College life - The Autobiography

"My name was unknown and I was born somewhere in Northern Mindanao way back May 1986. Never ask much about my name because I know a little about it. My mom just doesn’t know what happened on how they come up with that. I grew up in a home surrounded by aunties those were sisters of my mom such that I was the one often being asked to buy something… “Girl thing”, you know. I have an older sister and a brother; I’m the middle child, a reason why I’m always being asked to do things."

My early childhood has nothing more than an ordinary kid. I play a lot, skipped sleeping hours, play arcade video games at the neighborhood, finds trouble, and a fair bully sometimes. Mom always scolded me for doing thus things. Eventually, I need to climb over the fence just to hung up with my friends. When I’m at home, my favorite pastime was dismantling and fixing toys, such that my mom and aunt have to pinch me. During summer, I used to make and flew kites at a nearby beach.

At school, teachers often complained about my moods and attitudes to girls. It’s like I really hate them a lot and sometimes result in a quarrel(boxing!). Even though I’m quite a bastard, I do excel also. I earned good grades and eventually at the 1st or 2nd place ahead of the others. I have a passion for arts ever since when I was at the nursery school such that my aunt complained much upon seeing my notebooks full of caricatures.

My passion in sports was prevalent during my late elementary years. It is during this time that I had started to play sepak takraw and badminton up to the present. Furthermore, it is during this time that I earned several of my first local and regional awards for different activities. When I stepped up high school, things have changed. Personality transition happened; not much involved in vigorous activities at my first couple of years, but much focused on academics.

My last two years were spent at another school where I learned much more on music, culture and arts. I also have joined several academic contest, editorial cartooning (journalism), paintings, and, etc., most of thus mention earned my merits and recognitions. The rest of my senior years was spent as an instrumentalist on a local ethnic dance company. My high school years really didn’t prepare me for college. As a consequence, I battled between myself and my family, whether to pursue things I like but never have the guts on it or have their decisions initiated.

This thing really bothers me, but it all ends up in taking my decision. I’m not good in math but the only way to relieve myself from numbers was to conquer it. So I struggle hard enough to pass my math subjects to be able to get my majors. Really, college life was exhausting and tempting; a lot of people would try to bargain you for a cup of alcohol, women, drugs and, etc. these things could mislead you to things you oath to dream with.

The last time I’ve been in a bar cafe’, was when I’m having this stupid heartache. They urge me to drink, I almost deny, just to pay a respect for a good treat. Anyway, drinking doesn’t alter the problem, after all it is by your friends who show their sympathy and offer some piece of advice and encouragements to help you cover up the pain.

College life offers a lot of windows to pursue forgotten things, things I missed and never experienced ever since, adventures to certain places through research studies and field trips, love life and heartaches. This affair I’m hooked up was a part of my story, but that doesn’t have to end that way. Presently, I’m aspiring for graduation and soon to become an engineer…If God permits. I learned that failures are a gateway to success, never surrender if you fail because if you did… you’re now quite no different from a loser.

It's been a year now when i started doing some SEO (search engine optimization) stuff. It wasn't tough to find a job if you know where to look for. I'm not a born writer, but my passion to blog and share my experiences makes me feel complete, so please bear with me. The internet is a huge resource of thoughts and perhaps the best way to search your assignments. Talking about searching, the search engines as we all know are the best places to start and bang your ideas and queries into solutions.

Internet marketers used the search engine so much to obtain web traffic. Web traffic is basically the amount of traffic on a particular website as defined by Wikipedia. Internet marketers used various strategies to gain this traffic, whether a white or black hat SEO. So SEO plays a major role in driving traffic and of course increasing sales/conversion.

As a marketer and SEO enthusiast, various strategies have been applied to improve some specific rankings. The rankings here involve several points from niche research, the keywords up to the number of competitions a web site has, which integrally affects the optimization of the page.

A number of websites are structured according to SEO, and this trend has been for a long time since the earliest stage of the search engines. Google, Yahoo, and Bing, are the most popular search engines today. However, a huge significance has been given to the Mecca of all search engines; Google, which ultimately followed by Facebook (top one social media site). Internet marketers, spammers, and alike are flocking to get a piece of Google's massive traffic. Most successful online businesses are trying to perfect there SEO strategy for years, since Google hasn't revealed its exact algorithm yet, then it looks like a myth. Therefore, understanding how its internal algorithm work is kind of a difficult task, and we don't want to waste much of our time on that, unless you do.

So the question is ...Why Google?

People are searching every-minute using the search engines, and Google accounts for the 46% of all the search traffics from the search engines. With that number alone, we could now get a better perspective why most internet marketers are targeting Google.

A simple theory that most SEO's believe to be powerful, is the theory of Page Ranking. In doing the optimization, you need to understand that getting a rank on the first page of the search engine is not easy, unless you are fighting for a golden keyword. To get on the first page listings, you need to increase your Page Rank (PR), and that will boost your Search Engine Results Page (SERP) position. Page's rank is often confused with the ranking position on Google. Google Page Rank has nothing to do with where you are in the search engine with your specific keywords. It's just Google's way of expressing how important the website is. Taking into account the number of high PR sites linking to your blog will boost your blog's PR as well.

Consider the figure above which I pulled over the internet. Examine how the other minor sites linking to you (yellow) are affecting the process of ranking. The green's are less important than the blue and red. The blue and red smiley's has a greater impact on your PR obviously, simply by counting the number of green's pointing to them specially on the blue one.

Say as an example, an organization would want to amend its current constitution, which involves three parties. The President, Directors, and the Members. In giving a certain value to the votes, the President's would certainly count more than the Directors and Members. It is apparent that the President is more important in the organization. The other two votes would still count but not as valuable as the President. Does it make since?

Therefore, getting a page rank on Google matters as it affects your standing on the search page. Most SEO 's know how important a PR is. The lowest PR you could get is PR 0.15, and the highest would be PR10. So that's for now, I hope you learn something.

What's their common differences and drawbacks and how people react with this new age internet socialization?.

For fresh users, Facebook is not that easy to handle, not user friendly, which is disadvantageous than other networking sites such as Friendster.

Friendster was founded to create a safer, more effective environment for meeting new people by browsing user profiles and connecting to friends, friends of friends and so on, allowing members to expand their network of friends more rapidly than in real life, face-to-face scenarios. With over 90 million user today and growing, it became the breed and butter of social networking sites in Asia. Friendster hit the web last 2002 by his founder Jonathan Abram in Mountain View, California. Friendster is an addiction as you go over the page.

I had my account since 2004 as it hits the airwaves in Philippine TV, making Friendster the most viewed web page that time. With its beautifully designed and costumed made pages and themes, Friendster has already brought the heart of most Asians. This site has been increasingly becoming more appealing to the public since its launching. With its easy to use and packed with fun applications though not quite as many as Facebook, the site has managed to make you giggle and laugh by watching funny reviews of your pictures written by your friends. The only serious drawback on Friendster is that they are not investing much on redesigning and adding more applications to the site which hamper its popularity than its rival, Facebook. There are a lot of posers and scammers registered in Friendster than in Facebook, which makes it more vulnerable to scam and the likes. The harsh path that Friendster has taken looses its credibility in the networking arena.

For the days to come, Facebook and Friendster have increasingly been becoming popular to the people specially to the young generation. Facebook has already made its way to popularity with the Asians. Unfortunately, Friendster is losing some of the precious users across Asia, if they could patch out this problem as soon as possible by making revisions of some applications and design they had embedded on the program it would certainly assure its longevity to last for another five years. Alberto's Cafe Nightlife

Last night we've been to Alberto's Cafe to unwind and had a sipped of brewed coffee. We were unfortunate to find out that no one showed up for a gig. With respect, I asked the waitress about it and had told us that the band wasn't available due to some instances. Moments later, a guy came up and brought his guitar. I bet his going to show his best performance for that moment. He was just an old folk in that neighborhood which wanted to showcase his talent to the guys out there sipping some hot coffee at Alberto's cafe. Oh well, this old fashioned acoustic man boost his rock star mellow voice to the gays setting in front, near the ledge(LOL).

I kept watching about this fancy gays,coz they're so funny to look at. I think they're going to attend a maskarade.LOL. The entertainer had never been disturbed by these guys, well I thought his not just an ordinary folk but maybe his one of them that keeps wandering the city just for a 30-minute fame on most acoustic bars in Iligan City.

Two hot brewed americano brought us to some silly stuff. We kept commenting on the gays Mullen's rouge facial make-up, actually we thought of them as a circus freak. LOL. I really hate that gay as he looks at me, as if he would like to eat me within his reach. His honestly funny! POKER FACE! Minutes later around 9:45 pm, a Chinese hot chick with her lousy lesbian girl friend showed up. LOL. I really like the girl, sad to say that the lesbian had already taken her from me..(how sad). Hours passed as we keep chatting bout' our incoming conference trip to be held in Cebu city, a friend of mind from that place had fixed everything for our trip. Well, his a good Rastafarian from Cebu, well things should go my way...

We left the cafe, fully loaded with caffeine, LOl, walking at the street that night. We've passed several friends who were drinking to madness.LOL. Faisar Talib,a guy with heavy, thick beard and James were at the table when I saw them. Thus guys are silly and funny. They had much to drink that night. We left the table and keep walking unril we got home. What a nice try to get much out of our busy lives to have fun.

No Internet Connection?

If you had made it all, then bad luck is still in your feet? Why not run the Windows Recovery Console?.

If series of errors are pooping your desktop, then still cannot make any connections to the internet, and your wifi signal boost at 54mbps at 80% strength, afterwards it is time to use the Windows Recovery Tool, it's a recovery tool that fixes any corrupted files from your system. You can access the software as part of your original windows xp os cd. Follow the steps shown below, and it will guide you to the rest of the program.

The easiest way to find out why you could not connect to the internet is to run Windows Recovery Disk tool from your bootable windows xp, that's if you're using windows xp. Now run Windows Recovery Tool from your OS, and you can see something similar on the picture, find the suitable program that fits your needs. I recommend to examine first any errors. The disk will fix it, s as wrong registry, corrupted files and, etc.

Look on the windows management toll, to find out if your computer is running at windows default... I think the recovery tool will configure it for you. Once you have made the corrections on your system, next eject the cd, reboot, then Re-install any hardware that connects to the internet, such as your wireless adapter... So that's it!..

Boosting WiFI Signal

Today, I've been to the market, just looking around with only a dollar on my pocket. I've seen this nice, shiny, stainless tub (12 inch dim.). I thought it might be excellent to boost the signal of my Wifi connection at the apartment. Well, it sounds good, but the idea of boosting Wifi is always there on the internet. I take a look at the curvature of the pan, and I thought it might be better if I buy it. So I took it to the counter and have it paid near a dollar, 98 cents USD.

I brought it home, then I made a little tweak with it using my REALTEK Wireless Adapter. How did I make it?, so simple, you got to place the antenna to the position of the WiFi signal. This time I used a wifi radar software to locate the exact position of the signal. I run some hacking utilities, which gave me there IP adds, MAC adds and, etc. The idea is that if any captured signal/connection is present, windows will detect it only if you are in the right position to own that signal. In my case windows captured three prominent Wifi connections, 1 is extremely secured. I can't even crack the wep keys (sigh..). The other one is an open network, which then prompted me to connect freely without having a headache. The third one boost a lot of strength which is unusual since it only appears when there is a good connection and a sound weather also I think might help in routing this trace. I badly crack it with Airecrack, which gives me the authority to take down the connection.

The idea is by cracking WPA TSK the server will allow me to enter, unfortunately. I made it worst. It is an open connection, but it takes a lot of time to connect for a fake connection. I think It is a fake one. Now I'm writing this because I made it to connect freely on wireless connection located 200-400 meters from my position.

Student Life - The Last Semester

MSU-IIT, College of Engineering, Iligan City

This is my last semester in college. I hope it would be my last... College life..challenging.. [sigh..]. Thesis project is the most tedious one... I can't just imagine the output of this research. I am a Metallurgical Engineering student at MSU-IIT, here in Philippines.. some say it's one of the prestigious schools in the country.. I say.. well, you got to see the truth.. lack of laboratory equipment and others are the major drawbacks in this institution.

I think this issue should not be taken for granted by the Philippine government. Politics has always been an issue in this place. The students are trying their best to use the equipments that are not fully functional. Well, this is a Philippine top three school? And the government is not doing their best to support the students here?.

DOST accredited schools like UP, Ateneo and, etc. have their best in terms of laboratory materials, is it because they are situated in the National Capital Region, and they should deserve to be taken cautiously by the government? How about the schools in Mindanao? Do you think they're getting what must be of them at the first place?. Sad, but true... Schools and Academic institution here in Mindanao don't always get what they must have.. But to think that MSU-IIT is one of the top engineering schools in the country, then I must admit that students, here are really good in finding means to perform what has to be done during their laboratory experiments?

Ang tawag jan is common sense..LOL.
