1. Oh, I can't wait until I have a house in town. (We are about 1 hour from the town we frequent. It's very inconvenient and uses a lot of gas.)

My 10 Favorite Sports to Watch

I'm too lazy to play sports, but I like watching. These are some of my favorite sports to watch:

snowmobiling (This is awesome to watch on TV. Plus I'll ride one if it isn't too cold outside.)
hockey (This is quite exciting to watch on TV, but I usually miss seeing the goals scored.)
gymnastics (One of my favorite sports in the Summer Olympics.)
basketball (I like tuning in during March Madness. Go Gonzaga.)
horse jumping (My girls like watching this one, too.)
bull riding (It amazes me that guys will actually do this.)
figure skating (One of my favorite sports in the Winter Olympics.)
women's soccer (What can I say. Women playing soccer is cool.)
baseball (Brings back good memories of when I played softball as a kid.)
ballroom dancing (I like tuning in to watch the yearly competition on PBS.)

I'd like to go back to college to become a counselor for women. I've also thought about Nursing.

Sunday Scribblings Prompt: Happy Endings

It would give me so much joy if I could help people have happy endings to problems in their lives. I am especially interested in helping, or even adopting, some of the 143 million orphans that are without their own families. I'd like to finish the last 2 years needed for my degree in Psychology and help people through counseling, too. But for now, these goals are out of my reach. First, I have to deal with the big brick wall in my life.

That big brick wall would be financial problems. My husband and I created a mountain of debt and we're also a one income family while I homeschool the kids. These are choices that we made, but the consequences of said choices makes for one great big wall that I find myself dealing with on a daily basis. Every day, I have to make frugal decisions and figure out how to pay the overdue bills.

Our goal is to get over this wall, so that we can be freed up to live a more fulfilling life - helping others. However, for now, this big wall of debt keeps us from pursuing those things. It seems ridiculous to me that I continue plugging away dealing with silly financial problems while other people deal with more serious problems. It would be so disappointing for me if I end up wasting many opportunities, because of the lack of finances. But financial problems can control lives and paralyze dreams.

Having this brick wall shows me how bad I want to be on the other side of it. I probably desire things like adopting orphans and helping others, because there is no possible way to have it right now. I think that it is normal for people not to realize blessings when they are so easily available. It's the things that we wait and hope for that we really appreciate.

I'm willing to keep pressing on until I get past this brick wall, even if it takes longer than I could possibly imagine. Perseverance isn't easy, but it's a requirement when you have big plans ahead. Hopefully, this will all result in a happy ending for me, too.

If your personality had to be summed up as a sandwich, what kind of sandwich would you be?

Just a regular peanut butter and jelly sandwich, because I'm a regular kind of gal.

If you knew that someone was dying, but they didn’t know, would you tell them the truth or deceive them about it?

Yes. I would definitely tell the person so that he or she can make the most of the rest of his or her life. I would sure want to know the truth.

Do you dress the same when you are depressed as you do when you are very happy?

Yes. I just wear the same clothes no matter what mood I'm in. However, if I'm home all day and feeling down then I'll just stay in my pajamas.

Do you ever have one of those days, or months, where you just feel like giving up?

I'm having one of those today. My mind and spirit feels weak and I just don't feel like persevering. I've done it for years and I'm tired out. But, I know that it's important to hang on. The Bible tells us to persevere. It's important to keep trusting God, even when we feel like things won't really work out.

I listened to some songs at You Tube to get my mind more focused on God and the truth. These video songs are great to listen to when you feel beaten down and weak. God can give us the strength to press on.
