GE 13 - Finally over

I stayed up till around 1am last night to watch the results of our General Election 13. This was not the first year I did so, since I've always keeping an eye of the result with my late dad when he was around. This year, it's just get more exciting! LOL!

Yesterday, together with my brothers, we went casting our votes as early as 9am, and we queued for almost 2 hours due to the un-organised arrangement. There were no signs of where the 15 salurans were, and we were not told which queue led to which saluran. We were all playing 'guessing' and 'asking' game to find the right queue. I almost end up queuing wrongly!! *horror, as my little princess was left 'outside' the school with my uncle as he was not voting, and I asked him to help babysit princess* Imagine I was at the wrong queue and the whole process may take up more than 2 hours! Comparing to last election in 2008, I only need 20 minutes to complete the process.

A good thing was I met a few of my classmates, and we were all not first time voters! We were all commenting of the turnout, and was so encouraged by it since now more Malaysians know their responsibilities and right!

After voting, we just went for a quick lunch, and back home to rest and catch some sleep before the event of the night. I was so tired now, as I did not have a good sleep on Saturday night, as I was out in the final ceramah in my area, and last night was another late night. *yawn*

Then with the selective announcement, I kept myself awake to watch the live announcement, until the result of 112 was achieved, and I off the TV and head to bed! That was already about 1am! I salute those who stayed up witnessing the denial of 2/3 majority of the current administrator.

I'm tired... and was hoping an announcement for a holiday this morning but to no avail. Good thing was the traffic was good, and I guess it's another 5 years of wait before the next one...

Calling Emergency 112

Reminder: Calling emergency from your mobile is 112 and NOT 999 or 994..

Few months back, I saw a guy lying on the roadside when I traveled to work. People are surrounding him, however there was no sign of any emergency rescue / ambulans / police. Usually that road, we have those sneaky traffic polices who try to 'catch' those violating the emergency lane but that day no sign of them. Traffic was bad due to those 'stop, look, go' people, and it slowed down the whole traffic pace. When I approach the scene, then I saw this man lying there motionless. I dialed 112 from my mobile just to make sure that someone has make a report on this, and rescue is on the way.

I find that our emergency team was quite responsive from that experience. At least, the hospital called, the highway personnel returned call, and the Sarjan incharge also gave me a call to understand further. I can't give much detail as I'm not the witness, however I'm glad I alerted the emergency team.

This morning, something more horrible that I saw. This Malay lady in tudung lying on the emergency lane with blood covering her face. YES, that's obvious even I did not stop my car to help. Right after I passed the scene, I dialed 112 again.. I just want to know since the lady was bleeding, was help on his way.. and glad to hear from the hospital officer, that the ambulance already on their way.

It's so far a good experience calling the emergency, and I really hope that no one play prank on this number to avoid losing any life and disrupt the service.

May our emergency service continue to grow.

New Ride - The Waves

Besides going Genting to support the Youth last week, we were also introduced to the latest ride in Genting Outdoor Theme Park! It looks fun, and exciting.. but yours truly chicken out during the ride!! No no... Princess is not up to the height, so we gonna let it missed... hahaha...

When it first started, it was not as exciting as it looks, and everyone was like.. hah? this is the ride.. not until I took the video.... go enjoy and figure out how were the people riding in it feel... hahaha..

We watched this performance for 3 times, and gladly it's all well and nice performed!!

Still in Genting - Food

We had the chance to feast while in Genting last week. Here, I'm not posting any pictures of the photos as I guess you can view it from many bloggers' blog on what we had. I'm going to give my humble opinions on each outlets that we have enjoyed eating that 2 days 1 night trip!

We had lunch at Happy Valley Seafood Restaurant ● Lobby Floor, Theme Park Hotel and was served up to 6 to 7 dishes with soup too! We were late for lunch that day, but we still get to enjoy what was served in a very prompt service standards. We were not held up for any 'request' by the us from the waiter / waitress. This is the 3rd time me eating at Happy Valley, and so far it does not disappoint me. Since we did not paid for the food, I won't know the price that day but so far from previous experiences, it's still reasonable given it's in Genting!

Then later that night, we were having some Thai Theme Buffet! Oh goodness, we have the Thai papaya salad, Thai curry, Thai fried rice and Thai dessert!! On top of that, we still get to savor local Chinese, Japanese, Western, Western Asia, etc!! Fresh cut salmons were served too! We got to eat nice cakes and pastries, plus ice cream in a cold weather!!! How does that sound? Oh ya, we walked out of the restaurant with tummy full of food in Coffee Terrace ● Lobby Floor, Genting Grand

The next morning, since we all stayed in First World Hotel, it is obvious that we will eat there right. Breakfast selection is good I would say, nothing to shout about but it's sufficient to make everyone a full tummy! The varieties of breads, cereals, omelet, and local fried rice and CCF are served. I am just tad disappointed for not having kaya with butter in the bread counter!! hehehe...

After all the first 3 feasting, it will bring us to our last lunch together in the trip. This time round, my 'dream' was fulfilled, as I always wanted to eat here coz they serve buffet and also the 'kampung' style. They have all the ulams lay out for my choice, and also having additional little of Western, Chinese! I love the kampung style fried fish and fried chicken and not to be left out the nice aroma of TEH TARIK!! This is a must when you feast here!!! We left Genting with a full tummy and enjoyed another round of performance before we called it a day on the 2nd day.

Genting Trip - 1st day 1st half

Courtesy from Nuffnang, I'm up to Genting over the weekend last week to spend some quality time with my girl, and to get more info so I can do blog post!!! OMG, I'm lacking up and must buckle up! So, I'm going to split this trip into a few portion, as I don't know how to start! We got so many events up there, and I really need to split them before it get overwhelmed here!

First, Let me share with you the programme, and the main reason I'm there.

This was the main reason, and if you remembered, I did blogged about it earlier and wanted your support for the youth. I rather they do graffiti, and not vandalism! Our program that for the 2 days were packed, and below was the schedule!

I decided to drive up, and we arrived at 9.30am while waiting for the rest that took the Official transport (BUS). I had my cuppa of SB (which was no way near the one I used to have) and let Princess hang out a while before they arrived.

Once everyone gathered, we marched to the outdoor theme park for the followings:-

I've change the comment section since now I started to move from Google Reader to NuffnangX as then I can make more communication with all of you.

I guess after finding a way to replace my Google Reader, I guess NuffnangX is the much easier one.. I must keep reminding myself to log in NN instead of Reader! And I think due to the 'retirement' Google tab also remove the Reader from it so I won't be able to get to it that easy anymore.. Basically when I now change to the conversation format, I lost the 'view' of my previous comments, but they are all safely kept in emails and in the dashboard of my blogger. Guess for once, we need to change to get better ya..

Cow's Milk Protein Allergy

I was at a health talk recently, and to be educated about Cow's Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) in our children. Before I continue, I must say I'm strongly suggesting mummies to breastfeed your child, however under certain circumstances, perhaps if you are considering giving cow's milk, then be aware of these symptoms.

A recent revision of allergy terms, endorsed by the World Allergy Organization, defines any adverse reactions to milk as milk hypersensitivity and it can be divided into CMPA and lactose intolerance. These 2 conditions are different - LACTOSE intolerance is simply the inability to digest lactose caused by a deficiency in the enzyme lactase, whereas CMPA is defined as a hypersensitive allergic reaction towards cow's milk protein" explained Dr Amir Hamzah, President of MSAI.

Our host that night was Shazmin, and Dr Chai Pei Fan. Here is the description of Dr Chai for reference. In addition, we were given some info with regards to CMPA, and also tasted the different kind of formula that use to prevent and cure CMPA.

Here are the 3 types of formula provided for testing that day. As I'm allergic to the 'colour' of MILK, therefore, I only had a small sip. The taste of the milk are different, and tasted bitter. Dr Chai explained that a newborn / babies will not be able to differentiate 'bitterness' and they will get used to the milk easily. However, should a child only started the formula in later stage (that's if the baby is breastfeed during the early months), then they might not like it, therefore can substitute with Soy.

We were also briefed on managing CMPA, a guidelines in 2012 for our knowledge. The most important factor in the management of CMPA is eliminating cow's milk protein from the child's diet. A substitute formula may not be necessary for infants who are breastfed and children above the age of 2 years. Instead continuation of breastfeeding with maternal elimination of cow's milk protein is recommended.

I posted a question to Dr Chai, and asked how do we know if a child is CMPA and not others, as the symptoms of CMPA is 'common' and the advise is that to bring the child to the specialist!!! I guess it's not easy to identify if a child is CMPA by just a common look.

Now if you asked what are the common symptoms of CMPA, i.e. Skin (dry skin, rash, skin itch, swelling of lips and eyes AND / OR Intestine (diarrhea, vomiting, colic, bloody stools).

Now, some children with CMPA may also react to soy, goats or even sheep milk as we are talking about milk protein here. In addition, as mentioned by Dr Chai, CMPA child will also not able to take food made from milk, i.e yogurt, cheese and etc.

We were treated to a buffet line of great food that night, and below, for my closing, I share with you the happy smile of the night while enjoying her food, and also how she was kept occupied! We won a lucky draw, and she found the bubble wrap!

2008 Vs 2013

I remembered in 2008 when the election, the multimedia news has just started to 'bloom' and I don't really see many of those 'political' news appear on my FB wall but THIS year is so different!!! From the minute our dearest PM tweet about his announcement to the moment of parliament dissolve to the moment with the wrong date.. blah blah.. all happened and reported so quickly via the internet.

This time, in 2013, I've seen many 'elders' (whom has missed their earlier voting right) voting for the FIRST time too!! I get so many messages making sure that everyone vote!

Also, this year has been so many anticipation, comparing to 2008 which only a parcel of people think they want to contribute. I guess time has really change, and the exposure to the multimedia contributed towards this phenomena.

What I love to see it happen...

1) A day off for the voter? hahaha..

2) A peaceful voting day with good sunny weather (not too hot..pls)

3) Don't make me walked and climbed too many stairs and waiting too long pls...

4) Result announcement on TIME! I remembered in 2008, I stayed up till all results announced and that make me very very sleepy! I always get the tabulation from the newspaper, and I will follow those little script below the show and write down all the results in the past few elections!!

Now, I'm only waiting for the polling date, and I'll be happy heading towards the polling station! hahaha...

Hana-Ichi Japanese Restaurant

Payroll came in.. and I got my monthly salary... Thinking to splurge a little to 'reward' myself and my brother (he has been helping me to 'pick' or 'send' Princess) we decided to try this new restaurant in Sri Petaling, namely Hana-Ichi Japanese Restaurant.

Those who know me, will know I'm a fan of Japanese food especially raw!!! So we went there for their sit down 'buffet' yesterday which was on promotion at about RM38++ (definitely less than RM40) however to my '~~horror~~' surprise, Princess will need to pay for child fare (as she is now above 85cm)!!! aiya...

Anyway, we did not regret for going there... the Sashimi was fresh, and melt in the mouth!! I ordered a few round of that!! and best, the Sashimo was fried to perfect!!!! OMG, just eating these 2 are enough to make me go again and again...

My brother being one of the opposite of me.. went for tempura, terayaki and tepanyaki!!! Well, if one that he ordered twice, you know it just give good review as he is one 'picky' ones!!!! We both ate till FULL!!

Princess had a bowl of cha-soba, few spoon of the fragrant garlic rice and of course her favorite ebikko sushi! Oh, she had a bowl of edamame too!

I don't have any photo for this meal, as my camera now is on travel to India (mum is holding it) however I recommend you that this is one place if you decide to go for something Japanese..

The only thing that we do not like last night is the Sushi rice (too sour) to our taste and we feedback to the owner on that. She mentioned that previously customers mentioned that the rice has no taste, therefore a change of the recipe! But this time... for me.. it's just too much...

We will be heading there again tonight as I am meeting a friend.. and gonna try their bentos!!!! Let you know if it's good ya...

Part 2 - Shopping! when financially concern...

Who don't like shopping? However, shopping alone for baby essential and for the preggy mummy is somehow not as interesting than having a partner. If you are financially concern, then the option you can have is to get hand me down. I have people asking me if I mind hand me down, and of course I'm not! I took in hand me down from pregnant clothing to baby clothes! hehehe..

Now for essential items that I went around shopping, were just the below:-

1) A few those 'hole' t-shirts (2 - 3 pcs) and Jucso selling RM6.90 at that time

2) Napkins (muslim cloth) - 1 dozen

3) Napkin liners

4) 2 -3 pcs of long sleeve pajamas

5) a pair of shoe (for pregnancy)

6) 2 towels

7) bottle sanitizer - Avent (I bought it for RM350, and later sold it after not using)

As my intention was to breastfeed, I did not get any bottle initially, and later in order to store BM, I use milk bags instead. I got 2 / 3 bottles hand-me-down too!

Also, don't need to buy disposable diapers as usually the hospital (private) will provide you and they will give you a few packs to bring home. It's sufficient if you put it only at night as baby outgrown the NB size very fast.

After the birth of the baby, I only started to shop for cloth diaper and I choose the cheapest I can get... It took me a while to search around the net to get the 'cheapest'. I invested about 15 pcs of cloth diapers costing average of RM30 each. This save me a lot as I use this even at night. I don't need to use disposable at home (but of course it gets to the laundry work which with or without cloth diaper, you still need to do washing right...)

Next, toys!! I don't buy toys during the initial stage.. but gradually started when she learns to appreciate what toys are! I got a 'free' cot hanger (those with music) from my Gynae when I went for my check-up and that was used throughout the journey of growing up. All in all.. don't over spend unnecessary, as the child may not understand what you doing for him / her at the initial stage..

Facebook? I always choose what I want to see...

I guess in many situation, we are 'confined' to certain things, and we some how 'lost' control about it... But today, I want to share with you on what you can control over your Facebook!! I've seen many people ranting on games requests (especially) and some notifications pop up here and there with the same news 'beautifying' the wall and so forth.. It kept me thinking... why on earth one make asked people to stop, when they can easily just turned off all this... no point harping on it if you think you get so annoyed with all that... what you can do:-

1) block the game... once the game is block, no one sees you anywhere and you don't receive any thing on that again... especially now with the heat of 'crushing'..

2) Hide the person.. if you find it annoying for someone sharing too many news or article, then hide that person from your wall.. or even best, delete the person from your friend's list...

3) If you don't want people to know what you going on.. then you can either have that 'removed' or in the 'restricted' or 'acquaintance' list... these people may only see things you post on 'public' mode...

4) Choose what you want to see from that person... you can choose to only see a certain things like status updates, photos, likes and comments and even games... so, be wise...

I don't mean to offend anyone, however I always believe one should get in charge of their own eyes, ears, mouth and brain... you see what you want to see... You hear what you want to hear.. and speak what you think it's right and you analyse what is right and wrong..

If you keep barking on others, it's make no difference when people say... 有小鸡不管，管老鹰。It will only make you more stress trying to control others... let us just do things that make us happy, and not overly bothered about that...

If you think you can't take it further with your FB, then I think it's good to have the account terminated...

I'm sure one on FB is to know what is going on with others, and one who share sure think they care to share... but if you choose otherwise, then take control of your own FB account... learn on what you can do with your privacy and account setting.. I'm sure you have lot more happiness than 'grumbling'...

Enjoy and have fun... Life is too short to get over petty stuff...

The Babe turned 1 soon...

Last year around this time, I am searching for this babe and now, it turned 1 and her insurance, tax are all renewed and 'stick' on the windscreen this morning.

A year with this babe, I'm glad it has not given me much a headache and is actually quite well taken care off where I give it a better treatment than myself!! It went on 'facial' almost once every 2 to 3 months, and had a good 'spa' just a few months old then.

It cost me another bomb of course to get her 'available' to be use but it's all worth it anyway. No choice since I got other alternatives at all at the moment! I was at the 'owner' coz it's still on a Hire Purchase last 2 days to do all the renewal, and I've got the 'license' to continue using her for another year yesterday.

Service at the 'owner' was good, fast and effective I would say. I'm glad GOD directed me to this 'owner' therefore I don't really have any hassle dealing with the renewal. All insurance and tax were kao tim by them. Now the hilarious part was, a summon which was at least 8 years ago (belongs to another car), appeared from no where and I nearly got 'stopped' from having the babe renewed. Of course, with the technology, I quickly settle the summon and was glad given 50% off... *phew*

Now that babe turned 1, I'm happy to have it with me.. with this, we have been travelling more often, more time spend together... and both myself and princess are grateful for this...

We will take good care of this babe... :D

Till next year... babe.. please be good and don't burn another big hole in my pocket ya.. :p

Sad to see this every morning when I log on to Google Reader... I will not be able to 'glance' through all my 'favourite' blog post anymore come 1 July, 2013!!! I may need to go into individual blogs (which then I got to book marked it) and well, it does create traffic to the blog, but sometimes you know.. not many that I enter to read...

Now that I read here, I know I can download all my subscriptions into a place, and later transfer it to somewhere else... but where?

So far, I only got 1 solution, which is NuffnangX which I should gradually move over too... So, if you one using reader to read your blog subscription, guess now you got to move over to something else before it went retirement...

Sultan of Science... By Petrosains

Last 2 weekend, it was a memorable day for me.. That was the first time for me to enter Petrosains as a VISITOR!!! I only enter Petrosains as their volunteers those days and never as a Visitor before. I was there to look up for their new exhibits, Sultans of Science (Islamic Science Rediscovered). All I can say is that I got myself 'hooked' by all the new exhibits and also Petrosains in keeping their standards of service and display. I let the photos do the talking instead of myself.

I brought along Princess, and despite she don't really understand the head to toes on what going on, I guess she did enjoy herself very much especially later part with the science shows and magic shows!

First step... Get a right Gynae

As pregnancy is not a 'fun' journey if you didn't take it well. In any situations you are in, get a right gynae that is willing to LISTEN to you, and share your worries and understand your financial situation. For me, I did mentioned to the doctor I'm not married, and may or may not end up be one. Therefore, my gynae did sit down with him to analyse the costing to which I can afford.

Well, if you are financially tight, but still can't get the comfort of visiting a public hospital, he actually offered that I can do all my check ups in his clinic (coz he operates a AM & PM clinic) and later upon delivery, he will write a letter for my admission to the public hospital but I told him I'm still OK financially do deliver in a Private hospital.

Next, ensure that ONLY necessary tests are carried out and not being 'bomb' with many many scans and test. Some tests are costly, therefore if not necessary, ask the doctor if you can skip it. I think I only do the "down syndrome" and "sugar" test thus far during my preggy journey.

Be happy always.. if you have no one to talk to, then choose the doctor! He or She is paid to LISTEN to you and you may share your worries with him/her. Stay positive for the sake of your child. No matter how sad you are or how frustrating you are, just keep yourself happy.. Indulge in things your like, and live life to the fullest.

Talk to the baby... let the baby know who you are, and feel the baby movement. Each time when you visit the gynae, ask to scan the face / hands and try communicating with the little one.. when you are filled with the feeling that life is great, and wonderful.. you will not start to think too much of the 'man'! Tell the baby that you will be there, even with no other one..

Stay with positive with caring friends!! Family members are important, but heart to heart friends are same too! With friends surrounding you and giving you the positive vibes and keeping you accompany, you are more or less no time to think about the 'bad' part. I'm one lucky one that has got both family and friends to care for!!! I seriously want to thank these bunch of great friends around me!! I know some of you are reading... so a BIG Thank you again!!!

For record...

My each visit to the gynae cost around RM60 to RM90.

I think I paid about RM300++ for the down syndrome test and another RM200++ for the sugar test.

I need to be on a sugar level 'observation' and I got the machine loaned from the hospital that I'm going to deliver. FOC. Only need to buy the consumables costing about RM50 if I am not wrong..Oh ya, I paid RM150 for deposit to loan the sugar test machine and got it back on the same day when I returned it.

Did a 3D scan and come with a CD costing around RM150..

I shall talked about the preparation in welcoming the baby next.... buying only essentials...

JOURNEY TO THE WEST 西游降魔篇

Courtesy of Nuffnang, I went to watch the premier of the show. I guess this kind of movie, I will normally not watched in the cinema as I have the impression that movie like this, enjoy at home is way much more comfy than going to the cinema.. Since it's tickets won at the NN contest, I 'date' my brother for this movie last night.

We were seated in the very front row, 2nd row from the front to be exact and movie starts at 9pm. I enjoyed the movie very much since the beginning. Even is a Stephen Chow's movie, I'm expecting some 'mo lei tou' joke but this time, he did not overdo it. Of course, with the leng lui 'Shu Qi' as the main cast, it brings a lot of 'ummph' in the movie. But the 'men' casts were not that fantastic... means no 'leng chai' in the show!!

The storyline did not sway too much from the origin, and I say the animation effects are great too! I like it very much when the illustration of Buddha is mirrored in the mountains!! The only thing I can say I dislike is the real 'pig' and 'king kong' which I got scared by it TWICE!!! Sitting near to the screen, it usually makes my head spin however this time it did not. I'm like watching a 3D effect movie as the animations were so real right in front of my eyes!

This can be one of the recommended movie for this Chinese New Year if you got no plans...

It's very alarming when I've read so many 'ladies' being impregnated, and later the man decided He is not going to be responsible for the baby. I've heard stories of abortion, and so forth happening... but guess, when one is not able to find support and help, abortion is one option which no one wish to take.. but no choice..

Some people may say, why not give birth to it, but if you are a woman with not support emotionally and financially, carrying a baby for 9 months (or maybe sometimes 8 months) is not easy! Saying it's always easier than anything. I'm not in support of abortion, but I do respect people decision in that manner. I did once told someone, in any situation if I'm not hit 30s, and I'm impregnated, I may consider that too. You think it's very irresponsible for a mother to abort a child, but do you think

Now, back to being a single mother, it's not an easy journey. I've heard lots of 'gossip' behind my back, and of course there were a lot of considerations at that time. I don't do thing impulsive, I always have plans ahead, and try to make things happen than waiting for it to happen, therefore the pregnancy came as a 'surprise' when I was just over 30!! Damn!

When I first got to know about the news, it was already in the gynae clinic as I was there for other test and NOT a pregnancy test!!! I'm all alone, don't know how to react, just nodding my head and I can't recall a single word the doc told me on that day till now! I came home holding my fear, tear and all sorts of mixed feeling... My concerns:-

1) Is the man going to be responsible?

2) How will my mum take it?

3) My work?

4) $$ enough mou?

5) To stay back at home or move out?

and blah blah blah......

I'm going to write in 'slow' mode on dealing with this matters, and hope it can be a 'reference' for those who is in the situation...

I must pen this down as a great milestones my girl achieve after attending school for 1 month!!! At 31st January 2013, she finally walked into her school without me following her, and waving goodbye to me at the gate!!!

Last night, she has been saying she want to walk into the school on her own, and I just need to stop outside. This was a continue story of last Friday, when she went to school, and it's raining. With no choice, I have to dropped her at the covered pathway, and asked her to walk into the school on her own. Never did I expect that she 'offered' to do that again this morning!

So, I was 'brainwashing' her to be 'early' as then I could arrived at work early, and leave office early. So, she has this 'mindset' that if she did not delay me, she will definitely see me in the evening to pick her (sometimes, I was stuck at work, not that I'm late to work... hehehe). Guess she decided that letting her walked in the school, she will be more prepared to attend class, than waving bye bye to me in the classroom.

I 'double' confirm with her this morning, if she is OK to walk into the school on her own, and she nod!! OK, let's see how she did it... She still need some help to carry her bag down 2 steps from the gate to the walkway, therefore I helped her there, and she just waved me bye-bye!! She walked straight with no turning back and I left the school with a BIG SMILE!

Oh.. guess tonight will be her reward night again... but nevermind, as long as it works best for both of us! We are no longer need to struggle to get to school / work!

HURRAY!

It's a long weekend here in KL, as we are not working tomorrow and I will need to continue my baking...

The chocolate chip cookies are in production for sales.. and the love letters were gift for family and friends made by my mum and my aunt! We both has different production center this weekend!

I drafted a long post last week, but very unfortunate it did not get posted as I was having bad fever day.. and this morning, when I got back to work, the news that the boy was gone spread over the weekend! How many of us are one guilty parents of leaving child / children in car?

I'm one that is guilty of leaving child in the car! YES, I will leave Princess in the car if I'm just down to go for some bank matters, or sometimes grabbing a quick ta pao. This happen if I can have it to save the 'trouble' of bringing her in and out of the car however the car must be within my visualization area!

We do heard of children being suffocated while left in the car, but having the child 'opened' the car door and went missing was not a 'case'. My girl has know how to open the car door now, and I guess it's no longer an option for me to do so, more with this incident.

It's sad to hear William is no longer with us, and may his soul Rest in Peace.

I hope this incident do awake some parents who really take things for granted, and not leaving their child / children out of their sight. Let Princess out of my sight for 2 sec, my heartbeat will surely STOP! Just last Sunday, when Princess went running around the church compound while we were waiting for a talk to start, and even in a 'safe' compound, my heart will went thumping and I went searching for her. I know she was in safe hands (as she followed my friend's maid to the ladies) but still..... I'm worry...

My manager and I were discussing last week when we heard the fateful news, that if anything happened to our own child, I think we will follow their steps too!!! I pray to GOD for his Mighty Power, that HE keep my girl, and all the children in the world Safe!! Just let them live their life to fullest, and not being in bad situation like this.

The bait for NO CRY...

Yes, it's been a peaceful Monday & Tuesday because of the above... But not exactly the one... We went lunch with my uncle last weekend, and walked pass a 'stall' selling a 'toy' baby stroller (it meant for the toy doll not my princess) and my princess immediately jumped at it and wanted that! Since it's a Sunday that we are out, I used that opportunity to tell her NO CRYING to school for 2 weeks, and she will get this as her reward and NO CRYING if she wants to play with it at home!!

She requested the stroller, a baby (with pacifier) and a bottle too! She is just so 'mummy' and I guess this is what you get when you got a daughter la.. and one who stick to you 24/7 and not seen a daddy at all! She sometimes will just 'talk' like me, and I can hear words like.. 'be good girl ah', 'no crying', 'you want to go kai -kai' sort of words...

If she can tahan till next weekend, this little stroller will be hers.. and to continue to 'tempt' and 'train' her, I will promise her the baby doll and the rest... Well, I guess this would be the better alternatives of keep telling her NO CRYING when she is not LISTENING right? Everyone will need a little 'motivation' and 'reward' and guess this would be something I can use

Hopefully after she got used to the 'no cry' episodes, she will not revert to one...

Am I right as a mother doing that? I don't know.. but at least, I've got 2 peaceful days... :p

Is it too long?

I picked up Princess yesterday evening and the daycare teacher asked if Princess sleep late at night. I explained no as we usually head to the room by 9pm, and latest by 10pm, we doze off! I asked why and it seems Princess got 'tired' and 'sleepy' after lunch, and during the 'enrichment' class!

Can you guess my first reaction? I was told they got a nap after 'school' how come now is 'enrichment' class? Then I further asked on what time do they get to 'rest' after the class, and was told about 3pm++ and the teacher says by then Princess don't want to nap already and she will be wide awake!! I was like.. hmmm... so long 'study' time, can the child really absorb? She told me they do some reading, and then will let her do some colouring, and when she does her colouring, she doze off on the table... oh ya, I can relate to that.. colouring is some how a boring things to do though... hehehe...

Anyway, it keep me thinking on this... Is it too long a time frame for a 4 years old to go on 'reading' from 8am to 3pm, with maybe an hour break in between for lunch? Will it do any benefit for her to continue with it? I don't have the intention to 'stress' my girl even if she will be going for a Mandarin medium school in Primary, but stress her now all the way there may have a 'backfire' effect!

I really like this school, as it's big with good compound and space. Not under those air-conditioned area double storey house kind of place. This school has been established for a long time, and with good word of mouth among the neighborhood... I don't want to pull Princess out from the school, however I don't want to stress her too much too..

I told the teacher that Princess is used to having a 11am++ / 12pm++ nap in her playschool previously, and therefore explained why she gets tired by the time it's after school. I told the teacher that they have to give her time to get used to the timetable again. Actually, she has not even get used to the teachers at the moment. I'm feeling very guilty to put my girl through all this actually... I don't know why she cries every morning, I don't know how she fare in school, I don't know the rationale for the school to have her enrichment class while under the daycare.

I understand that the school will want to categorise the children in their reading ability, which I admit my girl don't really fare very well there. She is one that learned by living, and for her to learn on books, I always find it difficult since young. So now, another challenge which I think I will only deal with it later.. not now!

I'm sorry for all the 'complains' but seriously, I'm somehow at the wits end to go through school life with my girl now.. haiz...
