The other ‘child theme’ I have done recently (as seen on my 30 day challenge blog) is ‘Babywu’ which is an adaptation of the popular one-column theme ‘Wu-Wei’ by Jeff Ngan. I liked Wu-Wei, but I wanted to make a few adjustments. I moved the menu, removed a few lines… overall I just simplified it a bit. It makes a great theme for the style of blog. I’ve uploaded Babywu to this site, and you can find it here. You use it like any normal WordPress theme, except you do need a copy of Wu-Wei in your wp-content/themes directory as well.

I have a little bit more work to do on Twenty3 before I release it. I want to make it very simple to edit and use, allowing the user to not only upload their own header and background in their WordPress admin menu, but also adding an easy menu to change the basic colour scheme, and add their own footer branding like I have.

Overall, I’m developing my minimalistic, almost ‘newspaper’ like style, and I’m very happy with the results. Stick around, there will be more awesomeness to come

I’ve also got it in ICNS version – iTunesicon.icns

The simplest way to change the icon (on a mac) is to go to iConvertIcons, upload the PNG, and then download the ‘hqx’ file that is output. It will save to your downloads as a ‘txt’ file. Drag that onto your desktop. Command+i to get the info of the hqx file, and command+i to get the info of your iTunes app (from your Applications folder). Then just copy the icon in the top left corner of the hqx file info, and paste it into the spot on the iTunes app info. (If you don’t know what I mean – here’s a pic…)

The slightly trickier but more comprehensive way of changing it is to change it within the application package.

To do that, you ctrl+click on iTunes in your Applications folder, and ‘show package contents’. Go to ‘Resources’ and scroll down until you find ‘iTunes.icns’ – the ugly iTunes 10 logo. Trash that. Put the copy of the iTunes 9 logo icns file on your desktop and rename it ‘iTunes.icns’ and then copy it into the ‘Resources’ folder. That should do the job

How to do it on Windows… I dunno. I seriously need to get Windows 7 so I can learn it, lol.
