye rolling I get when I am walking…. I am at 88lbs lost… and lost 80 of that before having a gastric sleeve. I am going to take the plunge and find a gym, it is getting too hot to walk during the day here in Texas outside, and the prospect of walking in the dark is not for me. So.. my mindset is, they can kiss my ass… I have proven to myself I have the courage to do things I set my mind to do.” — Lynn C.

“The most outrageous thing I heard while walking into my gym was, “I don’t know what you’re doing. Black women are supposed to be big!” This came from a Black woman standing outside of my gym.” — Taye DV.

It’s perfectly fine to tell these people that you don’t appreciate their comments. Look them directly in the eyes and know that you have a right to do what you’re doing.

‘”Good for youuuuuu’ ‘You can do this’ They say it, like I’m a special needs child. Head tilted to the side and everything.” — Tariece L.

Sabotage Your Weight Loss and Fitness Journey Tactic #2 – Pushing food on you.

Right when you’ve announced to your co-workers and family that you’re going to make changes all of a sudden there’s a pizza party at the office and your mother has invited you to a special dinner just because…she loves you.

No, it’s not your imagination. Saboteurs are everywhere so you’ll have to be prepared. Maybe keep it a secret to most people and share it with only one or two of your closest friends who give you the support you need.

And it gets worse. When you start losing weight they come out of the woodwork; the jealous ones, the ones who are afraid that they are losing you. They are all going to come out when they start seeing just a glimpse of progress and change in you.

So again, I warn you to be prepared.

Sabotage Your Weight Loss and Fitness Journey Tactic #3 – Discouraging you from working out.

One of my friends is on a winning streak with her work outs and shared with me last week that she’s getting a lot of push back from her family and friends. Some are commenting that she doesn’t need to work out, that she’s being too obsessive.

So the opinion of your family and friends matter more than what you want to achieve in YOUR life?

Because if it does, then quit right now.

Because you’re not going to get through another week, month, or year being controlled by the opinions of the people around you. You’re giving them the keys to your life.

Everybody needs to exercise. And being obsessed with it is not a disastrous thing. I’d red flag it if you’re working out 4 – 8 hours a day which all of those Biggest Losers participants do, but noone says anything about their insane, dangerous, and unrealistic exercise habits.

Sabotage Your Weight Loss and Fitness Journey Tactic #4 – Making you the bad guy for changing.

Ah, playing games, giving you grief by trying to make you feel guilty for changing for the bettter. This always makes me laugh. And I’m laughing constantly because it happens consistently with my clients who make radical changes in their lifestyle and it starts to physically show.

They report back to me saying so-and-so is acting weird around me. Or so-and-so shoved a fried food platter in front of me and told me to eat it then told me that we had better have a talk when I said “no” to the food.

There’s anger and hurt feelings in this drama situation all because you’re getting healthy and fit and focusing time to do good things for yourself.

So that’s what it looks like on the surface.

But it goes deeper…

Some are afraid that they are losing you. They’ve only known you a certain way and for them to experience the changes in you can be scary for them.

You may be a reminder for others close to you that what they are doing to their bodies is not what they truly want to do but they are still not willing to change so their reaction is to act defensively.

Others will give you the reason that you’re being too healthy and obsessive. But I don’t buy that. It may be that they can’t control you anymore and they are masking it turning the table, expressing to you that you’re being too obsessive.

So now, from experience, I give a warning to my clients to prepare for what’s coming. It really is challenging to make changes in your life and even harder to constantly deflect the negative reactions toward what you are doing.

It truly is par for the course and it’s something that you need to learn how to handle and manage.

You’ll need to ask yourself what is of utmost importance to you. Is what you’re doing for you more important than making your friends and family comfortable?

Sabotage Your Weight Loss and Fitness Journey Tactic #5 – Being the food and fitness police.

The star is the one who is doing it, taking action. You are actively achieving your dreams so the critics are the other people on the sidelines who think they know better.

That unsolicited advice worthy of the eye-roll. Don’t buy into it. If you’ve got your plan mapped out there is no room to go on a tangent and listen to these self-claimed coaches and experts. You didn’t hire them.

And to be honest with you, they can easily side-track your focus and your efforts.

Take a deep, long breath and remind yourself your plan. It doesn’t matter what their true intention is, if you didn’t ask for advice then ignore the commentary.

Whatever the reason behind all of the crazy, hurt-filled comments and behaviors from your closest friends, loved ones, and co-workers while you’re actively pursuing your goals know that it’s their stuff.

You certainly do not have to take on all the baggage, and if you do, understand that it will most likely veer you off to a permanent halt of what is important to you.

It’ll be the weight loss and fitness sabotage tactics from them that worked! Be upfront. Be steadfast. Be passionate.

The phrase, the plus size fitness experience may be completely an oxymoron to those who are not plus size and to those who do not get you and me. But I’m sure you know what it means.

You are a plus size woman, but that doesn’t mean you’ve quit in striving to be fit. You haven’t quit trying.

You also understand that as a plus size woman you can be fit, strong, and healthy. That’s probably why you’re here at Curvy Goddess Lounge.

My name is Diane Williams and if you aren’t super familiar with the Curvy Goddess website, I am the creator and founder of this website and the Curvy Goddess Plus Size Fitness brand. I am also a certified personal trainer for plus size women who are ready to get in-shape and start eating healthy.

Because I’ve been deep in my work helping other women I have forgotten myself, forgotten that I am also a woman who needs some self-care.

To be completely honest with you, from this lifestyle of online marketing and diving into my work I’ve gained a ton of weight. For many months, I’ve struggled with shame and feeling completely illegitimate.

And I’m sure the majority of the fitness industry would think I was a hypocrite for letting myself go. But this is where I need to remember what I would say to my clients and how I would treat them.

This happens all the time to many women. And usually a change in lifestyle or a huge bump in the road can be the catalyst that brings my clients to me.

Don’t play the shame game.

I don’t play the shame card with my clients. I don’t look at them in a condescending way and tell them that they should know better and that they should not have been lazy. Because none of this is true and none of these tactics help for the better, and inspire people to take action with achieving what they want in life. Am I right?

So I’m reminding myself the same. I’m giving myself patience and love in every possible way, like I do with my clients. I know that I am my worst critic and hardest on myself, more than with others. But what does that even accomplish, but only guilt and shame?

So enough with that nonsense…

I’m going to do something really special, different, and FUN! Well, I’m hoping it will be fun for you.

Most of my blogging for the next 12 will be documenting my fitness and wellness journey; from healthy eating, to my workouts, to people in my life and how they react to my new lifestyle, to maybe even idiots who think that I shouldn’t work out because I don’t deserve being in the same space as they are.

Any topic around the plus size fitness experience and the journey that I’m going to take is fair game!

And I’m calling my Plus Size Fitness Experience, Curvy Goddess In The City!

I’m quite sure if you’re on the same kind of journey you’ve had to deal with the same issues or you’re dealing with the issues right now.

Watch the video below, Ashley Graham getting it in. INSPIRATIONAL!

It’s time to acknowledge…

I have not worked out as consistently as I can. And I promise to do so, 5 – 6 days of some kind of exercise. This will definitely help with the weight loss although many (those dieting experts) believe that it will not, but I will prove how much it helps.

I have gained weight from my new lifestyle of 15 hour days and being on my laptop, so it’s time to take action and be accountable to myself, through Curvy Goddess Lounge by sharing my journey with you, every step of the way.

I’ve been a certified personal trainer for over 16 years now and I have been a plus size woman in all of my adult years. It’s time that you know that I have the same struggles that you do. That I have the same fears and also desires in achieving physical and health goals.

I don’t want to ever be skinny and sacrifice my physical, mental, and emotional strength in this process. I always want to be strong, inspiring, and fun even when the process can be challenging.

So here’s to me and my plus size fitness and wellness journey. I’m taking the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’m taking it all in. I ACCEPT!

So are you on the plus size fitness and wellness journey? What have you been doing? Please share in the comments below, we’d love to know.

Plus Size Personal Training Fitness Tip #2 – Getting Started

It’s not about “being perfect” when you get started on your fitness and weight loss program but it’s about getting started.

The journey is going to be messy. It always is so understand that holding onto the idea that you have to be perfect is going to slow you down greatly or it may likely stop you from ever achieving your goal.

What’s more important to you?

Right before we get to the starting gate of an exercise and diet program we are pumped; motivated to get into amazing shape. After a few weeks and maybe even as early as a few days that motivation starts to lag.

Why does this happen to most of us Curvy Goddesses?

It’s so easy to put our big important fitness and weight loss goals off and say “next week” or “I’ll start on Monday.” But before you know it, next month rolls by and it passes, then the next year. And if you’re not mindful, a whole decade may pass you by.

Even if the added weight is a health risk or you have slowed your life or even stopped your life because of it, you still haven’t taken action.

What can we do to keep us accountable with our health and fitness goals?

I know. I know. You’re Superwoman!

And so you expect yourself to do everything perfectly…every time. You put that pressure onto yourself that you’re supposed to do all of this alone and perfectly.

It may seem admirable in your mind but let’s give up the control for once in your life and cut yourself some slack.

You’re human. You’re a beautiful one at that…Perfectly imperfect!

Choosing to create a healthy and fit body and lifestyle without accountability will definitely increase your chances of not reaching the finish line or severely slow down your progress to a turtle’s crawl.

Remember, when one area of your life suffers such as having sluggish energy and feeling “YUCKY” in your body while your back and other joints are aching then other aspects of your life will suffer too.

I think you know that exercise and having a proper diet are extremely beneficial in creating a healthy body where energy levels can soar through the roof. You feel strong in your body. And all of the feel-good energy affects other aspects of your life.

Having a healthy and fit body is POWERFUL!

You feel POWERFUL, Curvy Goddess.

Then I ask you if you know this then why put it off one more day?

Well, maybe we don’t have to know why you’re putting it off but instead prepare and plan, then take action.

Stop the suffering and let’s look at how you can create a powerful support system of accountability to have that healthy and fit lifestyle on lock down!

Being a certified personal trainer in NYC for about 14 years now I’m going to suggest a few ways to keep yourself accountable and on track with your fitness and weight loss priorities and goals.

Hire a fitness professional to keep you on the straight and narrow.

Most personal trainers will charge you if you cancel without giving 24 hours notice. The possibility of wasting your hard earned money will help you stick to your personal training workouts.

This is a perfect example of the power of accountability being implemented. I see almost every single day as a personal trainer how a relationship of support and motivation with my clients will help them stick to their fitness and weight loss goals.

Most of them would never work out alone at the intensity that they work out when I am there with them. Most would not even show up to the fitness studio or to the gym if they didn’t have anyone to meet them to work out.

Join a gym that is close to where you work or live and schedule in your workouts.

The gym is not necessary to get into AH-mazing shape but if you’re going to drop some moolah down and invest then don’t make it a challenge to get there.

What are business hours?

Is it clean?

Does it ever get crowded?

Is the equipment well maintained?

Keep track of your food intake and workouts with a journal. You will be surprised how inspiring it is to see your journey on paper.

Many have created their own blog to document their journey. Some will write their impressions and discoveries in special diary.

Find a friend who has similar goals to yours so you can keep each other accountable.

Having an accountability partner plays a powerful role in helping you be reminded to keep your “eye on the prize” and remind you why you’re doing what you’re doing.

As you create the body you want and feel you finally deserve in health, vitality, and fitness, surround yourself with those who support this new way of being.

You’d be surprised how many will not support something positive because they feel that you are taking away from their shine. Remember they have some unhealed issues. Be compassionate, but be protective or yourself at the same time.

Now it’s your time to think about what kind of accountability plan would put in place to get to your fitness and weight loss goal and comment below. I would love to read it!

Remember, you deserve a complete, full, and healthy life and the power of accountability will get you there in lightening speed!

Until next time Curvy Goddess, Stay Strong and Stunning!

I use weight loss as a general description but it’s more focused on an overall fitness, healthy and weight loss program.

Here’s the reasoning behind creating a personal 30 day weight loss plan and my back story.

I’ve been sitting on my behind creating Curvy Goddess Lounge along with the entire Curvy Goddess brand to help plus size and non-plus size curvy women (this is YOU) and to inspire them and YOU on their fitness, health, and weight loss journeys.

I’ve been absorbed and passionate about this work. Serving is definitely my mission and life purpose but along with this wonderful discovery of purpose I have forgotten myself and have neglected my personal needs in many aspects of my life which includes my own fitness and healthy eating lifestyle.

A few months ago I would have been so embarrassed to admit this because in my mind I’m supposed to be perfect.

Can you relate?

But I am not going to beat myself up about it and play victim and cry “failure”.

I am a beautiful and powerful woman and the best way to express this is to take action that supports this expression.

(Remember this for yourself.)

I chose only 30 days..for now because I know myself pretty well. I have a tendency to go to extremes and I’ve learned that the more steady and sane my weight loss plan is the more stable I will be and the likely I will be successful.

So the following will be a general overview of what my 30 day weight loss plan looks like:

I’m taking a holistic approach with this 30 day weight loss plan. I’m no longer ignoring the mental or the spiritual well-being parts and focused solely on the physical aspects; healthy eating and exercise.

I am complex and this whole weight loss and health thing is complex too. So ignoring certain parts is basically setting myself up to fail, yet again.

I can’t ignore the fact that my body is connected with my mind and my spirit and these parts are a vital role for my weight loss achievements.

30 Day Weight Loss Plan – My Mind

My mind has a mind of its own. It sometimes doesn’t want to play by the rules. So it will do things that my body and spirit do not want it to do. Like kill my great track record with exercise and healthy eating after a couple of days or a few weeks into the plan.

So how am I going to make it cooperate this time?

I find that my mind will rebel and create an upheaval if it’s stressed out. It’ll go for the overeating and binging if I place too much stress on my body and spirit.

So this time I give myself love, respect, and some relaxation – down time. Let me dream, imagine, and fantasize while I luxuriate in a hot bath or a foot massage once-in-awhile.

30 Day Weight Loss Plan – My Physical Body

Strength training for me is so magical. I see amazing results when I take advantage of resistance training. But I think I need more, full expression through my physical body. I have always loved to dance and I’m not sure why I haven’t continued dancing since it feels so good to me.

It is definitely something to explore.

Healthy eating is a must for me because I love how I feel when I eat this way. Lots of green and colorful fruits, organic and clean.

And when I feel great it means that I want to do more things that make me feel even better.

My 30 Day Weight Loss Plan – My Spirit

Keeping my spirit joyful is very important to me. Now what will make my spirit joyful?

When I ask this, answers come to me rather quickly.

Light, lots of light around me

Aroma of fresh citrus and flowers

Luxuriating in slumber on a regular basis

Explore my sensuality and passion as a woman

These are things that will keep me joyful and celebrate my life. When I am in appreciation and in celebration then the whole process of my 30 day weight loss plan will be more enjoyable for me.

In a few days I will give you more details of my 30 day weight loss plan. Healthy foods I’m eating, exercise plan, what’s working and what’s not working. So stay tuned!

So did I miss something? What would you incorporate in your 30 day weight loss plan? Comment below. I’m curious to know what you think, Curvy Goddess!

Until next time Curvy Goddess, Stay Strong and Stunning!

And most of us expect that the answer is a step-by-step menu plan and fitness regimen to get to the finish line because we want to do exactly what she did.

I confess! I have bought into this myself. Wanting a “blow by blow” of how she did it. And then with high hopes trying to follow the diet and workout PERFECTLY with absolute…complete…FAILURE.

Something is truly missing with this formula because we all should have been “skinny” by now based on thousands of weight loss success stories and weight loss plans available to us over the years.

I would think after the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th time I’d understand that something is really missing. Someone’s not giving me the straight business, the real talk.

What do you think the missing piece is?

What do you think the truth is?

I believe it’s the internal “stuff”. The really painful messed up internal stories that I have created from past experiences and from beliefs from parents, teachers, the mean kids in school, and the strangers around the corner blurting out something nasty about me that I made so very powerful that it sunk into me deeply for decades.

And now when I walk down the street I hear their voices.

Sometimes it is my voice telling me that I am too fat.

I am not enough.

A man won’t love me at this size.

My mom won’t be happy with me at this weight. She will be disappointed if she sees me this way.

I am too ashamed to show my family how big I am.

I am not lovable enough.

Does this sound familiar to you?

And how when I feel that my heart is heavy repeating these statements would I think that just following a meal plan and fitness routine would do the job?

How on Earth would I think that not dealing with these painful beliefs would make me think that it would disappear into nothingness and absurdity?

They don’t.

They just sit inside me…

Waiting to show themselves right after a quick glance from a stranger…

From an innocent dinner event with friends…

From a start of a new fitness routine during the New Year…

These beliefs that I’ve held for so long that override every single attempted health and fitness change will still be there if I don’t deal with them right here, right now.

We underestimate what is happening with us internally and are so focused on external methods. Sometimes I think it is a way to distract us, to ignore that real pain, the Ego wanting to save itself.

I believe what we can’t see can be so much more destructive to our lives.

So, Curvy Girl, you must acknowledge what is in you. And you must delete and destroy those beliefs that do not do you justice in your life, for the sake of your future.

So how do you do this?

There are paths that you can take. But understand that it doesn’t happen overnight. You’ve had these painful beliefs about yourself for many, many years.

Here are a few places to start:

Release technique – EFT

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

Meditation

Prayer

Heart Center Meditation

DISCLAIMER: So the above is a list with a few places to start. This doesn’t mean that these are the answers to all of your weight and health problems. They could be a possibility but they also may not be. I have searched and searched for myself and I know that one place may lead to something absolutely life-changing.

Without taking that first step I would have never gone to step 17 and had an AH-HA.

Understand that to be powerful in your life means taking full responsibility for your actions. Trust your heart and your intuition.

So tell me what you think down in the comment section. Are you searching within along with following an exercise and healthy eating routine? What has been a very powerful belief that is stopping you from succeeding? How are you going to release this belief?

If you’ve had an amazing love affair in your life do you remember what it was like?

How did you feel?

Did your whole body sing out for joy?

Were your senses heightened just thinking about your lover?

Well I have had a few in my life and I still remember the feelings I felt.

Everything in my life was expansive and intense.

Tastes were more intense and richer.

The colors were vibrant and alive and the sounds seem to amplify and explode into a symphony of beautiful music.

I felt I was on a high from life and love.

Everything in life is more than good being in that feeling.

You feel taken care of with a lover and you take care of that lover in that special way a Curvy Goddess can, not because you have to but you are inspired to.

Here are a few thoughts that my fellow Curvy Sisters mentioned when I asked what does a lover do for a Curvy Goddess:

A lover not only supports you in your goals but a healthy lover celebrates and appreciates your body.

A lover will sometimes cater and pamper to your needs.

This is the direction where I want you to go with yourself. You be the lover of you.

Your new luscious lover is…YOU!

Treat yourself like a lover would treat you.

Now how would that look like?

Here are a few ideas:
You celebrate and worship your body.

You treat yourself like you are the most beautiful woman on the planet.

You have no reservations to moving your body.

Nor do you hesitate feeding yourself healthy and healing foods.
So this is how you’re going to start on your fitness and weight loss journey.

And if you’ve already started then let’s continue the journey with this new attitude.

An attitude that inspires. An attitude that you have a new lover who truly treats you with honor, respect, dignity and love.

So when you clearly have a grasp with that kind of attitude then the journey becomes much more inspired, more enjoyable.

So with this attitude you wouldn’t take a Spinning class because you have to lose 10 pounds in two weeks.

You take a Spinning class because you love, love, love the instructor.

You love the music.

You love the challenge.

You love how you feel and look afterwards…GLOWING and ALIVE!

If you’re stumped and you feel that you’re out of practice with knowing how to treat yourself with love as a lover should and you think that you can’t pull this off, don’t worry.

There will be many opportunities on Curvy Goddess Lounge where I will show you how to embrace this new attitude.

Now watch and listen to the music video I created for you to inspire and remind you how lovable you are.

So my Curvy Sista, you’re going to help me continue to build a beautiful, strong community with plenty of Curvy Goddesses supporting one another and making our dreams come true in fitness, health, and happiness.

Starting on the journey together by making the decision to start. Every one of us especially you is important.

By making the decision to create a fit, sexy body, and feel-good-in-my-skin healthy lifestyle you will influence the whole Curvy Goddess community.

There will be new secrets and tips weekly just for the Curvy Girls in this community.

So today I want you to make the commitment to start on your new health and fitness journey with this new attitude. You be the lover of you.

If you have started but fell off the wagon then recommit now below by making a comment.

Let’s face it Curvy Sister. We live in a society that is obsessed with “skinny” and although I’m not knocking it I know that it has affected me and my Curvy Goddess World and well-being.

Based on the media’s definition of a woman’s ideal body size I think we are supposed to eat lettuce, cleanse and detox for a lifetime, while doing 2 hours of cardio a day.

Also we’re supposed to listen to our doctor and obey his every word while disregarding what we are feeling and what’s going on with our bodies.

And also hide in dark, shapeless clothing that we purchased from the back of the department stores.

How about you? Have you taken in these messages from people who for some reason are so committed with what you SHOULD be doing with your body, your health, and your life?

So much that you believed it to be true and forgot about your Greatness? *gasp*

I must remind you that you are Great! You are a Curvy Goddess and although there seems to be many of us in the world a lot of us have bought into the idea that we are not worthy of all of the things we deserve, like Love, Honor, Dignity, Respect, and being Cherished.

Let me remind you.

You deserve Love.

You deserve that time for yourself every day. That morning coffee or tea where you can sit and reflect before you start your busy day with family and work.

You deserve that time for yourself in the middle or the end where you can reconnect with your body and move it, groove it, grind it, swing it, and shake it.

You deserve the Honor, Dignity, and Respect from yourself and from others no matter how you are feeling and seem to look in their eyes.

Below are the 3 major power assets that they want you to forget you have as a Curvy Goddess.

SEXY: Could you imagine what it would be like if every single Curvy Goddess in this world tapped into her “Sexy”? I think there would be rioting in the streets!

Being sexy is not about showing everything in tight revealing clothes out in public. I’m talking about you having a true sense of respect for yourself. Having this sensual elegance and strength and owning it.

What would that look like for you? What would you do in your life?

Own your SEXY…

Now how could you be inspired to know what sexy is like if you feel so far away from it?

PRIDE: This asset sometimes is misunderstood.

I’m not talking about a boastful Ego-filled showing off of your assets, body, and accomplishments.

I’m talking about this inner peace and confidence.

You walk (float) into a room in a peaceful state of pride and confidence because you know you are worthy. There is no doubt in your mind.

Or you take your first exercise class after a very long break and you stumble and fumble and you feel like a kid with two left feet.

…but you do it anyway.

EMPOWERED: All h*%l will break loose when every single Curvy Goddess feels completely empowered.

You are empowered when you make sure that voice of doubt and insecurity is turned off or way down low and you do what you please so that your life is kick-butt MAGNIFICENT!

You influence the ones you love for the better. And you don’t give the naysayers any air time.

Capiche Curvy Goddess?

Good.

Watch and listen to this music video I created for you to inspire and remind you how special you are.

Now share with me in the comments section what your dreams are.

If you truly knew that you owned Sexy, Pride, and Empowered, how would your body, health, and life change?

Thank you so much for reading, watching and commenting. I’m excited to have you be a part of this special community of Curvy Goddesses.

Together we are going to create beautiful and magnificent things for you and for your fellow Curvy Sisters!

Incorporating a healthy eating strategy is necessary when wanting to lose weight, Curvy Girl. You can work out all you like. And exercise is the perfect way to reshape the body and increase the metabolism while building a strong, firm curvy body but it does not give you an all-access pass to eating whatever you want. That’s not what healthy eating is all about.

What is healthy eating? Healthy eating is not about calorie counting. Healthy eating is a non-dieting method to creating firm curves and a way to lose loads of fat the healthy way.

Healthy eating may take a little longer, but then again how long has it taken you to lose the rest of the weight dieting?

Were you suffering?

Did you feel hungry all the time when you were dieting?

My personal training clients who have succeeded in losing the weight did it the natural way without any gimmicks. They trained with me 2-3 times a week and did some more movement on their own.

They also chose the healthy eating path. The transition is smoother when they completed their weight loss journey and needed to maintain. They just continued with their healthy eating plans and worked out still because finally it was a way of life.

It was part of what they wanted to do to maintain health and a part of their happiness plan.

So what were my personal training clients’ healthy eating plans? Well there seemed to be some differences but I also saw some very similar healthy eating habits from them.

Healthy Eating Tips From My Successful Curvy Goddesses:

Skip the regular soda and artificial sweetened soda and limit your alcohol consumption. – I’m sure we can all agree that artificial sweeteners are not good for you. Studies have shown that brain tumors have grown in monkeys and mice. There have been strange diseases popping up from drinking soda.
Drink water instead and if you don’t like straight water then you can spike the water with lemon, lime, orange, or cucumber slices. Refreshing!

If you want to lose the weight you’re going to have to limit the alcohol consumption to a glass or two of dry wine per day. The sugary mixed drinks are out of the question but can be left for special occasions.

Eat only when you’re hungry. – My clients who succeeded didn’t starve themselves. They were never on any crazy diets. They just cut back on their portions and started making healthier choices. Just eating only when you’re hungry and stopping when you’re satisfied is simple and hard at the same time but in the long run will become a habit.

Consume healthy carbs. – Just because you’re working out doesn’t mean that it’s okay to go for that pizza or french fries. Go for a baked potato instead or yams. Eat a real meal having whole foods rather than the pizza.

Stop relying on sports bars. – There is some powerful marketing going on out there. And most of us have bought into the idea that sports bars are part of healthy eating plans. Not really. Look at the ingredients on the package.

Healthy eating out when you want to socialize and connect with friends or when you’re out on a date but you’re still on the weight loss track is tricky but doable.

Again you choose the healthy eating to lose weight rather than the dieting plan because you want to not only make a smoother transition over to a healthy lifestyle after you’ve reached your goal but you want to enjoy the weight loss and healthy process.

What is healthy eating? (when socializing with friends) – YES there is such a thing.

Here Are Some Healthy Eating Out Tips:

Choose grilled and broiled rather than fried.

When drinking alcohol choose dry wine over sweet dessert wine and beer.

Skip the dessert but if you can’t pass it up then share it with a friend.

Stick to a baked potato with salsa rather than french fries.

Choose two appetizers rather than the entrée

Still be conscious of your hunger gauge.

Healthy eating to lose weight is always hard Curvy Girl. I completely understand. The struggle is real. But it is always a choice Curvy Girl and you can do it wherever you are and whatever situation you’re in.

I have been there where you are. But understand that the shortcuts from dieting are not really shortcuts.

Dieting truly is a long road to heartache and more suffering with a disconnected relationship with your body.

Go for the lifestyle change. Go for the healthy eating plans, Curvy Girl. In the long run your relationship with yourself and with food will be a happier, healthy one.
