Addictive Bad Habits

The question is: “Are addictions actually bad habits?” According to the habit model of addiction, they are. This theory of addiction states that the only reason to say there is a difference is to persecute “addicts.”

People with bad habits of smoking often feel much persecuted. While smoking is not illegal (at least not yet), it is shunned by society as a whole. At first, you could smoke anywhere. Expecting fathers smoked in the maternity waiting rooms. Then, you could smoke in buildings, but only in a designated smoking room.

Then there came the designated smoking area outside the building. Now restaurants, bars, and whole cities are going smoke-free. It seems that a lot of people have given up their bad habits. However, they do not seem to remember how badly they were addicted before. The truth is that in a way, they are still addicted and always will be. That is how addiction works.

In an effort to save others from the ill effects of their second hand smoke, many people have switched their bad habits to smokeless tobacco. Just because the tobacco is not smoked, though, it does not mean the nicotine is not addictive. It is said to be just as hard a bad habit to break as cigarettes. People quitting it use patches and nicotine gum or Zyban, too.

Sleeping pills are bad habits to get into as well. They can be so addictive that you need a higher and higher dosage to fall asleep. Eventually, they will not help at all. Some people overdose in an attempt to reach a dose that will put them to sleep. It usually takes intervention by a doctor and/or a sleep clinic to straighten you out.

Alcohol can be a bad habit if you drink to excess. For some people with certain physical conditions, it can be risky anyway. It can be dangerous if mixed with particular medications. However, if a person is addicted to alcohol, they will not be concerned with that. Neither will they be concerned about their jobs or their relationships. It will all be about the next drink.

Drugs pose a variety of bad habits. There are so many illegal drugs that they are too numerous to count. They have different affects and cause different levels of addiction. Some have fast and devastating results. Others do little damage in the short run. Yet, they are all bad habits.

There are club drugs, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, and hallucinogens. All these drugs can be nasty. There are also legal drugs that people get into bad habits with by starting with an injury or other medical condition. These can be pain pills like percocet, or muscle relaxants. They are also very addictive bad habits.

If you have an addictive bad habit, you probably need some form of help to get over it. In fact, once you have a serious addiction, experiencing the sights, smells, or sounds of your addiction will start your brain in that addictive mode again. It is no wonder that people struggle for years with addictive bad habits.

On tonights Real World things don’t start out good when Will and Brittini seem to start the foreplay before their trip, lol. OMG before Will even left he had made his mind up to sleep with her and admittedly doesn’t care, I mean even if Janelle and Will got back together once this show airs it’s over. Cancun is gorgeous I was soo jealous. On their first night they attended a party cruise, the drinks start flowing and people start hoeing…mainly Will and Brittini, then it gets really bad when they leave the group, hmm. The next day they get to go swim with the dolphins, although the kiss seems to be bothering WIll and he seems remorsful we ALL know that means nothing especially after his upcoming actions. As the trip continues Will tries to put distance between him and Brittini which leaves her feeling jealous when he gravitates towards Sarah for support. Dave and Nick finally get some play from some loose canadians who obviously didn’t want their walk of shame on camera, lol. Omg this trip is making me want to plan a vaca, speedboats and snorkeling awesome! ooo I’m SOOOO glad that Brianna finally went off on them, I mean I wish it was at hotel but hey it is what it is. So instead of worrying about Janelle’s feelings Will takes the cowardly road and emails her about what happened and she reacts as expected if not better. So…men are terrible instead of Nick telling him he messed up he’s over here telling Will there will be others no good, lol…then Brianna is silly acting like she doesn’t know why Will and Janelle broke up??? REALLY? wow. Now Jeremy is in town, Brittini’s boyfriend and we’ll see how that goes….well it seems the only person who may get “screwed” is Will because Brittini doesn’t really want to tell her bf about their indiscretion. So will is single again and the guys take him out for fun which ends up with Will and Dave having a foursome in the same bed….yuck to them and those loose jezebels. After such actions Janelle calls Will up and wants to talk, tsk tsk… Will and Janelle kinda make up after he doggishly makes himself cry… I can’t wait to see this reunion show! Next week is the Season FInale and it looks explosive.

As the cubes melt, colored bubbles will swirl through the seltzer.

Dangerous Bad Habits

Some bad habits are just annoying, but others are actually dangerous. It is these dangerous bad habits that can really get you in trouble. Some people like to take risks. Others do not think about how their bad habits could affect them.

Bad habits can be nothing more than not paying attention to your physical condition. If you are taking sedating drugs, it would be a bad habit if you continually worked in this condition. If you work two jobs, it can be a dangerous habit to work when you are sleepy. You would need to find a safe way to get enough sleep to work.

Many people have bad habits around electricity. They may use frayed extension cords without thinking. This is a bad habit that can lead to electrocution or fire. Using ladders, especially metal ladders, around power lines is another bad habit that is dangerous.

Some people have dangerous bad habits that are just unnecessary by any stretch of the imagination. People, often younger people, like to stand on moving cars and “surf.” This is reckless behavior at the least. At the most, it can be deadly.

Many bad habits have to do with driving a car. People often forget how potentially dangerous driving can be if it is not done with caution. They drive so often that they become accustomed to taking the wheel without thinking. This leads to a number of dangerous situations.

Some people have bad habits of grooming themselves when driving. Women might put on make-up while driving. They believe that they can apply mascara and watch the road at the same time. It may work out for a long time, and then eventually there comes that time when they are not concentrating on the road enough and an accident happens.

The same can happen when men shave while driving. Or, it can happen when men or women groom their hair. Other bad habits include the way people use their cell phones when they drive. Sometimes people are so keyed in on their cell phones that they do not see the car in front of them.

Driving through high flood waters can be a very bad habit. People think they can get through the water and make it to the other side. If it happens often enough, they may get braver and braver. However, if they go too far, their vehicle could be swept away. It could lead to a very dangerous situation.

Drinking and driving is the ultimate in bad habits. If you do this, you are not only putting yourself at risk. You do not even know who else you might be endangering. It could be an infant, an elderly person, or a single parent. It could be someone just like you. You could kill them or make their lives a lasting misery. This is not a bad habit that you can let stand.

If you engage in dangerous bad habits, you have to ask yourself why you do it. There must be something you can do to curb your desire to put yourself and others at risk. Find out what that is, and do it.

Week 2 the teens get more responsibilities, lol. One starts work today and the other becomes a stay at home parent. Alecia is still not helping with the baby after her run in with the mother, so she has decided to go to work. Kelsey is all of a sudden “sick” which forces Sean to stay home on his first day of work, further proving his point, lol. Austin will work at a pet store, Jordan at a veteranarian’s office, Daton Coffee Shop, Alecia at a Lumber yard. Kelsey seems to be already having a breakdown and is in need of a good pep talk…but it was good to hear that some sense has been knocked into her. Although Kelly was off to a rough start she has an amazingly good raporte with baby Zachary. Since Kelly is doing so well she offers Cory a bit of support when they take the kids to the park Cory experiences his first diaper change, lol. Cory and Alecia seem to be really getting a taste of reality, which is fabulous. Daton and Morgan seem to be finding a it hard to communicate but are remaining civil and doing well with the baby. After this experience I imagine some couples may break up. Alecia is completely selfish today she’s decided to stay at home because she didn’t want to go to work. Kelsey is has decided to be the bread winner and find a job, which seems to work out for her. While the workers go to work, they stay at homers go to baby gym to help the babies exercise and learn how to crawl or walk. On day 3 the couples get a surprise visit from their mother’s for 3 hours. While some were delighted to see a familiar face; Alecia’s mother speaks truths and we see a rift between Morgan and her mother. FINALLY the babies get to go home and the parents get to give their evaluation! Kelly and Austin got high marks, Morgan and Daton got words of wisdom, Sasha and Jordan also got high marks, while of course Cody and Alecia got a good tongue lashing and reality check, Kelsey and Sean got a reality check in realizing about their relationship and how ready they are for adult life while Kelsey fails Sean does surprisingly well. Next week should be interesting when the TODDLERS arrive, lol

What are some of your features about yourself? I happen to love my teeth, lol. Honestly besides my eyes it’s the next thing I get the most compliments on. I’ve often thought about trying to get into some toothpaste commercials. Dental hygiene is an extremely important thing and can often times effect your self esteem and can be a big reflection of how well you take care of yourself. I know when meeting others I look in their eyes and for their smile because they are influential parts of expression. Although not everyone is blessed with pearly whites, there are people who can help give you a prettier smile like Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist Dr. Maddahi. He has been working over 19 years to produce happy people with pretty smiles. Their dentist office is a well equipped and their website provides you with plenty of information about their services in addition to testimonials from happy customers. So if YOU are in the Beverly Hills area and looking for a healthy and gorgeous smile Dr. Maddahi is the guy for you.
