Hello everyone,

We’re pleased to announce that Pro Tools 2026.4 is now available. You can download it through your Avid Account (account.avid.com) or via the Avid Link app.

We also want to address a key concern upfront: automatic delay compensation (ADC) which continues to be one of the most significant issues raised by the pro audio community. Our engineering team has been deep into a major code refactor designed to address these issues at their foundation. Applying isolated fixes to the current code would slow down this broader effort and ultimately require rework once the refractor code is complete. The most responsible and effective path is to finish the refactor, and we want you to know we’re fully committed to delivering this update as soon as possible.

Avid Link: This release includes HD Driver 2026.4 and Avid Link 2026.4. As part of our ongoing infrastructure modernization, please update to Avid Link 2025.5 or later (2026.4 recommended) to ensure a more secure and reliable experience.

Avid Account: If you’re eligible for the update, please allow 24–48 hours for it to appear in your account.

This is a substantial release, with meaningful workflow enhancements and a wide range of important fixes. Highlights include:

Track Pin — keep important tracks locked in view while navigating large sessions
Fraunhofer MPEG-H Renderer support + new Immersive Panner
Dolby Headphone Personalization support
Speech to Text enhancements
Batch File Rename for clips and disk files
Several useful workflow/dialog improvements throughout the app
New included content: Massive X Player + new Inner Circle rewards plugins

And just as important...

This release also delivers a very extensive bug fix pass across the following area's:
ARA, Automation, Control Surfaces, Delay Compensation, Editing, Bounce/Export, Folder Tracks, Hybrid Engine, MIDI, Performance, Carbon, Track Presets, Transcription, UI, and a large number of crash/error fixes throughout Pro Tools.

A few notable ones many users will appreciate:

Restored Alt+0+Enter MIDI Quantize shortcut
Fixed Track Preset Output Assignment recall behavior
Better performance on Apple M3/M4 systems at low buffer sizes
Numerous immersive/render workflow fixes
Improved Search responsiveness in larger sessions

As always, please check compatibility before updating.

macOS Tahoe (26.x) & Apple M5 Support Status

Hi everyone,

We’ve been seeing more questions recently around macOS Tahoe (26.x) and newer Apple silicon systems, including M5 chip -based systems, so I just wanted to clarify the current support status and point to the official resources.

Tahoe: At this time, support for macOS Tahoe is still tied to specific Pro Tools versions and qualified OS builds. Earlier Tahoe versions may be supported depending on the Pro Tools release, but newer updates (such as 26.2 and beyond) may not yet be fully tested or qualified.

M5 based: Newer Apple hardware like M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max systems are not yet officially qualified, even if Pro Tools appears to run.

For the most accurate and up to date information, please refer to the following...

Pro Tools Supported Apple Computers and Operating Systems
https://kb.avid.com/pkb/articles/Kno...rating-Systems

Pro Tools Technical Alerts and Updates
https://kb.avid.com/pkb/articles/faq...ts-and-Updates

These pages are updated regularly and will reflect the latest compatibility guidance, known issues, and qualification progress.

In the meantime, while Pro Tools may run on newer OS versions or hardware, please keep in mind that unqualified configurations can lead to performance or stability issues and may be more difficult to troubleshoot.

If you’re working on a critical system, the recommendation is to stay on a fully qualified Pro Tools and macOS combination until further updates are confirmed.

We’ll continue to share updates as more information becomes available.

Thanks everyone
