This movie has many stars in it such as Michael Caine, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johansson, and David Bowie.

The story revolves around two magicians Robert Angier; Jackman, and Alfred Borden; Bale, who have a professional rivalry tinged with personal vendettas. The movie was okay, but I felt like I was watching the Terminator and neither would ever die.

The payback and one “up-man-ship” got to the point of ridiculous. I also felt it was predicable.

I thought “The Illusionist” with Edward Norton was much better.

His best friend Pete played by Chris Marquette of “Strong Medicine” and “Joan of Arcadia” is one of those friends who involves Nick in his self made disasters. The movie develops as Pete accuses Nick of reporting a crime in order to get himself out of a mess. Annie played by Margarita Levieva, is a bad apple, trying to prove her toughness to the gang. She is involved with an ex-con played by Alex O’Loughlin of “Moonlight”. Annie has Nick beaten and left for dead in retaliation for reporting her, but it’s all a mistake.

Nick then walks around in a limbo trying to connect with those who were closest to him. You end up not knowing who you feel worse for Nick or Annie. My teenagers really like this movie, and I enjoyed it.

She has been sheltered and focused most of her life and is charmed by Lloyd. Lloyd has some crazy friends, one of the best is played by Lili Taylor. She’s worth watching the film on her own.

This is such a feel good, cute relationship movie.

Two other favorites of mine that have John Cusack are “Must Love Dogs”  and “Serendipity”.

300 was a different kind of movie for me. It’s one that under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have watched. I didn’t know any of the actors in the movie and if I did the make-up covered up their person.

The story is about the Battle of Thermopylae, with the Greeks fighting the Persians. Because the king is forbidden by a law to take his army, he takes only 300 of his best warriors to fight the thousands of invading Persians. The battles are bloody and brutal; especially with the graphics added.

Not memorable for the scenes or music and there are some pretty strong sex scenes.

I think anyone who likes war/battle movies would like this. It was fair and I finished the movie, but too off main stream for me.

Very cute movie about a gorgeous girl, Alison Scott; Katherine Heigl, who while celebrating her promotion gets smashed and sleeps with an unlikely guy, Ben Stone, Seth Rogen.

They both realize it was a mistake and go their own way. Later when she finds out that she is pregnant they try to form a relationship for the baby. The couple has to deal with family and friends as well as personal differences.

This movie has some great comic parts. It has very adult language and scenes.

he atypical love story of a woman played by Janeane Garofalo, Abby, who is a veterinarian that has a radio talk show. A listener; Brian played by Ben Chaplin, decides he wants to get to know her after receiving good advice from her.

She has such bad self concept that she uses a model looking neighbor Noelle, Uma Thurman, to meet Brian for her. Brian likes the way Noelle looks but he can’t reconcile Noelle’s personality to what he knows about Abby.

The two women become friends and then try to let Brian know about the deception.

The movie was a cute Romantic Comedy, but a bit drawn out. I enjoyed Abby’s character, but couldn’t find Noelle likable.
