I’m excited to announce the arrival of my two new nieces. YES TWO! My sister had twin girls this weekend and that means I now have 12 nieces and nephews. You’ve gotta love it.

They were born on Saturday at 33 weeks. Kate Samantha weighed about 4lbs 8oz and Grace Lindsay (named after me yes!) weight about 4lbs 2oz. They’ll have to be in the hospital for a bit but they’re progressing really well and doing great. And did I mention how absolutely adorable they are? They already look different so maybe it won’t be too challenging to tell them apart when they get older!!

Mom is doing well but I’m trying to get her to rest more! Dad is staying by her side (awe) and their brother is doing great and I think he’s going to make an awesome big brother.

Aren’t you excited for us?

Now all we’ve got to do is set up the nursery for the girls arrival!

It was reported today, somewhere, that Morgan Freeman had an affair with his wifes daughters daughter. In other words, he was alledgedly doin it with his step granddaughter?

If that’s true (which I have no idea if it is) Morgan Freeman is gross!

The word on the street is that she is 27 and he is 72 (that’s odd) and that their affair supposidly started when she was still in high school and then when she went off to college she gave him sexy photos to remember him by but that it was all awkward when she would come back into town for a visit. Now she’s saying she just wants to go back to him being her step grandpa and that obviously Morgan Freemans wife and mistress (pahahahaha) want nothing to do with him.

I have no idea what to say about this. Gross.

If this isn’t true, I’m sorry I posted about this at all. Either way I’ll try to figure out the truth from some legitimate source and get back to you with the info I find.

In the meantime, gross.

David Carradine was found dead yesterday in his hotel room closet in Bangkok, Thailand. He was in Bangkok shooting a new movie and his body was found by his producer. He had a cord tied around his neck and around his genitals and his cause of death is said to be asphyxiation.

It was first reported that Carradine’s death was a suicide. However, many are speculating this was an accidental death during what might have been a sex game gone wrong because of the sexual nature of how he was found and because there weren’t any signs of a struggle. New reports are saying that this might have been murder after it came out that his hands were tied behind his back.

David Carradine is most known for being the star of the popular 1970s television show “Kung Fu”, but most in younger generations probably know him best for his role as Bill in Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” movies.

In what can only be described as tragic, Mike Tyson’s Daughter died yesterday after what is being called a “freak accident.”

Mike Tyson’d daughter, 4-year-old Exodus Tyson, was playing on a treadmill in their home in Phoenix, Arizona when she accidentally strangled herself with the machines electric cord. “It acted like a noose and she was obviously unable to get herself out of it,” said Police Sergeant Andy Hill.

Shortly after, she was found hanging by the cord by her 7-year-old brother Miguel. The boy quickly alerted their mother Monica Turner who called 911 and Exodus was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was put on life support. Police are speculating she could have been caught on the cord for several minutes.

Mike Tyson, who was shoting a documentary in Las Vegas, immediately flew to Phoenix to be by his daughters side in her final moments.

Thoughts and prayers of the Daily Brew go out to the Tyson and Turner families.

In addition to being oh so very wrong about her celebrity, Hayden Panettiere is wrong again.

Recently, the mediocre starlet Hayden Panettiere got a lengthy tattoo vertically down the side of her torso that reads, “Vivere senza rimipianti.” There are a few things about this that are funny.

When she get’s pregnant (heaven forbid because I can’t stomach the mental capacity of her offspring) that thing is going to be so stretched out it’s just going to be a block of black rather than words. Come on kids, you gotta think these tattoos through.

As previously mentioned the tattoo reads, “Vivere senza rimipianti.” That’s supposed to be Italian for “Live without regrets.” This is ironic because I think she had a lot of regret after she saw the tattoo. See, it’s supposed to be “rimpianti” but the tattoo artest, by some accident of his or Hayden Panettiere’s, gave it an extra “i” so it’s “rimipianti.”

Lesson to Hayden Panettiere and everyone else: If you are going to take a bold step and get a tattoo, something printed on your body that won’t go away unless you get it surgically removed, you should probably make sure there aren’t any typo’s in it.

In spite as “coming out” as an anti-gay person who seriously opposes gay marriage AND posing for a slew of topless photos that were recently leaked online, Miss California Carrie Prejean will be hanging on to her crown.

Many people have speculated that due to her strong stance and immoral actions, Carrie Prejean should have her Miss California crown taken back and should be removed from the “thrown” so to speak. Yesterday everyone was waiting with baited breath to find out what pageant head Donald Trump would do. During the news conference Donald Trump announced that Carrie Prejean will keep her Miss California thrown.

Trump said he found the photos both beautiful and lovely (barf) and Carrie Prejean maintains that the photos weren’t meant to be topless, that the photos were just taken on an insanely windy day and that her breasts were accidentally exposed. Wardrobe malfuncion? That’s what we’re going with?

Sure, perfectly pleasant gay people shouldn’t be able to get married, but it’s okay for Miss California to be a role model by flashing her boobs and promoting hate. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Good going adults.

I guess my summer has officially started because that’s what “they” say happens when you see Wolverine. Well I saw it last night so here is my X-Men Origins: Wolverine Review.

Here’s what happens in Wolverine: It’s a prequal, of course based on the X-Men series of movies. We get to see Logan (Wolverine), played by good old Hugh Jackman,as a kid first discovering his mutant powers along with his brother Victor (Sabertooth), played by Liv Schreiber. Then we get to see then all grows up, and then not aging while they fight in the Civil War, a few World Wars and the Vietnam War. Victor has a bit of a bad streak so they are soon imprisoned by their own platoon until they meet William Stryker (the villain from X2) and join a group of mutants working for the government, Weapon X. Again, because of Victor, things go bad and Logan decides to quit the team and live a simple life as a lumberjack in Colorado with his hotty girlfriend, Kayla Silverfox, played by Lynn Collins. Then AGAIN because Victor is a big jerk things go bad and Logan is talked into joining Styker again and getting that adamantium, also from X2, flooded into his body making his bones and claws an indestructible metal. Finally things go bad again and Logan seeks revenge and has to fight on old Weapon X friend Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, who has been “tweaked” by Stryker to be this indestructible, sad, mind controlled mutant. At the end Logan loses his memory and so that’s why in the X-Men series he doesn’t remember his past.

*Sigh*

I know that was long but it had to be said because Wolverine is complicated but actually pretty good. One thing I enjoyed a lot was the acting. A few spotlights on Hugh Jackman, Lynn Collins and Ryan Reynolds. I’m used to being impressed by Jackman because he can play rough and tough Wolverine, a gay guy on broadway and a crazy magician and I believe him in every role. Reynolds was kind of a surprise though. I mean, he didn’t get a TON of screen time but he was both funny and then creepy. Just the way he looked and moved at the end was great and I was glad he wasn’t Ryan Reynolds in it, not to mention he got totally freaking ripped for it. Lynn Collins though, a truly beautiful women, was also really great in this. I knew I’d seen her in things before and as it turns out she’s been in “Law and Order: SVU”, The Lakehouse, The Number 23 and a few more things. Small roles but she’s really moving up here.

Wolverine was filled with action, had some good humor and really helped explain why Wolverine is the way he is in all the other movies. They kind of left it open for a sequal to the prequal and thought this wasn’t the best movie in the world I’d definately see the next one. It reminded me why I loved the X-Men series and made me hope for more in the future.

Wolverine gets 4/5 LJ Stars

As many of you may know in the last Miss California pageant winner Carrie Prejean was asked by Perez Hilton what her views are on gay marriage. To the surprise of many she answered that she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman only, “no offense”. Well offense was taken, by many, and has caused wide spread criticism Nationally, as well as overseas.

Now Carrie Prejean is going to Washington to join the National Organization for Marriage and campaign against gay marriage. Because you know, we’ve all heard what when two people of the same sex get married, somehow, someway all other heterosexual marriages are just plain invalidated. *Rolling eyes*

Marriage is dear to her heart and she’s just hear to protect it? What is this a new “super” hero I haven’t heard about? Anti-Gay Girl. Whose her sidekick, The Racist Kid? I’d say I hope she’s ashamed of herself but obviously she isn’t and probably won’t ever be. She’s too clueless. Oh yeah, and nice fake boobs you paid for with the pageant money. You’re going to need them if you want anyone to be nice to you ever again.

In spite of falling on hard times, like her crazy husband Matthew Broderick cheating on her, it turns out that Sex in the City sensation Sarah Jessica Parker is having twins, sort of.

There have been rumors floating around that because of afore mentioned infidelity by Broderick these two were getting a divorce. It looks like they’ve quashed those rumors, though, by getting Sarah Jessica Parker’s surrogate pregnant not once but twice…or well with two babies. I’m sure Broderick impregnating someone other than his wife was a hardship, but I’m sure he took it like a man.

The couple already has a 6 year old son and these next two kids should be a lovely addition. I hope they pick cool names like Pete and Repeat or Dweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb.

Note: I find it really weird that in 2009 I’ve heard of like 5 people being pregnant with twins already, one of which is my lovely sister. It’s crazy and I can’t wait!

Usually when I do a movie review I give a synopsis of the film and tell you what I liked about it and why, and what I didn’t like about it and why. For this Knowing Review I’m not even going to go that far.

Knowing stars Nicolas Cage and not really anyone else that you know or would care about. What is Knowing about? Not really sure. Here’s how my Sunday night went: family birthday party, finish some grueling homework, sit through horrific previews that scared the crap out of me, sit through a non-horrific but totally stupid movie, go home wishing I had my 2 hours and $15 back.

See, it was 10 at night and my husband and I decided to go on an impromptu date night and since it was so late we decided to go to the only thing playing, Knowing. First of all, we hadn’t heard much about this movie except a vague “It’s not that great” from some reviews in passing. We thought we might like it because we were coming down from an illusion of Nicolas Cage from Moonstruck and for some unknown reason we blocked out the last 10 years of his movies. Also, we are both kinda into odd movies with future stuff and paranormalish stuff. We were the only people in the theater, which was good, because the laughter and disgust we displayed during the movie wouldn’t have been great for other people to hear.

Tag line for Knowing: Shit happens, then you die.

A note to the writer and director of Knowing: If you are going to make a film about biblical stuff and about apocolyptic stuff and about heavany stuff, be bold about it. Don’t hide in the corner and try to get us to figure out something isn’t there. If it’s about heaven, make it obvious.

Knowing is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. If this is knowing, I never wanted to know. I don’t know what else to say about this movie except…just don’t waste your money, time or date night on this.
