As you already know I’m not big fan of nail art or everyday nail polishing, probably I’m like most of you try to keep my nails neat using simple manicure tools and clean nail lacquer. Surely from time to time I spend more time trying to fix my nails with orange sticks or glass nail file and applying some bold color, though it happens so rare.

But enough about me…so 365 days of nail art challenge. The whole thing is to have different type of nail art. As far as I understand Melissa Osburn was pioneer of this you may say obsession (in a good way), she already completed her plan providing us a whole bunch of new nail art ideas, which in my opinion is for good.

That’s what Melissa posted on her blog The Daily Nail on 30 of September in 2009.

And it really went whole year, each day new and fascinating designs and colors. I assume that post inspired many bloggers to start their own challenges some last for 100 days some 30, but the entire concept still fascinates me.

I might think that I’m going to start my own, well I won’t due to several reasons. First one is lack of time, second I don’t have so many nail polishes (and I won’t buy entire OPI summer collection), and the last but not the least reason I’m lazy, way too lazy to do my nails every day.

And what about you, what do you say? Can you do it at least for seven days?

• High heels

Women who prefer high-heels subconsciously want to be “above all”; they like to challenge and break rules.  Most of them  emphasize their sexuality.

• Stiletto heels

As a matter of fact stiletto heels are favorites among self-reliant ladies, who get along with people pretty easy and naturally very feminine.

• Platform heels

Girls who can take a stand and also have very tough personality prefer these shoes. However sometime they can be very unpredictable.

• Platforms

Practical and very romantic girls choose platforms. These women pursue success at any price and also can be very straightforward.

• Low wedges

Calm and flexible girls like low wedges; person who can accept compromises and very pleasant to talk with.

• Flat low heels.

Strong women choose shoes on low heel (like men shoes). They always know what they want, but can tend to depressions.

• Sport shoes

Open minded and extrovert women will choose these kinds of shoes, but can be very conservative and won’t accept radical changes in their lives.

What do you say? Do you believe in that? Most of the women have at least one pair of each mentioned above types of shoes, which only proves woman’s mysterious character and unpredictability.

There are at least six useless body, face and hair care cosmetic products.

1. Under eye dark circles removers.

None of the creams will remove dark rims it helps to cover then.  There are several causes of those dark under eye rims;  it can be that you have thin skin through which blood vessels are visible- don’t think that “magic cream” will help in this case. Or you haven’t slept enough, well go and get some rest stop depending on useless ads trick.

2. Rejuvenating serums.

Ads often promises us “your potion” only if you pay a fortune for that and voila you look as young and fresh as 20 years ago.  Our skin is constructed in that way, when the creams or serums can’t reach deepest skin cells. Of course there is a visible effect from using such serums, but it’s achieved due to moisturizing. If there would be such serum, well I would feel sorry for the whole plastic surgery industry.

3. Body pilings.

All body scrubs and peelings are basically mix of melted kernels, sand or salt and soapy ingredients. Simple loofah will give the same effect as super high-end scrub.

4. Cellulite fighters.

It’s been written all over the place that there are some many causes of cellulite including hormonal issues, eating disorder, low physical activity and genetic disposition! And still millions of women keep spending their money to buy creams which meant to fight consequences not causes.  However there is a smooth and less “orangy-peel” skin due to moisturizing.

5.    Nourishing hair masks.

Hair structure is so complex that without targeted treatment of hair bulb you won’t improve anything. Masks temporarily seal splitting hair making brushing easy process and your hair won’t be healthy if you only use masks, hair dresser there is your solution.

6.    Anti dandruff shampoos.

Dandruff appears when your oil bags on head skin work improperly causing spread of so called dandruff fungus. Therefore you need special shampoo, which you can buy in pharmacy. Usuall shampoo don’t cure, it only lessens work of oil bags.

Shiny skin, silky hair, fit and smooth body- all of us want to be perfect.  There is no doubt that we need all of the different cosmetics. But let’s not forget, our appearance is mostly result of our habits and life style. Maybe we should pay more attention to what we eat, how we move and what we do and when time comes maybe even ask a help from specialist, without waiting miracle changes?

• Each hair grows for about 0.35 mm during the day.

• 35-45 Celsius degree is the best water temperature to wash your hair.

• 84% of women population use visit to hair salon as natural mood booster.

• Hair loss affects 60-70% of men and 25-40% of women.

• Daily we lose for about 40-80 hair, if the number is far larger…time to make an appointment with doctor.

And you know what it just appeared to me that our company also has product preventing hair loss. Hair brush with natural boar bristles…daily use of it helps blood circulation and in general is good to brush your hair.

I’m subscribed to several blogs and some of them do have wishlist some don’t.  I should clarify, that I’m talking about beauty bloggers, about those who has separate page on their blog’s with listed items. You know what’s bothering me? Why? Why do you have to have a wishlist? Can anyone explain me that?

I know some bloggers stay in close touch with readers and follower, but I don’t think they expect presents, no? It’s not even extended family members who is coming to your wedding and you have to provide some gift guide.

Or is it something that companies should search for when looking for new marketing options? Say, there is certain girl addicted to make up and she is desperate about getting last collection of lipstick (but she can’t whatever reasons there are) and voila company sends her samples or maybe full version of products. At end everyone is happy; girl got her presents, company got their feedback.

Well while I’m wondering and trying to get the purpose of online wish-lists, I will add one item to my future “want this list”.

Yep, the compact mirror; beautiful accessory that I have in my purse, but not as pretty as those ones above.  Do you like them too?

According to that I supposed to wear strong perfumes. Mostly called   ambered or “oriental” perfumes. If you are not sure what it is there is hint, try to remember the scent of Guerlain’s Shalimar and Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium.  I have to say, I don’t like those types of scents. Never liked on me, it suits my mom, but not me.  Plus I have to avoid “floral fragrances” apparently fresh spring notes won’t flatter me.

See, quite confusing, because my favorite perfume that I have on my beauty table for 8 years is described as an “Emotional Floral” with top notes of Champaca flower, mandarine and ivy leaves; middle notes of orchids, violet and rose; base notes of Damascus plum, Amaranth wood and blackberry musk.

Or also there is a funny tip, saying that you have to choose your perfume in calm and quite mood and place. Can you imagine non-hectic Sephora or beauty-corner?

I did try smelling my friends and asking what are they wearing, which followed by crazy shopping when I bought three of four new scents; at the end some of the ended up at my sister, one at my mom and the other one I gave to my friend.

I honestly envy those women who have several fragrances on their toiletry and they can wear them according to season, occasion or whatever. However, I should mention that my fav one has 4 variations of scent and I’m pretty happy with that. Well, mostly because I don’t have to go through all that testing, smelling and “headaching”. Want to know which one I’m talking about?  Here you are.

Cream- the most popular cosmetic product, you can recognize it by thick formula.

Souffle – is less thick cream, actually more liquid cream. Mostly used for body and goes well as makeup remover.

Milk- same as soufflé with minimized oil base.

Gel (fluid) – is moisturizer with light texture, minimum of oils and maximum of water. You can use it along with cream, but apply the gel first. Exceptions: products with SPF and wrinkle fillers.

Jelly- is essential for those who suffers from allergic reaction caused by fats.

Emulsion- two phase products, which consist of oil and water based that don’t mix.

Tonic (lotion)- consist of water and alcohols plus different sorts of vitamins. Most of the time used as makeup remover, the rest result such as pore minimizing or moisturizing pleasant bonuses.

Serum- cocktail made from active components (amino acids, vitamins and minerals), usually serum solve targeted problems, whether it’s face lifting, dehydrated skin, pigment spot.

Scrub- has micro beads, which remove dead cells and skin oil. Sand, sea salt, crushed pit or silicone balls used as so micro beads. Depending on that scrubs could be for body, feet and even for head. The most delicate is facial scrub.

Gommage- is more delicate scrubbing product for sensitive skin, doesn’t have any hard particles as pits. It removes oils and dead skin cell because of different type of acids.

Piling (exfoliant) – it’s actually name of exfoliating procedure. There several type of piling: chemical, mechanic and laser; prepares skin for better adsorption of creams and masks.

Foam and mousse were created for washing, difference is, that foam needs to be foamed and mousse is ready-to-go product.

Mask- as previous two beauty products have to be applied on for few minutes. There are cream, gel based masks, dry masks and even fabric masks. Masks have more nourishing components that other

To keep your nails healthy and neat and maybe even to have long nails, well it’s an art.  Nail polish is one of the main tools (if I may say so) which helps us to get perfect manicure, though at the same time nail polish is one of the enemies of healthy nails.

Nail lacquer itself is actually artificial thing based on a lot of chemicals, so saying “what it should not consist of” is not quite correct. Each of nail polish you see or buy or apply has dozen of toxic elements, and despite that nails are dead cells, there are still pores through which our bodies get all the junk.

So, what should not be inside the precious nail polish bottles?

When purchasing nail polish carefully read the description, you will find a lot of useful information that will help you to pick the right nail polish.  “The right nail polish” should not have any toluene or formaldehyde based components.

Formaldehyde is a liquid with specific strong smell and irritates mucous membrane causing headaches, and minor damages of central nervous system. Pregnant women have to avoid this hazardous element, because it can cause anomalies in fetus development.

Toluene is strong dissolvent that actually allows nail polish to stay longer on the nails. But, when it gets into our respiratory systems it harms us causing respiratory illnesses.

But the thing is that essential oils are dangerous because of their concentrated vapor. While choosing nail polish consider not only the formula but also price tag. Cheap nail polish can’t be good. Also notice any changes in nail condition; peeling, brittleness, yellow coloration- all of these point at the bad quality of nail polish.
