2012 Ocean Air Summer Camp Program

It's hard to believe that summer is on the way, but the new 2012 Summer Camp Program for the Ocean Air Recreation Center is already available!. And while the camps include the standard fare for a recreation center (gymnastics, dance, sports), there are also some different offerings, such as Kids Cooking and Fundamentals of Electronic Circuit Design! You can download the Brochure and check out all the camps that will be available at the Ocean Air location. Program registration begins Monday, June 4, 2012 at 5:00 pm. See the program for complete program and registration information. It appears the registration is walk-in only, with no current option for online registration. The Ocean Air Recreation Center is located at 4770 Fairport Way, south of SR-56.

2012 Spring Egg Hunts in the Local Parks

The two local City Recreation Centers will hold their Spring Egg Hunts on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. The Carmel Valley Egg Hunt will be at the Recreation Center, located at 3777 Townsgate Dr. (Egg Hunt Times: 0-2 years at 9:30am; 3-4 years at 9:45am; 5-6 years at 10:00am; 7-8 years at 10:15am; and 9 years & up at 10:30am). The Ocean Air Egg Hunt will be held at Torrey Hills Park, located at 4262 Calle Mejillones (Egg Hunt Times: 0-2 years at 9:30am; 3-5 years at 9:40am; 6-8 years at 9:50am; and 9 years & up at 10:00am). For both events, be sure to arrive on time and bring your own basket and camera!

Ocean Air Pancake Breakfast, Food & Toy Drive

The Ocean Air Recreation Center is holding its 2nd annual Toy / Food Drive & Pancake Breakfast at the Ocean Air Recreation Center on Saturday, December 3rd From 8:30am -10:30am. The Ocean Air Recreation Council invites you to a "Morning of Giving" to help support San Diego Toys for Tots and the San Diego Food Bank. Tickets are $5.00, but you can bring an unwrapped toy or non-perishable food between 11/10/11 and 12/3/11 and receive 4 free tickets to the pancake breakfast. The event includes arts & crafts, face painting, music, fun & games and a visit from Santa. For info, call 858-552-1687.

Ocean Air Movie in the Park, July 29, 2011

Looking for a fun, free family activity in your neighborhood? Ocean Air Community Park will host a Summer Movies In the Park 2011 event on Friday, July 29, 2011, showing the movie "Despicable Me" (rated PG.) This is a perfect chance to relax and enjoy a safe and special night under the stars. Come early and get a good seat! Ocean Air Community Park is located at 4470 Fairport Way, and the movie will begin at Dusk. Summer Park Concerts, July 2011

The Annual Summer Serenades concerts in the parks start this Sunday, July 10 at 5:00 PM at Solana Highlands Park. Bring a blanket or low beach chair and enjoy an evening of wonderful music in the park! This is a great place to picnic, visit with neighbors, dance with your kids, or just enjoy the music. It’s entertainment for the whole family. The complete schedule includes:

July 10 at Solana Highlands Park: Atomic Groove.
July 17 at Ashley Falls Park: The Corvettes.
July 24 at Solana Highlands Park: Upstream.
July 31 at Ashley Falls Park: Eve Selis.
