Why do people prefer to talk to total strangers on line than the people physically around them?

A million things to say, a sleepy mind, a broken back and suddenly I found myself at home, doing nothing else but thinking of my life, my choices, the people I consider my own, my friends, family, ex boyfriends... people who have touched my life in a good or bad way...

I always had the need to write. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. I just have the need to put my thoughts and emotions on paper- or something like that... For years I was writing down everything, but never showed anyone anything. I really hate to be criticized, not for the quality of my writing, but the quality of my thoughts and emotions.

For the past two years that I have been talking to people around the earth, I realised that writing is my thing, what makes me feel good, what eases my feelings towards the world... After going through a minor sickness, I thought of my priorities and my dreams. What I need and what it is that I want. Writing was on top of my list. I never tried to show anyone what my efforts on that, probably because I know the people around me, better than they think.

Nine months ago, I met someone on line, with whom I developed a strange relation. Nothing romantic or any of that kind, I consider him to be my brother, as he thinks of me as his sister. With his encouragement I started this blog, one step closer to what I wanted. He liked the way I was writing to him through my emails, he could get the feeling I wanted him to get. Simple as that. One day, he popped the idea of putting my thought out publicly, he even insisted when I refused, till finally he convinced me. Since then, I even tried my luck with articles and it's a slow process as I am a beginner, but it goes surprisingly better than I thought.

While I was waiting for my first article to be published or not-which it did- I decided it was time to tell my best friends about it. I didn't expect much from them, let's face it if I did expect a warm reaction I would have told them sooner, but what I got was by far the most lousy thing to do to someone you claim you care about. Absolutely no support, no feeling about it rather I was asked why do I try to do stuff like that? Why do I have the need to try and be something else from what I am. I have to note here, that this was the reaction of one of them and that she has never read anything I wrote, even though I gave her one piece. The rest of my friends where a bit warmer, but still haven't read a single thing, or even if they have they never told me what they thought. I do know though, that what I gave them to read has been published. So it must have been a bit good, at least up to a level.

When the people around you doom you with their reactions, or with the lack of interest about your needs or tries, why wouldn't you talk to total strangers about the things that bother you?

When you meet no support from your real life friends, why wouldn't you turn to people you have never met, yet they are nicer and more thoughtful?

I am not saying that this type of relations always last or that if you were actually neighbours things would be the same, but even if the person behind the emails is not who you really think, don't you get something in return? The strength to follow your dreams, the hope that there are people caring about you?

Anyone can give you an advice on something, but the ones who know you the best are supposed to help you grab on, so that you don't fall. Unfortunately, today most people try to be the ones who will throw you over the cliff. When did our life get so meaningless that ones doom is the reason to be happy?

Not everyone has huge dreams about their lives, but is it really a protective reaction not to let your friends fly to the sky? No risk, no gain. No gain, no pain. Life is too short to spend it fearing your own shadow. But you need people to hold you both when you fly and when you crash. I treasure the most the ones who hold my hand dearly when I dream. And the people who have done that are people I met on line. Maybe I will never actually meet them, maybe after a year things won't be the same between us, but they are the ones really listening and really allowing me to lean on them when I need it the most.

You probably say you hate what is fake, and you tell people about that whenever you can. But are you faking that dislike -- meaning you do nothing in life to avoid being inauthentic yourself -- or do you live authenticity? When you look around, what do you look around for? I do not think that it is possible to value authenticity without valuing it as the highest thing in the world, so that would be a good thing to measure - if, when you are with people or in any other situation, you notice petty bullshit things and get worked up over THEM, as opposed to notice the behaviors that people have that destroy their own and those around's lives by them being inauthentic, then you truly are not living authenticity. I can say that much.

I said that you cannot care about authenticity without having it as the most important value of all, and I actually mean that. But it does in fact encapsulate a few oither very important values in itself. It is honesty, right - so honesty with your own, and other people's, potential is part of it. When you are real, you realize that there is love between all people - so unconditional love is in there as well.

By the way... if you started reading this text without caring at all about authenticity, I understand you. All it takes for you to more or less HAVE to have that mindset is to watch tv all day without thinking critically. Nothing on tv says that you will have the most awesome, deep and profound feelings of happiness when you are interacting on an authentic level with people - so you have not experienced that for a while or so -- or, maybe you have, but since you are being drowned in ads that, on the surface, says bullshit wins your focus is on the bullshit as opposed to the authenticity. Am I making sense?

In the title I did mention that you should spot everything fake around you, and that is your little mission for the upcoming weeks -- if you have a habit of watching tv all the time, fine, but do concentrate on what you see in the people's eyes on TV that is real - because you will find it. Learn to disregard what is fake. By doing this you will see that, however fake people appear at the surface, their eyes always tells the truth anyway, and you will learn to disregard the fake and look for the real in people - something you can use on people around you to bring out what is real in them!

Sun into Cancer 2010: Tidal Waves of Love & Light

In the film's final scene, the ashes of Francesca Johnson waft elegantly off a covered wooden bridge while Meryl Streep tenderly reads those perspicacious words to her character's grown son and daughter. The story is about a mother's devotion to her family and the eternity of true love. Richly emotional, these themes are fitting ones for the Sun's entrance into watery, maternal Cancer. On June 21st at 4:29 A.M. PST the Sun enters this passionate, moon-ruled sign and thus activates this summer's greatly anticipated Grand Cross. Intuition, What's That?

Being Intuitive or psychic for a few is a coveted dream and for some other few it could be a scary thing. For the ones who are quite aware and are not only gifted but are also perseverant about their abilities, it is a coveted dream come true, as they always longed for it. It is scary for those who think of being psychic, having intuition etc is some mumbo jumbo and in case it is true then it according to them must have been relating to some black magic.

It's time that we all should be aware that Intuition is a little beyond the usual five senses – touch, smell, taste, vision, and hearing. In that sense, we could term it as a sixth sense or as some call it Extra Sensory Perception (ESP). Let's understand what this Intuition is then all about......

Intuition as the Webster's Dictionary defines it, is "The immediate knowing or learning of something without the conscious use of reasoning, instantaneous apperception."

Every human being has this sixth sense to at least some extent. It can be developed and practised and has enormous potential to change human life for better. It operates without the earthly limitations of time and space. Many great scientists, authors, actors, artists, and many successful businessmen have been using the intuition and followed the direction and or solutions that travel through it, extensively for their benefit and for the benefit of the mankind.

In order to facilitate the intuition, we must have a calm and clear mind, open for subliminal perceptions. Love is a feeling. We love our parents, siblings, friends, pets, nature etc. If we want something , it doesn't mean that we have love for that thing. Our want is mere a need at that point of time. Love is above all wants & needs. Origin of love is from deepest caverns of our heart & it flows till eternity & makes you dive deep in "Sea of Tranquility". It is a wrong perception that mere feeling of love makes your brain cells stimulated & gives you feeling of butterflies in stomach.It is lust . Love is something which gives you soothing & soggy effect.

Humans always give priority to what they feel or see (senses).People don't walk with consciousness. If we make relation in consciousness,in deepest and in purest thoughts then no one will feel bad or sad for anyone because than people will be able to realize that you and me are one- no matter we meet physically or not

Another name of pure love is "Platonic Love". It was given by Greek philosopher Plato-real name Aristocles.Platonic love is a divine love.There is no physical contact or sexual desires among people in real/ platonic love. They can feel each other even at a distance of 1000 miles. This is pure love.Love tarnscends time.A person having pure feelings of love is like a physiognomist. SATURN – THE MYSTIC PLANET

1) Saturn some call it a planet of destiny and others name it as a mystic planet, governs sub-statically the life of individuals as well as of nations. In the Zodiac, Saturn owns two signs i.e. Capricorn and Aquarius-both permanently adjacent to each other. Thus the Saturn governs 1/6th of the population. Not only that, the aspects of Saturn in Hindu astrology are well known Saturn aspected, 3rd , 7th and 10th house from its placement and if the aspects are taken into consideration it would embrace and effect the life of 5/12 of the people. Thus in its circle of Maha-dasha, Antra-dasha and in Sukkhsma the planet of destiny has a major role to play and it at times becomes the killer.

2) Capricorn is moveable sign and even direction wise it is stated to represent south. Whereas Aquarius is fixed sign, being odd is fierce in nature and represents the west direction. Saturn exalts in the sign of Libra owned by Venus and its fall (debilitation) is an Aries owned by Mars. Saturn own Nakshtra – Pushayami Anuradha and Uttata-Bhadrapad. The period of each Nakshtra had been taken to be 6 years and 4th months thus totaling to the full period of 19 years allotted to Saturn in Vimshortri Dasha System.

3) The moon has been considered to be detrimental to Capricorn. Mars is exalted in Capricorn and Jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn. Feminine in nature, it is considered to be fruitful sign but earthy. As part of the body, it represents knees. The natives are normally prudent. The Nakshtras falling in Capricorn are Uttarashada (3) Sarvana (4) and Dhanishta (2) see the associations and mingling of various planets in Capricorn and thy have to be taken into consideration fro interpretative astrology.

4) Similarly, the role of various planets/Nakshtras is well interwove even in the other sign owned by Saturn i.e. Aquarius. The detrimental planet has been considered to be the Sun. Masculine is nature but it is considered to be a barren sign. Though fixed and Airy but the native is positive in thinking whereas Capricorn has been ranked ‘negative'. With reference to part of the body, it represents legs. Though malefic in nature it believes in fellowship. Nakshtras falling in Aquarius are Dhanishta (2), Satbhisha (4), and Purva-Bhdara (3).

5) Saturn is considered to be combust (Ast. In Hindi) when it is at 15 degrees from either side of the Sun. Saturn is friend of Venus, Mercury and Rahu, enemy of the Sun, the Moon and Mars. It is neutral with regard to Jupiter.

6) Rahu does not own any of the houses in the horoscope but it owns Nakshtras as is the case with other planets. This node (Rahu) has been equated with Saturn under the known quotation ‘Sani Vat Rahu, Kuja Vat Ketu'- Rahu also acts as Saturn. Both have separative effects taking the native from attachment to detachment indicating the mystic nature. It’s just another day at The Armory in San Francisco: A bound and naked woman is laid out on a stylish serving table. Elegantly-dressed people of both sexes gather around—enjoying the view, apparently—and take turns having their way with her. Various devices are deployed—dildos, floggers, electrical stimulators. She says “Thank you, sir” and “Thank you, madam” frequently.

Welcome to "The Upper Floor," a high-definition Internet reality show where, website copy states, “real submissive women and real submissive men become house slaves to be dominated, trained, punished, spanked, whipped, and fucked … Inspired by the legendary French BDSM erotic novel The Story of O, The Upper Floor illustrates real lifestyle BDSM as it is lived by 24/7 slaves and Masters, complete with … explicit sex in bondage, punishment, erotic humiliation, and more.”

The Upper Floor is a project of Kink.com, a thriving pornography business that was founded by Peter Acworth, a British-born entrepreneur and lifelong aficionado of BDSM (for Bondage, Domination, Submission—or Sadism—and Masochism). Kink.com sells subscriptions to websites with names like Hogtied.com, SexandSubmission.com and, yes, TheUpperFloor.com. Acworth often attends these, er, corporate events. “He’s the master of the house,” says colleague John Sander.

Only in Satan’s City by the Bay, right? Not exactly. Acworth was recently invited to speak at a summit on innovation convened by the ever-so-respectable The Economist. That’s right—the king of kink was given a place on the dais alongside a Harvard Business School professor, an Intuit business executive and other decent folk. Whether you view this as the end of civilization or a sign of progress, one thing is sure: a barrier has come down.

BDSM is all over our entertainment media, too. In her latest music video, Christina Aguilera slaps a riding crop against her palm, laps from a cat dish, and sports a rhinestone-studded ball gag. In movies like the 2005 comedy hit The Wedding Crashers and television shows like the self-consciously low-brow mockumentary RENO 911!, kinky scenes are played for laughs.

The lesson, kiddies? BDSM, once viewed as the exclusive fiefdom of really creepy perverts, has crossed over and become quasi-respectable, stylish and safe. Comical, even!

The shifting public perception of BDSM is one of those seeming overnight changes that was centuries in the making. In the late 18th Century, the Marquis de Sade put his profoundly sick-puppy stamp on kink, firmly establishing it as sex play (sex pain, really) between non-consenting adults. A hundred years later, when psychologists started studying this behavior, they found their subjects in insane asylums. “Criminals were their point of reference,” says Denver-based sex therapist Neil Cannon. No wonder, then, that BDSM meant a brute in a basement with an unwilling woman and a whip.

That’s not what healthy kink is about—not by a long shot. “Safe, sane and consensual” is the prevailing community standard. Although Ernest Greene, the executive editor of Larry Flynt’s Taboo magazine and a long-time leader in the BDSM community, has a “quibble” about the phrase—“Is it really sane to wear latex in July?”—the basic point remains. Kink done right is about sexual power games played out in circumstances that make it safe for everyone. And it’s done right by almost all practitioners.

The public perception of kink is shifting to match the reality. More and more people are coming to see your typical BDSM practitioner as the man or woman next door who enjoys consensual role-play along with, maybe, a dollop of pain on the side (or elsewhere).

It’s the more accurate view, according to sex therapist Cannon. “While every group has its outliers, kinky people tend to be well-adjusted and emotionally stable,” he says. “These are healthy, high-functioning people.”

Taboo’s Ernest Greene agrees. “Most of the people who are into kink use it as a way to enhance conventional sexual practices,” he says. “It’s not all that different from what other people do. There’s a little bit of bondage, a little bit of spanking, and then fucking.”

Our entertainment culture’s fascination with BDSM isn’t new. Early references tended to be very indirect, though. “Emma Peel’s catsuit in the television show The Avengers, back in the 1960s, is a perfect example of what would now be viewed as fetish garb,” says Carol Queen, staff sexologist and chief cultural officer for Good Vibrations, a chain of sexuality boutiques. Other benchmarks along the way include Sex, Madonna’s 1992 made-to-shock coffee-table book, the 1994 bomb Exit to Eden, in which Rosie O’Donnell garnered a RAZZIE nomination for her role as a dominatrix, and the 2002 BDSM-themed indie movie Secretary with Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader. “Secretary had an impact because sweet Maggie Gyllenhaal was in it,’” says Queen. “Everyone expects James Spader to be kinky.”

There’s a predictable pattern to how movies treat people whose sexual behavior is out of the mainstream. “Gays’ emergence from the closet traced a clear narrative arc,” says Queen. “Early on, gay protagonists pay a price for their sexuality. Something bad happens. They die or lose a loved one. And then, as their behavior becomes more culturally acceptable, they get to have a happy ending.”

In Secretary, submissive Maggie and dominant James get married. In The Wedding Crashers, too, “The kinky girl gets the guy,” notes Queen. Which suggests that in addition to being out of the dungeon, BDSM is out of the ‘you’ll be punished for your sins’ phase, too.

It’s not just Hollywood that’s seeing kink differently. So are professional psychologists. “Things are in a positive transition here,” says Neil Cannon. “Most sex therapists don’t pathologize BDSM behavior unless it’s having a negative impact on the patient.”

There are still some judgmental apples in the barrel, though. “A great deal depends on the therapist’s professional and religious training,” continues Cannon. “I was at a cocktail party recently and a psychologist said to me, ‘All kinky people are sick.’ When I asked how she came to that conclusion, she said, ‘I just know.’ I’ve had clients come to me because they’d been seeing a therapist who told them they were sick.”

The shifting take on BSDM will be reflected in the next edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the psychiatric community’s diagnostic bible. DSM-IV, which was published in 1992, defined kinky behavior as a “paraphilia,” a fancy word for any path to sexual arousal that’s not standard foreplay. The language of DSM-IV “is unclear and sometimes contradictory about whether a paraphilia is a disorder,” says Susan Wright, spokesperson for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF), an advocacy group for the BDSM, swing and polyamory communities. Although the language hasn’t been finalized, it’s looking as if DSM-V, which will be published in 2013, will make it clear that a person can be kinky without having a disorder.

BDSM is making the transition from creepy to okay for lots of reasons, starting with all the kinky people who are out there. The statistical studies are all over the place, according to Wright, ranging from a relatively modest 5% of the population to a whopping (or is it whipping?) 50%. It’s totally understandable if this range inspires skepticism, and in fact, research in this area is fraught with difficulties. It’s hard to get funding for this sort of study, and it’s also the case that people resist telling the truth about their bedroom behavior. There are definitional issues, too. If you ever smacked your partner on the behind (and liked it), does that make you kinky? But even if we practice safe statistics and go with the most conservative estimate, that’s still 5% of the populace—a sizable number by any measure. “On any given day,” says Taboo magazine’s Ernest Greene, “one million people are looking at or engaging in kink.”

Another reason for BDSM’s emergence is that more and more kinky people are willing to go public, or at least semi-public, with their activities. Every reasonably-sized city has its own kinky community whose members get together for discussion groups and barbeques as well as more risqué activities. There are also lots of online networks. When last checked, FetLife.com, the leading website for the BDSM community, ranked an impressive 6,061 on Alexa.com’s ratings of website traffic.

Where’s there sexual smoke, there’s also activist fire. Kinky people are a sexual minority. Organizations like the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom are working to raise people’s consciousness about BDSM. Their efforts are making a difference, in no small measure by helping kinky people feel supported and empowered.

Yet another reason why kink is making inroads is its peculiarly culture-friendly personality. It gives great image and still has shock value, qualities that make it a superb way to attract attention—just ask Christina Aguilera! With its historical link to the Marquis de Sade, BDSM is also kind of scary—another cultural winner. We’re collectively obsessed with the bogeyman under the bed—just think how much money we spend on horror movies! But kink, unlike Freddy Krueger, is also sorta funny. Who wouldn’t agree that there’s something inherently ludicrous about a naked person crawling about on all fours, barking? Scary, edgy, silly—it’s a perfect combination for a culture that hungers for an adrenaline rush yet also needs to feel safe.

And then there’s the ubiquitous Web. Says Peter Acworth, “Where it used to be hard for someone to get information about alternative sexual lifestyles, the Internet now makes it very easy.”

Speaking of Acworth, another contributor to the mainstreaming of BDSM is pornography, which is readily accessible on the Net—and increasingly kink-friendly. Sexologist Queen reports, “When I went to the AVN (Adult Video News) convention earlier this year, I was struck by how many of the clips included choking. Inevitably, some people who see these images will try it for themselves. This isn’t necessarily a good thing, because it’s something you have to learn to do safely. Still, it’s an example of a kinky practice that because of porn is becoming more vanilla.”

Ernest Greene, who in addition to his involvement with Taboo magazine produces kink-themed movies, concurs. “The legal barrier that used to keep people in the porn industry from showing BDSM has come down,” he says. “If you present kink as non-consensual, that’s a problem, but if you frame it in the context in which it belongs, as sex play between consenting adults with no actual injury, it’s totally defensible.”

In films with names like O—The Power of Submission, The Surrender of O and The Perfect Secretary Training Day, Greene depicts bondage with penetration. “We don’t have a problem with this because our performers are visibly enjoying it. These movies are big sellers, and they’re accepted everywhere. One of our main distributors, Adam & Eve, couldn’t be more conservative and markets to people in red states, where the films get great reviews.”

Where is all this headed? “Eventually,” says Greene, “we’ll reach a point where bondage in a porn movie is no more controversial than a blow job.”

No discussion of kinky porn would be complete without the academia-to-riches story of Kink.com’s Peter Acworth. In 1997, he was studying for a Ph.D. in finance at Columbia University when he happened on an article about a fireman who was making scads of money, in the words of the headline, “pushing Internet filth.” In that moment, Acworth reports, “It was suddenly clear to me that the Internet was not a gimmick, but rather a platform for genuine business and that it was going to be enormous. I realized that finance had become saturated with researchers and that the Internet was relatively untapped and under-developed. I was in the wrong field.”

Thus was Kink.com born. Thirteen years later, it has about 100 employees and is producing an estimated $30 million in annual revenue. “Peter Acworth,” declares Carol Queen, “is the Hugh Hefner of the 21st Century.”

The parallels are unmistakable. Hefner has his Playboy Mansion. Acworth bought the San Francisco Armory, a 200,000 square foot edifice in San Francisco’s Mission District that’s on the National Register of Historic Places, to house his corporate headquarters. Hef reframed our culture’s take on sexuality. Acworth is doing the same for kink, only without the sexism.

Acworth is totally committed to promoting BDSM’s consensual-sex ethos. “We go out of our way to make it clear that we are depicting play,” he says. “Each movie includes a before and after interview with the participants in order to show that the activities are negotiated and are for the enjoyment of all participants (not just the guy). In the absence of such an introduction, we feel that the activities could be misinterpreted by some people who are not used to seeing such material.”

Make no mistake about it: people tune into Kink.com to get turned on. Still, in its so-not-PBS way, it also provides a form of public education.

To be sure, it’s not all sunshine and floggers for BDSM practitioners. Discrimination and violence remain harsh realities. In a 2008 survey, the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom found that 38% of people who self-identify as kinky reported being harassed, discriminated against, or treated violently against their will. In part, says NCSF spokesperson Susan Wright, “This is because the more visible we get, the more backlash we get, too.”

A BDSM community member who blogs under the name Taw Preston fell victim to this discrimination. A Texas resident, he and his wife wanted to adopt two foster children. They were model parents, carefully keeping their sex play behind closed doors. Everything was going smoothly until, reports Preston, a Child Protective Services investigator “who was plainly an evangelical” tried to pull the plug on the adoption. The sole reason: their kinky lifestyle. For a time the children were removed from the Preston home. Two high-priced lawyers later, the kids were out of custody and the adoption went through. The ending isn’t entirely happy, though. Because it was either pay the lawyers or pay the mortgage, Preston is declaring bankruptcy and his family is losing their home.

It’s not only the family values crowd that has a problem with kink. Some feminists do, too. For them it’s like porn gone bad—which makes it doubly despicable, since standard-issue porn is seen as already degrading to women. People of this ideological stripe, reports Ernest Greene, are convinced that “no one could legitimately consent to this sort of activity. They believe submissive women are ‘re-enacting a patriarchal script.’”

Greene, who’s married to the porn star and ‘out’ submissive Nina Hartley, finds this framing laughable. “Nina is an extremely strong and independent personality,” he says. “She is submissive only when we engage in dominant/submissive role-play for sexual purposes. We do this by mutual choice within negotiated limits as an expression of our sexual creativity and a way of realizing our fantasies. It has zero impact on the structure of our relationship outside its erotic context.”

Kinkiness appears to be wired very early and not susceptible to change. “From a very young age, I knew this was my sexual identity,” says Ernest Greene. “Bondage fascinated me.” Similarly for Peter Acworth, who in 2007 told The New York Times that as a child, he “would get an erection while watching a cowboy-and-Indian movie where somebody was getting tied up.”

You’d think that building an empire out of that turn-on would make him a pariah, right? Maybe back when, but no longer. For proof of this, we need go back no further than last March, when Acworth spoke at The Economist’s innovation summit.

Just imagine: Kink.com—whips, slave-games and all—treated as another leading-edge (or is it ‘cutting-edge?’) business! Twenty years ago, Kink.com would have been a Great Unmentionable in decent circles—and inviting its ‘porntrepreneur’ CEO to address a mainstream business gathering would have been utterly unthinkable.

And today? Wherever you go, there it is. Kink is in our movie theaters, on our TV sets, and all over the Internet. It’s in our communities and, for all you know, in the bedroom of the folks next door.

Hey, it’s even in our supermarkets! Here’s a recent scene from the deli section at the local Hannaford’s (and no, it’s not that kind of scene).

A woman is waiting on a customer. A co-worker comes out of the back room. He’s putting on his apron. “Sorry I’m late,” he says. “Don’t beat me.”

“C’mon,” his colleague says, “you know you love it.”

Right there, alongside the boiled ham and potato salad.

BDSM has come out of the dungeon and entered—smack!— into our lives.

How To Live A Better Life

One of the beauties of life is that it is never to late and there is always in some way the chance, or possibility to change, improve, or transform a situation, or circumstance. Hopelessly optimistic you might be thinking, but no, so far as we have breath and life we can learn from our mistakes, learn and move on.

Clearly the personal circumstances of each one of us is unique and distinct just as each one of us is absolutely unique and distinct, this is in fact one the many wonders of life. There are untold millions of people living on this planet and we are each one of us as valid as the next, our individual circumstances are irrelevant.

Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief, our personal circumstances are in many ways dictated by birth and the circumstances into which we are born, but in the cosmic scale of things this is actually unimportant. Was Jesus Christ not born into a homeless family? None of these circumstances should limit us, or prevent us from searching for our individual potential.

There is a phrase in the west "hope springs eternal" and each moment is an opportunity to learn from our mistakes and move on and learn, we simply have to be open to whatever may come our way.

It is very easy to think that the rich and the famous have an easier life than others, materially this is undoubtedly true, but they suffer the same insecurities, doubts and fears as the we all do. How often have you read of the forth, fifth, or sixth marriage of someone in the public eye. Do you think that this new marriage will fair better than the previous ones?

How to achieve such a positive outlook in life and actually learn from our mistakes? We need too find our own objectivity and impartiality, try if you like to view ourselves as another would see us. Is it not true that we often see the mistakes and errors of others quite clearly, but are unable to see our own?

The human condition is that we live our lives from a presumption, or even worse a standpoint of ignorance that takes the life we have as a presumed given and this is our collective mistake. We did not create ourselves and neither do we in reality sustain the life we have, so what I am trying to suggest here is that our starting, or reference point, the very foundation from which we live our lives is actually wrong. It is as if the road map from which each of us is living does not actually show us a starting point, that we do not actually know where we are! We need a new and better map!

To achieve an objectivity and perception of ourselves and the life we are leading we actually have to find a way to step aside from ourselves. How to do that? If we can accept that there is a river, or flow, of which we are part we are halfway there. The next step is to find a way to plug into that river, or flow.

Throughout the history of mankind there have been messengers that have tried to promote this reality and with all due respect to Christians worldwide Jesus Christ has been one of many, but this is unimportant in the cosmic scale of things, more important is the fact that we collectively find it very difficult to make that leap from our own self created reality to the greater reality from which we exist, why do we find it so difficult? Possibly because to experience this reality we need to leave behind so much of what we believe ourselves to be, our concepts, ego and the baggage we each of us accumulate on our journey through life. In many ways we have to abandon that which we think we are.

Could it be that so many of the problems facing mankind right now stem from our self imposed separation from that flow? Could this be the reason that we have until now lived completely out of harmony with planet earth?

There exists for each one of us the possibility of transforming our individual lives and to realise are full glorious potential and this is a possibility for each and every human being irrespective of race, or personal circumstance.

Through life experience, the ego develops tools for navigating in the material world. But the human soul never ages nor does it care about worldly conditions.

The soul's sense of freedom, coupled with the worldly tools we develop through life experience, presents the unique opportunity for us humans to actively participate in the fulfillment of our desires. However, as we learn about the material world, we also come to believe in the illusion of separation.

In illusion, we experience emotions that we cannot release because we are not aware that the underlying thoughts are untrue. Because life experience has caused many of us to forget who we are, fear permeates our thought process, and instead of feeling more freedom as we age physically - we create bondage for ourselves in our own minds.

But the spirit does not change. It knows complete freedom and unbounded Joy just like we did as very young children. The soul always yearns for new experiences, but most of us deny it as we continue with the habits that define and protect the self image created by our egos.

As we continue to deny the voice of spirit, the ego must become more of a master in our lives. While the ego can be very capable and well endowed with material abilities and talents, it is also very limited by what it knows to be true from memory and emotion.

When we live from ego, we feel trapped by our circumstances and bound to the life we have created. Moreover, with the ego as master, we quickly begin to feel the restrictions of physical age.

Eventually it becomes commonplace to tell ourselves that we are "too old" when we hear the subtle call of spirit to create something new. Because our bodies follow our thoughts, we create dis-ease and discomfort in our bodies as we age physically.

But the soul never ages, and it is intricately connected to the Divine source of infinite possibilities and Love. Whatever the soul wants to do, it can do! It only requires a physical body and brain that is receptive to all possibilities.

The soul is always calling the ego, like an innocent child asking if it may be, do and have what it desires. Every time we say "no" with thoughts of restriction or unworthiness, we suppress the only part of us that is real.

But we can reunite with our innocent childlike soul in any moment. All we have to do is allow our thoughts to follow our spirit as we delight in every desire that crosses our awareness.

Lay down your mental resistance, and allow your thoughts to follow your wildest dreams. Trust that your desires will be fulfilled in perfect time, and you will know your call to action because it feels every bit as Joyful as the thoughts that have prepared you for the moment at hand.

Irrespective of physical age, integrate your ego with the ageless spirit that you have always been and live your potential now.

Love and Hate

True Unconditional Love contains no opposite, and views everything as perfect given all thought that came before. Humans have been given a unique vantage point whereby we are commanding creation with the thought-based feelings we choose to follow.

Emotional love and hate are two opposites of the same energetic pattern. While both are emotional responses to life circumstances, one creates a happy feeling in the body and mind, while the other causes discomfort or pain in the body and mind.

These emotions attract one another along with their corresponding circumstances, and unless we find balance and Joy, our emotional extremes amplify as they continue to create more conflict for ourselves.

Mental and physical conflict is the cause of all dis-ease and deprivation because like attracts like and draws onto itself. It is a fundamental law of the Universe.

Many of us believe that in order to effectuate positive change in the world, we must hate that which has already been created in order to motivate our will.

But our will only follows our energy, and hateful energy can never heal because it is not a vibratory match to healing energy. When we are in the emotion of hate without self-awareness, we labor in vain as we unconsciously create more of what we are hating.

Likewise, when in the emotion of love, we tend to attach ourselves to whatever we are loving, which creates resistance to its opposite. That resistant energy is what keeps our emotions and life circumstances directed away from our true desires.

Notwithstanding the consequences, there is no benefit to condemning our own hateful or resistant feelings. Every feeling is instructional as to how resonant or dissonant our egocentric mind is in relation to our true essence. From there, we choose whether to continue with ill feelings (including self-judgment) and create more of the same, or return to Unconditional Love and knowledge that our deepest desires will be fulfilled.

When we perceive the world through Unconditional Love, we are creating our reality according to the part of Self that endures forever – and that benefits everything.

Emotions are our guide to creating through Love. When our ego self is unified with our enduring Self, we feel peace, unity, appreciation and Love for everything in creation.

In appreciation of all things that have already been created, our desires command the blessings that can transform our world. Let your sword and shield be Unconditional Love and heal the world by your very presence in it.

Key to a Purpose Driven Life

Often it is true that the simple things are both the best things and also the things we seem to avoid or ‘not have time for'.

Here is what I do personally with great success, and also some very special and important tips that reveal why such personal time thinking sessions often do not work for people.

A 10 Minute Purpose Driven Life Focus Session is one of those magical things that when done regularly can prove miraculous at improving the quality, enjoyment, and effectiveness of our day; a genuine key to your purpose driven life.

It's important to keep it simple, but to maintain awareness of its importance. That helps us to do it regularly as we are not worried so much about ‘doing it right' yet still able to recognize that it is a very significant thing to do in some form.

The essence of a Purpose Driven Life Focus Session is to write thoughts down.

A purpose driven life comes out of a regularly updated mindfulness and clarity of your thoughts, responsibilities, projects, hurdles, and desires.

It's actually not so important to write anything in particular as it is to simply write something, whatever comes up, and trusting yourself and making space for your self to explore whatever ideas press onto your awareness.

You may reflect on your state of emotions. You may write down the pressing matters that you need to attend to. You may simply jot down some fantasy imaginations of something you are looking forward to. You may write down your current thoughts on achieving a purpose driven life as you see it at the time.

I want to stress in this article that what is important is just to do something, almost anything, that requires writing down on paper or typing on computer, some personal thoughts.

Doing so awakens and connects the whole mind.

My own sessions have now molded into a flexible structure of reviewing the larger and more important things in my life, then considering my current projects, then visualizing myself performing well throughout the day, then getting in touch with positive emotions.

TIPS FOR YOUR SESSION

Here are some tips that help my clients understand and maintain a regular 10 minute ‘purpose driven life' focus session.

DON'T feel guilty if you do not do the 10 Minute Purpose Driven Life Focus Session every day. The point of the exercise is to help put you in a resourceful state to help improve your day.

Often it will happen that you do not feel high energy about doing a focusing session. Some might say that it is those times when you really need to do it. I think you have to honestly decide that for yourself, as it's not worth saying to yourself that you 'should' do it ('shoulding' all over yourself) and then not doing it, and then feeling guilty, and then blanking out your awareness of it, and then get further into a rut - do you relate?

Give yourself permission day to day to do whatever you feel gives you more energy and productivity. Don't take me or anyone else as knowing better than you what's best. "Question everything" - Socrates

Sometimes you will want to jump out of bed and get on with things right away. If you're already either on a tight deadline or on fire with commitment for your projects then it's not necessary to do the 10 minute focus.

Sometimes you will feel like spending more or less time, perhaps filling most of the 10 minutes or even more time than that, on a specific area or an emotionally empowering visualisation.

It's important to use the 10 minute review as BOTH an intellectual exercise, as well as an emotionally involved exercise. A purpose driven life combines rational decision making with emotional connectedness. Without mindfulness of how they fit together for you personally you can not live a purpose driven life.

Don't expect that you should feel turned on and bubbling over with enthusiasm after your 10 minute focus sessions. That is a false expectation that gets people depressed because they think 'whats wrong with me why don't I feel all excited and filled with joy whilst I'm cooking dinner or checking my emails?' Emotions go up and down so accept wherever they are at any time as you focus on your projects and responsibilities.

Positive Encounters Can Bring About A Little Jolt of Joy

I was recently interviewed on World Talk Radio, American Dreams: The Sky is the Limit.

I had not been feeling that well earlier in the day, and I also had some concerns about the phone working properly. However, once I started chatting with the hosts, Jin Robertson and her daughter, Jasmin, I perked up.

Optimistic and caring people have a positive effect on me. And of course pessimistic and selfish folks have a depleting effect. After the interview I was able to go for a two-hour walk and enjoy all the beauty around me.

Prior to the interview I was feeling sluggish and a tad crabby. I may be the writer of a self-help book, but that doesn't mean I'm always skipping merrily through the park. After all, having an optimistic viewpoint does not make you immune to difficulties, it just provides a more creative way to solve them.

It reminds me of the interview I had with Author, Kimberly Kingsley, who is featured in our book, Erase Negativity and Embrace the Magic Within. Kimberly is an energy coach who has learned about the importance of energy and its function in life. She observed that when she, or others she knew, supported their life energy and allowed it to flow, good things resulted. When people resist and block, or constrict the flow, they become physically or emotionally sick or depressed.

In my case, I had been concerned about a clicking noise in the phone. I was out of state and did not have the option to use another landline other than the one supplied. Two calls went out to a technician to have the situation remedied. Some work was done, but it wasn't enough. The clicking in the phone continued, and so did my stress. I was almost hoping the interview would be cancelled until I could return to Arizona.

In the end, the interview went on, I was uplifted by my banter with the two hosts, and I think the listeners gained some useful insights. And yes, the clicking noise was there, but I think the engineer took care of a lot of it.

The point is, it is best to do things that energize your spirit. This applies to work, friends, hobbies and everything else. The following is an excerpt from Erase Negativity and Embrace the Magic Within.

•Avoid working in a career where money is your only goal. If you are stuck in a job that brings no joy and drains you of your energy, find something more nourishing to your soul. Chances are you are feeling stuck, not because you have to be, but because you have decided you have to be.

•Be mindful of the energy exchange you experience with others. Remember that you cannot change others, you can only change yourself.

•Be open to the possibilities in life. Just because things have been difficult in the past does not mean they have to continue to be that way. Your determination and strong intent will move you in the direction you set forth.

•Find things that energize you and avoid those that constrict the energy in your heart, soul and mind. Pay attention to how you feel energetically.

•You are not your bank account, your car, or even your body. When you die, none of these transient things will go with you. Learn to love yourself. Know that you are divine and have unique gifts that only you can contribute to the world.

We make choices every day that help shape how we feel. Why not go with the ones that feed your soul? Perhaps one of them will be to listen to my interview on World Talk Radio (hint, hint). The Difference Between Restraining and Repressing

These two modes can look like the same thing from the outside, but originate in very different motives.

For resolving conflict, one of the things that I find to be very helpful is actually avoiding conflict to begin with. What that means is that I can choose not to get irritated. However, I am still a human and therefore sometimes that is impossible. From time to time, something comes up that makes me feel defensive, makes me want to retaliate, or makes me want to keep score. In these times, I find it very helpful to withhold speech at that moment.

Generally, if I'm coming from a place of defensiveness, i.e. wanting to retaliate or engage the flight-fight-or flee response, then I'm going to escalate the situation rather than do things that will contribute to an overall good outcome or any sort of resolution.

Restraining is different from repressing. When I restrain, I withhold speech, and I breathe, and I use my words as best that I can. It is like pressing a pause button on the situation. Sometimes if I'm in a heightened emotional state, the best I can do is to be as calm and gentle as possible and say, "Now isn't right time to speak about this. Can you give me some time? I'm very interested in speaking about this with you, but right now I don't feel like I'm fit emotionally."

This is language that I can use. That doesn't mean I always do. But there's a big difference between that restraint and sulking or being scornful of somebody and withdrawing.

Sometimes it needs to be shorthand like; "I'm on fire, not right now, please."

I can restrain, but I can do it in a loving way. It's great to set up these tools before the conflict arises and have some signal, like a gesture or a safety word that says, in a nutshell, "Please, just give me some time, and I'll get back to you on this." So you can have a particular wave. You can have a word that's completely out of context, like elephant, to simply say, "I need a break. This is getting too emotional. I need to withdraw for a moment or pull myself out of this situation, do some breathing. I might need to get back to you tonight. I might need to get back to you tomorrow." This is conveying emotion rather than acting on it. Use your safety word, don't abuse it. Don't belittle or demean it otherwise, it will become ineffective and no longer safe. If that happens, create a new one with a verbal agreement that this one will be protected.

This agreement is not limited to romantic relationships. It can be tailored for work, family, and friend situations.

Conversely, repressing is saying that everything's fine, both to my partner, and myself when things are not fine. Acting in that way does not serve anybody. It is a great way to harbor disease in the body. It's a great way to harbor resentment, which is a disease of our relationships. And it is a great way to simply have a very miserable life and not live to my utmost.

Repressing, again, is denying the feelings that I'm having, even though they are present, and they're affecting me; restraining is acknowledging that I'm having them, but not acting on them.

Your Assignment:

Can you press pause next time you feel the mercury rise? Can you return to the conflict in a loving way and solve it rather than punish or repress your emotions? Are you willing to take the risk of being real but from a place that is WIN/WIN?

Simple beauty is enough to attract a classy man. Look nice in your own way with light make up and a low-key hairstyle to accent your face to attract a decent suitor. Dress nice but be comfortable in what you choose to remain the same wonderful person you are so he can see that as well.

My Friend Lost his Virginity To A Midget

I know this sounds crazy and something that you would watch on comedy central, but I have a friend who just lost his virginity to a midget! I swear to God. My friend told us all about it and she told us about it too. Read more to learn the whole story.

My neighbor is a midget. She is under 4ft tall and has the condition known as dwarfism.

I will not disclose her name. My other friend is a drunken redneck. We always partied together.

One night she got drunk and called my buddy over to help her cook dinner because she was afraid that she might burn the house down. So he goes over to her house and starts cooking her dinner.

He gets drunk with her and after eating dinner he lays down on the couch and tells her that he is about to pass out. She then replied that he wasn't going to pass out on the couch but on her bed.

So he agrees and get's up to go lay down on her bed. She claimed that he spilt liquor on her shirt and she takes it off, then hops into bed with him. They start making out and she says to him screw me in the shower.

I swear, this is no lie. So he picks her up to carry her into the shower and drops her on the floor because he is so drunk.

They finally make it into the shower and start to make coitice. She then says choke me. He replied what!?

Then she backhanded him on the face and said to show her that he is a God&%$# man. He then freaked out and droped her, grabbed his clothes, and came back to my house and woke me up.

He told me the whole story. I didn't believe it at first, but she told me the story as well.

My Random Life...!!!

I so much need to write about us. But the repertoire of my piece seemed to have a word-deficiency I couldn't start what I want to say. I'm groping, and clumsily grasping for the right words to put into writing. My thoughts are unorganized, like the bed I left this morning - utterly disorder, thrown in total derangement, and typically agitated and chaotic.

Just like how my emotion works. Just like how I feel at this very moment as I try to verbalize my sentiments, dilemma and poignant distress. Just like this friendship I can see broken in the next few days, or months, perhaps years.

You are one of my great pals. And your friendship means a lot to me, more than you'll ever know. Laughing with you has been my comfort when I'm faced with all sorts of jitters, or when stress sucks the best of me. The jokes we've shared rejuvenates me when pressure at work calls. Under the moon and the stars, we dreamed together and wished a thousand times for the love of our life to be granted.

I felt that we talk just for the sake of speaking, though your eyes tell another thing. And I felt like a stranger. Like I have to exert so much effort to be rocognized by the crowd. Talk about paranoia. But then again, two is a crowd, as they say. I sternly walked away, hoping you would tag along behind me or at least notice my absence. I sure know it's not the basis of a great friendship bond. Yet, I am hurting.

Now, it's you and you; the only of you with your new friend, less myself. You have clicked so much, I was left behind. I simply faded.

How am I able to say that I'm hurting? How can I say that I hate seeing the two of you exchanging details with each other's update? Can I tell you that I could not bear it when I hear you laughing together, sharing a joke without me in the picture? Can I say that it pains me to know that you have trusted each other more, and me like a total stranger? Would you bother to look for me if I'm not around, or if it seems days has passed on without us seeing each other, considering that we are under one, same cold roof ? Would it be fair to you if I tell you that I have never known such jealousy until this sorry plight? No, I can't. I just can't.

I hope I am so wrong. Damn me for my oversensitivity. Damn the stupidity that has been my twin core. Damn this pride I treasure so much. Damn this jealous and self-centered that is me.

But I could not get myself to talk it out with you. I stayed silent, and waited for time to slap me hard and realize I am letting this little dispute ruin a great friendship. My egocentric predicament is eating me whole. I am perturbed and and flustered with dealing this. And I wanna go back to my old self, or I will forever be stuck in my own misery.

I want to talk just about anything I could think of. I want to make up stories, and laugh. I want to sleep, and wake up to find out I have someone I could share my dreams with. Or, rather I want to sleep, but actually not gotten any sleep because I have talked with someone in the wee hours of the night in bed until the morning lights. I want to go to work, and go home and tell the story of my day. I want to reminisce about things I have told a hundred times, and wonder why it is so much fun to retell tales of our mishaps and moments. I want to complain and blurt out the injustices of the world without hesitations, and sigh. I want to cry because I am happy, and smile because I am in pain. I want to be me again.

Having this said, let me understand my mistake clearly at my own risk. Let me grow in this foreign land alone. And let me face and hug this pain and loneliness by myself. I want to learn to let go. I want to accept the fact that not everything I want is served in a silver platter; and not all hurt and sorrow is mended by an unbridled friendship.

Time and distance is for me the best remedy to find the path back to my old self. With it, I would certainly forget and forgive myself from the most stupid mistake I have done in my life. Please do not think I am closing doors on you. I could not promise to be there when you feel like calling me, but for sure, my prayesr for you will go a long way. I wish to see you soon when time bids us free, and our hearts and soul completely healed and mended.
