Microsoft Windows 10 is here…wait…. Where is Windows 9??

Microsoft announced recently that the latest version of Windows under development will be Windows 10, otherwise known as “Threshold”.

Many in the tech industry were convinced that “Threshold” would become Windows 9, but it seems that the Operating System giant has other plans. In fact Terry Myerson, the VP of Operating Systems, said that it just wouldn’t be right to call it Windows 9 since it will be so revolutionary. That’s pretty bold! Other than that statement there really has not been a good answer for the version skip.

Although the completed version of Microsoft Windows will not be sold until later next year, tech heads can actually register for the Windows Insider Program and start testing the new version of Windows now. While Windows 9 was supposed to be a free upgrade to Windows 8, it appears Microsoft may have pulled one over on its consumers. Since it is obviously “SKIPPING” Windows 9!

The real purpose it seems of Windows 10 is to skip to a version that will be the universal operating software for numerous devices including servers, desktops, laptops and tablets. It will focus on combining all of the features of local applications and the universal searches and apps of the web - especially the Windows Store. Sounding familiar yet?? Hmm… Can you say Apple Store??
