I’m a pretty productive guy and I’m often asked what I do to get things done. Well, I thought it’d be cool to talk a bit about how I stay productive as my first blog post of 2008. It’s actually pretty simple, I mean, keeping it simple is kind of key to my whole philosophy. In my opinion, one of the biggest deterrents to getting things done is having a system that has to be managed. If you’re spending more time looking for new ways to help you get things done you’re missing the point. Keep it simple. I’ve got a few “rules” and methods that I stick to pretty religiously that make up about 90% of what keeps me productive. Want to know what they are? Read on.

For the last few years I’ve made a habit of sitting down near the end of the year to think about my goals for the future. In doing so I also take a long hard look back at the year just about to pass. I think about how I did with the goals I set for myself and all the things I accomplished (or failed to accomplish) as the year played out. I’ve been keeping a running log of my…adventures as well as loose tabs on my plans and goals. This year I decided to write about it publicly, if for no other reason than to put “on the record” some of my goals for 2008.

I’d like to wish you all a terrific holiday and in doing so I thought I’d do a special mix for you. For this one we’re going to take a trip back in time, to the early and mid 80’s; my formative years in many regards. It was there and then, through junior high and high school that I really developed a love for music. Picture me; tall for my age, lanky, to skinny to play (in any competitive way) the sports I grew up loving, having to turn to new diversion
