After a couple of carefully planned "Technology Previews", unveiling pre-release versions of the product to key partners and customers, the release of Web Site Management (WSM) 11.0 has finally landed!

OpenText Web Site Management intelligently manages and delivers content easily—within context of the user—to the web, mobile, portal, and other media channels. Version 11 has a strong focus on performance improvements which take advantage of .NET4 and a 64bit architecture. What this means to users is an enhanced, responsive editing experience, and improved publication.

Accompanying the architectural improvements under the hood, Web Site Management builds upon its impressive array of integrations with a new integration to OpenText’s Content Analytics and Semantic Navigation products. Once integrated, these products allow Web Site Management customers to take advantage of their powerful capabilities including permitting end-users and/or website visitors facilitated access to the content they seek through a faceted search.

We had expected that a few custom solutions in this project would break, but the server proved us wrong. While complex pages with custom scripts used to take several seconds to load in previous versions of Management Server, the new server produced the pages almost instantly. In addition to the strong end user experience improvements, version 11 helps to further empower developers by expanding the extension points through which the product can be enhanced and tailored to meet specific needs.
