Aviation Nation Treasury at Etsy

I've decided to periodically put together some Etsy treasuries based on whatever obscure holiday we happen to be celebrating in the US on whatever day I happen to get the urge. In that spirit I just put together this showcase in honor of National Aviation Day today. It's held on Orville Wright's birthday. Not sure if anyone actually celebrates it but, hey, any excuse for a party right? I think we all have a love/hate relationship with flying (unless you're like, 6 or something)-we love to travel, hate to fly. Especially with the striptease/grabass that a trip to the airport now entails (thanks for that Osama et al). Anyway, try to think of the airplane/port as a means to an end. Think of it as a symbol of the connection between yourself and distant loved ones, exotic locales, cultural experiences, and the French. That said, I guess this is a little heavy on the passport covers. Probably because I'm in the market. Anyway, bon voyage.

Here's the latest Deli Grocery design. We just printed it last weekend. It's creepy and stylish.

I'm not really sure where the idea came from. I just thought it might be interesting to see an animal with a human skull. There are so many skull designs and animal designs-why not combine the two? The top hat? The guy's just got style is all. See below for some pics of the shirt being made.

Kim, the fairer half of the Deli Grocery concern has a new silkscreen print in a show opening tonight at the International Print Center. It's a huge show with a wide variety of artists at all stages of their careers. If you're a New Yorker, you could do worse.
