Shed Construction Progress, Report 1

At long last the storage shed project is taking large leaps forward. We're rained out today but next week we'll be fabricating arched roof support beams (photos to come), building our drain field and Tyvek-ing.

Topped it off with a LEAGUES - Mat Kearney concert at Mercy Lounge/Cannery Ballroom.

YouTube begins trial of new live streaming platform #youtube

This new platform integrates live streaming directly into YouTube channels; all broadcasters need is a webcam or external USB/FireWire camera. Included in the test is a “Live Comments” module which lets you engage with the broadcaster and the broader YouTube community. For the purpose of the trial, this offering will only be available today and tomorrow. Based on the results of this initial test, we’ll evaluate rolling out the platform more broadly to our partners worldwide.

Loyalty cards' CardStar meets up with Foursquare

The missing partnership link between CardStar and the retailer is a logical next step. Potentially requiring an extra step to accept an offer - or worse still - having to choose between loyalty credit and an offer may create some tension depending on the offer. This will be addressed soon I'm sure but will it take some time to put partnerships in place, especially for non-chain retailers.

Without a doubt though, this will further catapult CardStar's position as a collector of valuable data which can be used to enhance offers through better understanding of demographics and purchase patterns.

Good read; better than fair attempt at describing Apple's Apple-ness.

While Apple certainly has its share of missteps under its belt, the company has also managed of late to create a track record of products which are category game-changers and for the most part, fun to use. Their moves are rarely reactive but seem to anticipate where the market is heading.

For all the handwringing in the media about Jobs' culture of 'secrecy' and 'seclusion' there is little doubt that the Apple CEO's tenure and continuity of leadership are no small part of Apple's success.

Gotta love the 'continuity of wardrobe' too as seen in the timeline above

Google's Caffeine sounds like an apt name for its' new search index technology. Processing several hundreds of thousands of pages in parallel every second would give most anyone the jitters.

With the exponential growth of social media and content added almost constantly, content creators want their information searchable in a more timely fashion.
