In the US, programming is very expensive and time consuming that is why in US companies outsource the task whether in India or in the Philippines. Philippines is really the best place for Outsourcing. Philippines can provide clients and excellent workforce, knowledge, experienced, talented and English-speaking individuals.

There are too many IT Companies have put up IT Centers in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Baguio and Leyte. The likes are Accenture, Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, Oracle are just few of those who have seen the great potential of IT industry in the Philippines.

There are also local companies who are engage in IT Outsourcing like website development and management, database management, offshore programming, network infrastructure and support and software development to name a few. IT in the Philippines continues to compete with the other countries to provide a new level of support and solutions to make client operations faster and cost-effective.

Coral World Park: The Biggest in the World

The topic has brought during a conversation with my friend who is an Architect. It is all about the Coral World Park which will be the biggest underwater development in the world to be built in Palawan.

It made me interested as I raised questions like who is the developer and the architect of the project. So, he answered me that behind of this prestigious development is Paul Monozca, a Singapore-based businessman and the renowned architect, Jose “Pinggoy” Manosa who was behind some of the projects like San Miguel building and Brent International School.
When I got home, I still want to know more about of this project so I can tell my friends what’s going on with our environment especially in good news and in this case, this is going be another big thing for us Filipinos to be proud of.

As I’ve read an article, the billion peso project will have 50-bedroom onland boutique hotel and amenities like spa, casino, business center and an underwater restaurant named “Starfish” which can have 200 people dine at with its 600-square-meter dining place. The marine observatory called “Seahorse Science Center” will be built for tourist to showcase the abundance of the marine life in the Philippines.
The Coral World Park will also have 24 undersea suites called “Anemones” which is sank 60-feet below sea level with a spectacular 270-degree view of the sea. At reasonable price, several of these “Anemones” will be open for public viewing where made me feel exhilarated as I can’t wait to witness another masterpiece made by a Filipino.

I believe that this is another good business which will help raise the Philippine economy up as 80% of the team from the management to the ground crews are Filipinos and will give thousands of jobs to the resident of Palawan and neighboring provinces. So let’s us all support this futuristic project, the Coral World Park.

It's More Fun in the Philippines

The title mentioned above is the newest Philippine Tourism slogan which was unveiled by the Department of Tourism this January 2012.

The first thing that comes to my mind is question WHY? Why 'It's More Fun'?

Let's start with our beautiful spots like Boracay. Boracay is one of the coolest beaches and places in the world like no other. When the summers sets, you should never be missed Boracay. Tourists from around the world would love to experience and see the beautiful island. Another is the Puerto Princesa Underground River which has been awarded as one of the New & Wonders of World just this January 28, 2011. We can also add Pagudpud Beach in Ilocos Norte. We are also proud of our Puerto Galera that can be found in Oriental Mindoro. And there's more cool beaches that surrounds Palawan, Cebu and Bohol, Subic, and Batangas.

To complete the fun we can also add to our list the historical Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao, bird's eye view of Taal Volcano and Lake in Tagaytay, Chocolate Hills in Bohol, wake boarding area in Camarines Sur, water sports adventure in Siargao, Pagsanjan Falls in Laguna, Tubbataha Reef in Sulu Sea, Mayon Volcano in Albay. Where else would you want to go?

Entertainment. We all know that we are naturally talented. We've got a lot of very good singers and performers. If you are not aware of it you got to find it out. Also, if you want something on the beat, you may join our fiestas and festivals around. The likes are Sinulog in Cebu, Dinagyang in Ilo-Ilo, Pahiyas Festival in Quezon Province, Maskara Festival in Bacolod City, Moriones Festival in the island of Marinduque, Panagbenga or Flower Festival in Baguio, Higantes in Angono and more.

When it comes to Filipino traits, tourists and people love the attitude of most Filipinos as our country is naturally hospitable and friendly people. Also, we find ourselves as easy going people and always & still happy even if we experience different kinds of problems. Another is Filipinos are really polite especially to the elderly. This really defines us so I believe every Filipino from around the world is really proud of our country.

Puerto Princesa Underground River Wins New 7 Wonders

We Filipinos are really proud of our own Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) as it is already official where it has named as one of the world's New 7 Wonders of Nature which was announced by New Seven Wonders of Nature Foundation in Zurich, Switzerland last January 28, 2012.

We thank you for all those Filipinos from around the world who did support via online and SMS voting. This spot battle won together with South Korea's Jeju Island, the Amazon in South America, Halong Bay in Vietanam, Igazu Falls which can be found between Argentina and Brazil, the famous Komodo in Indonesia and Table Mountain in South Africa.

Based on the latest report, tourists in the Philippines have grown and there are a lot of tourists visiting Puerto Princesa Underground River. For those who haven't been there yet. I'll show you some photographs taken in PPUR.

As you can see, it's not just a underground river but it filled with very crystal clear water, preserve environment, and the very long river passing through the cave and in fact it is 8.2 kilometer that flows through the cave before it flows out to the West Philippine Sea. The cave also is a live cave. You can see different creatures, limestone karst mountain landscape, the formation of stalagmites and stalactites, history engraved and many more.

So enjoy your trip in Puerto Princesa Underground River because It's More Fun in the Philippines!

Producers are Afraid to Invest on Action Films

Everytime I watch Hollywood movies particularly on action films, I always ask the question why Philippine film producers can’t invest on well-animated and quality action films. Even just the yearly Metro Manila Film Festival where the real battle of film entries should take place but the movies you can only watch are films that can only make the audience either laugh or scared but nothing really happens. What can you expect at the International Film Fests, are you expecting an award from Oscars?

Because I’m a Filipino, I always watch some of the MMFF entries but in my yearts of supporting Philippines movies, I haven’t watched movies that make me say wow except independent films. Unlike most of the Hollywood motion pictures, I can always say they’re cool from the story actors, cinematography, animation etc.

Hollywood movie producers like Universal Studios, The Walt Disney, 20^th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures are some of the top companies that are making big bucks in producing fantastic action and adventurous films. Like for example the film Star Wars in courtesy of 20^th Century Fox, the film grossed over $4.41 billion making it the third highest grossing film series in the history. When can this be happened to the Philippines?

However, in order for us to really find out the answer to this topic, I made seme research and study. Statements below are only based on my research and views from the contributors who gave their opinion as well.

1. Producers are afraid to invest hundred million dollars from high-end quality equipment, actors, writers, directors, art and the whole production cost.

2. They don’t see the film market of quality action films in the Philippines.

3. Producers may consider the colonial mentality of most Filipinos hinders to patronize locally made motion pictures.

4. Piracy continues to spread throughout the country.

5. Some Filipinos are contented with mediocrity.

Is There Any Hope for OPM?

OPM or Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit is an associateion of Filipino singers and artists that envisions to promoting its own Filipino made music. Almost everone in the organization is sad of the current state of the Philippines music industry. And there was a recent news about an artist expressed her regrets when she was asked the standing of OPM.

I am actually a fan of OPM but honestly, I enjoy more on singing and listening to foreign music whether Hollywood songs or K-Pop genre and it is not a surprise to the music group that everyone is fond of foreign music. This is because people were able to capture the taste of modern music genre from foreign performers. Look at K-Pop music, even if you don’t understand the lyrics of a song you enjoyed it because the beat goes together with its generation. Another thing, many people today like to listen RnB songs wherever I go because they feel that the music genre is for them. Mariah Carey has seen this demand. Basically, she is a former pop singer and she has the demographic market of 80s to early 2000s. But due to that the demand has changed, she has evolved to become an RnB singer. The best thing happened to her is all her singles placed on the top spot on record bards, music charts, radio stations and concerts. I hope our music industry has seen this as well.

I hope you readers did get my point stated above. However, let us still enumerate some reasons why OPM is not moving anymore.

1. We already have a lot of good singers from different genres of pop, hip-hop, rap, rock and RnB artists but not total performers.

2. If we have total performers, music companies do not really invest high quality music production.

3. OPM doesn’t want to reinvent the line of Philippine music scene.

4. Lack of faith to change Filipino attitude towards our local music and afraid of progress.

Puerto Princesa's Underground River

There is an ongoing competition on the 7 Wonders of Nature which is organized by Bernard Weber, President & Founder of New7Wonders. We , Filipinos are very proud and thankful that we have the underground river located in Puerto Princesa as one of the top ten finalists which the winners will be announced on November 11, 2011. If our entry will win, this will be another big thing to showcase how beautiful is the Philippines and it adds value in attracting more tourist to our country.

The Underground River is located in Subterranean River National Park 50km north from the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a spectacular or karst landscape as you pass by the river under the beautiful cave. This underground river is 8.2 km long and one of the longest underground rivers in the world. The place is also significant habitat for biodiversity conservation that is why this renowned hot spot is preserved.

Can Apple Stand Without Steve Jobs?

Based on the news reported last week, how apple is going to face the reality that they lost a very brilliant property.

This is really a big challenge to Apple as many technology companies are really trying to beat Apple. For example, Android is already a powerful and user friendly operating system that can run more than 200,000 apps that is why many gadget providers have acquired Android OS to capture Apple’s crown.

In a recent launch held by Apple in California, Apple fans, users, bloggers and other groups were disappointed during the launch of iPhone 4s as they were expecting iPhone 5, a cooler gadget than its existing iPhone 4, Android Phones and Windows Phone 7. This is actually one of the reasons why rumors have spread.

With Apple’s current condition, it is possible that they will step down from where they are. One is the disappointment tackled on the previous paragraph. Second, I believe that there are still remaining secrets of the late Steve which haven’t revealed when he was still alive. Intellectual property is very important especially if from the start of the business to where is it right now, you started to lay the foundation, did a very wide research and study as well as the years of experience and learnings which would gone away in just a snap.

We may be able to find this out in a few years later.

Will Twitter Defeat Facebook?

As we know Twitter was designed as a social networking site and a microblogging platform. Currently, it has approximately 200M account users compared to Facebook which has and still, the no.1 networking site with an estimated account users of 700M. Today, social networking slaves are looking for much interactive social community and I only see that on Twitter as of the moment. But, do you think Twitter would be able to defeat Facebook?

Actually, Twitter has clearly identified its target market. Their main goal is to get celebrities, industry experts and those people who want to follow their interest to use the platform. The rest is for people who want to show their feelings to the world. Just like me, I have a twitter account because I am always confident what I wanted to say on this social media giant rather than on Facebook. It means to say the two social media giants are far away different.

With Twitter, you are always updated with the trending topics because you can get direct updates from your following like celebrities, journalists, news providers, business people, etc. However, if you are not facing in front of your pc, do not have Twitter app either on your phone or tablet, you will miss what’s happening around as the archive on Twitter is fast especially if you have a lot of following.

The possibility of Twitter to defeat Facebook is really close because people nowadays need a more interactive social networking platform. Another thing is, we expect that today’s mobile phones with OS will be affordable by masses in the very near future. Lastly, with my experience the site is simple and the loading is fast than other sites taking a while because of heavy html or javascript content.

I am not encouraging anyone to use Twitter, what would make you feel happy, just go with it :D.

Tribute to Steve Jobs (1955-2011)

It was confirmed that the inventor and CEO of Apple, Inc. Steve Jobs has passed away in a statement released by Apple without telling the cause of death of the genius.

I think my idol happily died at the age of 56. He was such an inspiration to everyone from inventors, developers, businessmen, apple product users and to everyone who knows him. All I can say is let’s pay tribute to his extraordinary contributions from personal computer, iPod, iPhone, iPad etc. that people are enjoying the masterfully inventions of Steve Jobs.

Actually, without the Macintosh inventor there was no Apple. If Michael Dell had acquired Apple, Inc. he would have shut the company down. But still employees were very thankful to Steve Jobs as he kept on persisting not to lose the company. If Apple was sold to other companies, it won’t be the “Most Valuable Company in the World”.

I know Apple and people from various sectors are really reminiscing his great contributions to the world and I think it is right to declare Steve Jobs Day as a worldwide holiday. Would you my valued readers agree with me? For me he was a hero and a gift to everyone. If I were the Governor of California, I would establish a Steve Jobs Monument and Park.

In conclusion, the visionary Steve Jobs’s death should be celebrated.

Friendster Falls into Social Gaming

In the midst of 2000s, Friendster has dominated te social network market together with its rivalry which is Myspace. Friendster was then no.1 in Asia which has the biggest market share compared to the US, Europe and Australia.

In 2008, Friendster had faced its biggest competitor Facebook which has the fastest growing network until Friendster loose its crown during that time. Also, a big percentage of Friendster users have shifted to the growing network of Facebook community. That is why, Friendster made a total reformation to bring the former account users back since it was already acquired by MOL Global.

A news released by Yahoo! About Friendster requesting account holders to retrieve the files from pictures, wall post and messages as they have an ongoing website redevelopment that would get their crown back from Facebook. Some Friendster users retrieved their files but then, the question was what would be the recent development they are up to? Is it more interactive than Facebook or Twitter?

It was a very trending topic in town expecially with the social network slaves. But after few months of waiting, the result is social gaming.

In my opinion, the management might have had a very long talk regarding on the development they wanted to happen because their target to relaunch the website was supposedly on the last week of May but they made it late. Another thing, they opt to change social networking to social gaming because they were able to see the market of online gamers, Facebook players like Plants ‘vs’ Zombies, Farmville, Cityville, Empire and Allies and the very successful Angry Birds has a movie already. Well, I think this will a good restart for them as they currently have 8.2 million users but the question remains, would social gaming enough to defeat the social media giants?

Facebook Changes Settings

Everyone has noticed the big changes made on Facebook. Unfortunately, most of the Facebook users hate the new settings because because the old one is much user-friendly. Many users have discovered on how to return back the previous settings. They went to ‘Account Settings’ clicked the ‘Language’ and chose ‘UK’ and you’ll have your old settings back. But do you think this would be the end? Do you think they won’t re-alter on it?

All of these came into my mind when I opened my account before the refashion happened. As I was browsing my account, checking some notifications, reading wall posts & comments still I feel the boredom because nothing new happened and I am the person who always wanted something different. I tweeted my feelings it on the same day but after the day, the site has already a new look.

Actually, the answer to this question is as simple as changes are part of Mark Zuckerberg’s strategy. Facebook is global brand of social networking site and a product will not be a brand without consistent promotion and innovation. So, brand needs changes and it has to surpass creativity to prolong the lifespan of the brand. To be exact, I’ve read an article on Yahoo.com where the Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg talked about on the changes that will happen to Facebook and more things to come. This article was actually published when Google plus was released on the worldwide web.

Just to support the paragraph above, remember that Facebook has also partnered with Skype to provide video calling when Google + was already out.

In conclusion, if users can’t adapt the changes, that is the owner’s job already and it is always important to satisfy your customers.

Marblo Philippines

In the latter part of 2010, there was a brand from was introduced to our group and I took part mainly on marketing and sales.

To give you a brief background, Marblo is a design material made from polymer and hybrid resins. I actually made a product study and research since it has a lot of series and there are hundreds of product codes. The materials are also new to the Philippines that is why I was really excited to promote the products.

When it comes to an Australian brand, I have no doubt with its quality. One of the things I like about the material is that you can backlight those translucent materials and what can I say, it really stands out! There are a lot of ranges fromn opal, frost, pearl, storm,bedrock and sediment series where you can play with the light.

During my study, I’ve also learned that the producthas 2-4 hours fire rating capability and can provide more than 6,000 colours. Because the product contains resin materials, it can be bent and can be customized according to your requirement. Most Australians preferred the brand because it is anti-bacterial which is recommended on kitchen, counter and laboratory applications.

In every presentation that I’ve had, most of the interior designers and architects say wow to the product because it’s new to them. This also made the team to get good projects like at F1 City Center, a five star condotel at Bonifacio Global City. The architect for this is Julia Sandra Uy of Uo2 Architects. She used Marblo for indoor bar counter, portal area, buffet counter and elevator lobby which you can find at the 5^th floor of the building.

Another is the bar counter of e-Games at the Southgate mall. I introduce Marblo to Mel Reyes, interior designer head of Casas Architects. We then co-created to use the combination of dark oak and hurricane and the result is really stunning.
