Ah, mid-season cleanup is getting into full swing. ABC has given Pan Am one additional episode, and Man Up! is done after it hits 13. So long!

Prime Suspect Canceled!

TV By the Numbers is reporting that NBC has shut down production of Prime Suspect and will burn off the last 6 (for a full 13) episodes. Not surprising I guess, but kind of sad: I actually liked this show.

Next question: Does this give Harry’s Law a little breathing room?

So now that the obvious ones are done, it’s time to dig deep. I figure this should be just about it for shows getting pulled before they run their full initial orders (usually 13 episodes taking them to November Sweeps). There are still a few new shows coming online this week and next so it’s possible but unlikely.

Remake Fails – Will the networks finally learn their lessons?

Seeing a trend here? There has been quite a bit of success in the movie industry with remakes, but on network TV it’s a whole other story. With one embarrassing fail after another, why do they keep trying?

ABC Cancels Charlie’s Angels

If you are one of the 6 people in the US still watching Charlie’s Angels I have bad news: After 4 sucktastic episodes (last night pulled in a sad but slightly up 1.3 in demo) this zombie of a remake is back in the ground. The only surprise here is that it took this long.

Update: TVbytheNumbers is reporting that the episodes already in the can will aired.

CW orders full seasons for Secret Circle and Hart of Dixie

Terra Nova get’s an end date

No, it’s not cancelled….yet. The last episode for season 1 of Terra Nova will air December 19th. Of course the big question on everyone’s mind is will that be the end of Season 1, or the of the series. Terra Nova was one of the most anticipated new shows of the 2011 fall season but it has not been living up to the hype. Ratings are not great (2.5 demo for the past two weeks). It’s showing a steady audience, but it has to be an expensive show to make and Fox has to be disappointed in its performance so far.

I like the show but they need to get away from the family angle a bit and get a little more serious. There are some interesting plot threads developing but the episodes so far have been underwhelming.

NBC orders 6 more episodes for dramas “Prime Suspect” and “Harry’s Law”

NBC, in a vote of so-so confidence has ordered 6 more scripts for their new drama Prime Suspect and returning drama Harry’s Law. Good news for fans of the shows, but not don’t get too giddy yet: they did not order a full season. Neither show has been a stellar ratings success this year, and with this order of 6 shows for each, I have the feeling these shows have just entered the NBC Thunder-Dome: Two shows enter, one show leaves!

Ringer gets full season pickup

TV.com and several others are reporting that CW has given freshman Sarah Michelle Gellar show Ringer a full season pickup. The show is holding somewhat stead, if a little low even by CW standards but again, it’s the CW and the show is pulling in their target demographic so no cancellation in SMG’s immediate future, but if you are a fan I’d start sweating again come May

ABC’s Last Man Standing premiers

Tim Allen’s new sitcom Last Man Standing (or Home Improvement 2.0 if you like) debuted last night to decent ratings. It pulled good numbers (3.6/10) but it’s still too early to tell yet. The numbers next week should give a pretty good indication of its fate. If it holds it’s audience then ABC should be pretty happy with it. We’ll see.

I watched the episode and it had its moments. I wouldn’t mind at all if this show makes it.
