Produced by Oprah Winfrey, this lush, yet earthy telefilm was adapted from the 1937 novel by Zora Neale Hurston. Set in rural Florida, the story begins several years after emancipation. Janie (a soulful Halle Berry) is a dreamy-eyed teenager, who never knew her parents. She was raised by the bitter Nanny (Ruby Dee), an ex-slave, who marries her off to an older man the minute she gets the chance. Mr. Killicks works Janie like a dog, but leaves her alone otherwise (he's abusive in the book). Then Janie meets the courtly Joe (Ruben Santiago-Hudson), who whisks her away from the muck to the black township of Eatonville. The two proceed to transform the town from a patch of dirt into a real community. Along the way, Joe becomes mayor and Janie a mere helpmate. Except for her friend Phoeby (Nicki Micheaux), the townspeople confuse her sadness for conceit and she ends up lonelier than ever. Twenty years later, Joe dies and Janie takes up with the younger Tea Cake (Michael Ealy). Much like the other literary adaptations with which she's been associated (The Color Purple etc.), this Oprah production boasts an impressive line-up of African-American talent, including Terrence Howard as the covetous Amos. A mostly successful mix between suds and substance, Their Eyes Were Watching God which premiered on ABC, was directed by Darnell Martin, co-written by Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan Lori-Parks, and graced with a classy score by frequent Spike Lee collaborator Terence Blanchard.

This horror short film is a throwback to the 70's grind house films and it's about a killer targeting women on an escort service web site called Tasty Chicks. A detective is tracking the killer and trying to protect the women from the site before another girl ends up dead. Here is another teaser trailer for the feature horror film I'm in for "Sins of the Father". This is the prequel to the hit feature film "The Bailey Case".

THE STORY.......Set in the 80's during the height of the mysterious killing spree, local detective Caleb Granger and his partner Detective Tim Raines are on the scene looking for clues into so many children being poisoned. Also many men have been stabbed in the chest and left for dead on the side of roads. During this time Bevelyn Granger, Caleb Granger's wife, is expecting their first child. With her friends Jenny Chambers and Dr. Michelle Morrison looking after Bevelyn, Caleb and Tim set out to find out who is killing all these men and children and put a stop to it. Who Caleb finds reasonable will change his life and the life of his unborn child forever.

THE STORY.........6 months have passed since the Bailey House incident. Officer Javier McBane is searching for clues as to what happened to his sister and what happened in the Bailey House. Along with his partner Officer Rebecca North whose brother also vanished at a police station where one of the survivors was held they find their way at an asylum where Calvin Granger is staying. The asylum is empty and no one can be found. Have the events of the Bailey House found their way to this asylum?

They start by abducting young men and women and torture them for their own amusement. The victims will be treated to the most vial and heinous ways you can ever imagine. Some of them they will keep and force them to join their army, but most will all die a slow and horrible death. Watch a video diary of a madman where you will not only hear about these vicious crimes, you will actually watch them as they happen!

"Hells Little Angels" feature grindhouse film gets it's window of opportunity!!!

Yes that's correct, the feature grindhouse film "Hells Little Angels" finally gets its day in the sun to start on some filming. They are shooting parts of the film to begin with and come summer/fall 2013 they will begin to shoot the main part of the feature film at that time. As for now, they are just getting their feet wet and are really doing very well so far. There is still lots more to go so become a fan of their facebook fanpage and hit the LIKE button to keep up to date on all things happening for their film.

The film is Written, Directed & Produced by Cyndi Crotts and Co-Directed by Johnna Troxell. Cyndi Crotts will also star in this film along side Nicole Kruex, Michelle Shields, Joel Wynkoop & Fran Rafferty. 48 HOUR VIDEO MUSIC PROJECT

Short indie film "DOUBT" looking for cast & funds

Heather Walker is working on a short film for her last semester in film school. The end of March will mark two years that she has been in the film industry and she feels it's time for her to have something amazing to show for it. This will be a 10 minute short that she has written and will also direct as well. Principal photography starts March 2nd & 3rd 2013.

ABOUT THE FILM

The story takes place at the beginning of WWII. A young American woman and her half Japanese husband are practically newlyweds and very much in love. She is outraged at how people like her husband are being singled out as evil doers that threaten the American way. While she knows her husband would never be capable of such horrors she can't help but give it a second thought when bombarded with propaganda on every street corner and on every television.

FUNDS FOR THE FILM

Any good production needs money, so here is what she is looking to raise for her film......$1000 to $1500 on top of what she is already putting in.

BREAKDOWN OF THE FUNDS RAISED & WHAT IT WILL GO TO

1. People need to eat.- This will be a two day shoot with actors and crew totaling about 30 people. The crew, especially, will need to meet earlier than everyone else to set up which means CAFFEINE! Coffee all around and something to munch on. Just breakfast isn't enough to hold anyone over for an 8 hour work day let alone a 10 hour one. Lunch as well as snacks will need to be provided. I don't need people passing out on me because of low blood sugar.

2. This is a period piece, meaning it's not set in the present day. I don't know about you, but I don't have a bunch of clothes from the 1940s hanging in my closet. This is where is starts getting expensive. In one of my scenes I have men in the armed forces which will require WWII military uniforms. These are $75 a piece and I will need 5 of them. Total that up and we get $425. That's not even for a lead role.

3. Props/Set dressing- More things I don't have lying around my apartment is a TV, couch, radio or, lets be honest, anything from the 1940s. I will need to rent these items from a prop house. This is where the money really starts piling on. Not only is it expensive to rent said items from a prop house, but I will need to transport them, which means renting a U-haul to do so. The cost of the truck plus mileage and gas and we've pretty much spent the entire budget.

4. Travel - remember how I said I've been working in the industry for almost 2 years now? Well most of that has been for free. So lucky me, I get to call all of those people back and have them come work for me for the same price. Crew and equipment will be (mostly) free. However, the locations we are shooting at are a good ways from people's homes. I think it's only fair that they as well as the actors get reimbursed for their travel to come work for me for free.

5. Last, but certainly not least is make-up. You want everyone to look good for their close up now don't you? Even if I could get a make up person to labor both days away for free I would still need to pay for the make-up they used. No getting around it.

HUNTER is a slasher-horror film made by horror fans, for horror fans. Someone, wearing the mask of a convict, is savagely murdering people of this small college town. The convict is Hunter Westbrook, a man wrongfully accused of murdering four girls seventeen years prior. The staff at the local university and sheriff’s station appear to know more than they're revealing, leaving the students to wonder if they’re, in fact, next. The five friends decide to take it upon themselves to investigate the killings and discover the truth before they themselves, fall victim to HUNTER!!!
