Re-Up: D-Wirks - Foot On The Gas (2010)

2013-02-25T12:56:00.001-05:00

On February 25, 2010, the duo of producer Beewirks and lyricist D. Schwartz released their debut as D-Wirks with "Foot On The Gas". Previously teased by the Intro and self-titled tracks, the "EP" ended up with 11 songs in total, clocking in at over 37 minutes. Originally it was intended to be a concept album, as evidenced by storytelling on tracks like "Training Day" and "Outro", but the finished product included varying styles, including an introspective look back on D's experiences with hip-hop and the music industry with "Goin Thru Hip Hop".

Today marks the third anniversary of Foot On The Gas, and we're celebrating by making this free release available once again for those who never got a chance to listen, or for those who want to hear it again. So if you haven't already, please check it out, you definitely won't be disappointed, and if you want a sequel, make sure to let them know!

New Music: D-Wirks - Hello (Intro)

2012-01-02T15:00:00.000-05:00

D-Wirks - Hello (Intro)

"Foot still heavy on the gas, now I'm speeding, started off in shitty situations, now I'm leaving...Good evening."

On Feb 25, 2010, D. Schwartz and Beewirks released their debut EP as D-Wirks with "Foot On The Gas". It's been a minute since we've heard from the dynamic duo, but they're back, this time with the intro track to the fabled "D-Wirks 2" project (yes, it's finally coming to fruition). What better way to start off the new year?

Very different in style from many of the first EP's tracks, but that's not necessarily a bad thing at all. This track shows not only the versatility of both the producer and MC, but the chemistry they have, which is why track after track these two continue to deliver.

If you somehow managed to sleep on their first release, it's still available for free download as well.

D. Schwartz - Sucka Blogga

I think I can speak for the vast majority when I say we're tired of all the sucka bloggas out there on the internets (and yes I realize there is at least some irony in posting this on a blog). With this track D. uses ATCQ's classic jam "Sucka Nigga" as a canvas to vent about some of the sucker shit these clowns have been up to.

Shout out to bloggers who keep it 100 though, we still give props to cats like Kevin Nottingham, the folks at PleaseDontStare, and the whole New Music Cartel, just to name a few.

D. came across this instrumental from 14kt over at RapOhneLizenz, and after bumpin it continuously for over an hour, felt he had to lay down some flames on this. Yet another case of a beat that definitely goes hard on its own, but D's rendition just makes it that much better. Be sure to check out more of 14kt's music over at his Soundcloud page.

Go get those Rock The Bells tickets while you still can! D. will be hosting at all four stops this year!
