AVALON AIRPORT, GEELONG, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA, Feb. 26, 2013 – Piper Aircraft Inc. is one of the first manufacturers to adopt the most recent G1000 software supporting a three display avionics suite as standard equipment in new Twin-Class Piper Seneca V aircraft models available in 2013. The announcement was made here today at Airshow 2013, the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition held Feb. 24-26.

Garmin’s G1000 is a seamlessly integrated all-glass avionics suite that makes flight information easier to scan and process. The G1000′s design brings new levels of situational awareness, simplicity and safety to the cockpit. Piper Director of Marketing and Communications Jackie Carlon said, “The Garmin G1000 avionics suite is now on all of our M-Class and Twin-Class aircraft. The G1000 with three-displays standard in the Seneca V now gives pilots abundant flight-critical data that provides exceptional situational awareness and that will contribute to safer flying.”

The latest Garmin G1000 software on the Seneca V includes the following: Baro – VNAV approach (used for LNAV/VNAV vertical guidance whenever SBAS is not available or not approved), Vertical Profile View, User-defined holding patterns (provides the ability for the pilot to manually specify holding patterns, and the GSR 56 – Iridium Transceiver.

Worldwide Connectivity
The G1000 can now display worldwide weather that informs pilots of METARs, TAFs and winds aloft around the globe, with an optional GSR 56 transceiver. Radar and satellite imagery are also available through this service for the United States, Southern Canada, Western Europe and Australia. In addition, the G1000 can support voice and data services that let the pilot make worldwide phone calls, send text messages and send email via SMS from the airplane’s cockpit using the GTN as the dialing and messaging interface.

The G1000 flight deck presents flight instrumentation, navigation, weather, terrain, traffic and engine data on large-format, high-resolution displays. It replaces the dual Garmin G600 suite currently on Seneca V’s. Garmin’s reliable GRS77 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) provides accurate, digital output and referencing of aircraft position, rate, vector and acceleration data.

About the Piper Seneca V
Standard equipped list price for the Piper Seneca V with three display Garmin G1000 avionics suite is $972,400. The airplane is powered by two Continental Turbocharged TSIO-360-RB engines generating 220 hp each. The configuration of multiple entry and baggage doors with the comfort of a cabin-class interior makes the Piper Seneca V the perfect business tool.

The three display G1000-equipped Seneca V includes Dual 10″ PFDs, Single 10″ MFD, Dual GIA63W NAV/COM/GPS, S-TEC 55X Autopilot with Altitude Preselect, Attitude and Heading Reference System, Air Data Computer (ADC), Dual IFR Enroute/Approach and WAAS Certified GPS, Electronic Engine Indication System (EIS), Garmin FliteCharts, SafeTaxi, GMA1347 Audio Panel, GTX 33 Mode S Transponder, Traffic Information Systems (TIS), and Aspen Standby System (EFD-100).

About Piper Aircraft

A host of benefits are incorporated in this latest version of the company’s very fast turboprop business aircraft

Pembroke Pines, Florida, February 25, 2013 – DAHER-SOCATA’s Model Year 2013 version of its TBM 850 Elite was unveiled last friday at Florida’s Boca Raton Airport for customers in the United States – which remains one of the primary markets for this very fast turboprop business aircraft.

Compared to last year’s model, a cockpit enhancement is the integration of L-3 Avionics’ Trilogy™ ESI-2000 Electronic Standby Instrument (ESI), which replaces the previous electro-mechanical instrument version. As the first solid-state integrated standby system specifically created for general aviation, the advanced solid-state Trilogy™ ESI-2000 has an internal battery and easy-to-read 4 X 3-inch active matrix liquid crystal display. “Based on the tremendous customer interest in the TBM 850 Elite – which debuted last year – we are continuing its production in 2013,” explained Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of DAHER-SOCATA’s Airplane Division and President of SOCATA North America. “For this year, we have made further improvements inside and out, along with enhancements to the aircraft’s comprehensive maintenance program.” The Model Year 2013 TBM 850′s Elite offering of interior colors has been extended with the choice of Moccha dark brown leather, as well as a medium grey, referred to as River Stone. In addition, the aircraft’s seat backs are now perforated to improve comfort on hot days.

DAHER-SOCATA also offers a special package for its Model Year 2013 that features a host of benefits such as a deluxe leather interior with a storage cabinet, wooden or carbon-fiber fittings and 14-Volt DC power plugs. This includes also DAHER-SOCATA’s Highly Extended Exclusive Maintenance Program, which lowers scheduled maintenance costs for five years or 1,000 hours. In 2013, this program is completed by the CAMP maintenance tracking system, which enables the owner to easily follow its maintenance.

Additional safety options in this year’s Elite package are a GPS-linked emergency locator transmitter, and a pulsed light system that alternately flashes the landing, taxi and recognition lights 45 times-per-minute to increase the aircraft’s visibility. DAHER-SOCATA developed the TBM 850 Elite to offer unique capability in tailoring the passenger cabin in meeting operators’ needs. Its middle seats can be oriented in a forward-facing position, while the rear seats are removable. In approximately 30 minutes, the TBM 850 can be reconfigured in a four-seat cabin, increasing the luggage volume capacity by three and doubling the maximum luggage weight. Primary technical changes in the TBM 850 Elite are the new intermediate seats, whose base is narrower; and a forward shift in positioning of the passenger oxygen system, which enables passengers to be assisted in both the cabin’s six- and fourseat configurations.

Popular options in this package include a full avionics suite with Garmin’s Synthetic Vision System dynamic terrain imaging, Chartview electronic chart database, and the GSR 56 Iridium satellite datalink transceiver for global connectivity – providing on-demand weather information, text/voice communications and near real-time position tracking.

DAHER-SOCATA’s TBM 850 is the world’s fastest single turboprop aircraft, with a maximum cruising speed of 320 KTAS at Flight Level 260 (in ISA conditions).

Washington, D.C. – DAHER-SOCATA announced on February 12, 2012, that 38 TBM 850s were delivered in 2012 – representing the fourth best year for the company’s TBM aircraft family since 1990, and underscoring the very fast turboprop’s continued value in an evolving global market.

The 2012 deliveries bring to 622 units the total number of aircraft received by customers, of which 298 are TBM 850 – the latest version of DAHERSOCATA’s very fast turboprop aircraft family.

According to General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) year-end shipment and billings figures – which were released today in Washington, D.C. – the 38 TBM 850 deliveries last year represented an 18 percent share
of its market segment. This reflects an increased market share when compared to the competitors.

The majority of TBM 850s purchased in 2012 were acquired by U.S. customers (66 percent). Canada ranked second, with 13 percent, followed by Brazil and Germany’s eight percent of the 2012 sales. One sale was achieved in the U.K. last year, where the market is showing signs of recovery, while Thailand joined the club of TBM countries with a contract for its first TBM 850 in June.

“The TBM 850 sales success confirms our very fast turboprop’s position as the keystone of DAHER-SOCATA’s strategy,” explained Stephane Mayer, Chairman and CEO of DAHER-SOCATA – the aerospace and defense activity of the DAHER Group. “This also supports our Group’s current strategy to invest in research and development to support our products and our long-term growth.”

Nicolas Chabbert, the Senior Vice President of DAHER-SOCATA’s Airplane Division, said the availability of its TBM 850 Elite version – which was certified in July – boosted sales during the second half of 2012. “Efficiency and value remain the competitive advantages of turboprop aircraft, as demonstrated by the TBM 850’s continued sales successes,” Chabbert added. “This explains the resilience of turboprop aircraft at a time when very light jets are competing in the marketplace.”

Building on its commercial momentum, DAHER-SOCATA is offering the Model Year 2013 TBM 850 “Elite” with a host of benefits, including the highly extended Exclusive Maintenance Program – which lowers scheduled maintenance costs for five years or 1,000 hours – and the GSR 56 Iridium based satellite telephone system.

DAHER-SOCATA’s TBM 850 is the world’s fastest single turboprop aircraft, with a maximum cruising speed of 320 KTAS at Flight Level 260 (in ISA conditions). It combines cruising speed and trip times of a light jet with the
economic direct operating costs, range and moderate environmental signature of a turboprop engine. The maximum range and useful load – which are enhanced on the current version – and the ability to land at small airports are some of its customers’ favorite features.

The worldwide TBM fleet – composed of the TBM 850 and its predecessor TBM 700 version – has surpassed the combined 1 million flight hour milestone. With more than 620 of these very fast turboprop business aircraft
produced to date, the overall fleet usage now averages in excess of 120,000 flight hours annually.

(Addison, Texas) The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) famous Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber, FIFI — the only remaining flying example of the aircraft in the world – will be the feature World War II airplane in an eleven stop tour starting February 22 at El Paso International Airport in Texas.
About the CAF’s B-29 Superfortress, FIFI:

The Boeing B-29 Superfortress, first flown in 1942 and began active service in 1944, is perhaps best known as the aircraft whose missions over Japan helped bring about the end of World War II. It was designed as a replacement for the older B-17s and B-24s, with longer range and greater bomb loads. The B-29 was also used in the Korean War in the early 1950s and was a staple of the U.S. Air Force until the late 1950s.

FIFI was acquired by the CAF in the early 1970s when a group of CAF members found her at the U.S. Navy Proving Ground at China Lake, California where she was being used as a missile target. The airplane was rescued and restored and flew for over thirty years until 2006 when the chief pilot made the decision to ground her pending a complete power plant re-fit. What followed was an extensive four year restoration that included replacing all four engines with new custom built hybrid engines. FIFI returned to the sky in 2010 and since that time has traveled coast to coast attracting large crowds at every tour stop. Learn more about FIFI and her tour schedule at www.cafb29b24.org <http://www.cafb29b24.org/> .

About the Commemorative Air Force:

The CAF is dedicated to Honoring American Military Aviation through flight, exhibition and remembrance. A non-profit educational association, the CAF has more than 8,000 members and a fleet of 153 airplanes distributed throughout the country to 70 units located in 27 states for care and operation.

Tarbes, France – DAHER-SOCATA announced on February 7, 2013, that the worldwide TBM 700 and TBM 850 fleet has surpassed the milestone of 1 million flight hours.

With more than 620 TBM very fast turboprop business aircraft produced to date, the overall fleet usage now averages in excess of 120,000 flight hours annually.

“Surpassing this milestone confirms the TBM 850 as the keystone of DAHER-SOCATA’s strategy,” said Stephane Mayer, Chairman and CEO of DAHER-SOCATA, the aerospace and defense activity of the DAHER Group. “This highlights the synergy between manufacturing and services that offers our customers high dispatch reliability, while also underscoring our excellent partnership with Pratt & Whitney Canada – which manufactures the TBM’s PT6A engine. With the first million flight hours now a reality, I look forward to the next million-hour achievement.”

Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the DAHER-SOCATA Airplane Division, added the 1 million flight hour achievement demonstrates that a manufacturer’s aircraft product line has come of age. “The extensive experience accumulated during 20 years of operations has proven the TBM’s airframe design and validated its reliability,” he explained. “Reaching this flight-hour achievement also highlights the efficiency of our service network, which can maintain TBM aircraft from the busiest airports in the U.S. to the Australian Outback.”

Chabbert said the TBM in-service experience provided the confidence for DAHER-SOCATA to offer extended warranties and its Exclusive Maintenance Program – which lowers scheduled maintenance costs for five years or 1,000 hours. “The tremendous track record accumulated by TBM customers and operators helped us improve the product, and we offer one of the most reliable airplanes in its category today,” he added.

To mark the 1 million flight hour milestone, Pratt & Whitney Canada presented DAHER-SOCATA CEO Stéphane Mayer with a commemorative plaque.

DAHER-SOCATA’s TBM 850 is the world’s fastest single turboprop aircraft, with a maximum cruising speed of 320 KTAS at Flight Level 260 (in ISA conditions).

As an 850-shp. version of DAHER-SOCATA’s TBM 700, the TBM 850 combines cruise speeds and trip times of a light jet with the economical direct operating costs, range and eco-friendly environmental signature of a turboprop-powered aircraft. The TBM 850’s maximum range and useful load – which are enhanced on the current version – and the ability to land at small airports are some of its customers’ favorite features.

PHOENIX, AZ — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) SA01705WI on December 20, 2012 to Cutter Aviation based at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) for the installation of a custom glass cockpit panel package powered by the Garmin G950 as a retrofit to older model Piper Meridian aircraft to replace the Meggitt or Avidyne EFIS systems as originally installed.

Combining and expanding on the technology found in the popular Garmin G1000 package, the Garmin G950 retrofit enables owners of older model Piper Meridian aircraft to upgrade the capabilities of their aircraft to the most modern standards to meet and exceed the newest requirements for NextGen airspace and WAAS while providing a greatly enhanced level of situational awareness and navigation flexibility. Cutter Aviation worked in direct partnership with Garmin to engineer and develop the G950 retrofit package on the Piper Meridian.

“We are very excited to now have full STC approval to begin installations of the Garmin G950 Retrofit Package for the Piper Meridian here at Cutter Aviation” said Will Cutter, President and CEO of Cutter Aviation. “Piper Meridian owners have been asking for a fully integrated avionics upgrade for their aircraft, and we are pleased to now offer them such a package. Throughout the evaluation and testing period, our test pilot team kept remarking how the G950 package even outperforms the G1000 system as installed on new Piper Meridians, so we are confident that owners will love what the Garmin G950 will do for their Meridian.”

Starting with a new, custom engineered panel and glareshield, the Garmin G950 STC package provides a much cleaner and more modern panel design than found on any existing Piper Meridian. The package features the large 12-inch Garmin GDU-1240A Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multi-Function Display (MFD) units configured as either a two-display (single PFD / single MFD) or three display (dual PFD/single MFD) package. The Garmin G950 installation completely replaces existing Attitude & Heading Reference Systems (AHRS) with dual Garmin GRS 77 AHRS units and also replaces the OEM Engine & Airframe Interface Unit (EAU) with a new Garmin GEA 71 EAU that fully integrates into the system. Additionally, the G950 system fully incorporates the existing S-TEC IntelliFlight / Magic 1500 autopilot into the Meridian package. Installed, the G950 modification provides a Model Year 2013 comparable instrument panel that is cleaner and more modern and provides significantly more glass surface area, safety features, and navigational tools than other pre-G1000 models in the Meridian fleet.

While Cutter Aviation is installing the G950 modification, Meridian owners may also opt to include the additional installation of the approved Gross Weight Kit, which adds over 242 lbs to the aircraft’s gross weight, bringing the finished aircraft to 2013 Model Year marketability levels. As an additional benefit, installation of this modification also includes a fresh annual.

Installations of the Garmin G950 Retrofit Package for the Piper Meridian are already commencing at the Cutter Aviation avionics facility at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in Phoenix, AZ. Installation positions are currently being booked for installations beginning in January, 2013. Completion time and pricing varies based upon the subject Meridian.
