Alaya's custom monogram

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Mon, 12 Nov 2012 17:33:00 +0000

I was so excited to get a custom monogram request on Etsy from new client Alaya, who was looking for a unique design to make into wax seals. How cool is that?

She scouted the old Custom Printables website and found the perfect frame for her initials, AD. We couldn't have been more pleased with the results!

Over the next few weeks, Custom Printables will be phasing out our old site and transitioning to our new entrepreneurial endeavor, Bull City Studio! Please bookmark the new blog and visit regularly!

Birthday invitation for Sadie

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Sat, 02 Jun 2012 13:00:00 +0000

Has it already been a year? My "niece," Sadie, is turning 5 this year and my best friend Erin asked me once again to design her birthday party invitations. This year's theme: Fairy Tales! We went with a storybook theme featuring a scroll and narrative instead of the typical invitation text.

Fairy tale invitation fit for a princess!

Have a look back on Sadie's previous birthday invitations:

Melissa and Jared's Wedding

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Thu, 31 May 2012 13:00:00 +0000

Have I got a wedding for you! Newlyweds Melissa and Jared just sent me some amazing photos from their May 12 wedding, for which Custom Printables designed a number of cards and signs, along with the wedding program. A fabulous couple, the Edwardses were married at Penn State University. Their custom monogram and colors were based off of their invitation. I am thrilled to share these pictures with you, courtesy of the bride. All of the pieces were printed by the bride, and the programs were mounted on purple cardstock (double-sided) for extra sparkle. It's amazing what a simple picture frame will do to snazz up the event!

Jamie's orange and grey wedding suite

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Thu, 08 Mar 2012 16:29:00 +0000

Jamie and I worked diligently to make her orange and gray wedding invitation suite a reality! Inspired by the Retro Red and Turquoise Suite, we came up with the most delectable set of wedding stationery including the invitation, address labels, response card, directions, a wedding program, and even Mad Libs! Jamie was a delightful bride to work with and I am so pleased to share her suite with you now.

The following gorgeous fonts were used on the suite (click on the images to visit the font website; EcuyerDAX is free!):

Wedding Photos: The table numbers

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Sun, 11 Dec 2011 15:09:00 +0000

Here's the next installment of the stationery I created for our June wedding. Inspired by our amazing floral arrangements provided by The Watered Garden and our beautiful table furnishings from Mitchell's Catering, I took a cue from the varied greens to make double-sided table numbers with a pop of elegance. Using our wedding fonts Burgues Script and Bell MT, the table numbers added that extra touch of elegance.

These 14 table numbers are now on sale in our Etsy shop.

Wedding Photos: The escort cards

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Mon, 05 Dec 2011 15:16:00 +0000

In the first installment of a series in which I'll show some of my favorite DIY projects from my own wedding, I'm starting with a photo of the escort cards I designed especially for this special occasion.

Using vintage images courtesy of The Graphics Fairy, I created one-of-a-kind escort cards for my guests. The cards were coded for the waitstaff so that they would know what meals to serve each guest: knife = beef, fork = chicken, spoon = vegetarian. Using my wedding theme fonts of Burgues Script and Bell MT, each card featured the guest's name, his/her table number, and the meal requested. With a special pearlized paper that can be printed on an inkjet and prefabricated placecards from LCI Paper, my girlfriends and I spent an early summer night slicing cardstock and assembling these with double-sided tape. I could not have been more proud of how they came out!

Stay tuned for more event pieces from my June 26 wedding!

Maria and Patrick's wedding program and signs

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Sun, 16 Oct 2011 19:18:00 +0000

It is always a joy to work with my regular client Theresa, who does amazing event planning in the Atlanta area. For this project, we did a two-sided, single sheet wedding program for Maria and Patrick, who will be married shortly. Their gorgeous colors, magenta and silver, make a striking impression.

We also did a custom monogram to add to various pieces:

Finally, a matching sign to adorn the candy bar!

Alyssa and Travis's wedding program

noreply@blogger.com (Valerie G) — Sun, 16 Oct 2011 19:11:00 +0000

Alyssa and Travis opted for a gorgeous orange and blue elegant two-page program based off of a piece I did years ago for Mindy and Vince. Alyssa opted for a tea-length program to accommodate the longer service. I am so pleased with the sophistication and classic elegance of these fonts and graphics!

Alyssa will print these on heavy cardstock for a lovely single sheet, double-sided program.
