The stunning location is just the beginning of this star studded affair. We also just read an update on the event blog that the one and only Ms. Sylvia Weinstock will be present as well. It doesn't get much better than this!!

Our Save the Date

Hello Everyone! We've been on a bit of a break (the holidays get a little crazy around here!) but working on getting back to keeping you up to speed with the latest and greatest in wedding DIY!

With that in mind we wanted to take a moment to share a bit of our own wedding with you. We decided to create a save the date postcard rather than a traditional item that might be included in a regular envelope since we loved the chic style of the postcard design and it also comes with extra perk that postcard stamps are more cost effective than traditional postage, how great is that!?

Our postcard, along with the remaining invitation suite are designed by the lovely Ms. Tammy Lyon with Uniquity Invitations (if you missed our feature on her fabulous company, here it is to check out all her DIY invitation templates)

We also wanted to let you know about a great printing resource we found as well! Next Day Flyers did an incredible job printing our save the date postcards and at an unbelievable price point! The paper quality and vibrant colors have made us future customers (we're going to be using them to print our entire invitation set!) and we couldn't wait to pass on this terrific resource.

The bonus to having them printed by an outside source means that they came to us already cut which saved a great deal of time. They offer you the option to have your items printed with a glossy or matte finish (we've opted to go with the matte finish but have no doubt the glossy finish would look sharp as well). If you absolutely needed your items asap just get them uploaded before 6pm their time and voila, they'll be in your hands the next day! And if you have more time on your hands select the option for regular ground delivery and just watch how it decreases your price point even further! Long story short, this is a fantastic resource for printing your own DIY invitations. Enjoy!!

This Weeks Featured Etsy Seller: The Pretty Peacock

This weeks featured Etsy seller is one that we'll be using for our own wedding so we're super excited to share! The Pretty Peacock specializes in "personalized jewelry with meaning" including these beauties below!

These brushed silver cuff links can be personalized to make a gorgeous grooms gift. Also shown above are the personalized eternity bangles which would make for some stunning bridal jewelry and are also a great option for bridesmaids gifts! The final of our favorite items (and the purchase we'll be making soon!) is the pair of poesie rings pictured above. With the option to personalize them with any message and to select a slightly thicker band for your groom, this is a touching way to make your wedding rings very personal and extra special! Enjoy!!

The Luxury Wedding Expo!

This weekend we were so excited to spend plenty of time at The Luxury Wedding Expo by Martha Stewart Weddings! This virtual event could be attended by anyone, anywhere over a span of two days. Wedding pros from all areas of the industry were available to answer questions and offer their advice, among plenty of other happenings!

The best part!? Most of the resources are still available on the website! Complete with details for all your planning needs this is one of our new favorite resources. There's also an entire page dedicated to videos including Crafting Handmade Touches which is full of ideas for the savvy diy bride!

We love to support our fellow diy-ers which is why we've started a new weekly feature to highlight some of our favorite Etsy shops! If you missed our first feature, be sure to stop by and see the stunning bridal clutches by Davie and Chiyo.

This week we're delighted to feature Paloma's Nest, the place to shop if you're looking to acquire "handmade modern heirlooms". Let's take a peek!

The Most Charming Guest Book -The Review

We're huge fans of diy projects that add a personal touch to your wedding day and this project goes above and beyond showcasing your own personal style!

Total Cost: $54.99*

*This was the cost of the specific photo book we selected for the project which was the 12"x12" digital scrapbook. Additional photo books in different sizes and styles range in price from $12.99 for a soft cover 5"x7" book to $69.99 for a fabric or leather covered 12"x12" book

Time Spent: 4 to 6 hours

This can also vary depending on if you would like to be very detailed, if you would like to keep it clean and simple, and everything in between. You can also save your project and come back to it at any time which is great for the busy bride

Difficulty: Moderate

Uploading photos and maneuvering through this process may take some time initially. However the drag and drop design process gets easier once you get the hang of it. And if you'd really like to make things easy, they have a storyboard option which allows you to drag and drop photos into each of the pages and then the backgrounds and layouts are selected for you!

Overall this project was a concept we really liked to begin with and after working through the process and seeing a preview of the final result we were ecstatic at how ridiculously gorgeous everything turned out! And as we mentioned at the end of the previous post, this particular project will be making an appearance at our own wedding next May!!

Long story short, this will definitely be a guest book you'll want to showcase on your coffee table and enjoy for a very long time which makes it even better. Enjoy!
