Pidgin difficult login to yahoo messenger

A few days ago, I’ve been having difficulties when logging in to yahoo messenger with pidgin. After several hours of investigating and googling. It turns out that yahoo are changing their protocols. The temporary solutions is change the Pager Server to cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com or cs101.msg.mud.yahoo.com.

If you are using Ubuntu Linux, you can fix this problem by upgrade your pidgin installation to the newest version. The easiest is by try this solution.

Open the terminals, type this:

sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com \
    67265eb522bdd6b1c69e66ed7fb8bee0a1f196a8

. /etc/lsb-release

echo deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/pidgin-developers/ppa/ubuntu \
    $DISTRIB_CODENAME main | \
    sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pidgin-ppa.list

Then update the repository:

sudo apt-get update

Last, upgrade the pidgin:

sudo apt-get upgrade

That’s it.

Last week, Google announced their newest Google Search Appliance , called (GSA) n . What’s the-n is all about? It’s about Scalability, Customization and Search Quality. In other words, they have n features in this version of GSA.

Even they say the GSA can be interconnected between departements or even between continents. And some features that I know is important are Social search features and User added results .

They have two models, GB-7007 and GB-9009. The licensing model is on how many documents you want’s to crawl. Just read the pdf here .

In old days, when the laptop is missing, then there’s nothing to do. However, now there’s a program called prey, a program that will send the email to you about the existence of your laptop, what program is running, and when there is a webcam will send photos from a thief.

Manohara Pinot is back to Indonesia

Today I’m in Indonesia. Right now, TVOne one of local television is broadcasting an interview with Manohara Pinot. According to some local news site, she is get a sexual abuse from her husband. Now she’s in Indonesia.

She managed get to Indonesia while she in Singapore. After visiting his father in law on Singapore’s Hospital. Mano said that in Singapore you can force someone to do something without his/her willings.

Congratulation to Manohara.
