Shift to AMD!!!

Intel Guilty on it's rivalry, AMD.

THE VERDICT IS IN, and Intel has been found guilty as charged by the EU for abusing its dominant market position, with the chipmaker being fined a whopping €1.06 billion.

The EU said Chipzilla had violated EC Treaty antitrust rules under Article 82, abusing its dominant market position "by engaging in illegal anticompetitive practices to exclude competitors from the market for computer chips called x86 central processing units (CPUs)".

Neelie Kroes, EU Competition Commissioner

The EU Commission said it had found Intel guilty of two kinds of nefarious illegal practice, the first of which was giving "wholly or partially hidden rebates to computer manufacturers on condition that they bought all, or almost all, their x86 CPUs from Intel", whilst the second was Intel's direct pay-offs to OEMs to stop or delay the launches of products containing its competitors' chips.

The commission said it also found Intel guilty of making "direct payments to a major retailer on condition it stock only computers with Intel x86 CPUs," saying that these moves "effectively prevented customers - and ultimately consumers - from choosing alternative products."

"By undermining its competitors' ability to compete on the merits of their products, Intel's actions undermined competition and innovation" said a Commission press release.

Along with the €1.06 billion fine, Intel has been ordered to stop its antitrust behavior immediately and told the Commission will actively monitor its compliance. The fine is equivalent to $1.44 billion, a very hard whack to Intel's bottom line, considering the firm had $3.5 billion in cash on its balance sheet at the end of Q1.
Giuliano Meroni, AMD's EMEA president, told the INQ "The EU decision will shift the power from an abusive monopolist to computer makers, retailers and above all consumers".

source:http://www.theinquirer.net

Kami menjual Komputer|Pc Terpakai!!

Kami menjual Komputer|Pc terpakai dari jenama IBM, DELL, COMPAQ, DATAMINI imported.
Sila Lawati Http://bundlepc.blogspot.com untuk maklumat lanjut.

yang bersemangat,
Bundle Pc

Related Tags: Pc terpakai, Komputer terpakai, Komputer Murah, Pc Murah, Bundle pc.

This is the Quantum Bigfoot, capacity 2.1GB larger than that Medalist... but still bring trouble to me.... Pc that attached this hdd use Pentium II. This hdd can't boot, i think the OSes corrupt coz the error is "NO SYSTEM DISK FOUND bla bla ba"... So the solution, i replace the hdd with 40GB.... So i can install XP there and more software.... and running on Pentium II... with 256 SDRAM and lil bit of tweaking, the XP running smoothly... After compare the size of the hdd with other, now i know why Bigfoot....

All of these tweaks are very easy to make, and make a huge difference in performance. The key is to keep the system accessing the SSD as infrequently as possible.
As mentioned in a previous post, make sure you formatted the HD with the FAT32 file system and not NTFS. NTFS will be painfully slow on the SSD.
BIOS
The first thing you can do to speed up the system is to disable the “D2D recovery” system in the BIOS (Press F2 at startup to access the BIOS). This feature keeps an extra partition for recovery and takes up drive space and usage. Simply disable it, save and exit to boot back into Windows.
Turn off Paging File
If you’ve upgraded your memory (see below post) to the maximum 1.5GB, then you can turn off the paging file, which will greatly reduce startup time and speed up general usage. I do not recommend doing this though if you have less than 1GB of RAM. To disable the paging file, go to System Properties > Settings (under performance), select the “advanced” tab, then click the Change (under virtual memory) button. Click on the “No paging file” radio button and then click “set” and “apply”. You will have to restart your machine for the changes to take effect.
Turn off visual effects
Windows XP is pretty, but a lot of the shadowing and fading in and out that the system uses takes up a good deal of memory and resources. Turning off all or most of these effects will speed up the system. To adjust the effects, go to System Properties > Settings (under performance) and select the “Adjust for best performance” radio button. This will untick all of the visual effects. Personally, I like the blue bar at the bottom with the green start button, so I indulged and instead selected “custom” and ticked the last box, “Use visual styles on windows and buttons.”
Turn off Unnecessary Programs and Services
A lot of programs like to startup as soon as Windows loads so that they can be accessed more quickly. The problem is that these background programs are taking up memory and other resources, and unless you use these programs often, are usually best turned off to boost overall performance. Check the “Startup” folder in your programs list to make sure that nothing is loading that you don’t need started when Windows starts.
Similarly, you can turn off services that you don’t need. To access the services menu, go to Start > Run and type in “services.msc”. To disable a service, double click the service, and change the drop down menu under “startup type” to “disable.”
Here is a list of services that I’ve disabled on my Acer Aspire One that has increased the speed and doesn’t seem necessary in my instance of Windows:
AlerterBackground Intelligent Transfer ServiceClipbookComputer BrowserError Reporting ServiceHelp and SupportHuman Interface Device AccessIndexing ServiceIPSEC ServicesMessengerNetwork DDENetwork DDE DSDMPerformance Logs and AlertsPortable Media Serial Number ServiceQos RSVPRemote Desktop Help Session ManagerRouting and Remote AccessSecondary LogonTCP/IP NetBIOS HelperUninterruptible Power SupplyWebClientWindows TimeWMI Performance Adapter
All of these services have a detailed description in the window so you can choose to disable more, or less services depending on how you use your machine. If you happen to disable a service that a program needs, it will just fail to load and usually mention that it needs a particular service that you can just re-enable in the services program.
With all of these tweaks, my cold-start time to ready-to-use time went from 65 seconds to 35 seconds which I’m more than happy with. General usage is also noticably improved and makes this a very nice Windows XP machine even with the slower SSD.

Source:aceraspireoneblog.com

*for anyone who use Acer aspire one or other laptop which use Intel Atom, this tips for your XP..

For example, DDR Memory won't work with motherboards designed for only DDR2, SDRAM or RDRAM memory, and vice versa.

DDR2
DDR2 is the most common type of memory in modern PCs today, having introduced features and functions that go well beyond the DDR SDRAM specification. It has 240 pins and is able to operate at data rates much faster than DDR1. Additionally, DDR2 adds a second port to transfer data packets to the CPU, doubling the transfer rate of DDR1.

DDR1
Originally known as plain 'DDR', this type of memory has become less common over the years, having been virtually replaced by DDR2. It's an evolution of SDRAM with 184 pins. While SDRAM transfers data once per clock signal, DDR transfers data twice, almost doubling the data transfer rate. DDR is Double data rate (DDR) SDRAM.

SDRAM
SDRAM stands for synchronous dynamic random access memory, so called because it synchronises with a clock signal and therefore the processor. Single data rate SDRAM is the oldest type of SDRAM, and is therefore commonly known simply as SDRAM rather than SDR SDRAM. While older PCs still use SDRAM it is no longer used in new systems, DDR or DDR2 being used instead. SDRAM has 168 pins.

RDRAM
An alternative to DDR SDRAM is Rambus DRAM (or RDRAM). It uses double data rate in a similar way to DDR and has the same number of pins, and is used in some games consoles, but it is not common in PC systems.

Different types of memory module - SIMM, DIMM and SODIMM

Memory modules come in different forms, and it's essential to get the right kind to fit your motherboard. A DIMM module won't fit into a SODIMM slot, and vice versa.

DIMM
Most systems use DIMMs - Dual In-Line Memory Modules. DIMMS have separate electrical contacts on each side, as opposed to the SIMM's redundant contacts. DIMMs with their 64-bit data path can be installed individually and replace the matched pairs of SIMMs. The number of pins depends on the type of DIMM.

SIMM
SIMM stands for Single In-Line Memory Module. These memory modules are installed in pairs, and are the older type of module, having a 32-bit data path and only 72 pins, meaning that 64-bit computing remains an impossibility on SIMM-based PC system.

SODIMM
Small outline dual in-line memory modules (SODIMMs) are a smaller version of a DIMM, being about half the size and with either 72, 144 or 200 pins. They are therefore commonly found in laptop computers while regular DIMMs are found in PCs.

Non-ECC memory

ECC and non-ECC memory can usually be placed in the same system without problem, although it will effectively operate as a completely non-ECC-based system. Non-ECC memory is recommended for home and office desktop PCs. The biggest advantage that non-ECC memory offers to the user, is an increase in speed over any ECC equivalent. Non-ECC is ideal for 99% of computers.

ECC memory

Rarely found in home PCs, Error-correcting code memory is memory that tests the accuracy of data moving in and out, and is able to detect and correct some errors without user intervention. These small errors are normally caused by cosmic rays. ECC memory is only really beneficial if you're going to be processing massive amounts of data (like a server does) and all data needs to be 100% accurate. ECC memory is not normally needed for home systems, but is commonly used in server computers.

Flash memory

Flash memory is a non-volatile form of memory - it doesn't need a power supply to maintain the data stored on it. While it has some applications within PCs, including the BIOS chip, it is also found in devices such as MP3 players, USB memory sticks, memory cards for video game consoles, and the CompactFlash and Secure Digital cards used in many digital cameras.

source:Misco.co.uk, en.wiki.org.

*......woaahhhh...now i know it..the different between Ram which it use in computer, server and other digital devices. That maxim definitely applies to the ABS-Secure Encrypted Backup Solution by CMS Products ($180 list). True to its name, this external hard drive is very secure, with 256-bit AES encryption for the entire drive (as opposed to individual folders or files using software encryption utilities). The ABS-Secure extends CMS Product's ABS Plus external hard drive line to the security conscious (read: paranoid), and its encryption level goes far beyond that of its competitors. Although the protection is stronger, you do pay a price, since the drive is somewhat expensive and is more complicated to set up than its rivals.

*Bullet proof?? sound interesting....too gangsta' fo' external drive..

And with a unique industrial look, they're pretty sweet to look at. Unfortunately, if you're looking for deep low-end, you won't get it here. The speakers lack bass and tend to distort at high volumes. Their price is right, however, and they make a perfect, interesting-looking desktop speaker set for the office—assuming you don't blast your music at work.

source:pcmag.com

*If you are a normal user i can consider you to use this, but for gamers, music lover... You could use a flash drive or an external disk, but why not make use of that 16GB phone that you carry with you all the time?
iPhoneDisk is a MacFUSE based filesystem for the iPhone. Simply install MacFUSE, then install iPhoneDisk, and your iPhone will be usable as a general storage device. When you connect it via USB, it will show up on your desktop just like a USB drive would. For about RM900($300) you can put 2TB of storage into your PC. The drive is part of Western Digital's GreenPower drive family, which strives for the ideal balance of performance, power conservation, and low noise. I tested an engineering sample—hence the absence of a rating in this review (we'll rate the shipping version, of course). Power consumption was certainly low—about at the level of the older 1TB WD10EACS—and the acoustics were generally quite good.

source: pcmag.com

But the eventual benefit to design firms often comes at a huge up-front cost, since significant alterations normally result in bugs that need to be fixed before a full production run can begin. Each test run costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, so it pays to get things right the first or second time. Production delays are an even costlier problem when new architecture is involved, which is why Nvidia normally updates its current products before introducing any new ones.

The GeForce GTX 285’s most noticeable performance-oriented improvement is an increase in GPU clock speed of around 8%. The memory clock increase–while much larger at 12%–is likely not as important for performance. GeForce GTX 295 graphics units get two of these processors, although each one is handicapped with slower GPU speed, memory speed, and memory bus width. Meanwhile, AMD earns bragging right for both GPU clock and memory data rates, but only because less-complex graphics processors typically clock higher and GDDR5 memory uses a quad-data rate bus.
The specific card in today’s review is a special "XXX" sample of XFX’s GeForce GTX 285, model GX-285N-ZDDF, sporting a core clock of 670 MHz and GDDR3-2500. The larger numbers look more impressive than they are, since these are less than 4% GPU and 1% RAM above the reference specification, so we’ll split the difference and consider it a likely 2-3% average improvement over base speed.

In addition to the basics, XFX includes a door tag, the game Far Cry 2, a DVI-to-HDMI adapter, and an S/PDIF breakout cable. The breakout cable connects a motherboard’s internal S/PDIF audio output to an input adjacent to the card’s power connections, and the combined audio/video signal can be accessed though the output of the HDMI adapter. While this method has been available on Nvidia products for several generations, many previous packages did not include the special cable.

source: tom's hardware

That was likely the impetus behind the Nvidia GeForce GTX 295, which rests the high-end graphics crown from the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2. Nvidia's weapon was a new GT200 GPU with a smaller die size—the result of a shift from a 65- to a 55-nm manufacturing process. The downsized die cut power needs, letting the engineers put two GPUs, along with their high-speed GDDR3 RAM, into one device that wouldn't blow past the PCIe power specs for a single slot.
It also made the GTX 295 faster overall than the rival ATI card. That said, bang for the buck, measured in dollars per frame per second, is about the same for the two—and the GTX 295, while reasonably priced for what you get, still ain't cheap. If you can settle for merely impressive performance, go forth and save with the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 (but turn aside Nvidia's previous best, the GeForce GTX 280, which now looks like a pretty poor choice). Unlike traditional methods such as mp3, ogg, or lqt that permanently discard quality to save space, Monkey’s Audio only makes perfect, bit-for-bit copies of your music. That means it always sounds perfect – exactly the same as the original. Even though the sound is perfect, it still saves a lot of space. (think of it as a beefed-up Winzip™ for your music) The other great thing is that you can always decompress your Monkey's Audio files back to the exact, original files. That way, you'll never have to recopy your CD collection to switch formats, and you'll always be able to recreate the original music CD if something ever happens to yours. Features: Efficient (fast and great compression) – Monkey's Audio is highly optimized and highly efficient Perfect sound – absolutely no quality loss, meaning it sounds perfect and decompresses perfect (it's lossless!) Media Center™, Winamp™, and more support – supported by many popular players and rippers Easy – the Windows environment interface is both powerful and easy to use Free – Monkey’s Audio is completely free! Error detection – Monkey’s Audio incorporates redundant CRC’s to ensure proper decompression of data (errors never go unnoticed) Tagging support – Monkey’s Audio uses its own extremely flexible APE Tags so you can easily manage and catalogue your Monkey’s Audio collection. External coder support - you can use Monkey's Audio as a front-end for all of your encoding needs Freely available source code, simple SDK and non-restrictive licensing - other developers can easily use Monkey's Audio in their own programs -- and there are no evil restrictive licensing agreements.

*anyone want this software, just leave your email!

source: majorgeeks
