JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Philadelphia

Today I was on the crew with Dave and Steve to shoot the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes movie. Media Wave Video Productions has produced this movie for the last three years for JDRF.

After last night's heavy rains, we were lucky and happy the weather held out and gave us a crisp Philadelphia morning. An estimated 10,000 Philly area walkers came out to raise money for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The enthusiasm was palatable as Gabrielle Howarth sang our national anthem and Mayor Nutter delivered an inspiring address to the crowd, encouraging everyone to help solve this growing problem. It was truly a remarkable scene to look out on the thousands of people united by this common interest.

I'm not a super-mushy guy (although I have my moments), but this public post on my Facebook wall today reminded me that what we do can have meaning long after the wedding day. Thank you for sharing this, Jackie!

Hi Dave- Today is my 3yr anniversary. I've already looked at our 3min re-cap online this morning and look forward to watching our full wedding video tonight (as we do every year). This year is hard for me since my Dad passed away suddenly 5 mon...ths ago. But I am SO grateful that I have our wedding video to watch and remember the many wonderful moments my Dad and I shared that day. Thank you for the amazing job you did in capturing all the special moments that are even more cherished now.

Brad and Kate to marry on the bridge of the USS Enterprise

We have been commissioned to shoot Brad and Kate on September 13th as they marry on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise, which is part of the exhibit at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Yes, the couple will be in costume.

Meet the lucky couple who entered the contest to win this wedding. Kate is from Phoenixville, PA and Brad is from Denville, NJ.

Hi, we're Brad & Kate. We met almost three years ago at a Star Trek convention in Chicago, never suspecting we would meet the love of our lives there. Our relationship continued after returning home, and in March of 2008, Brad proposed to me on stage at a Star Trek convention in New Jersey. We began planning our dream wedding in Las Vegas, on the bridge of the Enterprise D. We hesitated because our father would be unable to travel so far. Our decision was made for us when, in the fall of 2008, the Enterprise-D bridge replica was torn down. Then when Brad's father passed away earlier this year, it became essential for us to make sure my father would be able to attend our wedding in Pennsylvania. We realized it would be impossible for us to live the dream of getting married on the Enterprise bridge. But when we learned of the opportunity being offered at The Franklin Institute, we were ecstatic. Nothing would make us happier than to be able to pledge our lives to each other in the Star Trek universe, among our family, friends, and fellow Star Trek fans.

This past weekend, Dave let the rest of his crew have the fun by sending Jimmy and myself down the A.C. Expressway for a beautiful wedding in Ocean City, NJ and the reception at the Dolce Seaview near Atlantic City. Between the perfect weather and and great combination of wedding artists, such as Paula Cella and the whole staff at Dolce, Seaview, Christine and Matthew enjoyed a flawless day. Wedding Video Turn Around Time. Are we there yet?

How long will you wait? 4-5 weeks? 3-6 months? Up to a year or more? These are some of the answers you'll hear from the folks in the business right now. It's an important question to ask, because we've learned over the last 9 years that the faster our clients can see their movie, the more excited and happier they are.

We're currently delivering all final productions between 4 to 8 weeks right now, but it's good to have options. For example, we offer Same Day Edits so guests can enjoy a beautiful recap the same night at the reception or at a brunch the next day. We also offer Coming Soon Movie Trailers, like this one we produced for Jessica and Andy from last night's wedding.
