Just like old days, still you can surf Internet in terminal console. However, instead of using Lynx, I recommend using unofficial google shell (goosh). Type 'h' to see the help. 's' and a keyword to search the Internet. You also can search through blogs, videos and news using 'b','v' and 'n' commands followed by a keyword. Check the commands in help and there are many things you can do with that.The only problem is its look which is not like old terminals. Here is the fix:

It is almost 3 decades that people use personal computers and for anyone and any purpose there is an application. However, my question is that whether or not there is an Operating System targeting children from 3 to 7. Using a simple Google search revealed that we have six options: Qimo4, Sugerlabs, Kiddix, Doudoulinux, Foresightlinux and Edubuntu. Unfortunately, none of them is an OS for children. They are just a collection of software with a funny theme. To me, an OS for children, must be designed in such a way that children can interact with the OS, if not it is not OS for children, it is just a program running on grown ups OS.

So, if you ask what is the best Operating System for children? The answer is none. Perhaps I should do it by myself after this PhD.

In synaptic window search for texlive
Select texlive for installation and a bunch of other programs will be selected automatically.

JoliOS is strangely unknown among those I know while it is one of the best operating systems I have ever tested. The duty of JoliOS is remarkably clear and comprehensible: very lightweight OS to manage your Internet works. It is supremely stylish too. I enjoy working with it because it is extremely fast. However, you can still install some of your favorite applications on JoliOS. Some of them are available by default like Open Office applications or Geany text editor. I have used the Geany and, with some tricks, I have installed LaTeX on JoliOS and now it works like a charm. I seriously recommend a test drive, then you may keep it forever.
