After several great years in Shanghai, it's time for me to leave. Although I started this blog as a way to force myself to get out, experience the city and find something lovely, it grew into something I couldn't even imagine. I hope this blog will provide a bit of useful information and assist travelers, those who are new to the city and those who are simply curious about Shanghai.

Stay Real Cafe at IAPM

Shanghai has seen a trend of fashion brands branching out to cafes and restaurants. Within the past year or two, we've seen Vivienne Westwood Cafe, Muji Cafe and Gucci Cafe, to name a few.

Taiwanese street fashion brand, Stay Real, is always hip and now offers us a cool place to grab a sweet or a cup of coffee after shopping with them.

The cafe is a perfect mix of cute and cool. The wood floors and metal chairs help to give off the street vibe coordinates with Stay Real's clothing.

I love this retro van! It's too cute for words. You better believe girls crowd around this van and take tons of selfies. Aside from a perfect photo op, the van also serves as the coffee bar.

Unfortunately, I visited Stay Real Cafe around 8pm so the dessert menu was limited. I ended up with not one, but two cups of coffee!

The cafe flows into Stay Real's retail shop. You can find their super cool fashion and accessories or even something for your house.

The cafe was pleasantly quiet, not freezing and overall a very relaxing experience. Is Stay Real Cafe cute? Not really, but it's definitely cool.

I stumbled upon a new cafe on my way to Zoo Coffee.

Let's enjoy a cup at cafe TTOMA!

On the first floor of a nearly empty mall at N. Sichuan Road (the same mall with the Shimala/ Shimamura, now closed), you'll find cafe TTOMA. It's a spacious cafe with a trendy interior and a super cute mascot.

The wood floors, exposed pipes on the ceiling and variety of textures to feel and see make this place really stand out. By they way, there's a closed off room behind a glass door that is perfect for visitors who want to enjoy a cigarette with their coffee but not bother the other customers.

Tables for two shaped like the cute mascot and several of the chairs have cat ears! How cute is that?!

Here's the slightly lewd mascot, TTOMA.

If you can't get enough of TTOMA, you can take him home with you. There are plenty of stuffed toys, candles, apparel and of course coffee with the mascot on them.

If you aren't a fan of coffee, they have gelato that looks amazing!

Of course I was pulled to the Americano set. For 46rmb you get a HUGE Americano and a waffle.

Cows in Shanghai!

Shanghai, the city that never fails to surprise me, has done it again. Inside a top luxury mall, I stumbled onto a piece of greenery that flooded me with feelings from my small home town in. I hope you had a chance to see this exhibit in person, if you didn't, please enjoy the photos with me!

K11 mall, held a special exhibit called "Dairy Cow Academy" which featured live cows! I couldn't believe it myself, but there were real calves and a huge mother cow inside the mall.

Welcome to Moo Moo Park. For a limited time, K11 mall had a exhibit to educate the public on where milk and dairy products came from. Aside from the lectures and hands on activities that occurred, they had several live cows on display for people to pet. The biggest surprise was that it didn't smell at all! If you've ever been to a farm, you know that animals smell, but some how the management at K11 mall were able to ensure that only the pleasantly sweet smell of hay was the only thing the customers would smell.

The cows were just chilling in this pen next to an udon shop.

People were encouraged to stick their hands through the fence and pet the cows to their heart's content.

After checking out the cows, I walked over to Urban Harvest, a restaurant that is known for not only its health conscious dishes, but for sourcing the ingredients right outside of the restaurant.

They've set up a small green space inside the mall, where they are growing herbs, sprouts, and mushrooms. Just walking through this area calmed me and gave me some relief from the stresses of living in a mega-city surrounded by steel and concrete.

I didn't want to leave the small oasis of greenery, so I picked up a juice in a commemorative bottle and found a spot where I could stare off and enjoy the view.

Although the exhibit is over, Urban Harvest always has something green growing.

Review: Nanchatte Seifuku

Recently, at Mao Live House, a seifuku (sailor uniform) event was held which gave me the opportunity I was looking for to finally buy the school uniform of my dream. I quickly logged onto Taobao, the god of the Chinese online shopping world, and put in an order. Read more for my taobao review and pictures from the event!

I purchased 5 items from the shop for the low, low price of 143.8 rmb (23$) shipping included!
The order was placed on October 1st and reached my place in Shanghai on October 6th.

Quality (for the price) /5

The quality is not great, but you get what you pay for. The items are super affordable and if it's just for a costume party, I think it's great!

Ribbons

These ribbons are super cute and well made. They are very easy to wear and don't require you to tie the bow yourself, so you'll always have a perfect bow! The material is also very nice and sturdy and adds a classy look to the overall outfit.

Blouse
Size L

Hahaha this is one of the times, I misjudged my size. L size is huge on me! The material is not see through, but it's a bit thin. Considering the price, 35 rmb (5.50$) I really can't complain though.

Skirt
Size M

FYI this skirt does not have an elastic waist band so be sure to measure properly before you order! Again, the material is a little thin, but it's fine. I really have no complaints about this skirt at all!

Sweater
Size L

L size is great for that oversized look. The sweater is most appropriate for spring or early fall. The biggest disappointment here is the color. I thought it would be more "classic" kogyaru color, but it's very mustard looking! I'll probably end up selling this.

I have to admit, I was extremely disappointing! The main reason I decided to purchase a seifuku from this shop rather than the hundreds of other shops on Taobao was because of the promise of 24hr shipping. I purchased this seifuku on October 1st, specifically for the even at Mao's (October 4th) but did not receive the package until the 6th. That was very upsetting!

Despite the broken promise of 24hr delivery, the quality for the price is good and if I wanted to buy more accessories or even another set, I would probably buy from this shop again.

Overall Opinion /5

This shop gets a 4/5 rating for being extremely affordable, having decent quality goods, and a wide range of color options. If the shipping was better, I would give it a five out of five.

I decided to pair the seifuku with a black cardigan I already had, added a pair of devil horns and small ribbons on my hair to pull together a gothic/vampire school girl look.

Review: Too Cool for School Fresh Gore Sleeping Pack

Hello my spooky cuties! It's finally October and Halloween will be here before you know it. I love spooky and creepy things as much as I love cute things, so when I saw Too Cool for School's Fresh Gore Sleeping Pack, I had to buy it.

The promise of vampire like eternal youth is something most of us hope. After looking over the ingredient list, I found that the key ingredients, Dragon Blood and astaxanthin, although scary sounding, are from natural sources. Dragon's Blood is a Peruvian tree and astaxanthin is a vitamin A derivative.

Texture 5/5

If you've never used a sleeping pack you might find it a bit strange. Some sleeping packs have the consistency of a heavy night cream while others, like this one, is more gel like. I found it applies very smooth and doesn't leave any sticky residue on my face once it dries. You will need to let in soak in for a bit. If you have fringe or long hair, I recommend letting it fully dry or else you'll end up with sticky hair plastered all over your face!

Scent 5/5

There's no noticeable scent which means they don't add any unnecessary chemical fragrances!

Color 5/5

Honestly, I expected this pack to be bright red because of the name, Fresh Gore, and the Dragon's Blood extract. Instead, the color is nearly translucent with only the slightest tint of red. Once applied, you don't notice any color. I love how there's no added dyes!

Packaging 4.5/5

The packaging is very cool in my opinion. The matte black finish of the bottle give it a gothic edge. It doesn't look like something fit for Dracula's boudoir, but young vamps will find this a nice addition to their gothic collection. It gets 4.5/5 hearts for solid packaging that suitable for the price.

Results 3/5

Eh. I felt my face was moisturized, but it wasn't any different that my daily moisturizer. If you are looking for a serious face pack, I wouldn't recommend this product. However, if you have normal skin, then this might work for you.

Although I bought this product in Hong Kong, Shanghai has several Too Cool for School shops. I'm sure you'll be able to find it here!

Taobao Shoe Review

I love cute things, a great bargain and quality goods. Unfortunately it's really difficult to find shoes that hit all three of my criteria (read my lolita shoe review!), but recently I've had amazing luck and purchased an adorable pair of shoes from Taobao that are sure to delight you as well.

Let's Shop!

First of all, I have to mention that these shoes are a replica from Dream V which look really similar to a pair that Liz Lisa released last year. You can view the Dream V and Liz Lisa shoes on the bottom of the page for a comparison.

Although I have purchased replica goods in the past, I not longer support replica handbags or clothing. Shoes on the other hand, I go through like tissues. In Shanghai, I walk a lot and my shoes easily get beat up and broken, so I don't want to spend a ton of money on them. But this post is not a replica debate (and I don't want to start one). Here is just an honest review of some shoes I recently purchased.

Unlike many of the shoes I've purchased on Taobao, these shoes did not reek of glue or chemicals which was an immediate relief. The soles are obviously glued on and are not adhered by nails. After several months of wear, I haven't had any problems with the soles coming unglued! The gold caps on the laces are still intact and they have stood up to the test of city living.

These shoes are so cute! I love the tiny hole punches and the scalloped edge design. The gold shoelace caps are also really lovely and add give these shoes an appearance of costing way more than they did.

First, I must mention these shoes are a little bit heavier. If you've ever worn "creepers" like the ones by T.U.K you'll know that platforms are heavy bottomed shoes and do weight a bit. These shoes can certainly be worn all day without any trouble once you become accustomed to the weight of the shoes, but if you will be walking a lot, I found I did get a bit more tired in these shoes than other platforms.

This shop shipped incredibly fast! Two days after I placed my order they arrived at my doorstep. The shipping fee was also fairly priced and I really can't say anything bad about this shop. They've won my confidence and I will be buying from them again!

Final Thoughts

These shoes are a big win for me! I absolutely love them and the shop was super quick and easy to deal with. If you live in Shanghai, I recommend these shoes. However, international buyers must be aware that they are a bit heavy so shipping will cost you more.

Cute meet Cool at Yo'Hood fashion event

Hello beauties! A few weeks ago, fashion conglomerate, YOHO had a huge event in Shanghai. I was lucky enough to make it out to their event and snap a ton of photos to share with you.

Let's enjoy some cool Shanghai!

First off, what's Yo'Hood and who's YOHO?

Yo'Hood is a trade show/ exhibition of street fashion open to consumers brought to you by YOHO(!). They seek to bring authentic (ie. non replica) top tier street brands to Chinese consumers and support start up brands too! A few of the well-known brands YOHO has to offer include: Stussy, G-Shock, Stay Real, izzue, Moussy and more!

Of course, the visitors of the event were super stylish. They were fashionably reppin' their favorite brands and their best looks. So let's get on to the photo dump!

The trade show focused on bringing attention to the brands that YOHO! offers, but a portion of the trade floor was sectioned off for an indie and vintage market. The selection was really eclectic and fun. From vintage hats and pins, to original designs, the area was a lively mix of fashion and accessories.

Of course, as a lover of aesthetics, I was so happy to see the booth staff were not only decked out in the brand they were representing, but they were all cute/handsome.

Aside from shopping, Yo'Hood had very few other activities or events. I did find this stand that was giving super rad hair cuts and shaved designs.

Everyone knows fashion and cars look great together! This cool Lambo was a key selfie point.

I love, love, love her look.

The "sick" makeup look of under eye blush and her red lips complement her simple but stylish dress.

This brings me back to my old style... I think I ~~want~~ need one of these beanies.

One of the event of the trade show was a fashion show by HIPANDA.

Unfortunately I don't have many photos from the show.

On the second floor, there were even more brands!

Cute Travels: Hong Kong Pt. 2 Fashion

Welcome back to Cute Shanghai!

Today I'm bringing you the second part of my Cute Travels to Hong Kong.

First a few shots of girl's street fashion!

FYI, my trip to HK only allowed me a day and a half to explore. Even with this short amount of time, I learned it's possible to do and see a lot in Hong Kong. Get ready for my whirlwind shopping adventure.

Tsim Sha Tsui

If you love shopping, you can't miss the Tsim Sha Tsui area in Hong Kong. It is the go-to place for mid to high end brands as well as all your Jfashion needs. Take the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui station and walk along Nathan Road to find several huge malls. This area also has literally a Sasa or related cosmetic store on every block!

Other points of interests are: Kowloon Park, Avenue of Stars, The Promenade

If you can't make it to Japan, Hong Kong is a great alternative to finding all your favorite

Japanese brands.

Summer time is a great time to shop and save! Nearly every shop

was having a huge sale.

I love Asian makeup packaging.

Seriously, I have a habit of buying cosmetics based on their packaging alone!

Aside from the "ladies market" that reminds me a lot of Shanghai's QiPu Lu, there's a huge mall Langham Place, and an amazing bargain mall called Argyle Center.

The ladies market was too similar to what's in Shanghai, so I skipped past it.

I'd recommend you check it out there and don't forget to bargain!

Trendy clothing, shoes and accessories can be found in this multi-story complex.

It's so cheap! Most of the fashion items are between 20-200 HKD!

This is a great place to buy cheap basics.

Forest style girls can also find something they love at Argyle Center.

Liz Lisa... nope, it's a replica shop and it's damn expensive.

Don't be fooled and think these are genuine. If you are in HK, stop by on of the many

official Liz Lisa shops.

If you have patience to sort through them, you're sure to find a gem.

Kwai Fong

More amazing shopping deals can be found at Kwai Fong just across from the MTR. I didn't have enough time to check out much of this area, but the shopping center across from the metro station has a lot of cute things.

The first floor is a crazy array of colors.

Take the escalator up to the 2nd floor and you'll find so much more!

Cute Travels: Hong Kong Pt. 1

Fashion, food and fun straight from Hong Kong to you! Get ready for a huge and I mean HUGE photo dump from a quick weekend trip to Hong Kong.

This post is all about characters, mascots and food I saw while in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong food is really strange IMO, but you can never go wrong with coffee and sweets.

HABITU coffee in Tsim Sha Tsui is a lovely place to stop for a midday treat.

Okashii Land is a small convenience store shop in the metro stations.

They have all kinds of yummy snacks.

By the way....

vegetarian (vegan and ovo/lacto/pesca) food is pretty easy to find in Hong Kong.

The top left is the "weird HK food I mentioned". It's instant noodles, American cheese with lobster sauce. Why would you serve instant noodles at a restaurant!!??

Korean skin care and make up brand, Etude House, has been successfully operating in Shanghai for nearly 1 year. I stopped by the shop to pick up some products and found some cute beauty tips that I'd like to share. Read more for a micro-post!

Post-it Note style beauty tips from Etude House are available for free. You can find them grouped together on the wall (usually near the entrance of the shops)

Asian skin care emphasizes not only products, but massaging techniques that allow your skin to look "QQ" 可愛 aka cute

Bath house: Gokurakuyu

Japanese bath house, Gokurakuyu opened up a new location at Jinshajiang Road this spring. I loved it so much, I bought a member card after my first visit! This place is definitely worth checking out!

The huge Gokurakuyu sign makes this massive building hard to miss.

Walking into the bath house you will immediately feel the Japanese vibes. Before you can enter the facilities, just like at the Korean, New Star bath house, you must take off your shoes. The assistant dressed in a yukata-esque outfit will tell you to pick a shoe box and point you to the reception desk.

Don't forget to look up! The ceiling is beautiful.

One of amenities that has received a lot of positive feedback is the many stylish patterned lounge wear they offer. Regular guests and members have 7 choices. The 8th design, cool black with koi fish is for VIP members only.

FYI I'm a petite girl, but the size small were really tight around my bottom. The dress option is much more comfortable.

After my first bath (yes I take multiple baths), I like to go upstairs and relax in the bedrock rooms. Each room boasts specific healing properties that are written outside the room in Japanese, Chinese and English.

If you get hungry, there's a snack bar on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The have Asahi beer on tap and soft serve ice cream among other treats.

If you want a real meal, I recommend you stop by the restaurant. The fake cherry blossom trees are always in full bloom and provide a lovely atmosphere.

Gokurakuyu always has something new. Their seasonal menu really represents the flavors of the season and offer some unique items that are hard to find outside of Japan. Goya juice anyone?

Hiyashichuka is one of my favorite Japanese summer dishes. I haven't been able to find this dish anywhere else in Shanghai. If you know a place, please tell me!

If you like anime, you know after a hot bath there are two drinks that are celebrated: milk and beer! In addition to those drinks, you can order shouchu and sake here.

Sadly, looks are deceiving here. The sashimi was pretty bad.

Let's talk about the baths! (sorry no original photos)

The baths here are AMAZING! First, all the baths use filtered soft water and have added minerals to recreate the effects of a natural onsen. They have four large baths (carbonated, cedar, silky bubbles and a seasonal one), one bath for the kiddos, several individual baths with massaging jets and three goemon style pottery baths. There's also a section for electric massage within one of the baths!

The scrub and spa

Inside the bathing area, there is a room for body scrubs and body masks. Worth noting is the massages offered in this area are waaayyy shorter than those at New Star and they are more expensive. I also personally feel that the body scrub is too abrasive for my skin. I like a good scrub to exfoliate but I left feeling a little raw. The body masks are great though!

On the 3rd floor, they have another area for spa services. I had a foot massage that is basically on par with other massage parlors in Shanghai. I probably won't get another massage from Gokurakuyu since I feel there are better places to do that in Shanghai.

Overall, this bath house has become one of my favorites in Shanghai. I really recommend you check it out!

Taobao Review: Clover Fish Mu Fish sock shop

Sock Review!

Today I'll be reviewing a few pairs of socks I purchased on Clover Fish Mu Fish's taobao shop.

First up are a pair of otk (over the knee) socks that are a replica of Angelic Pretty's Cinema Doll print.

At first glance these socks are great replicas, but under a scrupulous inspection small flaws in the design become noticeable. The design is not printed, but instead is woven into the socks. Many of the bows have "holes" in the image where the grey thread did not complete the image.

The denier is opaque, but if stretched to its maximum, some skin color can be seen.

For a price of 12.74rmb, I really can't complain about these small details. Unless someone has their nose 2 inches from your legs, these socks look beautiful and indistinguishable from the authentic AP ones.

Next up, are two pairs of otk socks in both a light and dark colorway.

These socks are great! There are no flaws in the design and they are also of a decent denier. I have never seen this print before, so I am assuming they are either an original design or are license free one.

Here we have a Grimoire replica pair of stockings. Unfortunately these are my least favorite. I understand that each computer monitor display is a different color, but I was not expecting it to be this different. The webpage photo shows these stockings to have a whitish-nude base, but the ones I received are pink! Yes, I love pink, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

Putting the color difference aside, the black ink appears to be runny or blurred. This is most visible with the word "noir" and with the black bows.

I suppose it wouldn't be a total replica without adding the brand name "Grimoire"

I do not recommend these socks since I've seen better replicas, but you can find them here for 22rmb.

I love room socks! I don't have much to say about these cuties, but they are really soft and fuzzy. The yellow bow immediately fell off one of the socks, but aside from that, they are great. These babies are available here in a variety of animal faces for 8.8 rmb

The Gift Show: Tokyo Health and Beauty, just ended and I brought you photos from the exhibition hall and tons of photos from the two fashion shows. I hope you like huge photo posts!

The exhibition hall had everything from cosmetics to food and furniture. For the closing day, I thought attendance was low, but that allowed the visitors to leisurely walk around and enjoy the expo.

Vivienne Westwood Cafe

This spring, the mother of punk fashion, Vivienne Westwood, opened up a cafe in the K11 Art Mall. Since my obsession with her rocking horse shoes (what's up old school lolita!) and her iconic orb necklace seen in the anime and manga, Nana, I have loved Vivienne Westwood.

Let's check out her cafe and see if it's as cool as her brand!

Take the elevator up to the 2nd floor and you'll quickly see a huge Vivienne Westwood shop. Just around the corner is the cafe.

I was a little shocked at the open concept of this cafe. The photos from news sites and blogs gave off the appearance that this cafe had an exclusive setting with a more elaborate atmosphere. The cafe has two sections for patrons to enjoy.

The above area is inspired by a runway catwalk. The white backdrop with Vivienne's logo does seem like a nice photo op, but I didn't see to many people posing for photos there.

The second area, a bit smaller than the catwalk room, features a mural that takes you back to 18th century France. Also worth noting is the 13 hour clock, a little reminder of Vivienne Westwood's World's End shop.

Don't expect to find children running around this cafe. I hung out for about an hour and saw mostly a crowd ranging between 25-50 years old.

The dessert options are gorgeous!

In addition to a la carte items, you can order an afternoon tea set!

The table wear has a tartan motif, very Vivienne Westwood like!

Her signature Saturn orb logo is everywhere and really adds to the image of a brand cafe.

Surprise! I didn't order an americano. Today's coffee is a classic latte.

As for sweets, I ordered an eclair. The flavor and texture was superb!

Surprisingly, this cafe is reasonably priced. A latte and eclair set me back 85rmb which is about the same as other themed cafes in the city.

If you get a chance, I recommend you stop by Vivienne Westwood Cafe. The atmosphere is very relaxing and posh. After stopping by, you should definitely check out the rest of the mall and see what new art exhibit is up.

Cute Travels: Tokyo, Japan Pt. 2

Hello lovelies! Sorry I was away for so long. This summer has been really busy!
I'm back with part 2 of 3 of my Cute Travels in Tokyo, Japan. Get ready for a photo heavy post behind the cut.

Day three continued!

Day three was a super long day! I started at the Koishikawa Garden, stopped in at Moomin Cafe then headed to Shimokitaza.

Grand Bazaar has a lot of second hand lolita items!~

I recommend you check out this shop in addition to Closet Child.

It's easy to see the vibe in Shimokitazawa is different from other

parts of the city.

Day Four

Harajuku fashion was one of the first cultural aspects that drew me to Japan. On day four, I headed over to do some final shopping and check out the local street style.

I arrived really early, but Takeshita Dori was already busy!

Chinese app: Meipai

Capture the wonders in 10 seconds!

Meipai is the hottest way to capture and edit short videos and turn your photos into amazing music videos. Nearly every girl I talk to uses and recommends this app. Let's see what all the hype is about!

Meipai, available in Chinese and English, allows its users to create videos up to 10 seconds which are then uploaded to the Meipai community and can be shared on Weibo, WeChat, Facebook and many other platforms.

The community aspect seems to be one of the reasons that this app is highly recommended. Think of it like a hybrid of YouTube and Facebook. The content is all original user submitted and can be seen by all (no real privacy features). Other users can then like and repost your video. Through the community you can gain followers and fans.

In addition to creating videos, there is some basic editing tools like filters and music, but not much else. You can also string up to 6 photos together and make "music video".

Why do I love Meipai?

Immediately after I moved to Shanghai, I downloaded the app and started making videos. I love how quick and easy it is to go from filming to uploading and posting. It's really a no fuss app. The biggest draw back, which actually isn't that big of an issue, is the filters sometimes have strange or irrelevant English phrases. I'm also not pleased that there are no privacy features to prevent videos from being seen by all. I'm hoping they'll come out with an update that allows for "friends only" viewing.

Updates: Store Closures!

After living in Shanghai for more than two years, I've come to accecpt the sad reality that shops, big or small, often struggle to stay afloat in this city. Between the high rent prices and the booming online shopping trend, it's a miracle if a shop can stay open for more than a few months.

I've done my best to drop by shops that I've previously blogged about to bring you the lasted info on what shops have closed down or moved locations.

Liz Lisa

Liz Lisa Shanghai, located at Jiu Guang (Hisashi Mitsu) mall closed down several months ago. Although you can no longer find authentic Liz Lisa clothing in Shanghai, their Hong Kong shop does have an official Tmall shop that provides quick shipping and excellent service.

Swimmer

Swimmer, a Japanese zakka brand, closed its shops for good around XXXXX. Prior to its closure, they had a massive sale that had girls lining up for their last chance to get their hand on Swimmer's cute items.

Le'Teen

Another cute shop has suddenly closed its doors. Le'Teen (Le'Ting/ Yurakucho) was one of my favorites for domestic shopping that fed my desire for romantic and cute clothing. Their two locations at Dimei Guang Chang and their huge two floor shop at South Shaanxi Road have all closed. Their Tmall shop is still up and running, so be sure to check them out online!

This shop, famous in Japan, was located in the basement of OPA. Since OPA has closed, they have relocated several blocks away to a small set up inside what I feel to be another dying mall. *yikes!*

Cute Travels: Tokyo, Japan Pt. 1

During the Chinese New Year holiday I traveled to Japan and spent some time in Tokyo. Get ready for some too cute to handle photographs behind the page jump!

I've tried to organize the photos by location to make it easier for future travelers to get an idea of where things are within the city and also what you can expect to do and see in a day. I hope you enjoy my cute travels in Tokyo Japan.

My first day

I arrived at Ibaraki airport, just outside of Tokyo.

I then took the shuttle bus from the airport to Tokyo Station.

After walking around for a while, I went to my airbnb apartment and had dinner in the area.

Day Two Shopping!

Since my place was really close to Ikebukuro and Shinjuku, I rode the train over to Shinjuku to start the day with some shopping at my favorite store, Liz Lisa.

After that, I headed to Shibuya to visit the gyaru mecca, Shibuya 109.

I made it in time for the Final Bargain Sale!

The shop girls at Ank were so sweet, they charmed me into buying a

full outfit!

Japanese street fashion is so amazing!

After Shinjuku and Shibuya I headed to Takadanobaba where I heard there was a discount shop called Shimamura that might hold a few gems.

I love kitsch restaurants like this pizza joint.

I dropped my shopping bags in a coin locker and headed back to Shibuya for dinner.

After an exhausting day of shopping, I finally headed back to my rental apartment and drifted off to sleep.

Day Three

My third day was all about enjoying nature and taking it easy in some of the more relaxed areas of Tokyo.

After a quick breakfast at Matsuya, I set off to Korakuen Station to visit the Koishikawa Garden.

I worked up an appetite walking through the garden and planned to visit Moomin Cafe for lunch. Luckily I arrived just before the lunch rush and only had to wait 15 minutes. The line was ridiculously long when I left the cafe. The estimated waiting time was over 1 hour!

Following the Moomin Cafe, I went to explore some more cool areas of Tokyo and saw tons of cool and cute things.

I spent a total of seven days in Tokyo and have many more photos to share with you. Because I have so many photos, I'm going to split the post into several parts.

Shimala Cute and Cheap Shopping!

Shimala, known in Japan as Shimamura, is a second hand and discount shop known to stock quality brand items. (You can compare it to TJ Maxx or Marshalls in the US.) This company started in Japan but has branched out to several international locations including Shanghai. Let's take a look at some of the awesome loot that Shimala holds!

Does this place really sell something I'd like..? Yes, don't be deceived by the basic and sad looking display.

I know I'm not doing a good job at convincing you, but if you look beyond the entrance you'll find the goodies.

Cheap shoes! China is a bargain hunter's dream, but with the low price tag often comes terrible quality. Luckily at Shimala you don't have to worry about getting shoddy knockoffs or heels that will break after one wear. They stock legitimate brands that are overstock and past season (just like TJ Maxx).

Check out these wedged espadrilles by the Japanese brand, Sorridere for only 129rmb!

It rains alot in Shanghai, but don't worry Shimala has got you covered. You can pick up a cute set of rain boots and a matching umbrella to keep you dry and stylish.

If you love frilly lingerie, Shimala stocks many Japanese brands that are super cute. Aside from bras and panties, they carry a ton of adorable stockings and socks and a wide selection of roomwear.

A girl can never have too many bags. Although the purse aisle is a bit small, Shimala has a decent array of cute bags that make it nearly impossible to leave without putting one in your shopping basket.

I'd recommend you check out Shimala with the intention of finding business casual clothing or basics and be surprised if you find one or two more interesting and trendy items.

These contacts are so adorable! I've worn them for the entire month and really don't want to throw them out. That's how much I like them. The color is a perfect natural gray and the outer ring creates the cutest dolly eyes ever! Although the color is a bit dark, they do add shine and interest to my eyes.

I had no problem wearing these lenses all day and even wearing them consecutive days! My only critique is that I do feel my vision is a tiny bit blurred when I wear these even though I have 20/20 vision and these lenses have no prescription. The blurring is not really that much of an issue for me during the day, but becomes more problematic in low lighting.

Review: Taobao shop " Seasons Lolita"

Today I'm bringing you a review of a pair of lolita shoes I recently purchased from the taobao shop Seasons Lolita

Right out of the box these shoes stank to all heaven! They smelled like glue and paint and that factory fresh smell. Luckily, after setting them outside overnight the smell went away.

Aside from the interior of the shoes having a poorly printed logo, these shoes seem very well made. There are no flaws in the gluing, stitching or cutting of the details.

So why do they get a 1.5? The first time I wore them, the left heel broke! I don't know exactly what happened, but I was walking one moment and the next the heel had broken off leaving me stumbling for balance. They get a 1.5 rather than 0 because I don't know if I slipped first, then the heel broke, or if the heel broke and caused me to slip. Other than the bad heel, the rest of the shoe seems decently made.

These shoes come with hidden snaps on the strap that make putting them on a breeze even with long and decorative nails. The snap is cleverly disguised by a cute heart shape buckle that lets you adjust strap length.

Another great detail is the two removable bows on the strap that are held in place with a simple clip.

The final detail that I will mention is an imprint of "Angelic Pretty" on the sole of the shoe. Oddly enough, these are not Angelic Pretty replicas but are a dupe from Baby the Stars Shine Bright.

Do I really care about that mistake, no, but I do feel it was unnecessary to include the logo imprint on the sole if the inside has the Season's logo.

Comfort

These shoes are extremely comfortable. The height is perfect for many occasions and is even suitable for standing for long periods.

The shoes took a while to ship (about 1 week) which is longer than most shops, but the fresh off the factory smell told me that the seller lazing about but actually needed the extra time, because of production.

After the heel broke, I immediately contacted the seller and they suggested I send the shoe back to be replaced. Although I did not bargain for it, the seller did not offer to pay for the return shipping fee.

Final Thoughts

The broken heel really put me off of this shop and sadly I will not purchase anything else from this shop.
